::vaughn:: "Perhaps. But how will you know if you never look? You may just find a bone of is. Or even his head." Now there was an interesting thought. "Then you will never forget while he looks like. Even if it is a skeleton, the bone structure will be there." He thought that was comical; maybe he would get her a skeleton head one day and see if she could tell the difference. He would have continued his morbid comments but then the subject of her bedroom came up. He smiled. Smirked. Grinned devilishly. Whichever words were chosen to describe the smile, it was one that should be expected of Vaughn when such a subject was raised, to those who had engaged in a conversation with him for more than 10 minutes.
He did not ask her permission. He said nothing, he just opened the door and walked right inside. What would be in here now? Something worth taking? No. He could get whatever he wanted, though there would be something rewarding from stealing a personal belonging of hers. Then again, that personal belonging did not have to be gold or jewels. He was in her room. A place which was a reflection of who she was. This was going to be interesting, and very fun for the knight.

::vaughn:: Vaughn really had no idea that his belongings were about to be stolen. He had not heard the thief approach for he had been too distracted by the fight and the high level of noise helped her be more sneak than Vaughn would have liked. It was not until the bucket unexpectedly fell that Vaughn quickly looked to the side. He was soaking wet, his bracelets were gone, and now the thief was running. While Vaughn did like the two leather items, he was not as desperate to catch the thief to retrieve them. It was more about the principle of the matter and Vaughn was not about let that boy get away with it. He was small, fast, and able to weave quickly through the crowds. Vaughn was taller, larger with all his armor, and had two swords protruding from his back.
This was going to be difficult. But not impossible.
He began to run through the crowds pushing people out of the way, some of them being caught off balance and falling over. He did not cry thief so that others could help stop the boy. No. He was going to catch him all on his own, and possibly, kill him. Vaughn was not able to run as fast as he wanted, it was more like a slow motion jog because every time he tried to move faster, he was caught behind a cart or someone who moved horribly slow. That was it! He pulled out his sword and cut the rope on one of the carts that was holding a collection of barrels. The barrels went tumbling down and he used this diversion to try and get a bit ahead so that he could catch the little sneak being!
[[ Haha. Your post was funny because for some reason, I pictured Tam being like a deer caught in headlights when she knocked over the bucket. ]]

::vaughn:: Vaughn knew that the men would be coming soon. They could not be heard now, but when their voices filled the air, it would only be a matter of seconds until they charged from the maze, finding the only outlet for their anger. And yet, Vaughn could not let this go. He was trusting his gut; something he did often, but in this case, it could be a matter of life and death. For the man. And maybe for Vaughn himself if this stranger was telling the truth.
"Give me one good reason to believe you." He was curious. Was this man truly insane? Or was he just trying to warn the knight? If everyone knew the moment they were going to die, they would live their life differently. Vaughn was not sure he would; he felt he was the exception to that belief. And while he did not fear death, what if he had found a way to cheat death. Yes! That would be life's greatest challenge and greatest accomplishment. And in order to do that, he would need more information from his stranger.

::vaughn:: Vaughn let out a bit of a snicker. "Not necessarily," Vaughn corrected when she suggested that he would be in a better position if alive. "If he did run away, he would have no honor, no courage; his reputation would be forever damaged and he would lose any respect that he has ever gained. Your family name would be tarnished. He would be best left in a secluded area so that others could redeem from his cowardly actions." Vaughn paused in a false pensive moment. "On second thought, that is not a bad thing at all. It would give a new reputation to the Silvertongue name."
The very wealthy, very powerful Silvertongue name. Vaughn almost wanted to try and discover the mystery of her father's disappearance. He traveled the ends of the world so maybe he could try. But only if he found himself extremely bored, and it certainly would not be a favor to her. "The wolf possibility sounds likely. Very excruciating indeed. Maybe you will find a hand, leg or foot lying somewhere near the battle ground." What a funny thought. "Have you ever gone to look?"

