Freya stood on the banks of Avalon, looking at the surrounding mountains. She loved it here, the flowers, the trees, the mountains, everything was perfect. The only thing that was missing, was Merlin. She knew he could never come here, his place was in Camelot with Arthur. He needed to follow his destiny, and she understood that. She would always be here if he needed her.. and she knew that day would come. Eventually.
She sat down at the edge of the bank, folding her hands in her lap. Normally she stayed in the lake, protecting it and keeping a weary eye on Merlin in case he needed her. But today was different, she wanted to enjoy her surroundings. The afterlife was supposed to be peaceful anyway.

Celeste hummed, dismounting her horse and tying her halter to a tree. She had been riding for a long time, breaking off from her group to be by herself, and she wanted to savor the moment. She was sore from a day's travel, and she removed her shoes, sighing in relief as her feet were freed from their bindings. She had picked the perfect place to stop. Looking behind her to make sure there was no one there, she pulled her crown from her head and tucked it into the horse's saddlebag, releasing her head and hopefully preventing a pin headache.
She was at peace, for once. A shining lake shimmered just beyond her. The young queen walked to the edge of the trees with her bare feet, sitting at the base of a pine and admiring the surroundings. It was a little like home, she noted. The mountains were just capped with snow, though she imagined that Mt Ellen was covered in snow back home. She wondered how Tobias, her fiancé, was doing, running a kingdom for her while she ventured into the land of her allies. She closed her eyes, basking in the cool mountain air, and sighed.

Freya watched the new comer curiously. She seemed young, yet she wore a crown that suggested she was a queen. Silently she walked over to her, sitting a little in front of her. Not enough to be obtrusive, but enough to have a conversation without raising their voices. She studied the young woman for a second, taking in her features before interrupting her peaceful thoughts. "Hello."
She smiled warmly, pushing strand of dark hair behind her ear. "Sorry for bothering you. Do you mind if I join you?" Freya was already sitting, and she wasn't planning on moving anytime soon. But she still felt it was polite to ask, especially to a royal. She glanced at the mountains again, thinking of her home before it was destroyed. "Don't the surroundings remind you of home?" She had a feeling that the young woman was thinking the same thing.

Celeste looked up to see a girl, maybe a few years older than herself, settled on the ground just in front of her. She smiled a little, glad to have friendly company that wasn't a group of Eliaan knights, though she was a little surprised that the girl had approached without her noticing. However, seeing that her attitude was amicable, Celeste smiled and returned the greeting. "Hello yourself. Go ahead and stay; it's very peaceful here."
However, the queen's expression quickly turned to one of alarm before it relaxed again in response to the girl's question. "You're absolutely correct. It does remind me of home. You're very intuitive, my friend." She looked up, admiring the snow-capped peaks of the mountains. "I never knew Camelot had such magnificent mountains. I thought it was only us who had them, and we have peaks to the extreme." Her face saddened at the memory of who lay at the top of Mount Ellen, the highest peak in Eliaa. "It's truly one of the most wonderful places in the world, being on top of a mountain."

She smiled lightly at the term 'friend'. She'd never been called that before, it was surprisingly nice. She watched the woman's face sadden, and decided to change the topic. "Are you here visiting Camelot?" She was always interested at the goings on in Camelot. She had to make sure her mischievous warlock was safe after all.
"Anything exciting going on?" She smiled sweetly, absently playing with one of the wild flowers that grew on the bank. There weren't as many flowers as her old home had.. but there was just enough to make the air smell sweet. That just went to show how much Merlin listened to her, he really did care.
