Forty-two years old -- Unmarried -- Knight Commander of Gwent -- Kris Holden-Ried
Born a noble, Garrett left his family's country estate when he was young to begin his knight training at the castle of Gwent, where he showed incredible promise with a blade and was immediately recruited to be squire to King Alistair's younger brother, Maric, then the Knight Commander himself. Under his tutelage, Garrett honed his skill with a blade to deadly result, turning out to be one of the greatest warriors Gwent would ever produce. All but legally adopted into the royal family of Gwent, he was treated as a son by Prince Maric, and as the years went on and the King continued to produce no heir, there were even rumors that Sir Garrett would be named next in line for the throne in place of blood kin. Of course, those rumors vanished abruptly with the birth of Princess Isadora.[/size]
He was devastated when his mentor, Prince Maric, passed away in battle, but was rewarded for his service to the kingdom of Gwent with a knighthood of his own. Through the course of his years as a knight, Gwent saw many battles, and Sir Garrett's courage, skill and cleverness earned him much respect and renown throughout the land, along with wealth, riches, and lands and titles of his own. Following the death of Knight Commander Ceorlic, he was named the new Knight Commander at the age of thirty-one, and has served King Alistair with unwavering loyalty since then. Skilled at the arts of war, he led the country to many victories...until the king fell ill.
Trusted without question, Sir Garrett is one of the few who truly know the extent of the King's illness, and how much control Princess Isadora has taken over the country, and while he is unerringly loyal to the princess, he doesn't always agree with her. He thinks Isadora is daftly naive, and he doesn't think that her pacifistic ways are necessarily what's best for the kingdom. He isn't afraid to voice his opinions when this happens, but in the end he would never disobey an order from the princess or the king.
