Guinevère watched as the prince gave her a slight nod from across the room and then headed back out to the battle. She felt her heart sink and her worry rise, knowing that anything could happen out there to him. She turned to finish doctoring on the man before, trying to not to let to much emotion become displayed on her face. No one could know just how worried she truly was about this. Ever.
The king had been slipping the past few days and everyone had feared that he was going mad. Arthur had been forced to step up and take temporary control of the kingdom. Cenred, the harsh and greedy king and heard of Uther's madness and come running expecting Camelot would be easy to over take. But knew better. Arthur was thrice the man his father was, and was not about to let Cenred just walk in and take over.
Which was why they were now at war. Guinevère moved from knight to knight, trying to help each of them. Every one of them could be Arthur, in her mind. 'Gwen, we are running low on warm water.' Gaius said, and she offered to go to the kitchens and fetch some more warm water. The warm water would help clean the wounds and keep infection away.
She stayed to finish tieing off the bandage on the knight she was helping before she turned to hurry down into the kitchens. The first things she looked for--for the first someone she looked for was Alex. He'd become a good friend in the past year or so, and was hoping she'd find him safe. "I've come to get some more hot water for the hospital." She told him, pausing to lean on the wall bu the window, so she could catch her breath. As she did so, something caught her eye. Something horrid, and WALKING this way. Gwen stood there for a half second before letting out a scream and quickly backing away; closer to Alex as the skeleton caring the sword entered the kitchens.

Alex could feel the tension in the air of the kitchens. He was the only one there and the quiet put him on edge. Everyone else was running suplies elsewhere, or tending to the wounded. Alex had been left to make sure when people came to the kitchens they could find what they needed. In truth, Alex was unnerved by the emptyness of the room. It seemed unnatural for a place normally so busy. Alex himself did not like being alone. He currently was keeping an eye on the water left to boil over the fire. The water was important for the wounded and needed to be hot so it wouldn't give way to infection when used.
Even from a place so away from much of the fighting, the noises were still heard. Terrible sounds of fighting rang throughout the castle and Alex felt his hands tighten on the cloth he was tearing for bandages. With every crash from afar images of his friends went through his head. The terrible thoughts seeped into him like the rain would through his clothes. Alex's brow furrowed as the time went on and he sat so quietly that he seemed a statue, but for his limited hand movement. His mind worried at where his family was and whether they were safe or not.
Alex merely raised his gaze when Gwen entered and gave her a worried look. She looked just as terrified as he felt. She leant by the window and Alex placed the cloth down gently to attend to her request. He turned away to get water and was about to speak when he heard her scream. He jolted and spun to face where she was looking. If Alex was asked to describe what he saw he could only say it must have walked straight out of his little sister's nightmares into his reality. It moved toward them with it's skeletal body menacingly raising a sword. Alex wasted no time getting in front of Gwen. His hand grabbed the nearest weapon he could find and he held the carving knife in between him and the creature steadily.
"Just stay back Gwen." He said with a dark edge to his voice he rarely ever used. His face was deadly serious and his other hand that was empty reached for a large pot cover to use as a make shift sheild. There was absolutely no way this thing would be allowed to hurt his friend or destroy his kitchens. The irrational part of his mind lamented the fact that the dirt the creature trailed was going to ruin the floors he had cleaned not yesterday evening.

"Just stay back, Gwen!", And she moved back a few feet until she bumped into something, turning to look over she shoulder she found a table and a broom resting against it. She picked up the broom and held it up like a weapon before taking a step closer. "Alex!" She cried as the thing started it's attack! She stood where she was while building up the courage to step forward.
She took the broom and moved forward, trying to stay out of both Alex's and the thing's way. She did not want it to strike her and nor did she want to cause Alex to not be able to fight it. What were these horrid things? How had they'd come to life? Surely magic was the cause of this but how had they gotten past the knights outside?!
Gwen raised the broom high as they grew closer, and then brought it down while trying to strike the head. Wasn't that were it could do the most damage? How did you even fight something that was not human!

