::vaughn:: Vaughn felt her touch his armor, and though he was not looking at her, he could imagine her expression to go along with the tone of voice she was speaking in. He kept his eyes closed; a smile creeping onto his lips. He was actually very relaxed and could indeed fall asleep. Though, the idea of teasing her was far too tempting to allow sleep to consume him. Of course, he did not require that much rest. And he planned to stay here for as long as he could get away with, which would hopefully be for the majority of the night, or the remainder of it anyway.
He then squinted his eyes open, looking at her but not moving his position. He then winked at her, and closed his eyes once again. "Use your imagination." He said, continuing to speak in a flirtatious voice. "Since we all know you have such a creative one."

::vaughn:: Damn. She had known better that time. If Vaughn gave back the earrings, it would not be due to an act of kindness. It would be only if he got something better in return. "You would separate the set?" He asked, acting as if he was surprised by the very notion of doing that and insinuating that it would be better if she would give him the earrings rather than him returning the necklace to make the set whole again. Seeing her move onto her made him smirk as he had been planning to do the same thing. Then again, it would be more fun this way.
"Hmm. Now, to test the comfort of a noble woman's bed." He went over to the other side and lay down on his back. He was used to laying down with his swords still strapped to his back. It made his position no less comfortable, as it was a rather luxurious bed indeed. He closed his eyes. "If you do not say, or do something soon," The 'do something' part was indeed meant to sound suggestive. "Then I will without a doubt fall asleep." As always, it was up to her to entertain him as he lay on her bed, in her room, late at night. Was she used to this or was it considered scandalous to her? He guessed the latter.

::vaughn:: While Vaughn was never surprised by anything, he certainly did not expect a lot of things. Her continuous honesty was one of those things. Surely she knew what he was like at this point, and what he would do with that kind of information. "Interesting. What a sentimental, precious gift from your father." He said this with such false compassion and admiration. Seconds after, he pocketed the necklace. Now, really. Could she have not seen that coming? He had not decided if he would give it back. Probably not. He would keep it and just dangle it around her to boast that he had it.
Vaughn caught sight of at least one of the earrings from corner of his eye. "Where are those from?" He asked, in the same tone he asked about the necklace. Maybe he would take those too. Or just the necklace for stealing this much too quickly would be over kill and eliminate the thrill of taking one thing. He had barley made his way through her room. He was rather certain there was still a great deal to see.

::vaughn:: Oh how wonderful this was. He could over play his relationship with Alegra, just for her mothers benefit, get her hopes up and then shatter them completely. He was building this up indeed, to great heights and was not sure when he would finally admit that he is not interested in being a suitor, but he would enjoy this charade while it lasted. He also knew that it could not go on for too long. Her mother was probably looking for a suitor and would not wait forever for Vaughn to initiate a formal proposal. Not that he wanted her to. Just long enough to build the hope, and then destroy it.
"I am indeed honored then. My Lady Catherine, I will make my leave and enjoy the rest of the evening with your daughter." He had to put that bit in there, just so that Alegra knew he did plan to spend the rest of the evening with her, perhaps meet her brother in the process. "I am certain I will see you again. And perhaps, I can escort you and your family back to your estate. These are dangerous times. One can never be too careful as to what dangers can befall them during their travels." Really, he could not care less. He was just trying to 'do the honorable and respectful' thing. And be a little ironic since being in his company was not the exactly. the safest, most secure and assuring thing.

::vaughn:: This was absolutely preposterous! This thief was not going to have the last laugh. After everything that Vaughn was going through, he was surely going to make the fiend suffer as much as was humanly possible. He was losing sight of him. Once he was over the fence, he brushed himself off, walking as his eyes scanned the streets for the boy. He had to ask a few passerbys if they saw a short boy with darker skin. Some gave vague directions, others had no idea what he was talking about. However, still dressed as a knight he was given the expected respect. Not that Vaughn cared. But if it got people to talk, then why not use it to his advantage.
THERE! Vaughn caught sight of a short little mop of hair. It was him. He began to push through the crowd again, not even bothering to say excuse me, or move. He was just frantically shoving them out of his path, locking his eyes on the target and trying not to lose sight of him.....again.

