Guinevère was very excitable! In general, she would smile brightly and be excited to do just about anything asked of her! So it was no wonder that she was not even trying to hold back a smile as she walked past the personal guards of Prince Arthur, and walked into his hotel "room". She used the room loosely, as it was practically a house (thus the term penthouse she guessed). She knew better then to call out to tell him she was here. His guards would notify him and he would join has "as soon as he could". Depending on the royal, and their mood that could been right away for that she'd wait a bit first. She was banking on the fact that she were in Africa, and he had nothing else to do, in order for her wait time to be small.
Sitting the bags she carried down, she began laying out some 'working clothes' for him to choose from. The reminder of what she was about to do, and how they'd gotten here made her smile a little brighter. Months ago, for a reason unknown to her, the Prince decided that he would take it upon himself to go to Africa and work in their charities (their being the royal their, not her and him their), and be a public face to help them gain attention and needed funds. They had a small organization that worked to bring clean water, sustainable farming, houses, and schools to under developed areas. THIS had been her baby for YEARS now! When Guinevère took the reins of helping the program she had made sure that they helped keep the village cultures and values; while still bringing education. She had spent countless hours in unpaid overtime working on this out of love. It felt good to help people! To make changes in lives in ways that mattered!
SO, when the prince made his decision, she of course was voluntold (the royal way of politely asking) to go with him and help out. She would have came anyway, so the how she was asked didn't matter. She was thrilled to be here for some hands on helping! Gwen pulled out the boots she had bought for the Prince as well, setting them to the side for him to wear. She had jeans, cargo pants, and a wide range of t-shirts with the program's logo in it, in every color! She decided to ask him to wear the blue one first, as he would talk to the press on the way to the jeeps that would take them out to the villages--and damn did blue look good on him! Though she had a red one there too if he rather wear his family's colors. Honestly--there was little he could do to upset her today!
Oh . . . . hindsight is a funny thing!

Tag: Guinevère Note: Better layout coming soon! for the love OF CAMELOT Arthur doubted he would ever forget the face his father made when he told him he was going to build houses in Africa. Disbelief would perhaps best describe his initial reaction. It had taken some convincing, but Uther finally agreed that this would be a good public display of charity work from the royal Pendragon family. Most of Arthur's charity work was done more quietly, without the need for press or public awareness but this time, it was different. They were certainly working to promote the charity, that Guinevère -- Morgana's secretary and friend -- was very much involved in. Arthur hoped that offering aid, would continue to bring that awareness to an important cause. Little did the prince know what was truly in store for him.
After having met with a few political figures for a quick meeting, he was returning to his quarters -- temporary ones as they would soon be shifting to the villages. Arthur certainly had no idea what awaited once he arrived and he was both excited, as well as nervous -- though would never admit the latter. When he entered his room, he saw Guinevère setting out boots as he watched her for a brief moment before speaking. "Guinevère," he greeted, taking the few steps to approach her. "What's all this?" He further asked, referring to the shoes, clothes, and such. Truth be told, he didn't know Guinevère well at all. He of course knew her and Morgana were very close friends, but circumstances didn't really have them spend time together. Until now. What he heard from Morgana and Merlin though, as well as from what he saw . . . she seemed like a rather kind woman. After all, she had been the one to kick start this entire initiative.

"Guinevère" Guinevère looked up with a bright smile, and then bowed her head as he walked closer. "Your Grace," she said in a return greeting, before standing back tall. Or well, as tall as one could around him. He towered over her. Most men did. "What's all this?" The clothes! Yes, she looked down at them for a moment before looking back to the Prince. "Complements of Lady Morgana," (who thankfully paid for it while Gwen had thought of it, and then shopped for it). She began, her happy feeling in her tone. While her voice was formal most of the time, it was easy to see she was ready to do this. "They are working clothes, that will help protect you from the heat, the dirt, and they have the logo of your family's charity."
Gwen held up the shoes as if to say surprise! before sitting them down. "I corresponded with your staff for the correct sized, so everything should fit perfectly." Reaching for the blue shirt, she held it up to show the logo (and sneakily / silently hint he should wear this one. "I though it would be great for public relations, and to bring attention to the work you're doing--" we're doing "--if the press saw you wearing the logo as we depart." Especially the blue, because his following of girls on-line loved him in blue. It was the eyes. They made his eyes go crazy. "Is there anything else you need before we leave the city, Sire? There is will be no cell service, or amenities--" running water, toilets, electricity "--so if you require anything, I have just enough time to get it before we leave." Or well, to send for it.

Tag: Guinevère Note: Better layout coming soon! for the love OF CAMELOT Arthur looking over the various items as Guinevère explained that it was from Morgana. Ah yes. That made more sense then. Though, it seemed Guinevère knew more of them and their purpose. He looked at her as she continued to explain the thought put into it; working clothes to accommodate the conditions they would be put under, a logo to represent his family's charities, proper sizing . . . "Seems that Morgana really has thought of everything," he commented. Though, he wondered if it was more Guinevère who had thought of these things and perhaps there was a hint of knowing that it was in his tone of voice.
She after all had more experience with this work than Morgana did. He moved to take the shirt she held up, looking over it as he decided to go with her non verbal suggestion. "Excellent thinking, Guinevère," he complimented with a nod, smiling at her. "It's good that you're here," he added on. "You seem far more familiar with all this than anyone else," he added on, before proceeding to the bathroom, closing the door but not pushing it completely shut so that he could change into the other shirt.
"No cell service or amenities," he repeated, processing this information. He had been told of such things but now realizing the magnitude of it . . . made him more hesitant. He now knew why his father was reluctant -- to say the least. This wasn't exactly safe. "Bug spray," he stated as he emerged from behind the bathroom door back into the main room. "I need bug spray. The last thing I want is to catch a disease from some insect bite out there." He had taken the necessary precautions, but still. "Is there really no cell service at all?" He asked, in slight disbelief . . . a hint of dissatisfaction in his tone.

