He couldn’t understand how she’d managed to have that kind of hold over him. It appeared that everyone was surprised by his actions tonight – Yvain the most as he couldn’t stop gawping, then again – neither could anyone else. Did Camila ever dance with any other man that had been before him? He was sure he wasn’t the first.
She looked down at the floor as he pushed the strand of hair back gently – her cheeks reddening a little. Great, he’d embarrassed her. That was the last thing he wanted to do. He wanted so much just to push her chin up with his finger so she was looking at him again – no, he couldn’t do that. Once again he’d have to fight another urge and he was sure that Camila wouldn’t appreciate his actions.
He just couldn’t take his eyes from her – not for one moment, as though in a split second she may just fade away in his arms. He continued to keep his eyes on her until she looked back up at him, her own eyes making his heart thump rather loudly. He looked at her lips, imaging what it would be like to just place a small kiss on them. No. He was a Knight of Camelot and had to mentally shake that image from his mind, it wasn’t chivalrous of him at all. Instead he caressed her cheek slightly with his thumb. He knew he shouldn’t, but he couldn’t help it. “Camila I…” he started but the clapping from the on lookers then interrupted them. Luc then realised that the dance had actually come to an end! He didn’t move away from her for a while, choosing to just keep close to her and to look at her instead, it was hard not to. In the end he decided that it would appear too freaky if he carried on and instead let go of her.
With that he bowed, “Camila” he began again but then paused, unsure as to what he could say or do within a situation such as this. He was falling for her, even he knew that much – his head and heart told him the same, to let her in. In the end scratched the back of his neck and looked to her again, “Walk with me?” he asked.

Even a woman of Camila's personality dreamed, deep down, about one day meeting a knight that would sweep her off her feet but even they wanted to be courted as an proper lady before. Yes, courting was a long sort of 'process' that postponed the inevitable. However it was the idea and very nature of a courtship that made any lady swoon. By now, if one would consider the time Camila and Lucan had spent together the start of their courtship, things would be moving at quite an alarming speed. Yet Camila had done nothing to stop it.
Her eyes looked up at him again, at which point Lucan stroke her cheek delicately with his thumb, sending her heart back into a race and her cheek into a vivid flush. It was uncommon for men to do so in public, even less so early in a relationship with a woman. But Lucan was very different than most men, that much was quite clear. He had taken a hold on Camila's heart and was not going to let go anytime soon for sure.
Cam didn't even hear Lucan when he had started to speak before the crowd started to applaud the players. She just started to come back to reality with a shock at which point Lucan released his hold on her. Camila held her hands together almost nervously as there was a pause and Lucan bowed. She supposed she should curtsy in response.
"Walk with me?" He asked her to which she could only nod. Where he wanted to walk with her she hadn't the slightest idea but Camila had full faith and total trust in him.

On seeing Camila nod, Lucan took her hand and led her through the groups of conversing nobles – out of the hall. At least the walk would give him a chance to apologise for such rash and unacceptable actions in the hall. For goodness sake! What was wrong with him? He shouldn’t be acting in such a manner – he was Lucan Aubert! The shy knight who could go up against a beast but not a woman, and yet here he was doing things such as stroking her cheeks and wanting to kiss her! He started to wonder whether Camila had cured him of his past failures when it came to women. He felt fine, not wanting to pass out at any given opportunity or run away from her screaming. All Lucan wanted to do was just sit and stare at Camila all evening.
He decided that he would take her for a walk in the gardens, at least then they’d have some sort of privacy where he could explain himself. The evening was quite nice and the only light seemed to be from the moon - a gentle breeze sweeping across Camelot. Lucan liked the peace. At least she’d agreed to go with him – he wasn’t expecting her to but even he was surprising himself this evening. Leading her down the steps and through into the gardens, Lucan offered her his arm. “My lady” he smiled, feeling his shyness now creeping back up on him.
After a while he finally spoke, “Im sorry about my actions in the hall” he began, “it was out of character for me and certainly isn’t chivalrous of me at all”. He’d chosen to not look at her whilst doing so – it would only encourage him to want to be closer to her again. He had to play it in the way that everyone expected men to behave upon first meeting a woman. “But also…I wanted to get you alone for a while, to get to know you without having to pass out or be saved by Yvain” he chuckled slightly – Yvain had saved him from so many situations over the past few years that Lucan owed him.
“It’s your choice – You can either return to the hall as though nothing happened and would never have to see me again, i promise you that, or…” he paused, “you could walk with me, talk with me – and perhaps even beat me down should I even think about touching your cheek again”. A small smirk formed on his lips. Camila seemed the type to beat a man down should he step out of line.

