Guinevère had found passion in the man she married but in this afternoon she found something driffernt. She found a friend. They spoke and laughted and teased. She learned him in ways that she had not expected to know a husband--or any man--before. So when the after regreatfully came to a close, she wished with everything breath she took that he would agree to come tomorrow as well. Even if only for lunchen. "You're sure you'll be alright?" He asked as he was prepairing to leave, and Guinevère found herself smiling. "I will. I find my afternoon looks brighter thenmy morning did." Because of him. "Thank you for that."
"If you like, I can come tonight. Just so you don't have to be alone." The surprise on her face was telling. "You . . . . wish to stay?" Here. At night. With her. Knowing they could do nothing but more talking? She smiled slowly, but it turned into a bright sort of smile. Yes, she loved this man and the urge to tell him so came over her strongly but she also wanted the moment to perfect and not come from her tears. She wanted to give him time to see if he could feel the same about her. "I'd like that." The queen admitted. "Very much."

Arthur found himself growing a bit nervous waiting for her answer. It was clear that she was surprised by his offer . . . though her words made him instantly feel relieved, for while she was surprised she was not unwelcoming of his company tonight. He smiled in return, letting his mind relax at the knowledge that she would permit him to come. "I would," he said, responding to her question. "I will even bring Cabal and Bohrs. The more the merrier, right?" He said jokingly. They had joked about the two pups being their 'children' but considering how that was what had upset her this morning -- this lack of children -- then he purposely avoided using that specific word.
Knowing that he had to leave -- though wishing he could stay longer -- he took comfort in the fact that he would see her tonight. He placed his hand on her chin, cupping it to tilt her head up as he lowered his to rest his lips on hers in a soft and tender kiss. Letting it linger for a few moments he slowly pulled away, the soft smile almost immediately returning. "I will see you tonight." Any suggestiveness was left out of his voice for tonight was not about that -- it couldn't be. But that did not mean he wasn't looking forward to it. So with those final words, gave a small nod of his head and regrettably left her chambers.

Guinevère's eyes closed for the kiss and when she opened then he stood there for a moment, "I shall count the moments until then." She promised, looking forward to seeing not only him but their 'children' too. Arthur might have been the man her father saw as strong and the man he wanted to control the neighboring kingdom, but Guinevère was coming to see him as something so very much more.
As he walked out, she stood there and smiled to herself. Arthur was strong and confidant and yet there were moments when she saw him as kind and gentle as well. His men--brothers he called them--loved him, not followed a king because their fathers had. His people adored him, and not as he claimed, because he saved them from his sister. He cared for them and wanted them to grow strong. . . . and his wife . . .
His wife was in awe of him.
The day moved slowly, and when the night came it moved too quickly. Arthur came as promised and they laughed and spoke more. This time of things he wanted from his kingdom, and she even found she agreed with most. He even danced with her to no music at all just to make her smile. When the time came that she could no longer remain awake he tucked her into bed, and she fell asleep before he could leave.
Her next days were filled with packing and organizing. Their trip though out the kingdom was approaching and she needed to be ready for it. Apart of her feared that while he had said they would share a room, that her female time would prevent them from doing so. But then, the day before they were to leave, it stopped.
Wanting to give herself time to be fully clean, she gave it that night, and at dawn when she awoken the sheets were still white! Tonight when they stopped she could again welcome her husband. The trucks were packed, and Guinevère--dressed in a white and gold travel gown--walked down the steps to the courtyard and the awaiting carriage. It was fully covered, and ready in case it might rain, though this morning looked brighter then ever.

