.:Name of Character:.Queen Celestina of House Caden
.:Nick Name:. Celeste, addressed as "Lady Celeste," "Your Highness," "Your Majesty," and "Mistress." Sometimes called Cella or Tina by her sister. Called the Demon Queen, the Ice Queen, and the Frozen Queen by her enemies.
.:Status:. Royalty| ~ • ~ | Appearance | ~ • ~ |
.:Physical Appearance:. The beautiful Queen Celeste stands tall and willowy at 5'8". Her skin has been described as ivory, with nary a mark on her face, and she has large, exotic green eyes. She has dark, thick brown-black hair that softly waves to the top of her hips, and it is usually worn up and crowned with a golden diadem.
Celeste is usually found in the colors gold and dark crimson (Eliaa's colors), soft blue, and jade green. Her style of dress is very elegant but relaxed, made with silks and satins. Dresses are made in the style of royalty, with sloping necklines, floor-length skirts, gold embroidery, and dual sleeves, with the outer falling to her knees and the inner running to the top of her hands. She often wears fingerless leather gloves underneath.
When riding horseback or practicing any sport, she can be found in flowing, loose red tunics and skin-tight trousers, though it is highly frowned upon and not attractive in the eyes of suitors.
Celeste stands, sits, and rides with great posture and elegance, a skill that was acquired due to her status and much training. She moves with incredible grace and poise.

.:Personality:. Celeste herself has a few sides to her personality. Normally, she is kind and demure, and is very trusting of her friends and family. She is proper, poised, and always looking for adventure. She was known to the rest of the world as the Naive Princess, due to the overprotectiveness of her parents.
When put into a position of authority when her parents were killed, Celeste's personality changed. She becomes hard as a rock, very quick to anger, and often bloodthirsty for her enemies. However, she is also very brave, plunging headfirst into situations that are frightening or dangerous without a thought for her own wellbeing; just that of her people and her Kingdom. When she is like this, her enemies and fearful followers have called her the Demon Queen, though she has corrected one when he called her that to her face and said that the Ice Queen, or the Frozen Queen, is more suitable to her situation.
On the outside, she is very quiet and thoughtful, and her words hold great merit and weight when she chooses to speak. She has been complimented with being wise for such a young woman, and she is very humbled by kind words and praises.
The Eliaan Queen is known for being very kind to servants, though she sometimes snaps at her handmaid when she is upset. She will defend those she knows are good, though she is extremely hurt when she discovers a traitor in her household, as proven when her own handmaid was discovered as being a spy. Said handmaid remains in the dungeons of Celeste's palace, though the Queen herself sometimes visits the girl, due to the bond they once shared when Celeste was the Naive Princess.
Many suitors have come to try for the hand of the young queen, forced into leadership due to the untimely deaths of her parents, both when she was the lesser Eliaan princess and as the monarch of a kingdom. She shows no interest, as her attention was caught by a noble of her own court when she was seventeen. Therefore, when approached by a noble or royalty, she will seem very wary until she deduces that the man has good intentions that do not involve matrimony.
1.Celeste is very light on her feet, gained from years of dance lessons and a naturally willowy body frame.
2.She is very wise for someone so young, due to years spent locked away from the world. She occupied her time speaking to visiting scholars and reading, and, before she was Queen, she often helped her father with difficult moral decisions.
3.Celeste has a golden heart. She always puts others before herself, sometimes putting herself into states of harm so that her people can be safe. Her taxes are very generous and her knights and soldiers are commanded to be friendly to peasants and citizens alike.
.:Weaknesses:. Celeste is quick to anger, and she is inexperienced with the world outside her castle. She loves her friends and family too much to let them go. Despite her good intentions, she can sometimes become very bloodthirsty for her enemies.
.:Magic Abilities:. Eliaa is not familiar with sorcery, and, therefore, their queen has absolutely no magical abilities at all. When she first encountered magic, Celeste was both fascinated and repulsed by it, and, as such, Eliaa has remained magic-free, not by law, but simply because it is not socially accepted. She has studied very little of the history of magic and understands why it can be so dangerous. She does not share Arthur's and Uther's views on magic itself being evil.