::vaughn:: Vaughn watched the king dismount from his horse and prepare to defend himself while throwing out threats and promises that they would not get away with this. And that was when Alistair commented, making Vaughn chuckle at his words. This was wasting time though, and they had to get moving to a less public location. Soon, whatever knights survived, and Vaughn knew that the knights would be the ones who won in the small ambush since he had hired morons and amateurs, they would be frantically looking for their king.
"Calm down," Vaughn said to Uther, in an low, yet highly amused voice and he moved closer to him, pointing the tip of his sword towards him. "If we wanted to kill you, you would be dead by now. But we are not planning to. Right now, you are outnumbered and we have the upperhand here." He would over play Alistair's magical abilities if need be. The King hated magic, and he had already identified himself as a druid. "Now, remove your clothing." Yes, Vaughn had a reason for asking this and it was not for perverted intentions.

::vaughn:: Vaughn was not about to take orders from a servant boy. He did not do well to any form of authority or people ordering him around, commanding him, telling him what to do. It was not Vaughn being rebellious, it was merely the way he was and the way he had always been. That was why he left his estate in the first place. Because as a knight, he was 'obligated' to follow certain laws and suffer the penalties of breaking any of them. The idea of this was ridiculous.
Almost as ridiculous as a servant child telling him what to do; and threatening him with the help of his four legged army of horses. Vaughn's sinister laughter filled the air as the boy continued to attempt to warn him away. Vaughn twirled the sword in his hand, preparing to literally fight off any of the animals that charged towards him. "Tell me boy, what is more precious to you. One of your horses' leaving you, or one of your horses' leaving this world. At least with me, you would know he is alive." Vaughn was trying to determine just how precious the life of the horses were to him. Or perhaps it was the boy looking out for himself. That was definitely probable. After all, how could one share such a close relationship with an animal?
"Kill me know then. But if you see a horse's head, or hoof, or chunk of flesh, flying around during the commotion, then know that you are the one responsible for it, and it is only you who is to blame for it." He paused for a moment. "Either way, you will be punished by your superiors. It will either be for the disappearance of a horse, or the death or severe injury to one, possibly more than one, of the horses. Decide which one you would prefer."

::vaughn:: Alistair's mind was plotting something, and Vaughn loved it. If the two of them planned something, it would without a doubt be remembered for many, many years. Alistair had the brain, Vaughn lacked the morals. When someone combined the two, it spelled destruction. "Not well yet," he answered. Since the festival had not technically started yet, he was not formally introduced to anyone. But he planned to make himself known. First through casual, innocent means and then, with whatever way he found entertaining.
"I will make my formal arrival at the first ball, when all the nobles and royals are being introduced to the court." He had his seal, surprisingly not a fake one. Just an unfamiliar one which he could use to his utmost advantage. "What has gotten you all upset?" He asked, not out of concern for Alistair but more out of curiosity. The druid had feelings and emotions after all; who would have known.

::vaughn:: Vaughn looked at her as she held up the necklace to him. It looked like a rather expensive piece indeed. He chuckled at her comment. Not annoyed, not frustrated, by amused as he always was. "Are you selecting certain pieces for me, ones that will bring out the color in my eyes and the tone of my skin." While Vaughn did have a morbid and crude sense of humor, there were times when he could make more innocent jokes, and this was one of them. Of course, the circumstances leading up to this situation were not that innocent.
"Where is it from?" He asked casually, taking the necklace from her as he inspecting the jewels in it. He had been around enough gold and jewels to know the authenticity of it and just how valuable it was. The chain itself was worth quite a bit. "And are you going to show me the earrings as well. I must decide for myself whether they will be a suitable set." He diverted his attention to this necklace for now, and would wait to hear the history of it before he turned his attention back to rummaging through her belongings.