The nights with her were wonderful. While of course he enjoyed their nights of passion, these nights held a different sort of intimacy. They were just enjoying each others company, and continuing to learn more and more about one another. As he already knew, the more he learned about her . . . the more attached he was growing to her. And not just in a way a king would for his queen, but as a man would for a woman; as a husband would for a wife. He thought of their first night together, thinking of how he should have asked if she wanted to wait . . . for he had given the wrong impression of himself that night. While he could not take it back, he could spend the rest of his life making it up to her, which is exactly what he intended to do.
The first night in her chambers he had fallen asleep in a chair nearby, wanting to wait for her to sleep before he left -- which was the plan. But when he opened his eyes he'd realized that he'd fallen asleep too, and that it was morning. These nights just made him look forward to his trip with her even more. So when the day finally came, he was filled with anticipation and excitement. He stood by the carriage door, talking to a few of the men, when he saw the queen emerge from the door, looking at beautiful as ever. Arthur smiled, finding himself captivated by her beauty -- as he often was -- and his gaze of soft longing locked on her as she took each step closer toward him. Finally snapping out of it, he managed to speak. "My Lady," he greeted, lowering his head a little, still distracted by her appearance and grace in which she so naturally had. "Do you have everything you require?" He asked, wanting to make sure she was fully prepared for the trip.

He was so charming and handsome, that Guinevère often forgot that he was not raised to be a gentleman nor knight. He had this unworldly confidence at times, like when he looked at her now, that made her think they were untouchable with him near. "Actually, I do not." She admitted and looked back at Rosa who blushed and looked down.
Looking back at her husband Guinevère smiled, "Rosa has been given the chance to learn to ride better, and will escorted by one of your knights on our first day of the trip . . . . which leave me in the carriage alone." Unless her husband took pity on her and offered to ride with her.

When she said that she did not have all that she required, Arthur looked at her, curious as to whether she had forgotten something or needed something she could not obtain. Either way, he would get it for her. But as she continued . . . he realized what she meant. That 'certain knight' that Rosa would be traveling with was most certainly Galahad. He glanced over at Rosa, before his eyes and full attention returned to his wife. "Hmm. Now it would be quiet sad indeed of you were to have no company in the carriage. It would make for a lonely journey." Though Arthur already knew what he was going to do to fix that. It felt easier to be at ease with no one else watching or listening.
If Rosa had sat in the carriage, and he joined them too . . . it would not be the same as riding alone with his wife. Taking a moment to pretend to think -- though he already knew the solution, he smiled and spoke to his men. "I will be riding in the carriage with the queen," he informed them. Until they needed a change of scenery -- like if Guinevère wished to ride on horseback -- then this is how it would stay. He looked at his wife once again, his smile growing a little. "Now does my lady have all that she requires?" He repeated, offering his hand to help her into the carriage.

Yes, if her husband was joining her then she would have everything she wanted and then some. "Yes, I believe that should do it." She teased with a brightening smile before looking back at Rosa and then turning so someone could help her into the covered carriage. Guinevère took her seat facing the forward seat, leaving Arthur to take the one facing the rear.
Once they were in, she smiled over at him. "Thank you for riding with me, I wasn't sure if this would be come too boring for you." A ride with nothing to do really. "Did you get everything you needed to get done before we set out?" She asked, assuming he did as they left on time but wanting to know rather then just assume and find out later he had not.

When the queen was settled in the carriage, Arthur briefly spoke to a few of the men before he joined her. He took his position in the seat opposite of her so that he could face her properly. She spoke of how she hoped that this wouldn't be too boring for him, and Arthur knew that nothing could be further from that possibility. "I wanted you to come on this journey so that I could spend time with you," he told her. That was one of the many reasons, but the most personal was one was so that they could spend time together; continue to get to know one another. "So sitting with you, is exactly where I would like to be." It would make this particular journey so much more different than the others where he rode on horseback . . . and didn't have the company of a lovely woman.
"I did," he assured her, not wanting her to worry about that. "Any pressing matters have been settled, and I'm sure the council can handle things in our absence." 'Our' because they ruled together. "Are you feeling better?" He asked, hoping that she was well enough for this trip as he didn't want her to feel pressured. He would have delayed it if she was unwell . . . so truly hoped that she was not pushing herself. "If you need to stop and rest, then just say the word." And they could easily take an unscheduled stop, for the queen's health was of paramount importance.