::vaughn:: Her reaction was great. It forced laughter out of Vaughn, but he ensured the volume of it was low, so it ended up being deep, demonstrating more amusement than just a mere chuckle. He had not expected her to accept her offer, and he would not do anything, forceful. The fact that others think he would though, gave him that control of uncertainty as to what to expect from him. In this case, he had not done otherwise to prove that he was not that sort of man. Nor would he do anything to show that he had any redeeming qualities what so ever.
"You act as if I am so vile; I am very upfront. I unleashed a pack of hungry men on you, but I did so openly. And yet, you condone a man who seduced you in the woods." Now, he was talking about Alistair. "Unless you are a woman easily infatuated, I must wonder what he had possibly said or done to you to make you so willing and eager to engage in such intimacy with him. You know nothing about him and could not have known a great deal in a matter of days." Now, Vaughn was just acting like he knew something massively significant about Alistair, when in reality, he did not. He just thought it impossible to fully know a person in a matter of days, and was using this belief to fuel his words.
"Besides, the man barley says more than three words at a time." Now, he was mocking Alistair. But he really was a man of lesser words. He was not saying this because he was remotely jealous by the relationship they shared. He was saying this to try and impersonalize her relationship with him. He hoped Alistair got slapped for this. He deserved it after letting his emotions cloud his judgment. "I pity the citizens of Gwent who must be under the authority of such a naive, weak, easily seduced Queen."

::vaughn:: To see Alegra's mother beam was far too amusing to Vaughn. But he held back this amusement for it would be too random if he were to express it, as there would be no apparent reason for it. It was just so funny to see such a genuine reaction to him, and then a very fake reaction, but at the same time, both reactions were practically identical. "It did not take me long to find your daughter, for her beauty stands out in a room crowded with people who do not even remotely compare."
To flatter a parent, was to compliment their children. Usually, the child was their source of pride and joy and as her mother already had notions of him being a suitor for her, why not play up this role as much as he could. He looked at Alegra, acting as if he was lost in her beauty, his mind wandering in helpless romance; when in reality, he was just focusing on holding back his laughter. After a moments pause, he turned back to her mother.
"Of course, you are to credit for that beauty for it is clear to see where she has gotten it from." Now once one complimented the child, on to the parent. This was far too simple, and yet so complex at the same time. Bottom line, was that it was highly entertaining. "I am having a wonderful time indeed. Are you?" He acted as if he had legitimate concern for whether her mother was enjoying herself or not, when in reality, he could not care less. He was selfish enough to only make sure he was having fun, and he was. So very much.

::vaughn:: Vaughn chuckled again when he noticed the boys face turn completely red. How funny. Not only was he, inexperienced with such things, he was also why about them. This was what encouraged Vaughn to keep talking about them, even if the boy tried to evade the subject and divert the conversation. It was one of the many reasons the knight had deemed a reputation of being rather intolerable; because of the fact that he just kept provoking people, even when they already broke.
"The tavern owners would you let you in. You would be with me, which means that you will be granted with access. I am sure one of the women has a daughter or something; someone closer to your liking." Yes, he was now talking about whores. While Vaughn never paid for that sort of service, the mere subject of it seemed to make Neav uncomfortable. He walked along side the child as he led the horses into the city. "And if you are worried about your over temperamental boss there, do not fear. I will speak to him." At first Vaughn had been joking about this whole thing, but now, he was acting as if the plan was really going to go through.

::vaughn:: Vaughn showed absolutely no sympathy when she explained the absence of her father. Whether she was showing it or not, his disappearance surely affected her. If she was as close to her family as he assumed, hearing her speak and defend them, then her father would be no exception. Had he had any ounce of compassion, he would have paid his respects, stated his condolences, and changed the subject. But unfortunately, Vaughn was not that kind of man. He decided to remain on the subject, and talk about it as much as he could. If she reacted, then he had been able to break her; if she did not then it would only encourage him to keep going.
"Perhaps hen was burned to death, so only his ashes would remain." Vaughn spoke this and the statements to come in a completely emotionless tone. In fact, the only emotion evident in them was amusement as he was mocking her father's disappearance and absence from the rest of the bodies, finding it almost comical. "Or he got eaten by some sort of strange creature that I am sure would have surrounded some of the corpses." That was a humorous though. "Or he ran away, like a coward. And had not gathered himself to show his shamed face. Maybe he is out in the world, living in a cave." Vaughn chuckled at this thought.

