Mordred raced through the mud, the rain whipping at his face. His breathing was hard and he thought his heart was going to bust out of his chest. There were men chasing after him, it seemed like they were around ever corner no matter where he went they were there. Mordred was never going to get a break from these no good greedy men. Sure Mordred could probably stay and fight but he was tired he hadn't gotten good sleep in days due to all the rain and the thunder that kept him curled up in a corner. Times were hard for him at the moment and it seemed the thunder did not want to stop shouting either. Mordred jumped down over a small hill and slid the rest of the way having mud cake his legs and back, he would do anything to get away from these monsters. Mordred did not want to be stuck in a metal cage again they were not fun and the men were cruel to him all just for being different.
As he ran faster so did they squinting he saw a small house that seemed to be in the middle of no where a good place to rest for the night that is if he could get away from the men chasing him. Quickly he changed direction so his feet prints would head elsewhere, he was trying to be smart about it all but some of the hunters he faced were wonderful at tracking which made it hard for the poor boy to do anything. The rain seemed to come down harder and he felt like he weighed more than a tree. Mordred curved around trees trying to dodge the sting of their branches. Gaining a slight distance he slipped on loose mud and rolled over closer to the house he had seen in the distance. Laying flat on his back only a few feet away his head pounding. Everything seemed to be blurry but he could hear voices and they were getting closer.
Maybe it would have been easier to just fight his way through freedom for another couple nights but no instead he ran he also didn't know what all he was capable of with his powers, no one had been there to teach him so he has been doing it alone slowly but surly. He ran as fast as he could go and now look at him, he was exhausted unable to get up after that fall and the men were gaining on him, if only it had not been raining than maybe he could have gotten away. He was a smart child but he was still just a child and the fear of the men getting him overwhelmed him. He did not want to be like his parents or his master. What would be the point of getting caught it would ruin their name and he couldn't let that happen. Trying to get up he groaned a little hit head was throbbing hard and his limps were numb. Trying to look around for something, anything to help him even just a little. Sadly there was nothing but mud and water that surrounded him and soon the men would be there to collect the boy and get their money.

The dreams had been hounding her again. As Morgana trod through the wood to return to her home - or hovel - she tried to ignore the memory of those images, using her current task of collecting wood to rid herself of the memory. At one point the dreams had been a curse, and now? Now she was not sure what they were. They were confusing, that was for sure. With a sigh she had to admit they had been easier to deal with when she had had friends around her - friends such as .... no. She could not think of them.
A rattle of... something... caught her ears, and Morgana looked up, interest spiked instantly. She frowned, instinct screaming at her, as she moved forward, raising her hand instantly to attack whoever it was that had found her home. "Reveal yourself," she commanded, condemning herself for the slight shake to her voice
[sorry, I know its very short!! I'll try to make the next one longer ]

Mordred sat up as he heard a woman's voice coming from either the back or the side of him but he was too groggy to tell. He took a deep breath and spoke but only with his mind in all hopes that she was a sorceress so she would be able to help him. If not than he wasn't sure what to do he could just speak up but that would only make the men angry and possibly hurt the innocent girl. Mordred was a nice kid to those who were nice to him first but anyone who crossed him or those he cared about they were on the wrong side of the pole. He wasn't powerful... Not yet anyways everyday he was getting stronger and learning new things, new abilities but without a proper teacher it was not a very fast pacing learning experience. "Please, please help me" he spoke with fear in his voice though it was not through his voice it was with his mind. He tried to hard to reach out to her with out having to use his voice because he did not want to put this girl in danger unless she had something to protect herself with like magic something, there were a lot of men and they were dangerous.
He scooted back a little everything was still so groggy and the rain made it a little harder to see. The thunder roared over head, there was so much commotion Mordred was not sure what to think about. Mordred tried again to speak to her through his mind just to make sure she heard him if she could hear him at all. "They are after me. Please help me." His voice was little more distressed and a tad louder he wanted to make sure she heard oh he hoped she could hear him. His heart began to race even faster. They were right there he could see them clear as day. Some leaned in close and Mordred let out a curdling scream that came from voice and mind sending a wave of pure force sending the men that tried to grab him far away some flew into trees and others hit the ground hard enough they didn't get back up. That didn't stop other from coming for him.
Mordred tried to get up, he tried to scoot away but he was too weak that fall took a toll on his small warn down body. He was sure by now he would be covered in bruises and scraps. There was only so much the young child could do.

