Alistair walked slowly up to the castle wall and paused looking around casually. He was once again wearing the armor of Gwent, from yet another knocked out knight. It had been a bit harder this time, for Gwent had was more armed knights around them Camelot. Then again, when he broke into the Camelot's castle there had been a rather large event going on and people thought he belonged.
He was waiting there for a old child 'friend' to catch up with him. He wasn't sure if this man was his friend but they did allot of things together. Alistair knew however that should something happen, Vaughn would not be coming over the hill in shining armor.
Today he had one goal. It wasn't even a goal that was noble. When Alistair spent time with Vaughn he tented to let himself be talked into doing less then moral things. Today, that less then moral things was to sneak in to 'her' bedroom. Maybe even kidnap her again. Alistair however thought he could perhaps try to find out some information needed. Camelot was under attack, and he wanted to know how he could help . . . . . the other side. Let Uther fall.

::vaughn:: Every man must decide whether he will walk in the light of creative altruism or in the darkness of destructive selfishness.
If there was one thing that Vaughn loved, it was a challenge; especially if that challenge served no purpose. Tonight would be one of those cases. He would team up with Alistair; an acquaintance. He was someone Vaughn spend more time with than anything in the past few years. He did not like to be attached to anyone and while he did not see himself as attached to the other man, he did tend to have fun with him. So why not. Vaughn was dressed in his usual dark armor. He watched from a distance for a few moments, before making sure that the guard wearing the crest of Gwent was Alistair and not the actual guard.
Vaughn approached him. "That is a nice color on you," he mocked, looking at Alistair with a 'you look ridiculous' expression. "Ready?" He asked, not really caring about the answer. A sinister smile played on his lips. He would take as much gold and riches as he could carry. After all, a man had to eat. And drink. And have some fun. Vaugn did not care so much if he stuck out. As long as one of them was dressed like a knight from Gwent, he could vouch for the man who was not. He kept his sword in the holder, wondering how stupid the guards were, and if they really could just stroll through the castle gates.

Alistair shot Vaughn an annoyed glance when he spoke about nice colors. Alistair hated the feel of the heavy armor on him. He liked the lighter feel of nothing. Just a sword in his hands. It let him move freely, silent and quicker. Granted it got him more injuries, but it he had never lost a fight when his life was on the line.
Besides, he was a hunter and tracker more then a knight like Vaughn. Vaughn was a fighter, using steal to win his wars. Alistair was the one to play the game, and attempt to win.
"Shut up." He told him, before looking around. Vaughn was a very bad influence over Alistair but in this case he wanted that influence. He wanted to get in. "They are not going to just let us walk in." He looked up above them. "How's you climbing skills?" He asked with a grin.

Every man must decide whether he will walk in the light of creative altruism or in the darkness of destructive selfishness.
Vaughn was a bit disappointed that they would avoid their first potential fight, but getting in was Alistair's goal: not engaging in combat. "And here I was, overestimating the guards intelligence," he said as he looked up at the wall, quickly mentally figuring out the best route to climb to the nearest window. Once he got that quick mental image, he commenced the climbing process. He expected Alistair to follow or climb along side him.
"Don't fall. Your head will be smashed and your blood will forever stain the ground of Gwent. Such a disappointing place to end ones life." Vaughn did not fear death, but to die in such a way, would just be ridiculous. He was not impressed by this kingdom. He was not impressed by any kingdom but he would still rather not die in a place that left some sort of legacy or part of him. A blood stained ground was one of them.

Alistair watched as Vaughn started the climb, "I do not plan to die here." Not where she would find him. "You should be the one to worry. All that ego must be heavy." Alistair warned him in a joking way. He waited until Vaughn was up the wall enough that there would be space between them, and then started his own climb near were he was standing. Alistair was not used to wearing armor, much less climbing in it, but he was a strong sort and was able to make the climb.
They were only going up a few stories, so the climb was not very high, but took effort all the same. The walls were not meant to be climbed. Alistair came to an window and pushed on it, finding it unlocked. He gave a mental thanks to whatever servant had not locked it and climbed though it. Looking around he paused . . . he was in some sort of storage closet.

