Guinevère was waiting for Merlin's friend to come so she could help them! While she knew that lying to a king was dangerous, she trusted Merlin to have thought this out! She liked Merlin! He was a nice guy and she hoped they could keep growing! . . . as friends! Clearly as friends! Before he got sick she had wondered if it could be more, but she knew now that there was only a brotherly love there. She'd kissed him when he got better, and that had told her everything she needed to know. No passion. Just a fondness. Merlin could one day even be hr best friend!
Which was why when he asked her to make clothes for a knight, she'd agreed! It's what friends did. A knock on her door told Gwen that someone was here. Smiling she walked over toward it, turning to make sure the house was clean before opening it. Then she turned, and pulled the door open--to find her eyes staring at board shoulders. Looking up she found his face, and her smile turned a little brighter. Merlin hadn't said his friend was handsome! Not that Merlin would think that way! "Hullo," She greeted, and stared for a moment, then seemed to see what she was doing and blushed while stepping back! "Come in!"
It was finally happening. Lancelot was finally making his dream come true. he was finally going to be one step closer to being a Knight of Camelot even when told he couldn't. and none of that would have happened if he haven't met Merlin.
Merlin took care of the papers but Lancelot did not feel like he looked like a knight. At least not one that will pass the test. He had no knight armor nor some fancy cloths and he sure did not look the part. He was worried, never in his life he had to pretend to be someone he's not. If he was to be caught he wouldn't fear for his life but for those who helped him. Merlin and his friend whom he'd not have meet yet.
He never had the chance to fully embrace the air nor the view of the kingdom's streets so when Merlin guided him towards the house of his friend he used that chance to look around him. There were people everywhere he looked. Unlike the other places he visited during his travels. And the air smelled different here, there was no smoke, no fire. For once he was in a place where the air smelled fresh. His eyes turned towards the door they were now standing in front of when Merlin informed him they were here. He gave him a smile as he gently knocked on the door.
He doesn't know who the other person was he only hoped he wasn't causing them any troubles by dragging them into this mess.
When the door swung open Lancelot froze in place. He could not believe his own eyes.
He was just admiring the beauty around him and when he thought he'd be done a beautiful woman shows up right in front of him. The way she smiled had Lancelot feel something within himself he'd never felt before. He didn't know what it was and he didn't have time to think of it either. He blinked softly a few times to try and bring himself back to reality.
Once he was in the house he looked around him a little to try and break the eye contact " uhh.. thank you ". he said softly with a slight smile on his face
he turned around to face her one more time. He couldn't keep his eyes off her she was something he'v never seen like before.
" for agreeing to help" he finally managed to say soon after.
As he entered, Gwen stayed by the door so she could shut it. When his back was too her she smoothed out her yellow dress, wanting to make sure she was presentable. Gwen wanted to check her hair, but that would be obvious! She realized she wanted too because she wanted him to think she was pretty. Not that it would matter, he would soon be a knight! "uhh.. thank you for agreeing to help" Smiling brightly up at him, "You're welcome."
She was glad to help! She wanted to help. For Gwen she thought this almost adventurous! She trusted Merlin to make sure that his friend didn't get hurt or caught! Merlin had a good heart to help his friend. "I hope this request won't trouble you." "A friend of Merlin's is a friend of mine," she began, her hand folded before her. Gwen had a nervous habit of rambling or over explaining so she tried to make sure her word were simple! The last thing she wished to was embarrass herself around him! "It wont be trouble! I quite enjoy it actually . . . not trouble, but making things! Helping people."
"I'm Guinevère, but everyone calls me Gwen." She held out her hand to him so they could shake hands and meet before she would end up with her hands all over him to measure for his clothes. Which sounded wrong in her head, so she was grateful she hadn't said that allowed!
Gwen blinked as he took her hand and bent over it. He kissed her hand! Like the knights did to the ladies! She felt her heart jump at the gesture, and her cheeks warmed from a slight blush. No one hand ever done that. She'd seen it done before, many times. Morgana had had her hand kissed more times then Gwen knew, but never had anyone done it too her. It made her feel important, and pretty, and . . . something else.
She stood there for a moment, smiling softly up at him before she blinked and remembered why he was here. "There is no need to thank me, thank Merlin." She told him while she moved to pick up the measuring cloth she used to measure for clothes. She could make little marks and record everything. "Merlin would do anything for anyone!" She held a slightly amused tease in her voice, while still filled with honestly. Merlin and her had that in common, though Gwen would never admit it.
She stepped up closer to him, and knelled near his legs so she could wrap the cloth around his calves, and then move it higher to his thigh. Trying to ignore her feelings of that, she marked them as she stood. Moving swiftly, and with practice ease. "I think it's good." She told him, "We need more mean like you!" She said encouragingly as she stepped behind him and begin to measure down his arm.
Gwen slowed as she was behind him, noticing how broad his shoulders were. Her fingers moved to take his measurements, and her fingers ended up brushing over him as he turned to look down at her, "You do?" he asked, and for a moment she thought, yes I do. Yet he was a stranger in a way still, even if she felt at ease around him. A comfort that felt natural. She wondered if she'd get a chance to get to know him. Learn what made him want to be a knight so badly, that he would risk his life for it.
"Not me personally!" She over corrected her voice slightly higher and faster then before. Her cheeks warmed slightly from the blush. "Camelot!" She explained more, even after her first explanation was clear enough. "We all do," she did such things when nervous. Spoke too much, or explained too much. And she was a little nervous, because she did want him to like her. He'd kissed her hand and spoken to her like what she had to say mattered. It was different then what she was sued too from knights. She'd once told Merlin that she liked ordinary men--but Lancelot didn't seen ordinary. He seemed something more.
My name is Catherine by the way; Call me Kate. *Smiles* You're lucky to have your mother, I ... wish I had at least someone I can talk to, You know? At least i have Arthur. *sits by the window and looks out*