::vaughn:: Her first comment led him to believe that she was bitter about something. That would not be a first. Many people were bitter towards the king and royal army of Camelot. Those with magic anyway. Hmm. Did she possess some sort of magical ability then? Or if she did not, then continuing to listen to her also suggested that her family may have been wrongly accused for they would not be the first in that case either. Was Vaughn sympathetic to this? Not at all. He was not the compassionate type who would offer words of consolation or give condolence over her loss. He truly could not care less for he had shown his own disregard for his family in the past, so even if they were murdered in front of him, he would just stand and possibly laugh.
"Bitterness does not suit such a gorgeous woman," he said, chuckling a bit despite her revelation of the what had clearly been a traumatic experience for her. "Now why would they kill your family in such a way? Would it be perhaps because you were all practitioners of magic. Or maybe you broke the law in some other way," he suggested, trying to determine if she had magic in her or whether she was just even more bitter because they did not and were wrongly killed. "You seem to be a frequent target for violent attacks. It is a wonder you've survived this long." He said teasingly, as he believed there was some truth to his words.
There was hardly anything that surprised Vaughn in life. Now that did not mean that he expected everything for her next actions were in fact rather unexpected by him. Not in a bad way of course. How would a kiss from a random woman ever be an unpleasant surprise? Of course, it did mean that she perhaps did not regard him as a threat which was a bit disappointing to Vaughn...but if he could his way in another manner, then it would be worth it. He gave half a smile, a smirk still evident on his face. He kept his eyes locked on her while he felt her trace the armor he wore. "What if I were to say that I was here to kidnap you." He was not, obviously. But he was just entertaining the idea. Though he had kidnapped those in the past, she was not a target. He leaned in a bit, as if about to kiss her, but paused when they were barley an inch apart. "You seem to be in odd comforts with a man you do not know."

::vaughn:: "Kill you?" Vaughn ignored everything she had said and focused on these two words. He then laughed, aware that he had to keep the volume of his voice at a minimal. "You think I am going to kill you?" He said, chuckling at this, as if it was the most obsurd idea he had ever heard. In actuality, it was not that odd for anyone who knew of his lack of morals and care for others would know his desire to kill someone would be a legitimate fear. But in this case, he had no intention of killing her.
"My dear Lady, what would ever give you the impression that I would want to kill you," he asked, a bit sarcastically for he did know the answer to that question. "Where would the fun in that be." He would not get to harrass her anymore. That would be a great loss for him indeed. "I would much rather do something that would cause you to deaden inside, not physically kill you." He then pretended as if he was in deep contemplation, when it was already at the front of his mind of how to do this. "For instance, killing your father. Though that would not be much of a challenge, especially since he is on his way to death already." Meaning, he was not well, and he was old and Vaughn did not care enough to kill him. So he just continued to list suggestions, well, one certain person.
Alistair." He was not going to do this either, but rather, entertain the idea. "Now that would be far more interesting to see than simply killing you." Back on the subject of the druid, not that they had strayed far from it. "Unless you plan on killing him already." He was not sure how deep their relationship ran, well at least on her part for in his opinion, Alistair was too far gone. That was only according to Vaughn and he only believed this because of the way he had softened up and warned him not to take any of her personal things. Unfortunately for him and Isadora, he had something very personal of hers still tucked in his pocket, and was waiting for the perfect time to reveal it.

::vaughn:: Vaughn was rather pleased to have gotten his invitation. That was what he had been fishing for, and now he had it. "That would be a great honor to see. I am certain the pictures will not have done you justice but seeing as how I was not fortunate to have been in your presence then, they will have to suffice." He was enjoying this too much. And he noticed Alegra's silence. Of course, she was doing what was expected of her; remaining polite, courteous, prim and proper. What an oddity. It was as odd for her to be so quiet as it was for him to be so kind.
"So will you and your family be remaining in Camelot for the entire duration of the festival?" It was five days, and with them here, it would be a very interesting five days. "If you are staying, I would like to ask your permission to escort your daughter to the royal ball which is to take place the day after tomorrow." Why was he not asking Alegra? Because he wanted to portray the image of a more respectful individual. After asking for that permission, he turned to Alegra. "That is, if my Lady would allow me to." How would she react in the company of her mother right now, and with perhaps a few other people glancing there way? Vaughn had to restrain yet again, from laughing.

::vaughn:: It seemed to be more common for women to act more bold and aggressive, rather than timid and shy. Vaughn did not know what to make of this, other than to find it oddly amusing. When she casually changed the subject away from her parents, Vaughn was not so quick to let it go. Was it because he was compassionate? No. It was all curiosity. "How were they murdered?" He asked, his voice completely emotionless and a bit mono tone. "It must have been rather traumatic if it forced you to live in the woods for your entire life." He was not concerned for her, nor did he feel sympathetic. He was merely trying to draw more information about the subject. After all, dead parents seemed to be a sore spot for most. And if it was not, it was interesting to see how people reacted to such a subject.
Cain. From looking like a Vladimir to looking like a Cain. Where did these people come up with these names from? "You can call me whatever you like," he said in a suggestive and flirtatious way before putting his, or her rather, dagger back in his pocket. "And why did he do that?" He asked referring to why the dog had killed the other. "I suppose you have tried dog meat after all," he said, implying that that was why they probably killed the animal; for food.
And the she asked him a question. One he was not about to answer. "I can tell you what kept me in the forest," he began to tell her. "I saw a rather alluring woman bathing in the stream and felt the necessity to converse with her." Obviously, he was referring to her. Otherwise, he really had no purpose for being in the woods other than continuing his endless and purposeless journey of life.