.:Special Skills:. Celeste has a golden tongue, which will often unintentionally cause a man to become enamored with her. Due to ages of roaming a closed-gate palace, boredom lead to the armory, and she was taught to shoot arrows with ease and not often miss her target. Therefore, she is rather skilled at hunting, but though she has often been on a battlefield, she has not once personally killed a man (unless it was in self-defense, and that was with a knife)
.:Accents:. Celeste has the English accent of a noble. It is very soft and yielding, but it holds the weight of wise words.| ~ • ~ | History | ~ • ~ |
.:Birthplace:. Eliaa City, Eliaa
Queen Alexandra Caden of Bila~Sister
Celeste and Alexia are more than just sisters; they are the closest of friends. Often found conversing privately and laughing, Celeste trusts Alexia above almost everyone and always turns to her elder sister for advice. Alexia is nineteen, one year older than Celeste, and, therefore, it makes their relationship that much closer.
Lord Tobias Valacari~Husband
Along with Alexia, Tobias is Celeste's most trusted confidant. After two years of secret love and treacherous times, Tobias proposed to Celeste, and she accepted. Their relationship hit a stopping point when Celeste discovered that he was hiding her handmaid's treachery, and she banished him from Eliaa. Too late, she realized how much of a hole he had torn in her heart, and she mourned him for the longest time. After two agonizing months of separation, they reunited, and they married in secret, Tobias refusing to ascend into a higher position of power.
Queen Asha Denna of Eliaa~Mother (Deceased)
Celeste's relationship with her mother was tentative. Asha always feared for Celeste's life, and, as a result, she was very protective of her daughter. Celeste often felt anger at her mother’s suffocating restrictions, but proved that she truly did love Asha when the former Queen was assassinated by a resentful suitor by the name of Montague.
King Magnum Caden of Eliaa~Father (Deceased)
This relationship was also tentative, as Magnum always did what his wife desired. Celeste started to feel resentful of her father when he approved of allowing Montague to court the former princess, and she did not cry for her father when she discovered he had been killed in battle, only feeling remorse for never saying goodbye.
Queen Lily of Bila~Cousin (Deceased)
Lily, being eight years Celeste’s senior, served more as a loving older sister than a cousin. Lily lived in Magnum’s household until she married the newly widowed King Therin of Bila and adopted his newborn son, Montague. Celeste was heartbroken when Lily disappeared and never came home, and she often cries in remembrance of her motherly cousin.
King Montague of Bila~Second Step-Cousin (Deceased)
Celeste never liked Montague, and when he came of age to search for a wife, her dislike of the prince deepened. He was a vulgar, bloodthirsty and inappropriate man, turning his nose up at anything he believed to be beneath him. When he murdered his father and became King of Bila, Celeste grew to hate him, and she found great satisfaction in stabbing him and ending his short-lived reign of terror upon the people of Bila.
Celeste used to trust Sam with her life. She believed the girl to be naive, as Sam was always speaking of love and a happiness she never knew she could experience. Celeste told Sam everything about her life, trusting that Sam, as a friend since Celeste was very small, was in full allegiance with the Caden Crown. However, their relationship dissolved when Celeste discovered that Sam had betrayed her as a spy for Eliaa’s enemies, and was subsequently locked in the dungeons, due to Celeste not being able to bear to execute her former friend.
.:Occupation:. Queen of Eliaa
.:Current Location of Residence:. Eliaa City (known to the Eliaans as Ellen Palace)
.:History:. Celestina was born the second daughter of King Magnum and Queen Asha in the kingdom of Eliaa, located to the far north of Albion along with the foreign kingdoms of Bila and Lirameth. Caught up in the dark ages of Albion, her parents were running out of money and resources, and they vowed to keep both of their daughters as safe as possible. Growing up, Celeste did not realize how much she was valued as a child. Her sister, Alexia, refused to be tamed by her seclusion, and she influenced her younger sister to be strong and prepare for the day when the two would finally break free.
When Celeste reached adolescence, she started to scheme with Alexia. Her parents would never let the two leave Ellen Palace until the perfect suitor showed up, and Asha was too scared to let Celeste handle weapons.
No suitor fulfilled Asha and Magnum's expectations. They wanted someone worthy of ruling a kingdom, and the men who showed up were either too full of themselves, dangerous, or simply just not noble enough. Celeste wanted bravery, kindness, compassion, justice, and mystery.