The Lady's eyes widened as a child's voice pleaded for help - wait, didn't she know that voice? She was sure she did! She pushed aside the thought, ignoring the whining in her mind that told her not to help whoever was in trouble, but she could not shake his plea from her mind. As she spotted the child, who was reaching out desperately, Morgana snapped into action, moving forward and grasping for the boy, eyes glancing around desperately to figure out who was after him. It seemed that whoever it was was vile enough to go after an innocent child. "Where are you?" she shouted through the fog and mist. "Let me help you!"
His words again made her heart thump in pity for him, and made her more deterimined than ever to try and help the child. The scream tore through her, and for a moment Morgana's heart stopped. Her eyes widened as she witnessed a man she hadn't seen before fly back onto the ground with a heavy thump, her own heart thumping heavily. Her eyes darted from the man to the terrain around her, finally spotting the boy as he struggled to get up, his wariness clear. She ran over, glancing around about them before murmuring a few words of magic, summoning a mist to hide them as she took the child's hands. "It is alright. You are safe now, I will help you," she asssured, before gathering him into her arms and running toward her home.

As he scooted back he all of a sudden felt someone grasp him and for a short moment his heart stopped his mind went straight to the worst person and he almost, almost blew the person away as well but than a voice came and broke through the darkness it was a woman a familiar woman, her voice it brought back memories of Morgana but that couldn't have been right this place would not suit a woman of her stature but he did not concentrate on that as a quick fog surrounded them and he had been scooped up. His head still fuzzy and he couldn't really see. The only thing he saw was a slim figure with long dark hair and he gripped to her tightly. "Thank you" a weak voice came to her in her mind as she hurried away from the vial men that had been after him. He was not sure where he would be with out her. Normally he was able to escape with ease but this time he had just been so tired and so weak, his small body only allowed him to do so much and with him continuously practicing his magic it took a small toll on him and with the storms that had happened not too long ago many of the berries one could eat were smashed or already taken by the animals for the forest.
Mordred rested as she made her way away from the men who were now angrier than ever but did not dare go further because now there were two sorcerers and that was too much to the mere mortal men to handle especially with a lot of them dead or injured. He was safe alas and he could rest a little bit. Mordred closed his eyes but his grip on the woman did not cease, he gripped her tight enough his little fingers turned pale white. But he was still able to rest his mind. While Mordred rested a little he still could not help but wonder who this marvelous woman was, she seemed so familiar yet so different at the same time, could he trust her or was he just another pawn for someone to use only when the fog was gone and he opened his eyes would he be able to see and know who she truly was. Would his search be over? Who knew and honestly Mordred was too tired to really care at the moment, all he wanted was to sit where it was warm and than maybe have a small bite to eat if there was anything near by that is.

Morgana smiled as the child's weak voice thanked her. "You're welcome," she whispered softly, holding him close as she made her way to her den, opening the door and moving inisde, still holding the boy close. It was only when she went to put him down that she realised who he was. "Mordred?" the disbelief was clear in her voice, though it came with a smile as his features brought back better memories. The smile disappeared quickly though as she realised what a state he was in, and she quickly went about trying to make him feel better.
Moving over to her bed, she quickly lay him down, fetching a glass filled with water from the side, pressing it gently to his lips. "Here, you must drink," she stated quietly. "I promise it will not harm you, you are safe here."