Alex watched the skeleton, but also noticed Gwen's movements behind him. He was glad she had decided to pick something up to defend herself with. He wasn't going to let that thing any closer, but have a weapon was practical. Alex watched carefully for any sign of movement from the creature and, as soon as it moved to swing it's sword, Alex hurridly pulled up the pot cover to block the swing. Alex felt that arm go slightly numb under the impact and stepped back to shake it off. This was as Gwen let the broom swing at its head. The skeleton seemed uninjured but distracted by the sudden attack, and Alex used the oppertunity to aim his own blow. He remembered one of the chefs had used the pommel of the carving knife to break open nuts. So instead of using the blade, which would do no harm against pure bone, Alex aimed the hard handle into the things skull.
Not being a highly trained warrior, Alex's aim was a bit off center. The first blow glanced off the skull harmlessly, and the second got a solid landing on the skeleton's collarbone. The crack was audible and Alex stepped away as the bone he had hit caved a bit. He felt a rush of accomplishment, but it was quickly drowned out. The thing merely tilted its head and raise its sword again. Alex grimaced. How was he supposed to fight something that seemed to be immortal? Somewhere in the back of his mind, Alex knew it was magic and knew that there must be a gap in the defenses if it got back here, but he could not find time to dwell on these facts. He was a bit preocupied by the living dead creature that was currently attempting to chop him into bits and pieces. It was not the best envirement for contemplating failings in Camelot's defense.
Alex stepped back quickly to avoid another swing at his head, and found himself stumbling slightly. His make shift shield would not last under the rain of hits from the skeleton. A pot cover was not meant to take on a sword that was created to kill. In fact after another hit Alex was forced to throw the shield. He opted to throw it at the skeleton for good measure. Not that it did much good. He hit again at the creature's head but got the arm as the knife was blocked. The arm cracked but did not break. As he stumbled to regain his footing, Alex was aware in the back of his mind that his left side stung a bit. He knew it meant he had recieved some type of wound, but ignored it in favor of the crazed un-dead foe he currently faced. He wouldn't need to worry about his injury if he stopped concentrating and the thing kiled him.

"Alex!" She screamed when the creature (because surely that THING was NOT human) seemingly landed a blow to his left side! Alex was with out a shield now and she knew that if she did not do something quickly then all would be lost. All being her friend's life, and quickly followed by her own.
Gwen waited a moment, as she saw the creature raise it's sword to strike again and she took the broom and aimed lower this time. At it's feet. She managed to hit it and knock one of them out from under it sending it falling to the ground. Not that it was not keen on getting right back up. She stood over it and brought the broom down on it's head. While it did nothing but seem to annoy the creature, she had been trying to give Alex the time he needed to get out of path of danger.
What was when she notice that the sword arm and let go of the sword. She moved to try to grab it but the creature grabbed her foot first. Gwen fell to the ground with a scream, but was luckily unhurt. she reached for the sword but only her finger tips could touch it.

Alexander could only watch in awe for a second as Gwen struck the creature with the broom. He saw it fall to the ground and shook himself from his stupor. He growled when the thing grabbed at Gwen who was trying to reach the sword. Alex felt his blood rush as his adreniline continued to give him more energy then he imagined he could hold. With a leap he grabbed the sword from the ground. Alex moved to the side of Gwen so that he would not hit her, and brought the sword down on the thing's arm. He did not spare a thought at the sickening crunch the arm made as it was cleaved in two.
Alex had doubted at first that he could swing the heavy sword, but found that with his boost in energy he was quite able. he also figured it had to do with all of the heavy items he carried around working in the kitchens. For once his laboring came in handy. Alex strained his arms and lifted the sword again, this time bringing it down onto the creatures skull. The skeleton was still for a moment as it's skull shattered. Alex almost breathed in relief until he saw it twitch and start to pick itself up using it's remaining arm. Alex used his right arm to hold the sword out, while he tried to drag Gwen away from the creature. It was slowly standing and started to move forward when it gave a shudder. Alex raised the sword, but soon stopped when the skeleton shook once more and collapsed.
Alex did not relax untill he was sure it would not get back up. Suddenly it was like the strength drained out of him and he dropped the sword to one side. Alex let himself fall back and lean against a counter. He sat on the floor and tilted his head backwards to draw in a few shakey breaths. The pain in his side persisted through the haze of exhaustion and he leaned to examine it. There was a tear in his shirt and he could make out a long cut. It wasn't very deep but it stung with every movement. Alex figured it wasn't deadly and turned his attention to Gwen.
"Are you alright?" He didn't use his normally flowery language and settled for just the basics. Alex didn't really feel up to his usual standards and didn't think he could even spare the energy to stand at the moment. He could see the discarded weapons from where he sat but made to get them. He figured if the skeleton rose again he wouldn't be able to fight it off anyway. Alex thanked the stars that it seemed to have died... again.

