Guinevère could hardly believe it was real. There had been so much in their way, but now she was standing here with the man she loved more then anything in the world, and she was his queen! Being Arthur's wife had been something she'd thought impossible for so long, for different reasons, and yet, now they were here. Together. Forever. She couldn't stop smiling, or looking forward to the rest of their very long happy lives. To restoring the kingdom, to building a family, to everything that they could do together.
They--her husband and herself--where sitting at the banquet table, enjoying their wedding feast. The music was beautiful, their friends were near. She hear hear the knights laughing and joking--loudly--at which ever joke Gwaine currently enjoyed telling. Her brother was here, smiling happily as well! Percival and Leon had their heads through back in laughter. This was her family now!
Looking back over to her husband, she found herself smiling so brightly. She was happy! There was a lot of work before her, but she was happy! "Today was perfect," she told him, "and it's not even over yet." She couldn't imagine it getting better, but each moment it did! They's had promised to love each other forget, with all their hearts--and she meant it. She knew he did as well!

Tag: Guinevère Note: Better layout coming soon! for the love OF CAMELOT Arthur had not thought it would be possible to smile with this much genuine happiness. After all that had happened . . . after all that everyone had been through . . . this moment had felt as if it would be an impossibility. Yet, here they were. After wears of waiting, and overcoming all obstacles that they were faced with, they sat here. Together. United. Married. And Arthur was happy. Truly happy. There were so many times where he thought it would never happen. Where he had questioned perhaps, it was not meant to be. And for every time the thought entered his mind, he hated himself for it. Against all odds and all attempts of their enemies to keep them apart, they found each other. They were together and starting their journey in this life, hand in hand. It was fated, Arthur truly believed that.
He looked over at Guinevère who was smiling so brightly as she spoke to him. The expression was the same on his own features. Today was their wedding and the day after tomorrow would be her coronation. Arthur did not want to waste a moment. The people needed a strong, kind Queen to undo all the damage that Morgana had done. And he knew, that they already loved Guinevère. "It was," Arthur agreed, taking her hand in his and raising it to his lips so that he could kiss the back of it. "This is truly just the beginning," he told her. Not necessarily of their wedding day, but of the rest of their lives. He shifted a little closer to her, still holding her hand. "Would you accompany me to the grand hall?" He asked. Where there were more guests, drinks that were being served but most importantly . . . musicians. It was where he wanted to ask Guinevère for their first dance as husband and wife.

Arthur looked so handsome tonight, and she couldn't believe that after the weeks they've have that they were together again, in Camelot, at peace with so much joy. The kingdom had seen so much darkness, and now there was so much joy! It was wonderful! Apart of her feared she didn't deserve it, but she refused to let that ruin their night! This was the beginning of a new era for them. After years of something always being in their way (be it laws, or distance, or themselves) they had made it to each other.
"I would follow you anywhere," she promised, each out to take his hand. She meant it too. She didn't love him because he was a king, she would be with him if he was a farmer, or blacksmith, or baker. She'd be with him if he was a knight or servant. "I love you," and she was just glad she could say it to him now, after so long of not being able to say it. "With all my heart." She wasn't sure why she had done what she did, but it had not been love that made her do it. It had only been Arthur in her heart. She meant it now. She loved him more then she could explain.

Tag: Guinevère Note: Better layout coming soon! for the love OF CAMELOT Arthur would never grow tired of hearing those words. After so long of having to keep it only within their hearts, never daring voice them out of fear. And out of the pain that it could never be. But now . . . it was for the whole world to see. That they were in love. That rank and station could not separate them. That no hatred or darkness could cloud their light. Arthur had never felt more confident as king, than he did with Guinevère by his side. He smiled when she took his hand.
"I love you too." Just as he never tired of hearing the words, he never tired of saying them. He leaned forward, forehead resting against hers as he breathed. "With all my heart." The bright answer she had given him when he proposed, and he wanted her to know it was mutual. That he loved her too. With the entirety of his heart. Leaning back he rose to his feet, hand still holding Guinevère's as he helped her to hers, leading her to the grand hall where the middle of it showed dancing couples and around the border were those mingling, drinking, as food was set along the tables. "Would you do me the honour, of having our first dance as husband and wife?" Arthur asked her, the smile unwavering from his expression.

