Her eyes looked as though she had been crying, Lucan could see that with the very little light that was in the dungeon. Caitrin's answer to his question was very much one that he expected. Then again he didn't think that he would see her here - why on earth was she in the dungeons anyway? He would have to ask her the same as she'd already equired after him.
"Could be worse, you might have not seen my head again" he chuckled darkly, "but apart from being used as a tackle dummy I'm perfectly fine...much to the disgust of Morgana" Even though she stated that she didn't to kill him, it was clear enough that she did secretly.
“What are you doing here?”
"I could ask you the same thing" He replied, "I don't run from the enemy Cait, I stand against them" that summed up her question really, "Of course Morgana's already tried to break me and failed. She's going through us all one by one, but no one will accept her of course..." He paused, "Ok, now your turn - How did you manage to get caught up in all of this?" He wondered where Griff was - hopefully as far from Camelot as possible right now.
He shuffled closer to the bars now, so he could see Caitrin more clearly than before. He wondered what he looked like to her. Luc was sure that had this been a different situation, she would have gladly gloated about it. The Knight of Camelot who now had been resorted to looking like a beggar. If only Camila could see him now. He worried for her safety and would give anything to see her smile at him again. Everytime he closed his eyes he saw her. She was the first thing he thought about before waking up and going to sleep, and if Morgana got to her and hurt her, then he wouldn't be able to live.
"Look at me" he scoffed in disgust at himself, "Knight of Camelot" he felt like no Knight. He felt like a weak man who had been fighting for something that seemed so far out of his and anyones reach.

“He-hello?”
He was currently laying on the floor staring up at the ceiling. He'd given up actually trying to think of ways out. He and Leon had tried to think earlier, but with the guards around it was hard to plot against the enemy. Lucan felt useless, he just hoped that Arthur was out there somewhere thinking of ways to bring Morgana down. Everyone in the dungeon wanted her dead so should they happen to break out, then he knew they all had the same thing in mind as to what to do first.
That voice ... It jolted him from his thoughts, sounding very familar. He wasn't sure where he was just in some kind of hazy state from lack of water or whether it was actually real. In all honesty, it sounded a lot like Caitrin. Trust her to be giving him nightmares at a time like this...
“Is someone there?”
Oh no...
Lucan rolled onto his side and pushed himself up so he was now sitting, groaning as the pain shot through him. The bruises on his chest had started to form and were not looking nice. A couple of broken ribs seemed to be all it took for Morgana's men to make their deadly mark - then again, his head could be on the executioners block outside. He was beginning to realise that this was indeed real and Caitrin's voice was not a nightmare in his mind. She was in the dungeons. With them. Morgana had got to her too and that wasn't good.
"Lady Caitrin!" he called back low enough for her to hear and the guards to not. The cell opposite him looked like the one she was in, and now he could see her clearly against the bars. "Lady Caitrin are you alright?" She didn't look her best, but then again after seeing Morgana, nobody did. Now was the time to forget about stupid little arguments. They were in the same situation and it wasn't pretty.

Lucan had caught a few words that Camila was saying to her mother, before he and Aaron had walked in one of which was, "I can't believe this is happening." He smiled to himself, wondering how long she had actually been awaiting a proposal from a man and not just him. With Aaron around, it must have been a long time - it seemed that he was the only one trusted with Camila whereas others he had driven from Faintree. Lucan didn't believe that anything like this would actually fall into his life. He was always so wary of women, especially new ones. Camila had changed him for the better and in return he could offer her a chance. He didn't know how she would adjust to his life, the life of his family that had been lived for years - but this was Camila, and she seemed to be willing to take this chance. Not just because he was a future Duke, but because she actually loved him.
"Oh Eloise stop fussing" Aaron rolled his eyes, "I am sure that Camila can make her own choices" he glanced at his wife knowingly, Lucan seeing Camila hastily trying to re-adjust her dress so as he wouldn't see. He'd seen enough to know that he should be chivelrous and turn a blind eye. That he did. After all, things such as that were best left for when they were married. Maybe it was now his chance to actually say goodnight, he'd already been there far longer than anticipated. "Sir Aaron, I apologise but I think it's now time that I left, after all...I've taken up too much of your time and Camila's" he gave her a knowing look and turned back to Aaron.
"Nonsense my lord! You're more than welcome to stay longer" Aaron dismissed this.
"As much as I would like to, my duties to Camelot start early tomorrow morning, and I very much doubt that I would be of any use if I had my eyes closed" To his surprise Aaron actually gave a stiff chuckle at this. Genuine. He never thought he would see the day this man laughed, but apparently the thought had tickled him somewhat.
Aaron shook Lucan's hand firmly and bidded him goodnight, taking his wife's arm, he allowed Lucan to have some time alone to say goodbye to his fiance. The sound of the door closing signalled that both Lucan and Camila were alone again. He turned his glance from the door back to Cam and walked towards her, taking her hand and placing a kiss on the top as he usually did. "My lady..." his eyes glanced up to meet hers.