Gwen watched as Alex managed to get to the sword, and she was grateful that the creature let her go when he started his attack again. She turned over she was on her back and crawled backwards away from it, until her back was to the wall. She sat there and watched as Alex finally managed to kill the human like creature. Was it really someone comeback from the dead or was this some sort of trick of magic? Gwen was growing really frighten of magic, for every time something happened in Camelot it was from magic attacking.
Maybe magic was evil? She wasn't sure, and right not she did not have the clearest mind. Someone had attacked the city--again--with the aid of magic. This time it could have cost her a friend's life; or worse yet, Arthur was still out there. Was he safe? Was he un-harmed? Gwen shivered but it was not from the cold, before she forced her self to get up and hurry over to Alex.
Wrapping her arms around him, she just hugged him for a moment, very glad they were all alive. "Yes," She answered in a whisper. After a moment she pulled back, meaning to look up at him and ask him the same question. It was then she noticed the fresh blood on her dress shelve. He was hurt! She gave a soft gasp as he moved his shirt so she could better see. It was not bad, but if not cared for it would fester. "Alex, you're bleeding! Come sit down and let me mend this." She kept looking over at the pile of broken bones, afraid that while her back was turned it would spring forward and end them both. Once he was seated she bend to take a better look. The kitchens had rags to stop the bleeding but nothing clean and nothing to bind it with.
She'd have to go get them. "Don't move." She softly ordered him, and then grabbed town dish towels. Edging closer to the dead creature, she picked up it's two arms and then quickly tossed them into the fire that was heating the water. If it came back then it would have nothing in which to hurt him with. "I am going to go bed some biding for that, I will hurry." She promised before getting the water Gaius had wanted and hurrying out.
She spent longer then she wanted away from her injured friend yet not long enough. She wanted to hurry back to him for he was injured and she wanted to make sure it did not get infected; yet she longed for a sight of the prince. Even if it was from afar, she would at lest know he'd not fallen. Once she made it back to the kitchens, she sat down on the bench with Alex. "You will need to remove your shirt." She told him, before moving to help him in case the wound made it hard to--or hurt to do.
While she had been up there, she'd noticed everything seemed to be over. She'd heard Cenred was pulling out and that they were starting to bring in the wounded. She'd told Gaius what had happened in the kitchens; but he had no news for her of Arthur. "Thank you, Alex." She told him softly, with both gratefulness and still a hint of fear in her voice. "I think you saved my life."

Alex smiled as he felt Gwen hug him. A small wince was the only hint that the wound was paining him, but he ignored it in favor of simply being glad they were alive. He wasn't familiar with magic of any kind, but he did not believe it had made a good first impression. It seemed the same as any weapon to him. In the wrong hands it was dangerous. However, Alex had a hard time believing anything was strictly evil by nature. It was not magic's fault that it got used to evil ends. Although he was not against all magic, Alex knew better then to speak of it. He also knew that it did not mean he wanted to be around it. To be honest, it made him rather nervous.
Alex did not speak, but instead nodded along to Gwen. He heard her say she would go get something for his wounds and so he leaned his head all the way back so that his warm skin pressed against the cooler side of the counter. He could almost forget the pain if he let his mind drift enough. For some reason, Alex could not think of anything except for the idea that his mother would laugh that it took fighting an undead skeleton to get Alex to be quiet for an extended period of time. In fact, Alex was quite sure he had not been this quiet for a long time. He simply could not find the words for what he had just experienced. Alex took in the silence and started to breath slowly to relax. Little by little, he untensed his muscles and let the leftover shock run its course.
By the time Gwen returned, Alex was in more or less better shape. His side still ached, but he had enough energy to sit upright. Alex was careful to keep his arms from brushing the wound. His eyes raised to meet Gwen's as she entered and Alex gave her a smile closer to his usual grin. His good humor was slowly returning and he felt more like his old self already. "You just want an excuse to get my shirt off." He joked. However, Alex did as he was told and gingerly removed what was left of his shirt. With a hole in the side and covered in blood, Alex doubted he would ever wear the shirt again. He settled for tossing it to one side. Alex took the opportunity to stand and find a better perch on the counter. He figured it would be easier for Gwen to clean the wound that way.
Alex was a bit taken aback by her thanks. He wasn't normally in the position of being thanked so sincerely. In fact, it made him a bit bashful, and he ducked his head sheepishly. However, he shook it off and raised his gaze to her's again. He would repeat his actions a hundred times over if it would protect a friend of his. Gwen was one of the first people here he had really made a connection to. Alex would not lose that for anything. His reply was modest, as he did not want to dwell on how close a situation it had actually been. "Think nothing of it." He also noticed her worry. He was very good at reading people, and he liked to think he knew Gwen long enough to know something was off. She had the look of someone who hoped for good news but also feared that news of the opposite type would arrive any second. She had the look of many a soldiers wife. Ale was familiar with the expression, as he had been around to see it on other's faces. "Whoever he is, I'm sure he will be fine." Alex said softly. He tried to give her some sort of reassurance. He knew that waiting to see if someone you loved would come back was most likely the worst feeling one could have. He just wanted to offer her what comfort he could.