It was soon that they had entered her little shack and things were clear now there was no fog no rain and luckily no mud! The lady had set Mordred on a bed and with shock she had said his name but before he could react or really even open his eyes she had hurried away to get him water. Holding the glass to his mouth he sucked down the water taking large gulps until it was gone. The water seemed so fresh, so nice he couldn't help but let of a small sight of relief as his throat became moistened and clear. Looking around everything seemed to be rather blurry, blinking a few times things seemed to swirl into focus. Looking around he saw a fire and chairs and some shelves it seemed cozy than as he made his way around the room he spotted her! The one person he had been searching for all a long Lady Morgana!" Despite the fact that he was tired and his head hurt his excitement was glowing from his face, he smiled from ear to ear as he reached in and hugged her tightly. He had been looking for her since he had heard of her taking over the castle and than being banished, and seeing as Mordred had no one else left he went off and began his search for her, running from men and trying to stay dry. It was finally nice to have found her after those many harsh nights.
"I am glad I found you! I have been searching the woods for you since I heard you have not been at the castle." He gave a soft smile it was a weak one but it was there none the less as he spoke to her through his mind, still not really wanting to use his words. It was just more of a habit now for him a lot easier to do when other sorcerers were around. He rubbed his head a little where he had hit it on his fall and there was a slight bump on it, wincing at the pain it caused just by his light touch. All the rain and mud it was a wonder not a lot of people slipped off of hills and hurt themselves, maybe Mordred was just one of the lucky ones. He sat up and positioned himself so he could look at her with a straight view. Her face and her eyes made him feel safe, he knew Morgana would always protect him as she had done in the past.

The smile that came to the child's eyes warmed Morgana's heart, although she could see the tiredness pulling at the boy. "Mordred, it is so good to see you again," she replied honestly, returning the hug he gave her tenfold, this sudden burst of life and light into her life a welcome break from the darkness that forever threatened to pull her under.
"I am glad you found me, also," she confessed. "Much has changed..." she sighed quietly, seeing his weak smile, reminding herself that he was but a child, and such things, at least for now, were not to be burdened upon him. "But for now you should rest. I swear to you, you are safe here. I will not let harm come to you, you have my word." Morgana glanced at him in concern as the boy rubbed his forehead, and winced, guessing at the cause. "I can prepare you a medicine that will help with the pain," she offered softly, even as Mordred sat up to meet her eyes.

He smiled kindly at her. It had been such a long time since he had seen her. The last time was when he came to her for her help on retrieving the crystal but despite the excellent work Lady Morgana had done they still failed at keeping it which made Mordred a little irritated because he would have been able to figure its magic out in a matter of weeks but no, Arthur and his men had to come and destroy everything as usual. But that was the past this was now and now he was with Lady Morgana a woman he had never been closer to. Somehow they had this special bond that he was not complaining about, it was nice to have someone there for him that was not going to use him or mistreat him, but someone he could laugh with even if it was a little laugh everything helped in this time.
Morgana told him that she would make him something for his wound and that he could rest. She also reassured him that he was completely safe and she would not let any harm come to him. The thought of no harm was like a dream really he had always been on the run or always looking over his shoulder so it was a nice breath of fresh air really. With all that being said he laid back on the bed and closed his eyes as Morgana told him she would make some medicine that would help with the head pain. "Th-a-n-k y-o-u" He said in an almost exhausted out of breath voice as he closed his eyes. One his eyes closed it did not take even a minute and he was out. Mordred fell fast a sleep and the little kid looked of peace. His big icy blue eyes hidden from the world and his breath almost lifeless though if you look close enough it is obvious that he is breathing. The boy was exhausted and rest in a actual bed in a actual house was refreshing for him. NOTE: Sorry it is a little short. It will be longer next post! I will have him up and about next post as well haha!

Morgana graced the boy with a soft smile as he thanked her, and she moved to the cupboard, pulling out a healing potion that was doused with a sleeping medication. Thankfully she had taken it from Gaius' chambers many months ago, when she had still been a friend of Camelot, and miricle of miricle, it had somehow survived all that had happened. She knew it woudl do wonders for Mordred, and he certainly looked like he could do with the rest.
Moving back to his side, she paused, for a moment terrified the boy she cared so deeply for was actually unconscious, but after a second of laying her hand on his chest, realising he was but sleeping. A soft breath of relief left her lips and she nodded, placing the vial by the side, raising the covers of her bed up around him, to protect him from the winds that sometimes threaded through the small hovel. "Sleep, Mordred," she whispered to the already asleep boy. "Rest, for you are most deserving of it."
NOTE: Not a problem!!! Apologies for the same length with my post!!!!