Guinevère smiled as she walked in, and took in how different the room looked then from when they'd taken it back from Morgana. "Would you do me the honor, of having our first dance as husband and wife?" Her eyes dropped from the room to her husband and she smiled at him so brightly she knew the smile was taking up half her face! Guinevère hadn't smiled like this in months!
"I would like nothing better, then to dance with my husband!" She told him, letting him move them to where they needed to be. "Arthur," she said his name in awe, "I can't begin to find the words to explain how wonderful this is. I love you." She'd just said that a moment ago, but after not being able to say it for months, she wanted to say it now. "I have for years, and . . . and this feels like a dream!" One she never wanted to awaken from!

Tag: Guinevère Note: Better layout coming soon! for the love OF CAMELOT He smiled as he led her to the designated area for dancing. He put one hand on her waist, the other took her own hand. He was standing closer to her though, as close as they good as he began to move, not even caring for the music that played. The crowd around them seemed to completely disappear; as if it was only him and his wife in the room. "I love you too," he told her, always feeling the need to say the words in return. He had banished her, and had walked away from her. He had nearly married another -- a couple of times -- and he had given occasionally given up hope.
But never, in any of those instances, did his love for her diminish. "That is something that has never changed," he told her, wanting her -- needing her -- to know that. "If anything, it has only strengthened." For years, they had waited for each other. And now, at long last, the wait was over. It was better it felt like a dream, than all the nightmares Camelot had befallen. "To this day, where I can call you my wife." For saying the word, made it more real. Made it more incredible. And, he truly loved the way it sounded.

Wife! She was his wife! Even as they danced before everyone, she felt the room narrow until it was just them for a few moments. Wife! Guinevère loved that finally they were here! It had taken them years, a love spell, dragons, war time, and even their own mistakes--her own mistakes--to get them here! And now that she was here, she felt so in love and in awe of him! Her husband!
After years of thinking they might not be together, and holding back on their love, tonight they would finally be together in the truest ways. She'd be his wife, in more then just name. There was a thrill to knowing that soon enough he would be taking her bed; but at the same time she was enjoying the dance and being here with him--no more hiding, and pining for something that 'one day' might be her's. He was her husband! They'd over come everything in their path, to be here together!
"I feel the same," she admitted, knowing that she loved him all the more then she'd had before. Arthur was truly the best king that the kingdom had seen in ages! Perhaps ever! And would ever seen again. He was brave, yet not foolish. He was kind without weakness. Forgiving. Which was how she ended up here. "I keep thinking about our first kiss. You kissed me, and then walked out, and I stood there . . . . knowing that I was falling for you and knowing it could never be. And yet . . . . I'm in your arms! I'm your wife!"

Tag: Guinevère Note: Better layout coming soon! for the love OF CAMELOT It seemed impossible to stop smiling, especially as Guinevère drew on their memory of the first kiss they shared. There were some memories of theirs that were painful, but not that one. That one, had been the moment Arthur had not been able to withhold how he felt. Everything had built to the point where his heart controlled him. More than his head. More than any rational thought. He had just . . . acted on his heart. And despite the conversation that came after, of how it could never be . . . well, that kiss was for the ages.
"I thought of nothing else in that moment, apart from the feelings I had for you." Feelings he had acted upon, on numerous occasions. Feelings that he -- they both -- fought for, which brought them to this moment, here and now. "And I'm glad I did," he added with a continued smile. For, who knows when they would have been granted another moment alone. He had been aware that his time with her was ending, and . . . he knew that he would forever regret it if he did not kiss her. "I still have it," he admitted. "The favour you gave me." He had worn kept it under his armour, close to his heart, and for all the years that followed, he had it safely tucked away.

Guinevère raised her brows at his words, "You do?" She asked, knowing he'd kept it for a time after wards, but YEARS later?! "I was so nervous to give it too you!" She told him, loving the memory of that moment. "You were a prince! You used to favors from ladies, and they were silk or bright fabrics to match their dresses. I knew it wouldn't actually bring you luck, but I wanted you to have it." And she still thought back to how her hands toyed with it before passing it over to him.
"I think your days as William is the days I realized I was falling in love with you. Spending time with you, talking about real things with you. Seeing you as a person, more then I had before. I didn't fall in love with a prince, but the man. I've always loved you that way. I always will." The title was just apart of the man, it didn't define him. "It is a bit disappointing though, that Sir William didn't come to the wedding." She teased him, knowing that everyone always wondered where he went! He was never seen again!

