.:Name of Character:. Rowan d'Auber .:Nick Name:. Rowan .:Age:. Twenty .:Race:. Camelotian .:Status:. Nobility
| ~ • ~ | Appearance | ~ • ~ |
.:Physical Appearance:. Rowan certainly has the d’Auber look – dark brown hair and pale skin. She has a petit build, something which is annoyingly obvious whenever she’s with any of her much taller brothers. She’s usually covered in small cuts and bruises and doesn’t seem to be able to go a day without getting mud all over her clothes – much to her brother Iwan’s dismay. .:Height:. 5'4 .:Portrayed by:. Claire Foy

.:Personality:.Rowan is an energetic young woman who always manages to find adventure out of life. She’s the youngest and only girl out of four siblings and so spent her childhood with only brothers for company. As such, she’s always enjoyed more boyish pastimes – riding, climbing, archery etc. Her parents had always been divided about how she should be brought up: her father wanted her taught how to be the proper wife and mother, while her mother thought she should be allowed to do whatever made her happy. Because of this, she was often forced (quite against her will) to learn embroidery and dancing, as well as how to charm the richest man in the room.
She can be sneaky and mischievous – she and Ciaran are often doing their best to wind up Kay and Iwan. She is normally the instigator in such things, and the one who’s able to convince other people to help in her schemes when necessary. From a young age she learnt how to manipulate those around her, something she uses to her full advantage. Her mother had a habit of indulging her when she was small, so she can be assertive, easily irritated and more than a little narcissistic. She’s often far too stubborn for own good and can remember every single slight she’s suffered. But, despite this, she’s a great believer in living for the moment and often doesn’t bother to think about the consequences of her actions, or if she does her thought is that Iwan will deal with it later.
Rowan has a Romantic nature and would spend as much of her time traipsing across hills and fields as she can. She dreams of adventure – which would make Camelot quite a handy place to be if she wasn’t told to go and hide in her room every time there was a hint of danger, although she usually manages to sneak out anyway. .:Strengths:. Rowan is assertive, strong-willed and determined – when she knows what she wants there is a very high chance that she’ll get it, whether by her own means or by getting someone else to do it for her. She has a great lust for life and the ability to find the fun in most situations – even if that is probably inappropriate. She isn’t one to be easily embarrassed or put off something once she’s set her mind to it. .:Weaknesses:. She can be very naïve and often doesn’t think about the consequences of her actions. Usually her brothers are able to get her out of trouble so she often relies on this rather than herself, or simply not doing whatever it is. Her indulgent childhood has led her to become quite selfish and actively seeks being the centre of attention. As she’s always in search of adventure and the adrenaline rush, she is prone to putting herself in dangerous situations – whether on purpose or by not thinking about it beforehand. Despite her close relationship with her siblings, Rowan isn’t the most empathetic of people, usually ignoring the feelings of others in order to get or do what she wants. .:Magic Abilities:. None .:Special Skills:. Archery, climbing and persuasion .:Accents:. Southern English
| ~ • ~ | History | ~ • ~ |
.:Birthplace:. The d'Auber Estate, Camelot .:Family:. Lord Ector, father (deceased) Lady Eloise, mother (deceased) Kay, older brother Iwan, older brother Ciaran, twin brother .:Occupation:. None .:Current Location of Residence:. The d'Auber Estate, Camelot .:History:. Rowan is the youngest of Lord Ector and Lady Eloise d’Auber’s children as well as the only girl. She spent the majority of her childhood either getting into trouble with her twin, Ciaran, or being spoilt by their mother – much to the irritation of her father. Like all the d’Auber children, her relationship with her father was not a strong one. He often disapproved of her behaviour, preferring her to spend her time learning how to be a wife and mother instead of outside with her brothers. She often ignored him though as her mother always encouraged her to enjoy life, rather than be told what to do by other people. From a fairly young age she was used to getting her own way and had learnt how to make her brothers do whatever she wanted – especially Iwan.
Their mother died after a riding accident when Rowan was twelve, something which led her to become somewhat of a recluse for months. She had always been adventurous, spending as much of her time outside as possible, but after her mother’s death she barely left her room – terrified that if she did, she would share her mother’s fate. Luckily, her brothers managed to convince her otherwise by practically dragging her out of her room and forcing her to spend a night outside with them to prove there was nothing to be afraid of.
As soon as she reached marriageable age her father started looking for a suitable husband, although his own pride often meant such men were few and far between. There were only two men whom her father had seriously considered. Rowan quickly decided she didn’t like either of them, and so when they were staying at the d’Auber estate, she and Ciaran made it their mission to put the two suitors completely off the idea. Lord Ector was furious that she should be so stubborn – and selfish for not putting the needs of her family and name before herself – but he died shortly after so Rowan was never bothered with any more talk of marriage.
With both of her parents dead, Rowan became even more dependent on her brothers – particularly Kay who was now in charge of the estate. Despite knowing her feelings about marriage, Kay tried to make it quite clear that should she leave it too long before finding herself someone to marry, he’d do it for her. Rowan promised that she would try and behave more like a lady and start ending more social functions in order to find someone – although she did have her fingers crossed at the time. She isn’t against marriage per say, but she’s far too stubborn to let her brother find someone for her, and her romantic nature is convinced when she marries it will be for love, rather than the improvement of her family. For the time being, she’s content to spend her days with Ciaran, trying to be as irresponsible as possible and enjoying life as much as she can.