It had seemed like hours that Mordred had slept but in all actuality it had only maybe been half an hour if that but his eyes opened slowly as he tired to pull his surroundings into focus. It took him a minute as he slowly sat up but everything that surrounded him came clear and he was as expected still in Lady Morgana's home which was honestly a nice relief. There was always a part of him that feared he would wake up in a cage or a cell, something unwanted, but he was here so it was all good. Lifting his arms that felt extremely heavy and he whipped his eyes. With a large yawn he looked around to find Lady Morgana, letting the blanket fall off the top half of his body he moved it slightly as he stepped on the floor "Lady Morgana?" he asked as he looked around. The place may have been small but there were some places to hide or not to be seen if standing by.
He saw a fire going and he walked over to it and sat on the floor as close as he could get to it without burning himself it was warm unlike outside though if he listened it seemed it had stopped raining. Mordred smiled a little to himself liked the days that it would rain and than stop the smell of it was wonderful and it seemed peaceful, all the little animals would come back out of hiding it was an interesting time if one took the time to think about it. Either way Mordred liked it and being out on your own in nature you got to experience a lot of things most people wouldn't which could also become an advantage.
As he sat on the floor his stomach grumbled a little bit and he placed a hand on his belly than he slid his hand into his pocket. Feeling around he grabbed out a couple nuts he got from a tree hole and cracked it open. It was not much but it was something. Mordred liked to carry small berries or nuts with him just encase he gets hungry, they made good snacks to hold him over so he could find something better. Nothing luxurious but it was filling and kept him fueled so that was all that mattered. He sat there quiet waiting for Morgana to speak or do something, he was in her home now and he would be respectful.

The returning of Mordred had reminded the Witch of her roots. For to him she had been the Morgana of old, kind and careful. Was she any of those things now? The brunette was beginning to wonder -- what had become of her? She had once loved and been loved, and now she had no one. No, not quite true... she had Mordred. But would the boy still want her, still want to be her friend, if he knew the truth? If he knew all that had passed?
His voice saying her name drove Morgana from dark thoughts, and she was grateful to him. The pot that held the soup she had been stirring bubbled, and Morgana took it from teh flames, dishing it into a couple of plates. Though nothing compared to those she had once dined on in Camelot, they were well made and did their duty. "I had thought you would sleep longer, Mordred," she spoke quietly, but with a smile.
The brunette watched the boy sit on the floor, taking nuts out of his pocket and beginning to eat them. "It has been a long time since last we met," she stated, "please, come by the fire, be warm. I have made soup, if you would like some. I am afraid it is not much, but it will warm you and fill you."

He looked over at Morgana when she spoke to him. Mordred smiled at her and shrugged a little "I thought so to, I think it is just habit for me now." It could be true considering he doesn't sleep often because he needs to keep moving, always on the run from hunters. For an odd reason they favored him, maybe it was because he was the one they couldn't catch and keep, that would make sense but he did not take a lot of time trying to think about that. Mordred was in the company of Lady Morgana a woman he had great respect for, someone he cared deeply for and matter of fact the only person who has not been taken from him so Morgana was very special to him and he wanted to get in as much time with her as he could.
She handed him some soup and he had thanked her. It looked good, anything better than he has had in a long time. Mordred sniffed it and turned to Morgana "Looks and smells delicious Lady Morgana!" He was not lying either, the boy was grateful for anything he got and to have it from Morgana which made it that much better. Mordred was so excited to see Morgana it had been such a long time, he was just so excited though he wished they would have met on better circumstances unlike they did earlier with the rain with the men that were after him. It had been such a long day he was happy she was there to help him and no he was in her home safe and sound.
She said something about it being such a long time since they last seen one another and he couldn't agree more with her. "It has been a long time. Many things has happened since our last meeting. How have you been Lady Morgana?" He scooped up some soup into his mouth and when he swallowed it everything warmed up on the inside of his body it was wonderful really, he was warm on the inside and out. Mordred sat curled by the fire eating soup that was made by Morgana he couldn't have been happier everything was said through the boys large blue eyes.