::vaughn:: While she was still not owning up to the lies, she was accepting the fact that the rumors could indeed massively negatively effect her reputation. After all, she was the sole heir, expected to be queen after her father died, which by the looks of it would not be too long now. Part of him was still trying to get her to admit that the words he spoke were the truth. At least he was managing to get one thing out of her at a time. He was rather pleased with himself; blackmailing royals and nobles seemed to become a specialty of his since Isadora would not be the first he has blackmailed.
But accepting that money would be sufficient and move on was not at all fun. He wanted her to feel somewhat helpless. Though she did seem stronger than most; she was not caving him, begging him not to stay a word. She was staying cold and strong. Interesting. Something that her and the druid had in common. "Maybe it will take nothing. Maybe I will spread such rumors just to tarnish the Caerleon name. To see your family's reputation tainted in the books of history, giving you all a scandalous image." Would that mean anything to her? "Or maybe," he looked at her intently, a sinister smile forming on his lips. "The question should be how much you are willing to do to silence me." His tone and expression when saying that should express what he was suggesting, and it definitely was not money.

::vaughn:: Vaughn was still in Camelot. This city was constantly proving to hold many interests for Vaughn so he was not quite ready to leave yet. After all, a man with no destination or purpose in life, was in no rush to be anywhere. So why not take his time in this particular city. It was the middle of the afternoon and the streets were packed with people rushing about. The market place was at its peak of business at this time and so the large crowds made it difficult to walk without bumping into everyone. Even more so for Vaughn since he had his swords strapped to his back, as he never put them anywhere else.
He finally made his way to the well. There was a bit of a lineup, so he would have to do the only logical thing; eliminate those ahead of him. There were only two people; two men. Vaughn moved to the side when the one directly in front of him was not looking, and shoved the man in front of that one. The man, angrily turned around and accused the clueless stranger of starting a fight. Well, that solved that problem for not both men were at each others throats and no longer a problem for the nomadic knight.
He proudly stepped ahead and began to lower the bucket, looking around as crowd began to form around the two fighting men. Vaughn could care less. He just grinned proudly; enjoying the trail of chaos he left behind him. He took the bucket and placed it on the ledge. Before he dipped his hands in it, he removed two thick leather strap bracelets; wearing one on each wrist. The material was indeed expensive and there were small bits of silver and gold placed in it, making a very intricate design. It would be worth a pretty penny. He placed them on the side of the ledge near him, the crowd getting larger and larger. He dipped his hands in the bucket and began to splash some water on his face before taking a few sips. His head was half cocked to the side, trying to watch the fight unfold, which meant that his bracelets were left there, exposed in plain sight.

::vaughn:: Vaughn was still not going to let it go. He was absolutely determined. This was not the last she was going to hear of it either. Before, Alistair had been the one preventing Vaughn from doing or saying anything to her. But now, he was locked up. It was a little contradicting; Vaughn being here to try and draw information from her regarding the fate of the druid, yet he also took advantage of the fact that he was in fact locked up. Oh well. There was only so much Alistair could protect her. He was imprisoned now; the guards would recognize him as a threat. How much could he possibly skulk around Gwent?
"It is not a matter of what I believe My Lady. It is a matter of what I know." He did know. He knew because contrary to popular belief, he was not an idiot. He continued to ignore her denial, a bit disappointed that she had not reacted more to the thought of potentially being pregnant. Or the fact that he had basically called her promiscuous. No matter. He would keep going and going, to see how far he could go in this conversation. "And it matters what other people believe. What I will tell them." That was threat, and a statement for he was planning to start spreading rumors about her. Why? Because it was fun. He only had one thing personal against her and that was that she was turning his partner in crime into a softy. Still, he was not the overly vindictive type. He caused havoc in other people's lives because it was fun and amusing; it could very well be considered a hobby of his.

::vaughn:: Vaughn was not so ready to change the subject. That was part of the reason he was here in the first place; to boast a little about how much he knew. Her reaction was surprising cool and calm. Perhaps she was not letting on that it was true, because Vaughn knew it was and his stubborn ways would disallow his mind to be remotely changed about such a thing. He grinned. Still leaning against the door, no matter how much he wanted to step towards her, to try and make her feel uncomfortable all over again. Perhaps he could achieve it with words though.
As board as she was, Vaughn did not find this the least bit dull. In fact, he practically ignored every word of denial she had spoke and instead, asked one question. He did not know if she would answer it, but it was not meant to be rhetorical. It was presenting a scenario that she surely must have thought of after it happened. Surely, she could not be that irresponsible. "And what happens if you are pregnant?" His expression still wreaked of amusement and humor, at thinking of such a thing, and asking such a thing.