It was not until she reached the age of seventeen that she found the man she was looking for, though he was not the suitor her parents had in mind. As a member of their own court, they had never thought of looking at home for the perfect person to save their daughter. She never spoke to him, out of fear of the retribution, but silent strolls in the gardens and little gestures were enough for her.
When she reached the age of eighteen, Prince Montague started to woo her sister. After multiple failed attempts on the steadfast and stubborn princess, Montague turned his attention to her younger, daintier sister, thinking that it really couldn't be that hard to pull the "naive" princess away from her safety. He proposed, and was shocked when she sharply declined and sent him away. Shaken by the experience, she feared for his return and the problems it would bring.
Her desire to leave Ellen Palace was greatly hindered by her longing to get to know her stranger, despite not even knowing his name. She was torn between loyalty to her sister, who is her best friend among all others, and her love for the handsome young man at her court.
It was not long afterwards that she finally did have the chance to speak to Lord Tobias Valacari, and when she did, it was with a great sinking feeling when she realized that she was completely smitten. Tobias was the most handsome man she had ever met, and when he spoke, it was with the voice of an angel, one that was filled with wisdom and nobility. They continued to develop their relationship until it was a full-on courtship, though they were very careful to hide it from Celeste’s parents, lest they turn down the one man she truly loved.
Finally, invading members of the corrupt kingdom of Lirameth came, led on by Montague. Montague had murdered his father and seized the throne of his kingdom of Bila, and he came, swearing to take Celeste as his wife, whether it be voluntary or by force. In the confusion, Celeste managed to escape with Tobias and his family, though not before witnessing the death of her mother at Montague’s own hands. She swore that she would one day have her revenge on the evil, arrogant king, and when she did, she would also take down the corrupt king Conrad of Lirameth.
After a month of roaming and gathering information, Celeste saved her dying sister from the battlefield. Through her, she learned that her father had died in a surprise attack that drove the enemy from the palace. Seeing as Alexia was the crown princess of Eliaa, she became ruler at the age of nineteen, too young to rule but with no living relative to serve as regent. She, as the spirited warrior that she was, had lead the Eliaans in battle against the Lirans, but the forces perished almost entirely and Alexia was gravely wounded. When fully healed, the two sisters returned to Eliaa and reinstated their claim on the throne. Once settled, they set out for Bila to end Montague’s reign of terror.
Celeste, her sister, and Tobias managed to sneak into the palace with the help of a diversion created by the other Valacaris, and Montague, frozen in fear and abandoned by his cowardly guards, was killed by a sword Celeste thrust into his chest. Montague was the last living member of his family, though, by Lily’s marriage to Therin, Alexia had a rightful claim to the Bilan throne. Concerned with the amount of power going to her with the claim of two kingdoms at once, she passed the throne of Eliaa to Celeste, due to the girl’s familiarity with her own country and Alexia believing that she could better control the troubled people of Bila.
The next few months were a blur to Celeste. It involved the imprisonment of her spying maid, a broken heart, and no more Tobias Valacari. It also was filled with snowy fields of red, covered with the blood of Lirans and Eliaans alike. Many allies died and many friends perished. The only light of the bloody period came with the reuniting of Celeste and her lover.
When Conrad finally fell and Eliaa fell into a state of peace, Celeste settled into a state of alliance with as many kingdoms as she could. Camelot was one. She often travels to allied kingdoms, seeking acceptance and as much knowledge as she can.
Eliaa is a small, mountainous kingdom to the north of Albion. The capital of Eliaa City is located on one of these mountains, with many outlying villages. The royal colors of Eliaa are similar to those of Camelot, with a much darker shade of red and metallic gold. The crest and flag of the Caden House is a gold phoenix on a red and pale yellow pattern. It is filled with forests and known for beautiful, long winters and lovely sunrises and sunsets.
Land of the plains, Bila is just that--A wide plain. Located to the south of Eliaa, it is known for fertile soil and hardworking people. The flag of Bila is a brown deer on a blue and sea foam green pattern, the colors of the kingdom.
A very military state, Lirameth is known for its vast majority of soldiers and fierce fighters. It was a dictatorship with an overpowering military until the Ice Queen stopped them. It is known for the vast forests that coat the kingdom. The kingdom’s flag and colors is a silver dragon over a deeper silver and emerald green pattern.