Lucan had started off as shy guy Camila thought she could have a little fun toying with and then she found out that she liked that. Now Lucan was acting outrageously and Camila wasn't in any right mind to give any thought as to whether or not she liked it. She was certainly speechless. And her blood was hot in a hysteric wave if desire and shock. Perhaps she did like it? But Cam was usually the girl who would take charge, was dominant, who would have a man at her mercy, starved for her empty teasing. She was not used to this.
Lucan offered her his arm to take, as a knight would do usually. Seeing nothing wrong with this, Camila carefully looped her arm through his, trying to be as stereotypically lady-like as possible yet without bursting into a fit of laugher at how had she had just tried. She was trying to look normal, to act normal. As if nothing had set her off, nothing had caught her off guard or even shocked her. No, there was no need for her to show that. Luc went on apologizing about his out of character behavior before. He didn't need to apologize, Camila was almost even more interested in him now that he had "broken the rules" of knight chivalry. It made him seem a little more dangerous, if you will.
"I don't intend on leaving so soon, but for me to stay you must swear to me this," she went off in a sort of riddle and looked up at him with a slight smirk. "You must court me before you ever lay a hand upon my cheek again." This was more like her, it was a little bit if a tease, the way she said it. "What say you to those terms? Agree and I will stay." Camila wanted nothing more than for him to agree. She wanted to be courted by him. Sure it was a little unusual for a lady to insist on such a thing but it wasn't unheard of.

Lucan was silent for a while, as was Camila – who appeared to be contemplating on what he’d said. All he wanted was to get to know her – ok maybe that was a life sentence in itself and he’d given her an ultimatum. He found themselves a bench and sat down, watching the floor as Camila was still in her train of thought. There was nothing more that Lucan could actually say that would make anything less awkward than it was now.
He was now finding that his heart seemed to be banging away in his chest – as though some physical blow had left its mark. Although it wasn’t a blow at all – it was the terms and conditions of Lady Camila that were now making him appear to have some kind of nervous breakdown in his mind. WOAH! Him? Court her? Where the hell had that come from?! Yvain’s earlier words were now ringing fresh in his mind about her wanting victims. She wasn’t like that though. The Camila he’d seen tonight was no man-eater – nor did she toy with men like a cat with a mouse. Her words just then had sounded very teasing indeed and Lucan wondered whether now she was starting to show her true colours.
His eyes found hers and rested there for a few moments. Could he possibly even consider courting Lady Camila? He hadn’t meant to be too out of character to her and yet here she was giving him the ultimatum now. Lucan didn’t know what to do. He was shy – he would faint or just leave whenever a woman approached. Camila was extraordinary and he really did not know why or what it was that was making him this way. If he was ever going to break the mould with women then perhaps this was the time to do so. After all if he were to let everything slip through his fingers then he’d go back to being the shy knight who would sit and watch from the sidelines, whilst his friends had it easy. With that he stood up, not taking his eyes from her for a second.
“Well…” he raised his brows, “those are quite some terms, my lady”.
Two could play at this game. He gave her an inquisitive look, “If I court you then I have a few terms of my own…” he started, leaving it for a few moments as to whether she would question that, before finally smiling to himself and looking back at her with the first term of his own.
“May I touch your cheek now?”