Absolute chaos had broken out in the kingdom. Not only had there been a big battle against Cenred, but randomly, out of absolutely no where, the dead decided to rise and skeletons were attacking the castle. But from where? Who had summoned them? It was all a bit much to understand, and Arthur had no time to sit and contemplate which sorcerer out of the hundreds that existed wanted to bring Camelot to its downfall. No. Instead, he did his duties as Prince and Knight and defended the castle, no matter what that entailed. Trying to kill something that was already dead though was rather difficult, and he had faced a situation like that in the past. And as before, the skeletons 'died' just as quickly as they had been raised; without a reasonable explanation for it. Well, one that remained undetermined for now.
Arthur had to make rounds throughout the the castle though, making sure that most everyone was safe, gather any bodies he saw, and ensure that there were no more enemies -- dead or living -- lurking around inside the walls. On top of everything else, Arthur was overwhelmingly concerned with his father's health; both mental and now physically as he had been wounded during battle. He was not sure what was going on with the king, but only hoped and prayed that it would soon heal itself since Gaius seemed at a loss of what to do to remedy his situation of seeing hallucinations and hearing voices.
But one thing at a time. And right now, Arthur had to focus on ensuring that the castle was safe again. He running through the hallways, keeping a keen eye on his surroundings, though apparently not keen enough for he had run past where Guinevère and Alexander had been. Gwen had certainly been on the Prince's mind since the battle first started, and making sure she was safe was on top of his list of priorities. Even if he could just catch one glimpse of her, to see she was alright. And that was when Arthur abruptly stopped, already having passed the kitchen. He could have sworn he faintly heard Guinevère's voice, and then the comment that he had heard loud and clear made him freeze.
"You just want an excuse to get my shirt off."
What was going on there?! Arthur's curiousity was at its peak and he turned, walking back to the kitchens . . . where he saw two people. One was Alex, sitting there with his shirt now off, and the other was a more appealing sight: Guinevère. She was here. She was safe. Arthur fought the urge to run up to her and just hold her in his arms . . . but he could not. Not with Alex in the room. He had personally met the servant before, when asking him to display some leadership skills when Camelot was cursed and short on food supply. But what was he doing here in the kitchen . . . with Guinevère . . . half naked . . . with -- what Arthur had just noticed -- a mess of things all over the place. He pulled his gaze away from Guinevère, as the reality -- or absurdity -- of the situation began to set in.
His expression went to relief to extreme curiosity. He slightly raised an eyebrow, allowing his gaze to linger around the room as if he was trying to determine a reasonable explanation of what could have caused such a mess, before just asking the question. "What happened here?" He tone was not overly demanding -- as he would not talk to Gwen in such a way -- and since his question had been one directed at either, or both of them, he would still speak to her in a respectful manner. Besides, he was more concerned than anything else . . . though seeing that she was alright, and did not seem too injured upon first glance, was a great comfort to the Prince.