Vaughn chuckled, even while climbing up. He had gone to the window on the side of the one Alistair entered in. Before Vaughn went in though, he motioned to Alistair, pointing to the room he was about to enter, which was his indication to meet him in the hallway. They would either be entering the same large room, or ones that were right next to each other. When Vaughn got inside, he bumped into something. Damn it. It was too dark. Using what spatial skills he had, he held his hands out, not taking long to find a piece of the wall that moved: the door. He nearly stumbled out into the hallway where it was a bit better lit due to the torches along the wall.
He grabbed one and held it in the room trying to see what had been in there. Was there anything worth stealing? Not really. There was some odds and ends. Still, Vaughn grabbed a few pieces of cloth that would probably serve to be of some use in the future. After all of their kidnapping expeditions, who knew. He stuffed them in his bag; thankfully it was not too bulgy. When he went back into the hallway, he waited for Alistair to come. "I got some cloth to wrap the bodies in," he said, somewhat jokingly. "Just in case next time our venture does not go according to plan, again." The very first one had not. Thanks to Alistair's bizarre emotions. No matter. It was not something Vaughn held against him. They had still gotten the money, so in the end, it all worked out....for Vaughn at least.

Alistair moved straight ahead and managed to find the door. He slowly opened it in time to see Vaughn all but burst thought his. They were unlike in so many ways that it was almost odd they spent so much time together. Alistair was a thinker, a planner and did not seek to hurt others unless he had to. Vaughn was quick to the draw and spent more time enjoy tormenting others then he did thinking about wither it was a good idea or not.
It was his words however, that bothered Alistair more then his actions at times. "You. Are. Not. Going. Near. Her." He stressed to Vaughn, in his deep voice. He made sure each word was clear as crystal. Alistair had the misfortune of letting his emotions get involved when he kidnapped Isadora. While he would not admitted it to most, Vaughn had been witness to it. It was something Alistair wished he had not seen what he did.

Vaughn could not refrain from chuckling at Alistair's dead seriousness when it came to her. So ridiculous. It would be far more fun if he had an accomplice who was not such a softy. Then again, this would be something fun to provoke him with. He did not take Alistair's threat seriously at all. While he may have meant it, and he probably did judging from the sternness of his voice, Vaughn was not afraid to challenge the threat. "All is fair in love and war. You have played the first part, now I will play the second." War. Injuring. Killing. Death. While did not plan to seek out the princess and kill her, he was just entertaining the idea only because Alistair was so against it.
He began to walk down the hallway, still holding the torch and expecting Alistair to walk with him. "Did she tell you anything useful of her castle when you two spent all that time together?" Vaughn wanted to know where the gold and riches were, as it was different in every castle. It would be fun to explore it in the meantime though. Still. It would be helpful if Alistair got something out of here, other than intimate pleasures.

Alistair looked down the hall, doing his best to ignore Vaughn. They both knew he wasn't the talking type, and thanks to that he had not spent allot of time talking to her. Kissing her, dressing her, and abusing her Yes, talking to her, No. Going with the ignore Vaughn plan, he started walking down the hall, staying close to the wall so not to though shadows.
He did not know anything about the castle, only about the woman who ruled it and a small bit about her father (who shared his name). The father was ill, something common knowledge from what he'd learned in from the people. Still, not one could say why he was ill. was someone close to him poisoning him or was he just frail? Why did he even care? The man would order his death for just being a druid wouldn't he. "We need to find the steps, move upwards."

Thats the best he got from her? How far gone was this man? How much did he care for the woman? Vaughn paused moments after he informed him that they were moving upwards. He turned to face Alistair. He was standing close to him, and looking directly at him. "If you have grown too much of a soft touch for her, then leave now because I do not intend of just getting a tour of the place." Vaughn was planning to steal things, and kill anyone who got in his way. But he was not sure what Alistair's intentions were. Yes, he had come with him thus far, but he had also kidnapped the princess with him, only to have things take a drastic turn.
"Decide now Alistair. For I will deal with you accordingly if you get in my way." Vaughn said it in both a serious and mocking way. A strange combination. While he was completely serious, a crooked smile played on his lips. He would give Alistair a few moments if he was torn, and then move forward with his plan.

Alistair turned to look at Vaughn, and he stood up tall. Alistair was a tall man, and was a few inches over Vaughn. Vaughn was better with a sword, and more used to the heavy chainmail they both wore at the moment; however, Alistair was quicker and did not go for dramatic displays. Neither man knew who might win in a knock down, all out, fight to the death. They had never come close to know either, until the Princess entered their lives. (and not even by her choice).
"Steal what you like, do what you will; but do not go near her." Alistair said in his same deep voice, yet there was a warning edge to it. Alistair was banking on Vaughn silently obeying, but running his mouth as if he would not. Alistair was the brains behind the kidnappings. Vaughn did not have the give-a-damn to keep the nobles alive, and needed Alistair. Besides Alistair's war ageist the king gave Vaughn reasons to fight and kill, something he loved. Alistair had never asked things from Vaughn, but this. If Vaughn broke it; Alistair would end the 'friendship' in the same moment Vaughn did so. Alistair did not like caring for the princess, for no one had ever gotten so close or under his skin before; but he did and in his mind she was his. He'd protect what was his. Alistair did not break eye contact, knowing Vaughn saw this as a weakness and he had to proof otherwise.