Tag: Guinevère Note: Better layout coming soon! for the love OF CAMELOT He gave a nod when she asked him with surprise that he actually still had it. He couldn't stop the smile when she continued to speak of how nervous she had been to give it to him. That he was a prince, and was used to fancier favours. It was true, that he had been given ones on the finest silk; expensive cloth, some even with jewels sewn in. However, none had meant as much as the one she had given him. And, he wanted her to know that. "I never kept any of the others," he told her truthfully. "Only yours." The rest held no sentimental value. Only Guinevère's. "And I wore it with pride." It didn't matter that it came from a servant, only that it came from her. From Guinevère. That was what mattered the most.
"I think it did bring me luck, considering how much worse the events could have gone," he told her. Since, well, he had been jousting against an assassin. That the lance had a blade at the end of it and . . . the injury had not been worse than what it was. It was good fortunate that the man lost his balance; that his stirrup had broken when it did. His smile softened when she spoke of how that had been the time she was falling in love with him; seeing him as a man, rather than a prince. "Ironic," he commented. "For that is how I wanted others to see me as." Not a prince, but a man. A competitor. "Yet in the time I spent with you, I longed for nothing more than for you to see me as such." Not as a prince; but a man, who's rank and status and title meant nothing.
He leaned forward, lips hovering close to hers but instead, just rested his forehead against Guinevère's. "I could not stop thinking about you after that," he admitted to her. Such conversations so much easier to have, now that they had solidified their union; solidified their future. "Perhaps I never will," he added on teasingly. Though when she spoke of William, a slight chuckle escaped him. "You never know. Perhaps he will be compelled to prove himself once more." Especially now that Arthur was king, for he had no intention of backing down from jousts and competitions.

"As much as I worry about you, I will still have a new favor for you, each time you ride out." She promised him, knowing that it would not only be for jousts and the melee--but the wars, and peace summits and every other thing that would take him from her side. She would always have a favor for him. Something to wish him luck, and to keep him safe.
Shifting her face, she rubbed her face against his, listening to his words. Deciding to be forward with her husband, Guinevère admitted more, "Those nights you spent in my house, were the closest I had ever come to sleeping with near a man." She missed his sounds when he was gone. Her house had felt slightly empty for a while. "Even still, I've never come close. Except the nights you held me." Sometimes she had slept in his bed, just holding each other. These were the only times she'd come close to sleeping with him.
She wanted him to know that tonight he'd be her first. She didn't' want him to have any doubts that she waited for him.

Tag: Guinevère Note: Better layout coming soon! 69th!!!!!!!!! for the love OF CAMELOT Arthur already hated the thought of leaving her, though he knew it would be inevitable. Still. Before he had fallen in love, it had been easier. He thought only of his duty to Camelot. He thought only of protecting the kingdom, and ensuring his father was safe . . . that he did not fail him. But since Guinevère, he found greater reason than ever to return. He hated leaving, knowing that he was not there to help protect her. Now, she would be queen, and while better protected, he also knew that she could be more targeted. Still. Such thoughts did not darken his mind. He hoped that this was indeed a new era for peace. Where together, they could build Camelot to be a strong kingdom, one that would no longer have such dark clouds looming over it. "I hope you will not need many," he told her, meaning, that he truly hoped he would not have to leave her side often.
All thoughts were set to rest however when she spoke of nights spent together. How it was the closest she had been to a man. It was indeed odd. That it should have been more awkward and perhaps on the first night of staying with her, it had been. But after that, it was . . . oddly comfortable. Arthur hadn't been able to understand or explain it. Until he realized what it would lead to. But the nights in which he held her, those had been ones more . . . difficult to maintain control. His body reacted in ways he could not help, and there had been times where he had struggle to sleep, need and desire threatening to take over. Somehow, it always passed. Whether it was him sneaking out of their embrace until he was in more control of him . . . or just, trying to force his body to settle.
Yes. It had been difficult, and not something he often spoke of for he had no desire to dishonour her. It only made him more excited for tonight, where he could truly show her how much he loved her. Where they could truly be together, in every sense of the word. Moving his lips forward a little, he kissed her cheek before placing them close to her ear, for his words were meant only for her and not to be overheard. "Some nights, more difficult than others," he told her, knowing -- hoping -- she understood what he meant. "Keep speaking of such things Guinevère, and we may have to cut our dance short," he said playfully.