"You just want an excuse to get my shirt off." Gwen gave him a soft laugh, when he managed to make a joke. She knew then that he would be alright. She still wanted to get this cleaned before it got infected. He propped up on the table and she stayed were she was sitting on the bench, allowing her to have better view of what she was doing. He brushed of her thanks in a modest way, and she did not wish to push it. She would find a way to thank him. Maybe she should mead his shirt? Or if the blood would not was out make him a new one. She liked making clothing and she wanted to do something nice for him. "It was not nothing to me."
His voice, broke thought her thoughts as she was starting to wash the blood away from the wound and she looked up. "Whoever he is, I'm sure he will be fine." Had she looked that worried? Gwen gave him an slightly shy and forced smile as if she was going to claim that she was only worried for Alex however in that moment, someone else entered. Arthur! He was safe!! Unharmed!! Guinevère's face changed then for she was relived to see him alive and well for he was walking on his own and nothing appeared damaged. She smiled naturally, rather then the one she placed on her face in order to down play her worry with Alex. While she trusted him, and loved him as a dear friend she could not tell anyone about her feelings. Merlin knew, but even they did not speak of it often.
It was to taboo, to forbidden. The king had once threatened to jail a noble woman whom Arthur claimed to love and wish to leave with. What would he do if a servant held his love? After being tossed at the king's feet once, and seeing his wrath she had no wish to ever cross paths with him again with that sort of notice on her. She was afraid; so very afraid of the king at times.
It was one of the few times she did not guard her expression while the prince was near. She did not even think about how well Alex had just read into her emotions and what this might tell him. Had she not been so worried a moment ago, and so relived in this moment she would have been able to guard her expression. "What happened here?" The look was there only a few short moments, before the guard was up and she did her best to just look respectful. If he was well enough to ask about the going-ons in the kitchens then Arthur truly was fine!! When he was in the room she held her self straighter, and even her movements were lighter.
She went back to cleaning up the wound on Alex's side as she spoke; "There was an attack on the kitchens, My lord, Alex managed to keep everyone safe." She had picked her words carefully. While she would never abuse the feelings she knew Arthur had for her, she wanted to make sure he knew that Alex was a hero. She looked up at Alex and gave him a grateful smile, the same one she'd given Merlin a million times.

Alex rested lightly with his arms propping him up. He examined Gwen from where he sat with a slightly curious glance. Alex didn't inquire further about the mystery man, but couldn't help but wonder. He shook off the nagging curiosity and instead settled on trying not to wince when his side stretched. He was not going to enjoy trying to find a decent way to sleep that night. However, he knew that once he lay down he would be out quickly. Right now he was wide awake, but he was pretty sure it was just left over adrenaline. Alex tilted his head and looked up at the ceiling while considering a response. He did not have time to actually give one before someone else entered the kitchens.
The very first thing that Alex noticed was that it was the Prince. Alex had only spoken to him once before, but there was not a soul in Camelot who could not pick out the Prince's face in an instant. When Alex had met him, it had been to suddenly find he was given a position of great responsibility during the famine. The way the Prince had spoke had left Alex with nothing but confidence in the young man. However, it was not the Prince who kept Alex's attention. His gaze was instead drawn to Gwen's expression. He wrinkled his brow as he tried to place it, and then when he finally thought it through he settled for a slight reddish hint on his face. Oh...
Alex quickly took in the sight of the room and himself and turned his face to the Prince. If Alex was ever flustered it was now. He watched as the Prince took in everything and when he spoke Alex almost sighed in relief. Apparently no harm was done. Alex found himself considering carefully before he replied. He certainly found that he had the restraint not to blabber given the situation. Although, it could have been he was still sluggish from the altercation with the skeleton-thing. Gwen answered the question before Alex could string sentences together. Alex again felt a bit of embarrassment at her mentioning him protecting everything. He doubted anyone else wouldn't have done the same. He found himself unused to getting praise. Usually he was out of sight. However, given his usual confidence, it was not long before he recovered his voice.
"It was nothing, Sire. Just a... well it was a... some kind of skeleton-warrior-undead-thing." He said as he tried to find the right words to describe what they had been up against. He gestured toward the heap of bones that lay next to the discarded makeshift weaponry. He felt Gwen touch his injury again and let his mouth twitch slightly at the uncomfortable feeling. Alex forced the grimace back into a smile to let Gwen know he was thankful for her helping him.