Vaughn scoffed, letting out a half snicker. He did not take well to commands or orders, so completely dismissed Alistair's. Of course, it helped that he had no reason to kill the princess, even if he had said things that suggested otherwise. Women we men's weaknesses, and it was truly pathetic and precisely why Vaughn never formed attachments with any women. He would have fun with them, but everything was non committal, and it was best that way. Alistair was a prime example of what happened when things changed. She was softening him up, and Vaughn was losing his accomplice.
"Well then it is a good thing she is not here to get in my way," he said, before turning and continuing to walk ahead. Tonight, they would not have to fight over how to deal with the princess of Gwent. She away from her castle, and that was part of the reason they were here. Well, it was part of the reason why Vaughn had chosen now to come. He still questioned Alistair's motives, but would let it go for now.

Alistair watched as Vaughn took the lead and walked away. Some men took a look at their relationship and saw Vaughn as the leader, and Alistair as the silent follower. It was not so. Yes, Vaughn could talk him into doing some more villain-like actions but Alistair did not blindly follow, and no one should mistake his silence as meekness. It was just the other way, his silence was a deadly calm that was a fence around wisdom. It hid it well.
Vaughn thought the princess was away, but in truth Alistair did not know for sure. She could be here, right now. She was the fire and he was the moth. Still, either way he did not plan to let their paths cross, for it they did he might not resit the urge to take her with them when they escaped. Vaughn would be fore another random, but he doubted she and her father would take well to the news. Alistair did not reply to Vaughn, and instead followed silently along behind him as they moved about.

Vaughn continued to walk, and walk and walk....until finally, a staircase came into sight. Finally. He did not even care how far behind Alistair was. He just moved up the stairs at a moderate pace. Not too eager, and not in much of a rush in case guards came. Guards would make this adventure far more entertaining. Would Alistair kill them? Or was his strange affection for the princess too great? There would only be one way to find out and put those questions to the test. "Do your visions not show you anything useful?" He asked, slightly mocking, slightly serious.
Vaughn did not fully understand Alistair's visions. He did not ask much about it either though. He knew because they had spent enough time together for them to be impossible to ignore. It did intrigue Vaughn though. One of the reasons he knew using Alistair in these endeavors could be beneficial and give them one up on everyone else.

"I see you being a pain in the ass all night, other then that; No." Alistair replied to Vaughn in the same tone as Vaughn used. It was not the first time Vaughn had asked him that over the years, and this was Alistair's normal reply if the answer was no.
The steps upwards would lead to personal quarters and treasury. As much as he did not want anything to hurt the princess, he was not ageist letting Vaughn steal some things from the castle. Just nothing from her room. Even if Vaughn took something, Alistair knew he would just find a way to return it to her.
At the top of the steps there was a long hallway. 'You go right, I will go left. See what we can find." Alistair said, as he turned to the left. The doors to the left were made of darker wood, and looked a bit wider, meaning it was most likely bed rooms. The doors to the right were open, and no light came from with in. Empty guest rooms or offices or something.

Vaughn chuckled at Alistair's statement. "You do not need premonitions to know that." It was no secret that Vaughn enjoyed tormenting and irritating others. He took pride in it and found it fully entertaining. He looked to both the left and the right when Alistair suggested that each one go the one way. He did not care where he went, as long as it was somewhere that had something valuable to take. It was a good thing Vaughn had the torch because his designated side was a bit darker.
As he opened the door, doing it slowly so that he was prepared for anyone who might be inside, he shined the light, only to see an empty chamber. Hm. Disappointing. He stepped inside, surveying the room before walk around it, looking for somewhere of value. The sheets looked expensive, but not something worth stealing. There were small ornaments for decoration, but nothing that really caught Vaughn's eye. They had limited space and he was not going to waste it on useless things. He rummaged through the drawers and cupboards only to be disappointed by finding nothing inside. There wouldn't be anyone here as it was if the Princess and King were out of the kingdom.
Boring.
Vaughn just took a few of the useless ornaments, figuring they could get a little something for the silver on it, before exiting the room. The next room was an office. Completely empty of any human life form, and there was just papers neatly folded on the various tables. He rummaged through them, finding maps of the kingdom and some blueprints of the city. He took the piled and dumped them in the bag, rolling the maps and tucking them in his pocket. He had no idea what he was going to do with them, but you never know. Maybe if someone was ever at war with Gwent, these papers would be of value. He grabbed a few more piles, deciding to sort through them later. He adjusted the bag so that the cloth he had first grabbed was covering them. He did not want Alistair to make him leave them and so would show them when they were well away from here.

