Guinevère was growing slightly desperate. Gaius had turned Merlin in for being a sorcerer? Gaius the same man whom Gwen thought was like Merlin's father at times had either framed or betrayed Merlin. She did not believe Merlin used magic, but she had just as much trouble believe Gaius would betray Merlin if he was. Was it true then; with what Merlin had claimed about a goblin?
She would worry about truth and fiction later, for now Gwen spent her day trying to find a way to prove Merlin innocent. Morgana did not even seem to care, which she found odd. A year ago Morgana would have stood up in the king's face and made demands; now she seemed to encourage him.
She could NOT face Arthur again, no, but she had to help Merlin. She went home that night, deciding to get a few hours of sleep before seeking Merlin out in the dungeons below and asking if he had any ideas. She was NOT going to leave him there to rot; he had never left her.
It took longer then expected for her to drift off, and after only a few hours she jerked awake hearing some sort of noise. The sounds of alarm bells and knights marching out side made her grab a near by candle stick before crawling from her bed. Brave at heart she might be, Gwen was not fighter. She was reading a large scream for when (if) she found out the noise was not of of over worked mind. . . .

Merlin had had to get out of that cell. Gaius was possessed by a Goblin that he had let out, and he would be damned before he'd let the Goblin ruin Gaius' and everyone else's life! Escaping the cell had been easy enough, with magic, anyone could obtain a set of keys from a guard sleeping right there. He hovered them closer to himself with magic, being careful, and cringing when two keys fell of the hook. Luckily the guard didn't wake up. Using the keys, he'd open his cell and make a quick run for it. He didn't have much time before someone would notice that he had escaped.
He had a lot of annoyance from the Goblin, telling Uther and everyone else he was a sorcerer and getting him locked up. Then there was Arthur, he couldn't believe the man would just let him rot in the dungeons or be killed. What could he say, though, he was the king's son.
He had one place in mind to go to: Guinevère's house. He knew he could trust her, knew that she wouldn't rat him out and get him thrown back in prison. So he made his way towards her home. He could only trust her in this, she was the only one who could help him, and in so doing, help Gaius. He had made it to the back entrance of her house when the warning bells sounded. He was thankful that it had taken so long for the guard to wake up and notice. He had a lot less guards to worry about because of this.
He silently opened the door and slipped in, sneaking in in the dark. It appeared Gwen was already awake, and he didn't want to frighten her, so he moved up behind her. He also didn't want her to hit him with the candle stick. Quickly, now, so she wouldn't cry out, he came up behind her and grabbed her arm with on hand, and clasped the other over her mouth. Spinning around, he whispered a quiet, "Shh!" before looking towards the window, where guards were running by, looking for him.
[I'll make a pretty picture/word layout for his tomorrow, lol.]

She felt a moment of fear as someone grabbed her from behind and her breath froze in her lungs. She knew that would have been her down fall had the same person not moved were she cold see him. When her eyes found his face she knew she was in no danger; from him. It however, opened up a whole another level of trouble. Merlin was supposed to be in the cells below the castle! How had he escaped? (How did people keep escaping?)
At lest this explained the warring bells, and the sounds of knights running around. Uther would be trying to kill Merlin on sight for having anything to do with magic! She knew Merlin was not responsible for all the mishaps around the Castle and town; but the king did not see reason. She knew all to well how it was to be blamed for witchcraft. "How did you escape?" She asked in a whisper, "The guards are going to kill you on sight if you are caught!" Just as they had with her father. The same would not happen with Merlin; if she could not help him clear his name she would help him get out of the city.