When Guinevère spoke about how there was an attack, Arthur knew she could have only meant that it was one of the skeletons. Cenred's men had not breached the wall to be able to get through the castle. Besides, there was no body or no one having hobbled out from this area. Instead -- as Arthur now noticed -- there was a pile of bones. Alexander had done this? Arthur had not known he had the skill to fight off the un-dead creatures. It was surprising, though Arthur showed no shock at this fact. He had saved the woman he loved, and for that reason, Arthur would forever feel indebted to him even if he could not express how much, or explain why.
Arthur had to be careful as how to express his words of gratitude to the kitchen servant. "You don't have to be so modest," he commented politely, not sounding rude in the way he said it as he felt the man should give himself a bit more credit. His tone became a bit less formal, and slightly more relaxed. "These skeletons were not easy to fight off." As Arthur knew from personal experience. Alex had saved Guinevère and the Prince knew this could not have been easy to do. It was then that his gaze fell onto Alexander's wound. Arthur took a few more steps towards them, glancing at the injury to try and determine how severe it was. "Perhaps we should have Gaius take a look at that as well."
He knew Guinevère would do what she could, but he felt an obligation now to ensure Alex was not harmed too seriously. Gaius may be busy, yes, but Arthur would make sure he got the proper treatment. Arthur looked at Gwen for a moment, trying to remain casual but at the same time, it was difficult to control expressing the full extent of his relief right now. "Is it very serious?" He asked her, as she was the one tending to it right now and had experience in treating wounds, though not as extensively as Gaius obviously. Who knew what the tips of the swords that the skeletons carried had on it. Some sort of spell to make its strike more deadly maybe? Even though he seemed alright now, one could never be too careful.

Gwen saw Alex's face turn slightly red in a way that was almost unnoticeable in the kitchen light. She wondered why he'd turned red and looked down to make sure she was not overly hurting him. As she had not praised his yet, he could not have been blushing. She watched him for a moment with a worried expression while Arthur spoke to him. When she heard Arthur speak to her she looked up at him and spoke in a soft tone, "He'll live. We were lucky."
After a short silence, she added on a "Sire." To persevere protocol and try to make sure they were not obvious. She did not want them caught, for that could lead to all sorts of trouble that neither of them wanted. While she trusted Alex with her life, she could not tell anyone about her feelings for the prince. Nothing could ever happen between them so in some way, there was nothing to tel. Yet there was everything to tell, for she lived each day for the sight of him, and for the sound of his voice. "Alex was just making jokes, my lord, If he can tease me then he will be fine. I would feel much better if Gaius would check behind me however."
She watched Arthur for a moment longer before forcing her eyes down, "How is your own injury? I should rebandaged it for you it will not worsen." She finished cleaning Alex's side before picking up the wraps so she could wrap the wound so it would not re-open.

Alex took the Prince's words with a nod. Indeed fighting off the skeleton was not an expierience he ever wanted to repeat. Listening to the Prince's careful words, Alex almost doubted the conclusions he had made a few minutes prior. If not for the way they looked at each other it was near impossible to see anything out of the ordinary. Even the glances were not overtly unsubtle. In fact, in another situation they probably would not have been noticable at all. Alex knew it was not something to be spoken of and put the thoughts away for the time being.
"I'm sure it is nothing more then a small scratch. After it's wrapped I should be fine." Alex said quickly. He was not a fan of doctors in general. It was a small quirk of his. They made him a bit uneasy. A silly thing to be uncomfortable with, but given his wound was not very serious he didn't feel it was a necessary precaution. Then again, Alex was by no means an expert in medecine. If given a chance, Alex could end up the first death by papercut victime due to his stubborness and absurd unwillingness to do anything about it. Alex chuckled a bit in a slightly nervous manner and lept at Gwen's change of subject.
"You should let Gwen rewrap that. Can't have our prince catching an infection." Alex said with a small smile. He was glad that the attention would no longer be on him. Scrutiny made him nervous. Not to mantion he felt odd now knowing the nature of Gwen's reguard for the prince. He by no means wanted to be in the way. It was very much awkward for Alex, while the other two might not even realize he was finding out about the whole thing. It was, however, quite romantic. Their whole forbidden romance thing. Alex couldn't help but find it a bit amusing.