Camila's heart raced as Lucan stood up from the bench. Maybe asking, or almost demanding, that he court her was too sudden. Maybe she had crossed a line. She feared that he would come to disappoint her, that he would say no. Cam felt relief wash over her as he started to speak. He wasn't telling her no. But he wasn't quite telling her yes.
He wanted to touch her cheek again. It was like asking if he could enter a forbidden room for a second time. Camila looked up at him. His touch was quite exciting... But then again, a man courting a woman would usually wait before touching anything more that her arm and hand.
"That isn't a term, kind Sir, but a wish. Or a demand. But whether or not you shall be granted permission to stroke my cheek once more, you will need to agree to my terms before your request is put into consideration." She corrected.
Cam took hold of his hand, never braking the gaze they held in eachother's eyes, and delicately cupped her hands around it. She brought his covered hand to her face, resting the back if her hand against her cheek, it being the only obstacle between his hand and what he sincerely wished for. She wanted it too, now that she the burning and hot, sweet desire that came with a stroke of his hand to her cheek. Yet Camila wasn't going to let him takeher to his advantage. He would wait for it. Lucan would have to wait her out.

If his father could have seen him now, he would’ve not only applauded him for finding a woman but would have arranged the whole marriage etc. it made Lucan shudder in his mind just thinking about it. His father said that the younger and prettier they were, then the more likely it would be to have as many heirs as he liked; and Corneous Aubert was all for heirs. Lucan had no idea how old Camila was – for all he knew she could be just sixteen, but he suspected she was older than that. His father would’ve said that at his age (which really wasn’t that old – well 27 could hardly be classed as that in Lucan’s mind, whereas Corneous thought differently when it came to finding a wife) he should be married with at least three children by now. To Lucan, that didn’t exactly matter, as his duty had been his companion since he was younger. All that mattered to him was that eventually he’d find someone who’d like him for all the right reasons.
Camila was toying with him even more, trying to see how far she could get before he cracked. Lucan liked her ways and she certainly knew how to use them to her advantage. He laughed at his request being denied – Lady Camila knew exactly what she wanted by the sound of it. Her hand was cupped around his and prevented the touch of her cheek, yet Lucan could still feel her even through flesh and bone. It was like she was somehow a part of him.
“Well then…” he smiled and gently freed his hand from her grasp, instead bringing a kiss to the back of her own, “I think you know the answer my lady” his eyes flickered up to her.
Lucan finally released her hand and smiled to himself, “I should warn you though, I come with baggage” – his grin broadened slightly. Courting a Knight might have sounded appealing to a woman, but there were times when things could hit rock bottom. Lucan didn’t want that to happen – and he was prepared to play by the book and do everything right to make it work. “Are you sure im not too ‘over the hill’ for you?” he asked, the grin still there.

Camila was not going to leave without an answer from him. Without a commitment. She was now 19 and her youthfulness was quickly reaching its peak. Usually by now, she should have been courted and engaged to be wed, or even be wed. But the men of Faintree did not interest Camila, nor did they ever dare to ask her if they could court her because her father would make quick work of them; they wouldn't be staying in Faintree very much longer, her father having driven them out. He wanted better for her and a knight would most certainly make her father's cut. But what was important to her was love. She never truly ever felt what it was like and she Hermes to know how amazing it would be to be in love, to fall in love, to be loved in a romantic sense and to make it. Love. It was not an appropriate thought for a girl to have but it was sitting in the back of her mind. All girls wondered. There was no denying that, but it wasn't a big priority. Although, chidren where.
Children was one of a woman's main uses. They carried them, gave birth to them, raised them, fed them, took care of them, clothed them, bathed them and educated them while the man would work. Cam didn't seem like the type but she did was children eventually. She wouldn't be able to bare many if she kept waiting.
Camila smirked at Lucan while deep down she wanted to jump with joy. He would court her! He would court her! She felt amazing. "Good." Was all she could say without getting all giddy. Her cheeks flushed pink when he kissed her hand. Camila had been kissed on the hand more times than she could count but something about it being Lucan made her blush. Perhaps it was because he was now courting her...
"Baggage?" Cam smirked a little. "I am pretty sure that I can handle it." She didn't really care at this point, she was being courted!
"Too 'Over the Hill'? Lucan, I think I'm in no place to judge. Most women my age would be engaged to be wed by now." Well, maybe. But girls were married off as early as they could be to carry as many children as possible and to take care of an eventually more aging husband. Younger was better wife material. But 19 was losing its touch.
Blah!