The boys words made sense, and Morgana nodded her understanding. "It is hard to be at peace when one has been hunted," she agreed softly. "But please know that you are safe here; I will do whatever I can for you," The boy was the only link to the life that she had once had, the only good thing left in her life. Perhaps he would help her see where she had gone so wrong; perhaps now she need not be alone.
His enthusiasm about the soup made her chuckle, the first in a long time, and Morgana's eyes crinckled into a smile. "I wish I could give you better, Mordred," She lamented softly. "Alas, this is all I have." She paused. "And please, there is no need to call me 'Lady' any longer," she sighed quietly. "I am a friend of Camelot no longer, I fear." She feared little, but she knew for certain she would never be regarded in Camelot in the same way she had been for so long. No one would trust her - how could they?
Mordred's word were true; much had happened. "That is a question all in itself, Mordred," She smiled at him, though her heart was a little sad that this was how he had found her. "Things are better now that you are here," That was at least true. "And how have you been?"

"I suppose you are right, it is hard when being hunted but I guess that is the price I pay for my gift." A gift was right, magic was was nothing to be taken lightly, it was in fact something to be feared if wielded by the wrong person, however it did not need to be the wrong person just some wrong doing. Uther like some others hate it and through that hate comes fear there for magic is not allowed, there is no speaking of it, using it, or housing it. One will sentence themselves to death by just mentioning. But Mordred did not think too much on that because they were not happy thoughts everything Uther has done has destroyed what he had once had.
Morgana had spoke of soup and Mordred beamed up at her as a child would their mother "I think the soup is wonderful Lady Morgana. The best I have had in a long time!" Mordred did not lie it was true very true but he was just a child after all and has not been able to experience the many things that say Lady Morgana has. Shrugging it off Morgana spoke again saying there was not reason to call her 'Lady Morgana' anymore for she was no friend of Camelot and Mordred just smiled at her "You will always be Lady Morgana to me. Camelot has no rule over me and as long as I breath Lady Morgana you will always be royalty in my eyes." Yes Mordred just went there, he may be a child but he spoke with wisdom... Some of the time that is. But everything that came out of the boys mouth was true at least true in his mind.
He listened to her speak and from the sounds of it things have not been too well for her and Mordred felt for her. Knowing what it was like to be on the short end of the stick "I am glad I could make your day better. Lady Morgana I will always be there for you as you were for me" Mordred loved Morgana, she had always been there for him she had risked everything to get him to safety so he would always be there for her. Not to mention the bond they had developed the first time they met, it was a strange yet strong bond that slightly confused the boy but he did not resist it. "To be honest Lady Morgana it has been hard. I have lost everything to Uther and his rule and now because of him I am hunted day and night. No good comes to me and I fear I will bring this upon you." Mordred leaned against her knee his bowl in hand, he was not sure what to do the bad seemed to follow him everywhere. Note: it's a little cheesy and cute but I could not resist haha XD

To hear Mordred speak of such unwavering loyalty to her made the brunette's heart fill a little with happiness and warmth - how she had missed the approval, respect and love of other people. To become Arthur and Uther's enemies had distanced her from them so much, and she missed the dinners, the talks, even Arthur teasing her. If only.... no. The brunette shook the thought away - things could not change. Morgause had taught her as much, and she knew that the other Witch was far wiser than Morgana herself would ever be. "I am glad you like the soup," she said honestly. "And I thank you for your words. It has been... sometime since I have heard such kindness spoken,"
Morgana smiled, sitting close to Mordred, grateful for the light the boy brought into her life. "And I will still be here for you, as much as I can," she promised softly. Perhaps she could even do more now than she had been able to before; she did not have to hide who she was, and she answered to noone... but then again, if she was caught, she didn't know what Uther and Arthur might do to her. She listened intently as Mordred spoke of how it had been for him, nodding solomnly. As he spoke of bringing badness, she rested a hand upon his back. "I will protect you," she promised softly. "I know well what is to fear death consistantly; it is why I left Camelot - " there was far more too it, of course, but she was not about to burden Mordred with her tale. "Just know that you are safe here, Mordred, and are welcome here as long as you wish to remain."
NRP: Haha I love it! *hugs Mordred*! I'm so sorry it took me so long to get to replying to this thread!