Alistair check two of the four rooms on the hall and found them both empty. They were void of any signs that someone lived in them. One was larger then the others, but still held no personal things. The next room was not some empty. He walked slowly into it and noticed some of the girl like things around it. Had he found her room?
After a short moment of standing there he walked over the to chest at the end of the bed and flung it open. He had saw it do that when he kidnapped her, and had assumed she would always keep cloaks there. By what he found in there, he was sure this was her room. He ran quickly to the door way to look out and make sure Vaughn was not coming then shut the door.
Alistair walked over to her bed and sat on it, sinking some in it's softness. This was the world she lived in everyday? The world he could never be apart of? He pulled the small, thin twin daggers from his boot and sat them on her bed. After a moment, be pushed the overs over them. He had found them, and bought them for her knowing he would never get the chance to give them to her. Leaving them for her was the close as he could come.
He sat there, looking around her room, trying to summon the will to leave before Vaughn can in and found him like this. Vaughn was as close to a friend as he had but still the man knew just how to push one's buttons. Standing Alistair made his way tot he door to leave.

When Vaughn had felt he had finished with the office, he left, looking in the hall but did not see Alistair. He must be in one of the desginated rooms. But just because he told them to scope opposite sides, did not mean Vaughn was going to stick to this plan. He opened the first door on the left, and saw that no one was inside. He did not trust Alistair to get anything that may be of good use. As he previously recognized, Vaughn was unsure of Alistair's intentions of coming here. Was he just along for the ride? Or had he actually taken something with the intent to sell it or use it to buy something for him or his people, since he tended to think of them a lot of the time.
Vaughn heard movement in the next room. The door had begun to creak, meaning someone was opening it from the other side. Vaughn casually placed one hand on the handle of his dagger which was at his side. It may not be necessary quite yet to pull the sword out from its sheath, as it was strapped to his back and would make more of a scene if this man was not.... Alistair. It was just Alistair. When the door had opened, Vaughn had been directly there and stared at the druid for a moment, before looking past him to see which room it was. It was a royal chamber. Wait. It was her royal chamber.
Figures. Vaughn walked past Alistair with a delighted smile on his face. "So you found her room. Did you find anything interesting inside?" Of course Vaughn would not trust his answer. He would have to look for himself. He went to the dresser and began rummaging through the small boxes which would contain some jewelry. And contain jewelry they did. "You seemed to have forgotten to look here Alistair. I am surprised you walked away without a single gold piece." How infatuated was Alistair with this woman? Enough to walk away from the treasures and wealth her room held? Ridiculous. Utterly ridiculous.

Alistair did not turn as Vaughn walked around him to look at things. he just stood there, knowing what was to come. He was rather glad he had hidden the gifts of the daggers under her covers in the bed. He stood there while he heard Vaughn looking around, knowing Vaughn was going to line his pickets with whatever he found.
Alistair would just have to make sure his 'cut' was all of her things. He would have to find a way to return them. He did not want to be the cause if heartbreak should of these things turn out to be her mothers, or something. Women got angry over things like that.
Even if he could not be around her ever again, then he could at lest remind her he was watching from the shadows. Creepy. "I did not think you were the type to collect women's hair decorations." He turned to look at Vaughn, "You do wear your hair like a woman's, which one matches your armor better?"

::vaughn:: Vaughn chuckled at Alistair's teasing. He did not take such things seriously, nor was he offended in the least by the druid's words. It was amusing if nothing else. "I would have to say that this gold one here matches the best," he said, holding up a gold bracelet. Gold. Such a wonderful material. "I do believe it matches my skin tone rather well," he added chuckling as he put it in his pocket. Some of these expensive pieces should go in his pocket rather than the bag, just to be on the safe side in case anything were to happen to it.
"Do you not want to find the one best suited for you?" He asked, sticking picking away at the different jewelry she just left here. It was ridiculous how much wealth people squandered. Vaughn would never understand it. Having resided with three sisters in his previous lifestyle, he knew that vanity a woman had, and even sometimes men. "Gold. Silver. Diamonds. All of these will go with just about anything and everything." He meant that more of a, 'it is all going to make us wealthy' type of way. Vaughn was not the kind of man to suck dry all the wealth of another, though he had opportunity to do so. It was more about being the one in power to do so. The fact that he was able to do it made it better than actually going through with it.
Such as now. He would not steal everthing; just enough for her to know that some things were missing. "Perhaps we should leave a note. Send her our regards." Would Alistair admit to her that he was a part of this? Vaughn had no problem with it. After all, there was not much she could do about it, and she more than likely remembered who he was.