::vaughn:: Vaughn smirked. "Do not play innocent My Lady. You lost your innocence that night in the woods." Vaughn was not about to let this subject off easy. He was going to enjoy teasing both her and Alistair about it, having plans to spread rumors and very specific ones that yes, involved him. Even though he had nothing to do with her and the druid's relationship. Then again, maybe he could over state his role; it would not be the first time he did so. "You do know that if it were not for me, perhaps you never would have met Alistair and found, what, love?"
He chuckled, finding the entire notion ridiculous. Was it love that they felt. Vaughn had already seen a chance in his partner in crime when he refused to raid the princess' bedroom. He was trying to be honorable. Noble. Vaughn just thought he was an idiot. "Or maybe it was the night where he saved you from the evil clutches of those men. You felt you owed him something, and so paid your debt in the only way a woman such as yourself knows how." He was insulting her of course; calling her a bit promiscuous without using that exact word. "Why else would a woman bed a man who was kidnapping her in the middle of the woods."

::vaughn:: Not many had. And this was how he managed to sneak in the castle, and be inconspicuous, drawing only the right amount of attention to himself. Too much would cause suspicion. Too little would make him blend into the background and therefore, prevent him from meeting the many nobles and royals. "No apology is necessary, My Lady," he told her as sincerely as he could. He did not often give his full name out and therefore, did not have to deal with people expressing their curiousity as to where he was really from. Her voice did not sound suspicious however and this was something that encouraged him to go on about it.
"My estate resides beyond Albion, and is not a popular place for those in this country, or kingdom even, to visit." Was his family's estate still existent? Did they still have control over their land? These were questions that would perhaps never be answered for Vaughn had no intention of returning to find out. He did not care enough to do so. If he had any concern for them, he would not have left when they were in the middle of war. "It is no great loss though as the beauty of Camelot certainly out does the beauty of my land." Compliments. That was what any person of nobility or royalty enjoyed hearing. The best way to suck up to a person was to compliment their home, and for the women, their appearance. That was the beginning. Then eventually one had to find more creative ways to gaining the favor of others. Vaughn was still in the preliminary process.

::vaughn:: Oh dear god. Vaughn did not even know what to say to this mans lecture and rant. He let him say everything he needed to say; allowing him to get out of his system. While Vaughn was a man of action more than words, he seemed to be the opposite. He seemed to enjoy talking; enjoy justifying his argument. Vaughn on the other hand, rarely cared enough to try to convince someone to see his point of view. Though Vaughn did chuckle at the thought of peasants, and how miserable some of them made their lives out to be. It was rather funny. Vaughn enjoyed tormenting such people of a low status. They were easily provoked as all you had to do was remind them of how little they had and that was enough to set them off.
Vaughn wondered if this man knew what he had meant when he said that no one had a choice. Apparently, he had not been specific enough. "I need no justification for my actions," he said, jumping ahead to another point of the conversation as he was not planning to react to every remark that Lancelot made. "I have no shame in saying that I do put myself above all others. Everyone does or they should, and yet are too cowardly to admit it. I embrace it and do not let the actions or words of another dictate how I should continue to live my life." Unlike those who, at the end of the day, were forced to comply by a higher authority's demands.
It was not something meant to sound rebellious. Vaughn did not see himself as a rebel. He was practical. He saw these things as simple concepts learned from experience. "Do not presume to know me," he added, still smirking though he meant his words. "In doing so, you have made yourself look like a fool." This word seemed to be a rather frequent one in their conversation; even if it was just mildly insulting. "You talk more than you act. Anyone can see that," he said mockingly. "Do you talk this much when you are drunk? If not, then allow me to get you some more ale." He held up his mug for the bar maid to come and set another one down.

::vaughn:: Alistair was quiet. Big surprise there. Vaughn continued to walk down the hallway, already setting his sights on where they would go next. While he walked he would open random doors and peek inside, not going in any of them but rather, looking for a particular one. And then he found it. He looked at Alistair with a massive grin and entered the room. It was the King's chambers. With all the gold and valuables that had been in the Princess' room, he could only imagine what was in the kings. Of course, it could not be more entertaining that her under garments for Vaughn certainly did not want to be in possession of the kings under garments.
He stood there, trying to figure out where to start. May as well start on one side of the room, and that side just so happened to be his bed side table. Probably nothing interesting in there, but there was no harm in looking and snooping around.