"Excellent thinking, Guinevère," She smiled a little brighter at the complement, "Thank you, your grace." It was nice to near she'd done well. She worked hard and it was nice that other's acknowledged it. He picked the blue shirt, and she mentally high fived herself--until he went to change. Her eyes widened slightly, and she stood there not sure if she should leave. She had talked to Morgana while she was in dressing rooms, but Arthur was a PRINCE and a MAN. Did she leave? Did she stay? It's not like she could see him, but talking to the prince while he was naked wasn't allowed--was it? OH GOSH . . . He was naked.
He walked back out wearing the close and she smiled at him, though her eyes might have been a bit wider as she was a bit unsure what to do with her eyes, or hands, or body. At least he was dressed! "Bug spray," What? "I need bug spray. The last thing I want is to catch a disease from some insect bite out there." It was so random that she laughed slightly, missing part of what he said next. "--no cell service at all?" Oh green goblins! She'd just laughed at the prince! She had been feeling unsure, and then he said something funny and she laughed at him. Only he wasn't trying to be funny.
"Forgive me, my lord!" She spoke up, "I wasn't laughing at you." Well, "Not AT you, but at . . . . you." Nope! "Your words that is. They caught me off guard! I apologize!" Stop talking, Gwen! "Yes, there is no cell service. Chances are, sire, there will be no where to charge them either. I am leaving mine in the hotel safe." AND as for the other. Gwen took a breath to make sure she wouldn't laugh again, "I will make sure you have the pray packed. Though you thankfully do not have to worry about the disease. You had your shots." He was the prince of a first world nation. Surely he'd gotten shots for vaccines. Hadn't he??? "Yes?" She asked hesitantly.

Tag: Guinevère Note: Better layout coming soon! for the love OF CAMELOT Arthur glanced at Gwen when she laughed at him, but then his gaze held when she seemed to realize what she had done, and attempted to back track a little. Laughing at him but not at him . . . Arthur just stared at her, deciding whether it was best to let her finish, or to interject. "There's a difference?" He asked with a slightly raised eyebrow, though she quickly added an apology and that was enough for Arthur to let it go. Not that he was offended. He found it rather amusing that she seemed to feel so guilty over such a thing. Though he grew distracted over her saying that she was leaving her phone here.
"I'll take a spare one just in case." He just . . . felt the need to have one. So that he didn't feel completely isolated from the rest of the world. "I did," he confirmed. "But I'm still wary of whatever bugs are out there in such . . . conditions." After all, one could never be too careful. Looking at the boots and clothes that were out he looked back at Guinevère. "Is there anything else I need to bring Guinevère?" He asked her, making sure he wasn't forgetting something. Part of him wanted to also ask if he should be mindful of anything but if he asked that, it may seem like he wasn't confident about what he was about to go into. Even though he wasn't entirely, he had to at least appear to be so. Such as the expectation of a Prince.

Could her face get any redder? She was really hoping her dark complexion hint the blush that was taking over her cheeks, and ears. The Prince was going to think he is going into the middle of no where with an idiot. When he spoke, she wished the floor would open up and let her fall in. Nice, Gwen. Really great! It was bad enough when she did this with friends, but he was the PRINCE of a WHOLE country! . . . . AND not even a little unknown one! A bigger one!
Knowing she had to shake it off, in order to keep things going, she took a deep breath, and smiled again--fake it until you make it. Though, with her naturally bright outlook, smiling and being happy wasn't hard. "Is there anything else I need to bring Guinevère?" the Prince asked, and Guinevère shook her head without saying anything. She wasn't taking that risk! Not yet, not until she could do it without rambling. Knowing she was packed, her pack given to the driver already, and the only thing they had to do was head out, Guinevère could rest easy with whatever this schedule demanded of them now.
"We are ready on your command, my lord." She said, planning to ask for the spray while he spoke with the press so not to waste his time. "Have you had your bags sent down, or shall I ask someone to do it?"

Tag: Guinevère Note: Better layout coming soon! for the love OF CAMELOT Arthur nodded at her response. It seemed that everything was set. And that they were ready to go. Taking a deep breath he walked towards the door, waiting for her to join him. "Have someone send them down," he told her. That that when he remembered what else was waiting for them downstairs.
"There's a bloody mob of press down there," he said with a bit of irritation. An idea dawned on him as he smiled, looking at Guinevère. "How do you feel about talking in front of a camera?" He asked, opening the door for them and waiting for her to step through. "You after all, are a leading front in this project." While Arthur was able to talk with ease to the press, it would be good for them to hear from the other person involved in it as well. And now was her chance to share her knowledge of it with others, where it counted. For publicity and to spread the awareness.