He was going to kill his little brother. One moment he was calling through the door, and the next he was practically inviting himself in. "Griff!" Lucan yelled as he looked up from his letters, "You don't just barge through someone's door if they want privacy! Can't you see that's what I need right now? and that means just me....Alone!" He emphasised. Seriously! Why couldn't Griff just leave him be?
"You're not busy, you're boring." Oh how mature.
"I couldn't give a rats tail what you think" Lucan retorted back, had Griff have been just as under pressure as he was right now, then he wouldn't have wanted Lucan barging into his room at a ridiculous hour.
"Stop that - look who's here!" Lucan looked to where Griff was now gesturing. Oh no - he'd brought company, and in the form of someone who never shut up. "Fun time now!" His brother seemed to think that this was a brilliant idea. Lucan begged to differ. He sat back in his chair and folded his arms.
"Gwaine?" he raised his eyebrows in suspicion, "Gwaine is my surprise?" Oh lord he hoped not. "Look guys, as much as I appreciate you two trying to drag me out somewhere, well I gather that's your plan because it always seems to be..." he narrowed his eyes at his brother, "...i'm sorry but i'm really just not in the mood - so have a nice time."

Ok. He didn't know how this was all going to turn out, but he knew that he would have to tell the Prince at some point, and now seemed like the right time - even if Lucan didn't know whether it was or not. He'd spent around 10 minutes staring at Arthur's chamber door, wondering whether he should knock or not. There were also moments where he'd gone to walk away, but had then changed his mind. Breathing would be a good start right now.
It had been hard enough actually breaking the news to Griff that he was getting married. His brother had taken it surprisingly well despite his own situation with Caitrin. Lucan had felt bad about that, then again he hadn't a clue as to whether Griff was returning to Camelot when he had proposed to Camila. His father had been over the moon, as expected, then again Lucan was expecting nothing more from the man. Even if he hadn't seen him years, he still knew that he should inform him, and since then his father had become quite a regular pen pal. In all truth, Lucan knew it was because there were matters of the estate to sort, as well as him suddenly becoming interested in his sons life because the word 'marriage' had suddenly come up. He knew it wouldn't last for long though.
Lucan knocked slowly on Arthur's door. Perhaps he wasn't even in there. Part of him didn't know what to say. He didn't even know why he was so cautious about telling Arthur. As well as being the Prince, he was his friend. He waited for a reply as to whether or not he could enter, the thoughts still buzzing in his head.

He was currently in the middle of, once again, writing letters to his father. He'd had to leave it until late into this evening as his duties once again came first. As long as he got all this stuff about the estate out of the way, then Allard would have nothing to worry about once he got there to keep things running - assuming that they were all well now.
Lucan was just glad that things in Camelot were fairly back to running order. From what he'd seen on the patrols he'd been making, people had put their lives back together or were still fairly in the process of regaining them. It was times like this that Lucan was grateful that Morgana hadn't gone too far as to destroy the whole city. Now they had new Knights and a whole new outlook.
He carried on writing, hoping that he could just fall into bed soon after and get some well deserved sleep. He dreaded to think how long into the night he would be up until when he finally inherited the estate. In all truth, he'd had nightmares of it. Speaking of nightmares, one - going by the name of Griff, was now hammering far too loudly on his door and breaking his concentration. What the hell did he want at this time?! If it was money then Luc would literally through him a purse and tell him to get lost. "Luc! Are you in there? I have a surprise for you! And you'll actually like it this time!"
Oh he very much doubted it. That was all he needed, his brother swinging in and springing something completly out of the question upon him. He already knew it would be something like that. This was his brother after all.
"Griff! I told you that I would be busy! Now stop banging on my door and go to a tavern or something!" He called back resting his head on his hand to try and concentrate more on what he was actually writing.

