Harsh times lead people to do odd things. Fearing that upon his death Eufemie and their kin would be left penniless, Cador resolved to name his child a boy regardless of gender. Therefore, brought up with the finest pedigree and training Silence grew into a strong young man. He always had to try harder than his cousins though and found delight in the softer bearing of women. He was raised with the brawn of a son and found within himself the delicate cunning of a daughter. He can't exactly pin down the moment his gender clicked into place, and doesn't care to think on that early confusion often. His very being an utter secret prevents him from fully knowing his path in life. Everything was easy when he was striving for knighthood, now he is simply lost.| ~ • ~ | Character Basics | ~ • ~ |

Everyday Silence struggles in the fight between Nature versus Nurture. He draws on the strength of both genders, while also being haunted by their weaknesses. Currently he is feuding with his parents and himself. On one side is understanding and reason, while on the other is the urge to fight against the laws that created his struggle. He has thus resolved himself to take up the political fight instead of that of the sword. The weight of believing in the equality of justice weighs on him quite heavily. If there should be gender equality, then why not the equality of races or magic users? Dangerous thoughts for dangerous times. If his parents could change his fate by simply changing his gender, the why can't he try to aid the fate of others who are oppressed by misconceived notions?