Lifting the bowl to his little lips he finished off the soup down to the last drop. He had a small half smile that graced his lips as he places the bowl in his lap. His stomach bulged a little from the food seeing as he does not eat a lot everyday so to have a meal like this his little tummy became packed but he enjoyed every little swallow he took and stopped at nothing till he finished his home cooked meal. Mordred nodded as she said that she was happy he liked her food, of course how could he not she made it for him so it made it all the better. "May I ask you something?" Mordred wanted to know why she tried to take over Camelot, he could not blame her for not wanting to be under Uther's rule and he doubted that Arthur's would be much better no matter what others had said. But he did not understand why she wanted to be Queen, was it for the power, the respect? He did not know she was his daughter.
Even upon knowing such information would never change his opinion about Morgana because she risked everything for him more than once and that alone proves to him that she is worthy of his friendship but his curiosity would always get the better of this child. "It would be nice to have a home... But I do not want to bring my bad fortune upon you." Mordred wanted nothing more than to stay with her forever but with him being hunted it would only be a matter of days before hunters would be knocking down her door. It was one thing if he was caught but he could not put Morgana's life into danger as well, he would never forgive himself if that happened. Though the more he thought about it the more he knew that Morgana was more than capable of taking care of herself, her powers grew strong within her as they did himself but he just couldn't shake the thought of something bad happening to her because of him.

Morgana watched with motherly affection as the boy drakn his fill of the soup, revelling in this feeling of being... liked by someone. Of not having to plot, to plan, to simply sustain herself. In Mordred's eyes, she was worthy of respect, of dillagence. As he asked if he could enquire something, the brunette gave him a soft smile. "Of course," she promised softly. "Mordred, you have full permission to speak freely with me, regarding any matter." If he had ever needed permission at all.
She smiled a little as he spoke of having a home. "I am afraid this is not exactly what one might call a home, but you are more than welcome to stay here as long as you wish," assured Morgana. She sighed at his mention of bad fortune, shaking her head. "I fear I bring enough of that upon myself, Mordred. Therefore whatever you might bring does not shake my thoughts - you are welcome here, as long as you wish to be here."

He looked up at her and gave her a soft smile at the invitation of him staying with her. Thought made him a little giddy but would she really want a little boy living with her, children were a big responsibility but of course he did know how to take care of himself he knew how to fend for food, bathe and clothe himself so he was good in a lot of the areas, but alas he was still a child who did want to have fun and play in the fields but seeing as he is hunted so much that did not really happen with him. There were just so many ups and downs to having a true home one he could come back to over and over again one with a friend. Mordred found a great bond within Morgana something he had not shared within anyone ever it was almost greater than a mothers bond with her child... If that was possible or course he was not sure seeing as he did not have a mother nor did he know the protection, love, and care of one either. Morgana was the closest thing he had and he cherished it greatly. "I may stay." He beamed though he still was not sure.
Morgana granted him permission to speak but he was a little iffy on it he wanted to or not, he did not want to bring bad memories back or make her angry with him but he wanted to know. What ever the outcome might be it would not change anything in his eyes and he would always stick by Morgana's side to help her as she once helped him. Morgana saved his life and he forever was in her debt. "Why did you try to take over Camelot?" Mordred just spit it out and looked up at her. His question was innocent he was just thirsty for knowledge and he needed to know. He knew Uther was a hated man but he was old and surly his death bed would await him soon and than Arthur would come into play as King and well Mordred did not know why she would want to take over if he was on the throne, Mordred did not care for him too much but he did help save his life. There were many questions the child wanted answers to but to get them was another story.