It looked as though Cam was trying to hold some kind of excitement in her. Lucan could tell as in all honesty, she looked like she was about to burst or at least scream at him. He gave a small chuckle when all she could say was ‘good’. Such a reaction meant she was most likely screaming ‘yes!’ in her mind, but Lucan wasn’t one to judge, but it was what he observed. He saw her blush again, at least he was having some effect over her – if he wasn’t allowed to touch her cheek, then he’d find other ways of winning her over (even if he technically had already – this woman was the one who suggested courting in the first place). Lucan at the moment had no idea how he felt about all of this. He was a mixture of emotion. Some of doubt (whether Cam would be prepared to actually court a knight) and some of relief (that was the fact that she actually liked him and was the first woman who seemed to have some kind of hold on him – a good kind).
“Yes…” he replied, “Very good indeed”.
Camila seemed to not be bothered about the fact that he came with ‘baggage’. She honestly had no idea just what ‘baggage’ Luc had in mind. Not only would she be courting a knight, but a future Duke, and that itself caused problems – as the life that came with the title wasn’t always fun and games. His father had drummed that into him from a young age. Now he was thinking too far ahead of himself. For all he knew this could all go pear shaped and Camila wouldn’t want to consider him as a suitor – even if she was considering him now. “Could you really?” he smirked at her when she said that she could handle it, “I can just about handle it myself”. The whole thing about one day being referred to as ‘Duke Lucan’ really hadn’t sunk in over the years. ‘Duchess Camila’ however? No. He had to stop thinking about all that now, for the sake of his sanity.
Lucan could only agree with her statement about women her age. Had he been back in Glouchedon he’d most likely have been married to Maria Howard by now. What a lucky escape that was!
“To be honest my lady, im still a little surprised to find you unattached at all”. How did she not have a husband or a man to court already? It was ridiculous! “When I first saw you this evening I was sure that someone as beautiful as you are, would be married to some snooty, yet very lucky, nobleman”

"Could you really? I can just about handle it myself."
Camila was tough, she was sure she could take on any kind of 'baggage' he supposedly had. "I'm positive that I could. Perhaps if you told me?" Maybe it was a little early to want to help with take on his problems in life, they having only just started to court, but she was also very curious. She searched his eyes momentarily, she wondered what could be so big of a burden that he didn't believe she could handle.
"To be honest my lady, im still a little surprised to find you unattached at all" Camila smiled up at him, flattered in a way. "When I first saw you this evening I was sure that someone as beautiful as you are, would be married to some snooty, yet very lucky, nobleman." This made her giggle lightly and then grin. "Snooty? It's hardly my style! As I said earlier, I don't much care for idiots or now, snooty noblemen..." Just fools. She left that out for him to remember.
Cam gave a sigh. "But if you must know, it's because of my father. None of the noblemen of Faintree meet his... likings, if you will." She shrugged. "He wants the best for me. And noblemen never seem to make my father happy." Cam truly hoped that a knight would make her father happy, not that she cared now. She wanted Lucan to be her suitor and her father wasnt going to stop her this time. Or at least she liked to think so.