Guinevère laughed softly at his words, or well threat to end their dance early. "I have no intention of doing either," she teased him, meaning that she didn't intend to cut their dance short, nor stop speaking to him like this. Guinevère liked knowing her words affected him. That he had wanted her, but not dishonored her. That it was tempting for him. She knew he was a man of honor, and that he wouldn't do anything to risk her--but she liked knowing that he thought about it.
She wanted to be beautiful for him. She wanted him to think her special--as she did with him. "We've waited so long for this moment," their wedding, "You would no dare end it too soon." Though she knew she too was egar for what was to come! Today she was wearing the most beautiful gown she'd ever seen, and Arthur looked the most handsome he had ever been! She wanted to be with him and for this night to last forever!
"And yes, that is my first order as queen," she teased more, "That you must keep dancing with me!"

Tag: Guinevère Note: Better layout coming soon! for the love OF CAMELOT Arthur smiled with amusement at her claiming that she was not going to do either thing. "Defiance," he commented playfully. "Though I suppose that was one of the first qualities of yours that intrigued me," he said in same playful tone. Her words in Ealdor, and then her brutal honestly when he stayed with her. He had appreciated it, and her courage to speak up . . . he honesty from the heart was one of the many things he most loved about her. Though she was right; they had waited years for this and he was not going to end it a moment too soon. He wanted her to enjoy it. He wanted to enjoy it.
After so long of hiding, and fear of being caught, and the fear of not being together . . . this day was incredibly special. Where the whole kingdom would see and know, that the two of them were husband and wife. He chuckled with amusement when she 'ordered' him to keep dancing with her. Drawing his head back so he could properly look at his queen. "Far be it from me to disobey the Queen of Camelot." Saying the words . . . it was still all so surreal. He knew that first and foremost, she was his wife. But to be able to call her wife and queen, made his heart swell with emotion. "But, as any husband, I am yours to command," he said jokingly, this time using word that united them by heart, and not status.

Defiance? Is that was yelling at a prince for being arrogant and a snob was? She found herself smiling, remembering the way he used to be. While he had greatness in him, he had always not thought beyond himself. He'd been young, and over time as he grew he had changed--and she couldn't help but to be so thankful she had seen this change in him. To have been there to watch him become this great king that he was already turning out to be!
He looked at her, and said he was her's to command; because he was her husband. "Save that for night then," she teased, hinting she'd give commands tonight. In truth, she wasn't sure she knew what to command him to do. They'd been close for a while, but tonight she was a bit nervous. They'd never been together, and she knew what to expect--but didn't knew what to expect. Yet she loved him, and trusted him above all else so while she was nervous, there was an excited undertone to it. An egarness. Her fingers that held his hand tightened slightly from her thoughts, and then brushed over his skin.

"Save that for night then," Tag: Guinevère Note: Better layout coming soon! for the love OF CAMELOT Arthur couldn't help the smile on his lips when s e said to save that for night. He was certainly going to remind her of her words later. But for now, he just moved with her as the music played . . . that is, until someone else cut in, wishing to have a dance with the queen. Arthur allowed his brother of heart to dance with her, taking a few steps back. He mingled with the crowd, enjoying the company of friends and family of heart. Until soon enough, the evening was reaching it's natural end. People were starting to retire for the night, as the hour was growing late.
Arthur was standing next to his wife, realizing that it would be a good time to make their leave. And . . . well, he -- and he supposed her and any others watching them -- knew what that meant. There was a slightly awkward feeling to that. Arthur had heard someone once tell him that in some kingdoms, the council would witness the act to ensure it was done. He shuddered at the horror of that. Fortunately, Camelot did not hold such . . . traditions. "Shall we?" He asked, offering his arm to her, showing that it was time and . . . well, wanting to make sure she was alright with that.

