for the love
OF CAMELOT
Finally, balance was restored to the kingdom. There had been a bit of . . . tension to say the least. With the 'queen' having made decisions that created uncertainty among the people, and Arthur included, it all made sense now. As soon as the enchantment against his father was broken, and Catrina the troll was killed, everything went back to what it was. The first thing being, Arthur's reinstatement as Uther's son, crown prince, and heir to the throne. His father had disowned him, disinherited him, and Arthur had believed he meant it. He believed the king to be so disappointed in his only child that he would strip him of any title and reject association. It had devastated Arthur, but now, to know it was not truly his father but rather, the result of an enchantment . . . relief set in, and everything was as it should be.
With the kingdom quickly recovering, it was indeed time for a reason to celebrate and what better cause than a knighting ceremony. Especially now that Arthur was able to resume his position leading and training the men. Once they were knighted, Arthur went to one in particular, noticing he held no cup in his hand and planned to rectify that. "Sir Lucas," he said, approaching the young knight, and purposely using his newly appointed title. The man had earned it: passing the test of lasting in combat for a minute with Arthur.
He showed great promise, and Arthur was proud of him for how far he'd come. He handed Lucas a cup before standing alongside his newest brother in arms. "Are you enjoying the celebration?" Arthur asked, glancing around the crowd before taking a sip of his wine. "Try not to drink too much, even though we don't have training until the afternoon tomorrow," he said, a clear tease in his voice. He had purposely moved down training from the morning to afternoon so that everyone could just, enjoy tonight. They deserved it.