Lucan grinned when Cam stated that she didn’t do ‘snooty’. He was rather glad of it. “Just a fool that drags you out into the garden during the early hours of the evening” he chuckled. Camila liked to toy with men so it seemed, but he wouldn’t get away with it for long if Lucan had anything to do with it. Mutual rules were needed to be made so it seemed.
She mentioned her father – Lucan was sure that he knew of him, Sir Aaron was it? By the description that Camila was giving him, it didn’t look promising – then again fathers always wanted the best for their children – the main priority being an advantageous marriage. It was no wonder that Camila’s father had sent all potential suitors away. “It’s understandable,” he told her, “I’m sure that ive heard of your father, and most likely have seen him at court on some occasions. I know that Yvain has defiantly been acquainted with him.”
Lucan smiled at her knowingly, “well…if nobleman do not seem to suit his tastes – would a Duke?” She’d wanted him to tell her about the baggage that he carried earlier so now would most likely be a good time to. “That’s my baggage” he admitted, “Im not only a Knight, but also the future Duke of Glouchedon”. He wondered how she would react to that. “It might not seem like ‘baggage’ to you, but for me it’s pretty much a big deal” he chuckled, “my father brought me up to be this chivalrous Knight and from a young age I was involved in a lot of the things that I’ve been trained up to manage when I inherit the estate. One of them being managing the welfare of my brother and stepmother.” Not that Elaine would want to be ‘managed’. Lucan could send her away for all he liked, but had promised his father when he was younger that he would look after both Griff and Elaine, should anything happen to Corneous suddenly. “Another problem that comes with this whole thing is having to give up my position here in Camelot.” He didn’t like the idea of having to give up the job that he’d worked hard for since he was younger. Being a Knight was his life, but eventually it would have to be traded for a new one.
“So…” he began, “Think you can still handle me Camila Faintree?”

"Just a fool that drags you out into the garden during the early hours of the evening." Camila smirked. It was true. She did like fools, it seemed. And now, she figured she could accurately think, she had her own fool. "The very same."
Sir Aaron of Faintree was a well known nobleman around Camelot. He attended all of the social parties and special events - like tonight - with his lovely wife, Lady Eloise. The pair never missed the opportunity to mingle with other nobles, knights and royals; they had to be in the know of everything. Camila was getting into this habit on her own. Her parents used to drag her to every event possible when she was younger partly to show her off to others, but they no longer had to drag her out to make her want to go. Camila often went to events without her parents mainly because she would jump at any opportunity to get out of Faintree for a while. Faintree was dull to her, there was nothing that excited her there. She often wished she could live in Camelot, it was much more interesting. And although she was sure that if she asked Arthur or Uther if she could reside there they would graciously offer her living she didn't. why she didn't, she wasn't sure.
“well…if nobleman do not seem to suit his tastes – would a Duke?” A DUKE? Camila looked at Lucan, her expression blank with the shock. She had no idea how to react to this news. Having strung herself into being courted by a handsome knight was one thing but a knight-to-be-DUKE? She was a little impressed with herself, her father would indeed be very pleased, but how could she respond to Lucan? She was sure anything would be better than how she was doing so now, standing in front of him blankly... Lord, he must have thought she looked ridiculous! "I-I'm... sure he will be far more than please." Cam managed to speak through the numbness of her shock.
Lucan went on to explain how he had been brought up to be a knight and future duke. What he was expected to do and at what cost to him this meant. Camila was very aware that the process of becoming a knight was far from an easy one. It took ages to accomplish but with a worthy outcome. To Lucan, having to give up his knighthood must have meant giving half his life away. Camila felt sorry for this.
Lady Camila of Faintree was not the same woman in this moment. She was still in aw and shock. Her thick mask of a mysterious temptress had been broken down, leaving her vulnerable. She felt that she might faint! But summing up what little dignity she had at the moment, she formed a feeble smirk. "I'm sure I can."

Camila was in shock, which much was clear to Luc. She clearly hadn’t been expecting him to come out with that. He grinned at her, as if it wasn’t awkward enough for him at this moment. “Told you that was baggage”. Lucan quickly decided to guide her and sit her down on the little stone seat that he’d sat on moments before. He was sure that her father would know already about his circumstances. He was sure that he’d briefly met Sir Aaron before, but it was only an exchange of hello’s before Yvain had dragged him off to the nearest tray of wine to get incredibly drunk.
“Cam…I don’t mind if this changes your opinion of me for the worse” he began, “it’s not something I usually tell people about when I first meet them” she should feel privileged that he’d plucked up the courage to tell her. She looked pale now. Lucan was worried – if she fainted then that would be the end of the courtship that never began. Sir Aaron would kill him if he were to discover Lucan trying to fan his unconscious daughter in the gardens. And alone. “Are you sure that you’re feeling alright?” he asked and crouched down in front of her. If she did faint, then he’d at least be able to catch her!
"I'm sure I can." Camila was replying to his earlier question. Should he ever marry Camila (which at the moment seemed out of the question) she would defiantly have a culture shock at the life she would be leading. Elaine had taken her role in her stride, but only because she’d wanted it. Luc had no idea if Camila even wanted this potential life.
He took her hand, stroking the top of it. “Would you like me to return you to your parents?” he asked, “I wouldn’t want them worrying about you.”