Lucan allowed Camila's arm to slip out of his, giving her wink before she escorted her mother into a nearby room. He then allowed Aaron to lead the way into a room where they could speak privately. It was, of course, about matters of their engagement and how long it would be until Lucan would finally marry Camila. He told Aaron that if things went smoothly, then it would not be long at all. Something that Aaron seemed rather pleased about.
The men decided to rejoin the women, Lucan once again allowing Aaron to lead the way. They both entered the room unnoticed, wathing Eloise fussing over Camila. Lucan couldn't help but smile a little. He was seeing some life in the woman at least - far from earlier when she looked tired and weary. Aaron looked to Lucan. "Hopefully this shall give my wife something to look forward to." he told him, "The incident at Camelot has tired her." Lucan nodded. "We've all been left with some kind of wound, lets just hope we can all now move on." He felt for Eloise, really he did.
Aaron nodded at this and then coughed rather loudly so as to signify that the pair were indeed present in the room.

Lucan was still in his position by the window when Allard came to find him again. "Are you alright?" he asked, not having seen his nephew made an appearance in the solar like he said that he would. Lucan looked up at his uncle. In all truth he felt sick to the stomach and didn't know why. Oh wait, yes he did....Camila was meeting his family (excluding his father and stepmother.) He knew this was a bad idea. Caitrin would be on top form with her comebacks and usual and then there was the case of his brother, who was most likely going to drink himself into oblivion at the prospect of being thrown into a room with his...fiance? Was she still that? Lucan didn't even know if the engagement between Griff and Cait had ever been broken off. Still, that thought was enough for him.
"In all truth? This is the only thing i've never been more scared about" He dreaded to think of his wedding day. He'd most likely faint before she even reached the alter! "I face things that I don't even give a second though about when I really should, yet it comes to something like this and i'm freaking out!"
Allard gave a small laugh, "Your mother was the same when she first had to allow our family to meet your fathers. Family is a delicate matter, especially when introducing someone new into it...just stay calm, be yourself - The Lady Camila is here now, so I suggest that you make yourself look decent and join us all in the solar. I shall go and tell her that you've been delayed slightly."
So Cait and Griff had arrived too? Well this was going to go well...he hoped..."Very well...thankyou Uncle" he smiled and watched as Allard once again exited the room. Running a hand through his hair, Lucan went to get changed into something more suited to his rank.
Allard headed downstairs and into the parlour where a servant had informed him that Lady Camila had been shown into. She was very beautiful indeed, his nephew hadn't been exhaggerating when describing her. Allard smiled and gave her a bow. "Lady Camila I presume? I am Lord Allard, Sir Lucan's Uncle" he introduced himself, "Unfortunatly my nephew has been slightly delayed, so may I escort you to the solar until he appears?" he asked.

Lucan decided it best not to mention Caitrin and his thoughts on the situation. His brother looked wounded by it all, and it was only now that Lucan was realising that Griff was starting to take his own life into his own hands. He could tell that Griff knew he'd made a big mistake about the whole thing, so he hoped for his brothers sake that things would sort themselves and that eventually he and Caitrin would be reconciled (however much he and the woman didn't get on he still cared for his broth's welfare.) He smiled weakly, "Everything will turn right, I know you inside out and it's not in your nature to just give up on something you truly care about...well, someone" he corrected himself.
"I'll have you stay here until you sort yourself out. Uncle won't mind, after all - although you may not technically be his nephew, he still sees you as one." There was no way he was allowing Griff to leave in the state that he was in. Lucan sat back in his chait and toyed with the contents of his own goblet, listening as Griff spoke about him being safe. "Hmmm" was all he could muster. The whole effect of the events that surrounded that awful time wouldn't fade, and would leave scars forever.
"What are you talking about? What's happened?"
He was going to have to tell him. He couldn't keep something like this from his brother even if he knew that recent circumstances had worn Griff down. He sighed and leant forward in his chair. He was going to just come out with it.
"I'm getting married"