::vaughn:: Bloody Hell! The first thing Vaughn was going to do when he got his hands on this boy was chop his legs off. He was making him run far too much, but Vaughn being the stubborn man he was was not going to give up. He was not as agile as this boy and found himself pushing things out of the way instead of crawling under or over them. The table that he crawled under, Vaughn pushed it out of his way, knocking all of the things to the ground. He was then held back by the shop keeper who was yelling angrily at him. Good lord! Not only was the thief getting away, but he was making Vaughn deal with yelling people. Instead of apologizing or saying anything, Vaughn punched the man in the face and continued to run after the pick pocketer. He managed to just catch a glimpse of him climbing over into a woman's yard. How did he know the owner was a woman? Because he heard a high pitch shrill of a scream.
Damn boy!
Vaughn followed. He managed to climb over but jumping down from the wall, he nearly killed a chicken. The other chickens now saw him as a threat. A couple of them charged towards him, pecking at his feet while the others were in a complete commotion, running around frantically in his path. Vaughn was trying to kick them off of him, and kick them out of his way, but it was a lot more difficult than he initially thought it would be. On top of the squaking chickens, the woman was yelling and screaming, taking her broom and hitting Vaughn with it.
Damn woman!
She was slowing him down, but he kept pushing forward. He felt as if he was in some sort of bizarre circus, and he had just about enough. Finally, he stopped and turned to the woman. He grabbed her broom, snapped it in half, and began to beat away the chickens with it that were flocking about in front of him. It was working, but he soon heard the sobbing of the woman. Good lord! Now she was crying. She was not only crying, but she was screeching for back up. As if the chickens had not been enough. Vaughn managed to cross the yard, but he knew that the boy had a very good head start. He would not totally be discouraged. He would find this thief and teach him a lesson. If only he was had not been slowed down by the idiots, and animals, that occupying this city, then he would have been right on the boy's trail.
[[ HAHA Good point. Well you wrote it in such a way that I got the perfect mental image of Tam's expression. ]]

::vaughn:: She was getting bolder and bolder. And Vaughn was growing amused at this unexpected retaliation that she was taking. "Yes," he said in response to her first question. "All men are asses, but not all readily admit it." He had no problem admitting such a thing, for he did not try to impress others nor did he value the opinion of people he would probably never see again. He did not even care what Alistair though to him; if he did, he would not be in his lovers bedroom tonight. If only he would be able to see the expression on the druid's face when she told him of this, assuming she would. He hoped the man would be overcome with rage, and he did hope it caused some tension between the obscure couple.
He chuckled when she threw out an insult regarding his hair. "I did not think you were so shallow My Lady," he said still chuckling a little. "If you are going to criticize me, may as well do so regarding something deeper, such as my personality." Was he offended? Not at all. He was absolutely amused by this entire thing! "Unless course you can not think of anything wrong with it because you see it as flawless," he suggested smirking.

::vaughn:: blockquote]Vaughn began to ignore her again, thus ignoring her question. He was distracted by having granted himself access to her room. He did however catch the last part of what she said, and looked at her. "What would ever make you think I would so such a thing?" He asked in an overly exaggerated shocked voice. Was he planning on doing that? No. If she had not been with him, then maybe. But the fact that she would be here, would make it seem less like a violation if he did indeed plan on stealing her undergarments and things. But, her presence changed that. Though that did not mean it would be any less fun.
He went towards her dresser and began to sift through her jewelry and things. He was not going to pocket any; why would we? The thrill of stealing was to walk away with something that he could later tell the person about stealing. If she was here, watching him, where was the fun in robbing her of anything? "A very quaint room indeed," he said, through he was still rummaging through her things. And it was only because he was nosy, and hoped to find something interesting. [/blockquote]