Guinevère loved tonight! She danced until the evening begin to turn to night, and most of them was with her husband. He was on her arm the whole night, and they laughed, and teased, and were happy the whole night! She danced with her brother, and shared a drink with Gwaine, and laughed with Percival. Leon spoke of her mother, and the whole night was a dream! The most wonderful and perfect dream she ever had!
Arthur spoke to her, asking if she was ready; and while the answer was always yes she hesitated before answering him. Not from fear, or nerves but in anticipation. Smiling up at him, she nodded her head. "Yes," she told him, no longer as bold as before since they were about to walk out of the room together--and everyone would know what that meant. She could pray they didn't walk past Gwaine--who might have disappeared with a lady.
Stepping closer, she smiled up at him. In some traditions the bride left first, and was made ready for the husband. Guinevère had no intention of letting him go for that. Besides, she'd slept with him before. They'd held each other during some nights when they couldn't be along. She'd just never . . . . slept with him before. Linking their arms, she tired not to look at anyone but him, knowing her cheeks were turning faintly darker.

Tag: Guinevère Note: Better layout coming soon! for the love OF CAMELOT Arthur smiled softly when she confirmed she was ready and linked her arm through his. He had already spoken to Merlin about taking the night -- and next morning -- off. Just in case the man wouldn't assume that he was unneeded at these times. Giving a few nods to those who bid them goodnight, Arthur was glad once they were out in the hallway so that they no longer had prying eyes, and knowing smiles from those who dared. Mainly one or two people that Arthur could assume would form such an expression.
Arthur was well aware of the traditions that were involved when it came to a newly wed king and queen. But, if there was one thing they were not . . . it was traditional. Still, he wanted to make sure she was . . . ready. Or alright with all this. "Did you, want to go to your chambers first?" She had been given quarters, though they both knew they would be sharing a room. Yet another broken tradition, and one Arthur was most glad for. She had however prepared in a separate room and he wanted to check and see if she wished to go there first before . . . going to his. It would give him some idea as to where to escort her now.

Her chambers? They would be gone tomorrow, and she had already had her things for tomorrow taken to his--to their chamber. Guinevère smiled up at him, and shook her head, as they walked down the hall. She wasn't looking where she was going, relying on him to guide them as she could only continue to smile from today. "I have no need to visit," she told him, wishing to begin their lives together in their new room.
She had to look away from him when they reach the steps, as falling would ruin tonight. She remembered the first time she climbed these steps, and feeling so small compared to the citadel's size. Now it was her home, that she would share with her husband. As they neared the door, she slowed her step, and then slowly came to a stop. "I feel as if we've waited for this moment for so many years . . . " she din't know quite how to explain it. On one hand she was so ready for this moment, and on the other hand she worried it wouldn't live up to the expectations.
"I love you," before they begin, she needed him to know again. Needing to kiss him, to feel the peace that came with his love before they entered the room where he would make her his wife in more then just name, Guinevère stepped into his arms and kissed him in the hall.

Tag: Guinevère Note: Better layout coming soon! for the love OF CAMELOT It seemed impossible to stop smiling today, as she explained that she had no need to visit . . . that they had waited so long for this moment. It was true. Arthur was only too glad that in the years of promises he had made to her, he was now able to fulfil it. That her willingness to wait, would not be done in vain. That today, marked the first of many together. United, as husband and wife. After all they had been through to get here, he knew that every challenge, and every obstacle . . . was worth it. He slowed as they neared his door, arms opening when she stepped inside them as he closed his eyes to return the kiss, basking in the sensation it always provided her.
He could feel his heart beating with anticipation and . . . nervousness. Because she had waited for him. Chose him. And tonight, she would allow him the opportunity to express his love for her in ways they had never explored before. He only wished, he could do it justice. Easing out of the kiss he smiled, lips hovering close to hers. "I love you," he whispered, letting the moment linger before wanting to grant them the privacy of once his, now their chambers.
With another light touch of her lips, he pushed opened the door, allowing her to step in first. Around the room were candles, much like when he had decorated her home for his first proposal. And, knowing her love for flowers, rose petals sprinkled the floor, and some on the bed . . . along with a vine of flowers decorating the board on the foot of the bed along the outside base. Tonight was indeed special and he wanted everything to be perfect.