Arthur internally cringed when she called him Sire. After their previous -- very short -- conversation about how that was unnecessary, it would always be a painful reminder of why they could never be. Still. He did not react to it. He had to act more casual and yet formal at the same time. He did not want rumors to start spreading among the servant folk. Little did he know how obvious he was being, as in his mind, the fact that he hadn't run up to Guinevère and pull her into his arms, was subtle enough for no one to pick up on their relationship. He did not consider the extended glances he gave her, or the longing looks.
Arthur looked back and forth between them for a moment. Both of them seemed to be in such good spirits. Smiling. Making jokes. And here Arthur was, being all dramatic and trying to allow the fact that no one was harmed fully sink in, and the fact that a servant had fought off one of the skeletons. It was a pleasant surprise, but it had still caught the Prince off guard. This could also be the first time he had actually stopped to take a breath, ever since his father's condition. "Its fine Guinevère," he said, dismissive about his wound, not really caring about it though the sudden reminder sent a wave of pain through his hand, but it was not intolerable. He had suffered far worse than a minor sprain. It had not even been enough to completely hinder his combat abilities.
Arthur put his sword back into its sheath, convinced that there was no further threats in this room. "Did something happen which killed the creature?" The already dead creature. He was mainly asking Alexander, as he was the one fighting it. Arthur wondered if either of them perhaps noticed something that happened right before the skeleton collapsed into a pile of bones. Had this one been defeated in a different way than the rest? Though Arthur had a feeling it had not, he still had to ask . . . just in case. For they still had not yet determined what had stopped the attack of the dead, so just on the off chance that this would ever happen again, it was better to be prepared in case.

Gwen used the wraps to bind Alex's mid section tightly, but not so tight that it would hurt. It was always tricky to the find that middle ground but Gwen was getting better and better at with thanks to all the practice she was getting. She was able to big the wound tight enough so it did not move around but not so tight that it hurt.
She smiled to her self, as Alex tried to change the subject from him self to Arthur when it came to doctoring. She had not known that he was a bit shy around doctors though no one truly liked them, when they were the one in need of one. Still she would use it to make sure she could check on Arthur's hand.
Any excuse to touch him really, for she had been so worried about him. "He is right, I should check your wrist so that it will heal faster." She tucked in Alex's wrap, and then turned to look at Arthur. "I will be quick, and it will save Gaius from having to chase you down to do it him self."

Alex found himself pleasently surprised when Gwen finished wrapping his wound. It did not hurt as he had thought it would. He let himself smile gratefully at Gwen before picking up his shirt. Alex fingered the rip down the side and merely folded the shirt and set it on his lap. It was a bit to damaged to wear, and had a bit of blood on it. Alex could only imagine walking home to his family wearing it. His mother would either fret at him or attempt to kill him for ruining the shirt. In honesty Alex was not sure which reaction would make him more uncomfortable.
"I knocked it over, but it had started to get up. Thought we were pretty doomed untill it just collapsed back in on itself. Like a puppet whose strings were cut." Alex said to the Prince. He gave a small chuckle and subconciously realised he was most likely still in slight shock from the events. He also realised that he had forgotten to add Sire to his sentence, but was to tired to correct his mistake. He figured it might not be so noticable when Gwen was currently about to wrap Arthur's hand. He doubted any small misstep he made would register with the Prince at the moment.
Stretching slightly, he found the bandage firmly in place and not as restrictive as he assumed it would be. He could not raise the arm on his injured side all the way up due to the wrapping, but it wouldn't hinder him in most things. Alex figured it was a small price to pay for fighting the seemingly living dead. In fact, he was still surprised he still had all his extremities. Just another thing to be thankful for, he guessed.

Arthur did not want to argue . . . after all, it did make sense. May as well get it checked now so that it would save time later for there was going to be a lot of work that needed to be done, and a lot of damage that needed to be repaired in the castle. Plus, Gaius would be busy with those who had more serious injuries than himself. He just gave a short nod, standing there and trying not to stare intently at Gwen as she would move closer to tend to check his hand. Arthur looked at Alex as he began to answer his question, adding in a bit of laughter . . . curious. Perhaps something amused him; something that Arthur was completely missing.
"Strange," he said thinking out loud. "We have not yet been able to determine how the skeletons suddenly collapsed." He had no complaints that they did, but it was just strange how they had come alive and then were once again . . . dead. Or, more dead than they already were. He turned to look back at Gwen for a moment. "I'm glad you're alright," he said in a low voice, looking at Gwen, as the relief that she was alright began to come out. Of course, he was relieved for Alex's sake too . . . but Guinevère was far closer to his heart. "Both of you," he added, looking at Alex, so that his shifted glance would not put too much attention on Guinevère, thus revealing his feelings for her. His words were not a lie. He had saved Guinevère's life . . . and Arthur would never forget this noble deed.