::vaughn:: Vaughn had been walking alongside the boy, noticing his silence. It was rather encouraging and he planned to continue his mockery and discussion of awkward and inappropriate things. But he would do so when they were in a less populated area. He did not want the guards to get the wrong idea, for Vaughn had to be back in the castle tonight. When they got to a clearing, Vaughn watched the boy begin to prepare the horses. The knight was about to say something but then suddenly, something rather unexpected occurred.
With no warning or evident cause, the horses began to get excited; and not in a good way. They were kicking their hooves in the air and displaying clear signs of hostility. Vaughn certainly did not suspect the boy could have done such a thing, though the timid, shy child did not seem startled by the sudden bizarre behavior. While Vaughn was not afraid, he was no fool. He knew that one strong blow from a horse's hoof could break your skull. In one swift motion, he pulled out his two swords that had been strapped to his back, and held them in a defensive position. He smiled, sinisterly and look carefully at the animals. "I guess we will be having horse meat tonight." If these horses were going to try to kill him, he would not go down without killing a few himself.

::vaughn:: This man had chosen to use the word 'friends' very interestingly. Either he heard them and made a clear assumption, or his strange visions had shown him who Vaughn was conversing with for the time being. "It is not I who will be dying today," he pointed out with a sinister smile. And then, the bandits came out. As expected, they were angry for not having find something grander at the end of the maze. They questioned Vaughn's reason for not having killed the man but did not care enough to wait for an answer.
Then, all attention was on Alistair. Well, Vaughn was still looking back and forth between the two. He was interested in how this was going to play out, and so decided to be a bystander rather than an instigater and strike the first blow. The 'leader' of the bandits demanded that Alistair empty his pockets and anything else that held potentially valuable things, and then of course, demanded its possession. Vaughn then turned to Alistair as tense silence filled the air. Did the man know how to fight? He looked fairly well built, but this could be deceiving so Vaughn just waited to see his reaction and whether he complied with the demands made upon him.

::vaughn:: Her mother indeed for she seemed to enjoy being showered with compliments about her and her daughter. And she had no reason not to enjoy it. She was even encouraging them; Alegra was a clear sign of extreme pride and that was why Vaughn had decided to use her to gain the favor of her mother. Vaughn chuckled but this time his small laughter was more out of politeness than sheer cynical amusement. Her mother had made a bit of a joke and just as Alegra was acting appropriately, he was also required to do so. "Well whether it is from her mother or father, it is beautiful. You must show me portraits sometime of when you were a young daughter in the Silvertongue family. I would really enjoy comparing two very ravishing women." Now, he was working on getting an invitation to her house from her mother since the first time he went, he had gone uninvited.
"Really?" Vaughn asked in mock shock when her mother spoke about how Alegra was not more content with anyone else. "I am honored. But I am undeserving of her affection; any man would be. I feel it is luck, and fate that brought us together and why change this if a man is truly destined to be with a woman that fate has chosen." He took Alegra's hand and gently kissed the top of it again, smiling 'affectionately' at her before looking at her mother, still giving that charming smile that was no more than an act.

::vaughn:: Vaughn did not feel that sense of obligation to justify his actions or personality to her. "I never said it was redeeming. I merely stated that I am honest and open." He smiled while saying this, not that he stopped smiling at any point during their conversation. "Besides, it should have taught you that you should not be running through the woods. Alone and vulnerable." Of course he understood her circumstances, as they had been the ones to kidnap her in the first place, more specifically Alistair, but he was mocking her, targeting her helplessness and basically saying, not in so many words, that she had it coming with her attempt to escape. Had Alistair not warned her that there were other people involved in this ransom? Out of the very few things he said, that should have been one of them.
"I suppose you were not interested in much talking with him," he said, suggestively, assuming she knew what he meant. "It says nothing about me. It only says that you enjoy a more, wooded setting." He was not going to take her criticisms to heart, just as she was not taking his. "My Lady, you are those things and so much more. Have you not thought of the good of your kingdom? How will they react to a pregnant future Queen, with no husband, and no stable family life." He paused, shaking his head in a false demonstration of massive disapproval. He did not care about her kingdom, but the question was, did she. "I did not know royals had the liberty to sleep with whoever they wanted, without thinking of the consequences of their actions. Seems rather selfish ad irresponsible."