"Well, your uncle should have told you to marry me earlier then." Wow! Camila was becoming far bolder by the moment, but that was why Lucan loved her. She was far different from any other Lady he met. He couldn't help but chuckle slightly at this. "Had situations beyond my control not risen, then I would have married you in a heartbeat" he looked down and smiled affectionatly at her.
"I don't really want you to open it, but I guess you can." Lucan laughed, "We have to open it and face them sometime Cam" As much as he didn't want to open it either, he knew that they'd spent longer than usual alone in one another's company. Aaron would become suspicious if they didn't show their faces soon, and Lucan didn't want his future father in law to lose his trust before he'd even married his daughter. He felt her arm thread through his and patted his slightly. "It'll be fine" he smiled and gave her a small kiss on her hair before opening the door to his future family. Eloise was looking rather nervous (the again she'd looked like that since Lucan first saw her bring Camila to him), however Sir Aaron had a knowing look on his expression, which only confirmed to Lucan that he hadn't needed to listen in to know what had gone on.
He gave a nod to Lucan as confirmation that he agreed and then finally spoke, turning his attentions to his daughter. "Camila, if I could prise Sir Lucan from you for a few minutes - there are matters that he and I need to speak of." he told her. "I won't keep him from you for too long."

“What ever happened in that year we were looking for her, something, or someone changed her” He heard Leon ask. Lucan wanted to know himself and didn't have any answers to this. He sat back against the wall to the side of the dungeon door, so he could see out should any guards happen to come for him again . Wincing slightly, he sat back against the wall and sighed. There was some damage there, that was for sure. "I have absolutely no idea..." he trailed off, "Do you think someone enchanted her?" he suggested, "I mean...before she disappeared she was pretty normal, she was the Morgana we knew. There was nothing about her that..." he paused again and gave another small sigh, "It just...it just doesn't make any sense..."
Alive? Yes but for how long? Lucan wasn't exactly looking forward to what Morgana had instore for them next. Knowing him, he'd be the first for the axe... "It wouldn't surprise me if they did though" he answered, "I mean...I practically was asking to be executed up there by the way that I was speaking to her - but of course she decided to inflict the worst kind of pain on me.." no, he didn't want to think about that. About what she could do to Camila because of him.
“Please you’re not the only one. I sure she has a nice block out there waiting for my head. She thought I would give up the moment I was dragged before her” He heard Leon say. Of course Leon wouldn't back down. He was just as determind as the rest of them. Lucan scoffed, "You? Give up? She's obviously forgotton how strong we are when it comes down to serving our king." Not a single one of these Knights down here would kneel to her. "Well, if you go for the chop, then i'll most certainly be coming with you. One thing's for sure, I'm not going down without a fight."
Was there a way out? Leon was determind to go along with this plan, and the mumbles from the others confirmed that everyone would be willing to do so too. The guards were now looking into Lucan's cell again. Obviously his little stunt earlier had made them all the more wary. Once they had walked past and had gone to resume their places, Lucan thought. There had to be a way out somewhere, the keys were on the guards belts...unreachable unless they killed the guards...which was impossible. "How can you kill an immortal army?" Lucan whispered, loud enough for Leon to hear him but low enough so that the guards couldn't.

“A very large haystack” He heard Leon reply. Lucan couldn't agree more, Camelot was an increadably large city and it would take a lot to actually scour the whole place, plus the countryside. He couldn't wait to get started. If Morgana was still in Camelot then he would make sure that he was present to bring her down. Lucan smirked at Leon's choice of words. "Im always up for a challenge...bring on the haystack and we may just find a rat instead of a needle" he looked at the second in command knowingly.
Leon was now asking after Cam. Lucan bit his lip. "I've already sent message to her father, who hopefully is still alive to have received it." Lucan's face darkend a little. "Morgana said she would bring Camila to Camelot...if she's hurt her then I want to be first in line to kill her should we ever find her." his voice was a growl now. He hated the woman for what she'd done, what she'd brought upon the people and city and what she had threatened. He prayed that Camila was alright, and that Morgana had just been calling his bluff.
He looked to Leon, hoping that he was indeed alright and that there was nothing serious. “No I am fine, nothing serious, the wounds of the body may heal but the metal wounds never do”. Lucan knew that all too well. There were things they had both seen that had never left them. You just had to carry on though regardless, it was the only way that you could strengthen. Through learning and overcoming any obstacles that stood in your way, and for the Knights of Camelot - there were many of those. "You are right there my friend" he nodded slowly.
Right, time to move down to the tunnels then. He nodded to Leon and led the way out. "Do you think that The King will recover?" he asked as they made their way down the steps and out into the courtyard.