'Our'! He linked their names and she found herself smiling at the thought. "Wonderful, then we can enjoy this trip with few worries." She suggested, as they rolled out of the gates and into the roads. "It will be wonderful to see the kingdom, and really see it this time. I find myself eager for that as well as spending time with my husband."
Tilting her heard as if thinking, "Though if I had to choose, perhaps I would say I am more eager for one then the other." Her husband being the winning side in the all too short debate her mind had. "I feel wonderful, and no rest shall be needed--I feel well enough that apart of my eagerness is not only for my husbands company, but to again feel his touch." A hint to how she was again ready to receive him.

Arthur smiled as she went on to say how she was eager to see the kingdom, and see it with her husband. He was too. Well, eager to see it with his wife . . . not himself. But yes. He was greatly looking forward to this trip, and her excitement for it only made his own grow. It wasn't until she spoke about how her eagerness was also for . . . his touch. His touch? Was she teasing him? More like tormenting. While he enjoyed the nights of just talking to her . . . it didn't mean he didn't, need her. In more, physical ways. Which is why he always wanted to make it a point to spend time with her when they could not be physically together . . . for her to know that he would not, satisfy that need with another. Yet right now, she was speaking of things that only made that ache in him, grow.
There was nothing they could do about it though. Because clearly, Arthur Pendragon was not very good at picking up on subtle hints. He realized that he was just staring at her for a few moments, with his mouth slightly open as if to say something, yet was rendered speechless. In the end, he just ended up slightly clearing his throat. "Good weather for traveling today." Arthur inwardly cursed at his own stupid words. He just needed to desperately change the subject and not think about . . . her suggestive words. She may have better self control, but he didn't. And well, nothing could happen. So the weather seemed like a relatively safe subject. A ridiculous one, but still safe.

She was hinting that they could be together tonight and he spoke of the . . . . weather? Guinevère could only stare at him for a moment before she wondered if he understood. "Yes, quite lovely." She admitted, "Thought I think it a bit warm." A reason to remove anything like her shawl for it was just the first of many.
Setting it to the side she looked back at her husband. "If you grow warm I could help you remove your cape if you'd like." She offered, "I think it could get very arm in here." She not planned it but once the idea hit she was coming to wonder if she dared . . . . did she dare . . . . .

There was something very suggestive about the way the spoke . . . and something very sensual about the way she removed her shawl. Arthur wondered if he was reading too much into it . . . but how could he, after her words of his touch? Why was she doing this to him?! There were not many things that could leave him flustered and frazzled . . . but she did. Especially now. And now she was offering to remove his cape. To have her come so closer to him . . . to do something too intimate -- wait. Was he just thinking it was too intimate? What if she meant it completely casually? Why was his mind over thinking this?! "I uh . . . " Arthur couldn't even form words right now. Instead, he just shifted uncomfortably in his seat.
The discomfort was not from how he was sitting, but from how his body was reacting to thoughts of her . . . thoughts of being intimate with her. "It is getting rather warm . . . " So he should remove his cape, himself. Instead, he just gave a slight tug at the collar of the chainmail. It had indeed gotten drastically warm in the carriage all of a sudden. Yet, he did not remove his cape. Because he wanted her to . . . even knowing it was stupid to want such a thing when they could not actually be together. It was not helping his situation at all, but as he knew, he lacked the control to keep distant from her right now. A strange irony indeed, because he wasn't sure he had the strength to . . . restrain himself from her.

Guinevère smiled brightly when he said he was warm in there but had not removed his cape. She quickly shifted so she was seated beside him and tucked her knees up so they rested over his thigh and her toes dangled from his leg. "For safely," She told him him in a tone that said it was anything but. "Now, allow me to help you feel better." SO much better then he had for days she hoped.
