Guinevère had never been subtle or quick to think of lies, or even a good liar! She rambled and got nervous, and fidgeted and even on one account started cry. So helping her mistress hid a child wanted by the king was both frightening for Guinevère, and thrilling. It was frightening because while Morgana held the rank to keep her shoulders on her head, Guinevère did not. Thrilling because she had never done something to help someone who needed it more then this nameless child.
Entering the room, Guinevère shut the door behind her and looked around, "Is he sleeping?" She asked, trying to tell. He was healing from his wound since Merlin asked Gaius for help but they all knew he could not stay in Morgana's room forever! Sitting the tray of Morgana's lunch down she walked over to her lady to stare at the boy. How would they get him out of here? Where would he even go?
He could not stay here but what did you do with a child? How did you get them to safety when there was no where to get him? "Did he speak any?" She asked, knowing he never spoke. Or at least not yet.

It was strange, this sudden protection for a child she did not even know. Morgana stared down at the sleeping boy thoughtfully, her left hand holding her head a little. How strange a turn life had taken. From being bored to hiding a druid boy destined to die by the King. But why should she not help him? He had done nothing wrong, he was just a boy! How could someone so innocent be a threat to someone like Uther? Morgana's lip curled. She knew well enough that one did not need to be innocent to be saved from the King's wrath and fear. For yes, truly, it was fear that was making the King make these decisions, fear that was pulling him forth into such a truly awful decision.
She started out of her thoughts as Gwen entered the room, sighing softly as she asked whether the boy was sleeping or not. "He seems to be," she stated softly, her eyes still on the young boy. "I am sorry for making you a part of this, Gwen," added the ward quietly. "There are few others I could trust though, and he is innocent - he did not deserve death."
At the question of whether the boy had spoken yet, Morgana shook her head. "I am starting to wonder whether he can actually speak at all," she confessed. "or whether he is merely chosing not to. Not that I would blame him. In this Kingdom to speak is sometimes to sign one's own excecution." she couldn't hlep the bitterness in her own words, and neither did she regret them, for it was how she felt. "How could the King wish to kill someone so innocent, so pure?" she wondered aloud.

"He seems to be," Good! That would allow him to get in the rest he needed and try to heal from the injury. Guinevère could only assume that a guard gave it to him and he just managed to escape. How frightening that had to be for a child. To come so close to death, and just escape. It was something she could relate too. "I am sorry for making you a part of this, Gwen," Looking from the boy to her mistress, Guinevère spoke up quickly, "No, I want to help!" "There are few others I could trust though, and he is innocent - he did not deserve death." Morgana had spoken up for Guinevère when she was in danger as well! "We will find a way to help him."
She wasn't sure how, but she knew they would. "I am starting to wonder whether he can actually speak at all," Or would not, "or whether he is merely choosing not to. Not that I would blame him. In this Kingdom to speak is sometimes to sign one's own execution." Morgana seemed to be of the same mind as Guinevère. "Perhaps he is still afraid?"
"How could the King wish to kill someone so innocent, so pure?" Guinevère wasn't sure. A child? Someone who had not learned the evils of this world yet--or was just learning them now and they saw the royal name of Pendragon as dangerous. "You know how he is. He hears magic and becomes blinded. He knows the Druids use it openly." Which made him blinded by the boy's age. "He needs to build up strength, before he leaves, or he will not make it far."

She gave her handmaiden a soft smile as Gwen protested that she wanted to help, and that they would find a way to help the boy. "You have such a good heart, Gwen," she stated. "I am grateful you and I are friends." Morgana sighed, looking back at the small boy. "We must find a way to get him out of Camelot. If he stays he will die..." And she coudl not allow that to happen. This boy did not deserve Uther's wrath!
The ward nodded as Gwen suggested that perhaps he was afraid. "I would not blame him," she repeated her earlier words. "To be here with magic... it is to offer oneself to the block." She shuddered at the thought. "I cannot let that happen to him, Gwen." She would never forgive herself if she did. The words her handmaiden spoke were true though; Uther's wrath with magic was well known. He had made it be so. He cared not whether a person used magic for right or for wrong, simply that they used it. "I will try to get him to eat a little, when I can." Morgana said softly, biting her lip.