"You're stuck with me, whether you, or your family, like it or not."He smirked at her, oh she was definatly going to be the one wearing the trousers in this marriage. Lucan could tell that even when he'd first met her. With one hand placed delicatly on her hip, he pulled her in close to him - giving her a gentle kiss on the lips. "Well once they meet you, they will defiantly know why I decided to make you the future Lady Aubert". And not forgetting the future Dutchess of Glouchedon. Wow! That sounded grand!
At least he could rely on Allard to keep a certain amount of control over the first meeting. His uncle didn't get out as much as he should and so therefore he would be very grateful of the company. "He's been waiting to meet you ever since I first spoke to him about you" Lucan admitted, "I think he picked up early that I wanted to marry you." His uncle could read him like a book, so Lucan couldn't exactly hide any feelings from him.
He was glad that she was determind to go through a meeting with his family. Then again this was Camila. She'd give Griff a run for his money in the comebacks department - that he was certain of. Lucan could still hear some movement from outside the door and turned to Camila. "I'm guessing that's either your mother waiting to come in, or your father waiting to speak with me." Or it could be both together? Lucan was unsure, but figured it could possibly be Lady Eloise waiting for the outcome of their meeting.
"Dare I open the door?" he said, walking towards it and looking back at Cam with a daring expression.

Lucan was up in the guest room getting ready for Camila to arrive. Today would be the day that she was finally going to meet his brother and Uncle...oh, and Cait. Of course his father had deicded not to make an apperance (however much he wanted to), as on his physicians orders he was not well enough to travel. In all fairness, Lucan would rather Camila meet his father when it was just the pair of them - at least he could have some control over the situation then. Plus, no arguments would break out...or so he hoped.
Lucan leant against the wall by the window and glance outside, hearing the door opened and Allard's voice follow it. "Well everything is ready for when Lady Camila arrives - but the question is are you?" he asked and walked further into the room. Lucan merely looked at his uncle and then back at the window again. "Trying my best" he replied, "Im more worried about Griff or Caitrin saying something. After all, our family isn't exactly the definition of perfection is it?" he looked to Allard
"No family is the definition of perfection, if Camila loves you enough then she will take us for who we are." "Oh I know that, but I just can't help but worry" Lucan sighed. Allard gave a small chuckle. "You? Worried? my goodness boy you're a Knight of Camelot! I've never seen you worry in your life. Besides, i'm sure had Amice been here today, she would have loved Camila - even though we haven't met her yet." Allard smiled, recalling the memory of his sister. Lucan gave a weak smile back to his uncle. "You think?"
"Oh I know" Allard replied and put a hand on his nephew's shoulder. "It's a shame your father couldn't make it though - do you think he will attend the wedding?"
"It doesn't look promising. Besides i'd rather him stay at home than risk his health to come here..."
Allard nodded, "Well I'm going to Glouchedon soon to take care of the Aubert Estate - as your father's health seems to be slipping and with you here in Camelot, it's only fair that I oversee things until he is fit enough to do so himself." He was going to Glouchedon? He hadn't been there since his mother died. For Allard, this was a giant step and even Lucan knew that. "Thankyou Uncle" he smiled, "I'm sure he'll appreciate it."
"Right" Allard said the headed for the door, "I'll be in the solar when you are ready, hopefully your brother and Lady Caitrin shall be here before Lady Camila." he said and left the room. Lucan resumed his position by the window, he should really be getting ready but right now he needed a few moments to himself before he could think about the afternoon that lay ahead of him.

Lucan took her arm and led her through and around the people, trying to avoid his sister in law from being knocked to her feet again. He was a little surprised when she apologised from Rouland's behaviour, but then again he hadn't expected anything else from the nobleman. "I was expecting it, after all - your uncle does enjoy entertainment that takes his fancy" he smirked, "and I guess a family bust up was certainly something to look forward too." All Luc had done was stand casually in the corner to allow the chaos to unfold.
He noticed Cait become a little flustered after he'd finished speaking about his true motives for the meeting. Giving her a small nod, he steered her slightly towards him so as a man with a cart didn't flatten her in the middle of the street. "He said something to that extent, although he's too proud to admit when he's wrong." Lucan could read his father better than anyone else, and he knew that Corneous hadn't expected Caitrin to be his brothers wife, but a giggling barmaid or peasant girl with no money. Lucan had to give his brother some credit though, when it came to women he always aimed high.
“I believe I have misjudged you.”
Lucan shook his head. "You were protecting my brother and so was I - we just happened to get off to the wrong start. I'd rather have you for a sister in law than anyone else though, at least you hold a good fight and believe me, we need that!" he paused, "So i believe that I have also misjudged you and for that im sorry." He grinned as Cait said that she was proud for her children to bear their family name. "Uncle Luc?" he scrunched up his nose a little at the name, "It will take some getting used to...although im afraid babysitting's out of the question" a smirk was thrown her way. "So i'll tell you now, i'll probably be terrible with babies."