Lucan walked a poor, shocked Camila over to the bench. “Would you like me to return you to your parents? I wouldn’t want them worrying about you.”
What? Return her to her family? No! Why would he think she would want that? Camila shook her head, slowly at first but it got a little fast after a moment. "No. No! No, I don't want... They're probably already gone." They wouldn't be too far, though. They were staying in the guest chambers of the castle, like they always did when they came to Camelot. Uther was always so courteous and welcoming to the Faintrees. Camila even got her own chamber, a good ways off from her parents'.
Camila looked down at her hands, finding that Lucan was holding one of them. She watched his finger stroking her hand delicately. Maybe she hadn't exactly tricked him into courting her, maybe she had just made it happen for him, seeing how shy he was earlier. Cam wrapped her fingers around his hand, still feeling his finger stroking her hand as she looked up at him.
"You being a Duke-to-be hardly changes my opinion, Lucan." She caught his eyes and felt as if she might melt. Why hadn't she noticed how smoldering they were before? She paused. Yes, this courtship was definitely a good idea. "I'm happy you told me. Thank you."

She seemed adamant, not returning to her family. This was a risk that Lucan would have to take then. Camila was certainly a stubborn one; Lucan was himself so it would be interesting to see how everything went in that area. “Are you sure you’re alright though?” he asked softly. There was no doubt about it. Camila looked even more stunning in moon light. “I wouldn’t want you to fall ill because of me” his eyes met hers. They were just…GAH! He couldn’t even sum up the words to describe them. They were more than perfection. She was more than perfection. And yet Lucan still couldn’t help but wonder why she had chosen him (despite all the reason stated earlier). He knew from that moment, that he was a lucky man.
He looked down as her fingers wrapped around his hand. There was the spark again, this time even more prominent than before. She was the one. He knew it – he just knew it. When she said that his status didn’t change anything, he was relieved. “I’m glad” he told her, “Most women would have jumped on me by now if they knew” many had tried to before, and thankfully failed. “I know im not exactly the best looking knight here, or the most chivalrous out of them – but I know that now you mean something special to me, and whatever does happen…you always will be.” And that was a promise that he was keeping to her.
Lucan decided to seal this with a kiss to her hand again. Camila needed to know just how much he was prepared to make this happen. It had only been a matter of hours, but he knew. He just knew that Camila would always be a part of him whenever and wherever.

“I wouldn’t want you to fall ill because of me”
"I, fall ill? Come now, Lucan. You should give a girl like me a little more credit." She sounded confidant but her voice was but a soft, gentle voice that would barely be considered a whisper. In all her days, Camila had never been sick and if she were to start today because of this shocking news...
Camila cringed inwardly when he mentioned other women wanting to jump at him. She was surely thankful none of them had. Lucan was very different from all the men she had met in her 19 years and she wasn't going to find any other one like him anytime soon, she was sure of it. Well, unless she went looking around in the villagers and servants would be start to be bashful at the first sight if her interest in them. No. Luc was perfect.
“I know im not exactly the best looking knight here, or the most chivalrous out of them – but I know that now you mean something special to me, and whatever does happen…you always will be.” And with that he gently placed a kiss on her hand, his eyes never releasing hers. She wanted to melt. Her cheeks got pink from the contact of his lips on her skin and she looked away at the ground timidly, hiding her face behind some of her hair for a moment. When she did finally look back up at him, their eyes met again and her lips froze lightly parted around the words she had forgotten she wanted to say. She wanted to tell him that he was far more handsome than any knight, noble or duke she had ever seen. That his eyes made her feel faint again but in a good sense. That he was special to her too.
Closing her mouth, Camila looked down, again, at their hands. They were still wrapped around each other carefully. Cam raised her hand, bringing Lucan's with hers. She looked back into his eyes before she placed his hand on her cheek and grinned lightly at him. She didn't know how else to express herself in this moment but she hoped that this would make everything clear to him. She just adored him. She was falling for him.

