Uther had expected that Sasha would join him for dinner. It was only proper given her status that she would eat from his table. Also as was normal, Arthur and Morgana were there, although Uther secretly hoped thy would retire before long and allow him some privacy. It was difficult to ask questions and try to discern the information he was looking for when he was being watched constantly. Thankfully, they did both leave for other things, leaving only Uther and Sasha at the table.
The king had been unable to escape the nervousness Sasha had expressed earlier, as he had carried out the ceremony for her mother. It had made him curious, and he wanted to know more. He did not care to get involved in family squabbles, but if she was nervous about something her mother might try in a sense of trying to harm him or anyone else in the castle, he would need to know of it.
"Are you all right, my lady? You seemed nervous during the ceremony earlier."he asked.

Sasha had been honoured, as always, to join the King for dinner. It was something she valued, even if it was as mere as dinner. It may sound corny or overly dramatic, but it made her feel like she was trusted.Only Sasha and a few other living souls knew what she had done, and it was truly unforgivable. But at least she knew that she'd never do anything of a sort again. . . and that the person she had entrusted her secret to would never tell. Ugh. . . she really needed to stop thinking about it. It was beginning to drive her insane.
Arthur and Morgana were there, as usual. For personal matters she found it difficult to actually make eye contact with the Prince. Of course, they were still good friends. . . and good friends they always would be. Arthur had quite a long time ago told her that he loved another. . . that he had walked out on his own wedding for not her, but another woman. And this had hurt. . . and it continued to hurt to this day. Many would say otherwise, but she knew for a fact she'd never love another as deeply as she loved Prince Arthur. Eventually the Prince and the Lady Morgana left for other things, which left only the King and herself.
She was slightly startled by the King's question, but did not show it even at the least. "I am fine, thank you, Sire," she responded quietly, giving him a polite smile. And speaking of the ceremony earlier that day. . . you might say that it added to her problems. She was a murderer, heartbroken, and now her mother was here to possibly make it all worse. However, things may be different while in Camelot. Her mother may not openly perform her old trickery here. Trickery, not only with her magic. Arthur and Sasha knew of this, but Uther had never known of it. As many thoughts rushed through her mind, no more than a few seconds could have passed. She looked intently at the King, hoping that she would look convincing enough so that he'd take her word as truth. "I. . . just haven't seen my mother in a long while. It's nothing serious."
[ Do think the knowledge of Delilah being cold and unfeeling would make him suspicious of Sasha's words? ]

Uther returned her gaze, his own senses still studying her. He was intent, but he hoped not so intent that he made her uneasy or came accross as rude. He would stop at nothing if he knew he was in danger, but without any sure sign of a threat, he needed balance as it were. To discern if he were at risk while at the same time, not offending her unncessarily and staining his reputation.
He was, to be truthful, most suspicious of her mother, but he knew that there could be many things going on here. She could have knowledge of a plot, or be working with her mother, or be planning something herself. Or, it could be just as she said, although he had his doubts. Her mother had seemed cold earlier, not happy at all, and that kept him suspicious.
"I see. She seemed a bit...distant...earlier. As though she were bothered by something. I hope she does not remain so. I always hate to see our guests not enjoying themselves. I simply hope it is not a sign of trouble to come."
That was the king's way of saying he hoped she wasn't intending to try and harm him. There was no way to know if Sasha knew anything, but he had to see.
(yeah it does)

Hearing his next comments did not surprise her. Sasha didn't blame him for bringing up her mother's earlier distance. If the King knew the true depth of what her mother had done in the past then that would be a soft way of putting it. But those days were over. . . were they not?
"I talked with her earlier, and she said that she's just missing my father," she responded to the King's comment. And that was fact, they had talked and Delilah had said just that. And who knew? It might just be the truth. "After all, this is where my parents shared many memories. I personally think she's just glad to be back in Camelot."
Sasha took a bite of what was left on her dinner plate, swallowed quickly, and looked back at the King so she wouldn't miss what he said next.

Uther listened, his instincts still alert, but still remaining calm at the same time. Keeping a clear head wasn't always what he was best at, but he knew he had to try not to let his temper flare until he was sure something was wrong. It was obvious he was uneasy, but at least he wasn't yelling at anyone yet. For now, he tried to discern how he could find out more.
"I can understand how that could happen. The pain does not go away easily in my experience. Moving on can be very difficult."he said."I hope she is doing all right, despite her ordeal."
Sasha spoke of her mother being glad to be back in Camelot. He nodded, able to understand that as well."Yes, it is always nice to return home after a long absence. I hope that she will be able to enjoy her stay, to find a bit of happiness despite her despair."
