A rthur wasn't sure how he had ended up on a hunting trip with only Gwaine . . . but alas, here they were. With the added responsibility in the kingdom . . . Arthur as acting king, and Gwaine as a knight, he had to admit that it was nice to get away for a bit. Clad in hunting attire so that would leave them unrecognized as they neared a small village. Arthur was currently tying up his horse as he looked at the tavern. "I can't believe I let you talk me into this," he told him. Going to a tavern with Gwaine was . . . dangerous, to say the least.

He had met the man in a tavern, and he knew the mischief that befell him. Despite the fact that he was now a knight of Camelot, with their current attire, they were just Arthur and Gwaine, and Arthur had a feeling his brother of heart was certainly going to use that. "Two drinks, and that's it," he warned him. Though even as Arthur said the words, he didn't believe he would be able to limit Gwaine's drinks.

Gwaine wasn’t sure how he ended up on a hunting trip with only Arthur... but he supposed stranger things has happened. He’d be the first to admit his fondness for Camelot’s future king hadn’t started off on the right foot, but Arthur had proved himself in ways other nobles has not. Arthur was different. 

“Only six drinks, I promise,” Gwaine swore, speaking at the exact same time Arthur had limited them to two. A smile flicked across his face as he finished tying his own horse and heaved a heavy slap to Arthur’s shoulder. “Losing all your money gambling doesn’t hurt as bad when you’re drunk,” he explained.

Arthur gave Gwaine a look when he agreed to six drinks. This wasn't a good idea at all. "I get the feeling I'm going to be dragging you back to Camelot unconscious." Drunk and passed out from too much drink. It was not a pleasant thought for the king . . .but not an unexpected one. Arthur knew what he was about to get into, at least partly.

Once they tied their horses, they made their way toward the tavern, Arthur giving a slight shake of his head at his brothers remark of losing money. "As long as its your money." And not Arthur's. Though truth be told . . . Arthur might be tempted to partake. "Just, be mindful Gwaine. Lets try not to get in any brawls this time." Though in his warning, he couldn't help the slight smirk . . . knowing of Gwaines nature. Either way, Arthur was glad to spend this time with him

"You speak as though trouble follows me!" Gwaine countered with a grin as he opened the door to the tavern, inviting Arthur to take a look. The inside was a noisy and bustling mess of drunkards and cheaters and thieves. Tables flipped and fists flew as a full on brawl was already in progress. Gwaine furrowed his brow in momentary confusion. Maybe trouble really ^did follow him? His brown eyes shot back to his incognito King as if to plead his case that this absolutely was not planned, but there was a twinkle of mischief in that gaze as well. An almost visible vibration of excitement rumbled through his body as he unsheathed his sword.

"You know what they say, Sire... 'When in Rome,'!"