Lucan felt his heart flip as she placed his hand on her cheek. It was as though she now trusted him to do so. He caressed his thumb across the coolness of her cheek – even if she had been blushing she did not feel hot, but as cool as snow. Her lips were parted slightly now, Lucan couldn’t help but look at them. They were perfect just like Cam was. He could tell that she had no idea what to say, and that her reply to his words was with the direct touch of his hand to her cheek. Her grin was enough to make him melt on the spot. Had anyone had seen them right now, by the way he was on one knee in front of her, they would have mistaken him proposing to her.
Lucan got up and extended his hand to pull Camila to her feet. “Come my lady, I said that we would walk and that we shall do”. He took off his cloak and wrapped it around her shoulders so that the chill of the evening wouldn’t make her too cold.
“Well, I have to admit I thought I looked good in that – but you seem to have stolen my thunder” she smirked. No doubt Cam could wear a potato sack and still make it look good. It was as though the cloak was made for her and not of a Knight of Camelot. Lucan had layers on anyway – Camila didn’t so it was only right he should offer her some warmth other than just from words.
The darn stand of hair was back lightly across her face; Lucan pushed it back behind her ear gently. She was delicate to him and he knew he would be careful around her. He broke off eye contact with her and finally came to his senses. “Anyway…shall we walk?” he shook his head and then turned to her, “Otherwise before we know it, the night will be over.”
Then that would be it. They would have to part. Even this early on, it hurt thinking about it. Lucan was afraid to say it to himself but he knew that a life without Camila was nothing, and he had no idea what he had done before she had walked into his life this evening. Lucan and Camila. Camila and Lucan. The pairing stuck together in his mind just like apples did to a pie.
Yes, he could most certainly say now that he was falling for her, and too fast for his liking.

Lucan seemed surprise that she had placed his hand on her cheek. She had told him earlier that he did have to agree to her terms of courtship before she would ever let him touch her cheek again. But now it was very obvious that he had every intention to court her and do so properly at that, thus she felt she could give him a sort of reward for his commitment, but also for herself. After a few seconds, his thumb started to stroke her cheek gently. As if she were too fragile for him to be touching but far too tempting to be left untouched. Camila couldn't help but lightly tilt her head to add a little more pressure from his hand to her cheek as butterflies fluttered wildly in her stomach with the warmth of his skin on hers.
“Come my lady, I said that we would walk and that we shall do.” Lucan said as he pulled off his jacket and wrapped it around her petite frame. "Oh, no. I don't want you to get a chill..." She started but Cam knew that there would be no use in it. He was being charming and obviously her cared more about her warmth than his own to give her his coat. Camila stood with him, clinging onto his coat and pulling it around her body more snugly. She hadn't noticed how cold it was outside until then.
“Well, I have to admit I thought I looked good in that – but you seem to have stolen my thunder.” Cam laughed lightly at this. "Then perhaps i will just have to keep it. It would be a shame to make it look any less than it is." She smirked, sounding a little more like herself. Of course, she would not keep it however she would most definitively enjoy it while she had it.
She could not stop blushing tonight! Lucan pushed a strand of hair behind her ear again and her face burned up again and the butterflies stirred up again. “Anyway…shall we walk? Otherwise before we know it, the night will be over.” "Yes, let's." And they did. As they walked, Camila found herself secretly inhaling the scent of his jacket while he wasn't looking without really realizing that she had.
It was odd how the night had brought them together and how much they had changed since they first met. Lucan was far more confident and Camila was the shy one, now.