::vaughn:: Vaughn looked at her for a few moments, silence filling the already deadly quiet air. And then, he started laughing. It was a low, deep laughter but a little more amused than a chuckle. Oh how she entertained him so very much. He had encountered such bold women before but there was certainly something different about this one. He was intrigued and was not about to part himself from her company, yet. "I must say My Lady, that you do look rather ravishing when you are angry." He was still throwing out flirtations, having no shame, and practically ignoring everything she had just said to him. Though at least he still spoke to her with the appropriate title. Yet, he was not ashamed or bashful enough to be more subtle in his flirtatious words.
Weak. Was she calling Vaughn weak? Vaughn believed any emotion to be considered weak, whether it was anger, happiness, compassion, sympathy, anything like that. "Anger can also be regarded as a weakness My Lady," he said still smiling, referring to her current state of her be offended by his words. It did not phase him in the least bit, but he did enjoy provoking people and finding out what pushed their buttons. Sire and Please. This woman seemed to endlessly make him laugh. This time, he constrained it a bit better, only smiling, demonstrating his amusement. "What if I happen to come across a beautiful noble woman who I feel compelled to give a gift to?" He was just trying to be charming, trying to see how much of it she could take.

::vaughn:: Vaughn went silent for a moment, pretending to be contemplating deeply about something when really, he was just building the moment and acting overly dramatic. To him, death was not a big deal, but to others, it was their greatest fear. If one did not fear death, then there was nothing else to fear in the world. This was Vaughn's mindset, and a philosophy that he had lived his life by. More so when he had left his family and wandered far from their land. "Dead at the age of 13; before you truly become a man."
Vaughn chuckled. "Tonight, before we execute our plan," He purposely used the word 'execute' as a reminder for Neav's risky future. "I will take you to a tavern and you can experience the pleasures of things that I am assuming you have not yet experienced, before you die." Alcohol and women. Why was Vaughn suggesting such a thing? Not because he cared about the boy but because a man without morals cared little about decency and what was appropriate for others.
He continued to watch Neav prepare the horses. He stayed in the same position, only making sure that that the stable boy did not leave his site. He was not about to let him get away from his evil clutches. He wanted to ensure that this plan went through. Not because Vaughn was in desperate, dire need of a horse; but because he did not exactly like it when things did not go his way or according to plan. It meant that he was losing control over a situation and when he set something up like this, he made it go his way, holding and maintaining that authority over a person.

::vaughn:: Her comment at being bitter did not surprise him at all. He had expected nothing else really, but he chuckled in amusement anyway. "No harm was done. Besides, I did not give them permission to kill you so you would have survived." Vaughn had the authority over them. Why? Because they were morons. Because he had 'hired' them, promising to pay them for their efforts with the silent decision that he would just get rid of them once he collected the ransom. The only thing he was annoyed by, was the fact that he had to go back out and find more men after Alistair basically killed all of them.
"Though I suppose your anger is justified, since it was clear you were saving your virtue for another man to take." He was obviously referring to her little, intimacy with the druid in the woods. Alistair did not have to say the exact words for Vaughn to know. He was going to play up the fact that she had been so intimate with a druid. With her kidnapper. With Vaughn's partner in crime. He was never going to let this go, and see just how much he could benefit from it.

::vaughn:: Vaughn quickly began to head to the meeting stop where Alistair was expected to lure the King of Camelot. If this plan worked, they would have a great deal of power in their hands. They could ask for anything and everything, and the royal family would have to grant it to them for the King would be at their mercy. Having this kind of control was more valuable to Vaughn than the actual money itself. Money was money. It came, and was spent. This kind of power, would last for quite sometime and would not doubt remain in the kings memory.
He rode on his horse, getting to the designated area. It was a very narrow path, only wide enough for one horse to get through. Since Alistair was in front of the king, leading him, Vaughn rode up behind Uther so that he was trapped. "The King of Camelot, nearly alone and vulnerable." Vaughn smirked, looking at the king, waiting for him to turn around. He was dressed in knightly attire but not the same kind as Alistair. Not the kind that would be easily recognized. Little did he know just how deceived he was by the very man who led him away from danger, only to knowingly lead him into a greater one.