Was that it? Around? Lucan rolled his eyes as his brother seemed to shrug the whole thing off altogether. "I was worried about you" he told him, "why the hell didn't you tell me what happened?" Ok he knew why, because Griff obviously thought that he'd give him some kind of lecture - but no, Lucan wouldn't have given him that even if he had wanted to. Lucan sighed, "I'm sorry to hear about you and Caitrin though - you actually seemed as though you had your life together". Even if him and Caitrin hadn't got along, Lucan still felt gutted that Griff had lost something that Lucan could see he felt strongly about - which is why he didn't want to answer Griff's next question.
"I.." he paused, wondering whether to tell Griff about Camila, and then shook his head. "Look enough of this, come and sit down with me in the solar and we can talk - you look like you need a good drink."
"You're not dead!" Lucan laughed at this, gesturing for Griff to follow him down the hallway, "Still living" he replied and opened the door to allow Griff to walk into the solar. Thankfully Lucan saw that Allard had vacated the room. "I was worried, what with Morgana and...everything...this isn't going terribly well, is it?"
He poured them both a glass of wine and passed one to Griff, "Im secretly thankful that you were not in Camelot to witness her...well I can't even refer to it as a 'reign'. I was locked up in the dungeons with the others. She tried to make me pledge allegiance to her, but I would've rather have been executed than bow down to her. I'm just glad that Arthur took back what was rightfully his..." He trailed off. Lucan hoped that Camelot would never have to go through that again.
"and anyway, in answer to your last queston - it's going far better than usual" he gave his brother a smirk and took a sip of his drink. "Im just glad your safe." He looked over to Griff and smirked, "and you shouldn't worry about me, Im still here and that's all that matters." Worry - he had enough of that with Camila without also having Griff be worrying for his welfare. Then again Griff was his brother (and the closest family he had) whilst Camila was his future wife. His father hadn't worried for him (then again Corneous never bothered with him for most of the time so Lucan had expected this) so to have people care about him was quite a blessing.

Lucan sat with his Uncle Allard in the solar. Nightfall was decending upon Camelot and he'd thought it a good idea to stay with Allard so as they could discuss many aspects of Lucan's life that would be changing. One of them being his upcoming wedding. Lucan had written to his father who had immediatly replied, saying that he wouldn't miss the affair for the world. Unfortunatly Elaine would be there but that didnt matter to Luc. He'd found out from Rouland that his brother had left Camelot after something involving both the words 'Caitrin' and 'Money'. Lucan had merely sighed with disapproval when he'd heard. Trust Griff, trust Griff to screw it all up when he had finally been going somewhere.
"You look like you need this, long day?" Allard asked, handing him a goblet - hopefully of something strong.
"Tiring" Lucan smiled and took a sip, "never the less im still in one piece"
Allard gave a small chuckle and drank from his own goblet. Lucan got up and walked to the window, "did you ever worry about not being able to fulfil your duties as a husband before you married Aunt Helena?" Lucan asked. Allard shifted slightly, he never really liked to speak of Helena since her death - but he could see that Lucan was now worrying more the closer it drew to his and Camila marrying. "All the time my boy, all the time..." Both of them were interrupted as one of the servants entered the room. "My Lord, Lord Griflet is in the parlour to see Sir Lucan."
Allard darted a look to Lucan who turned away from the window and looked at his uncle. He knew what Allard was thinking. "I know..." he sighed. "I didn't say anything" Allard looked at him blankly, "No, but I know you were going to". Lucan headed for the door and then out into the direction of the parlour. There he saw Griff standing quite awkwardly in the room waiting for him.
"Griff" a look of relief crossed his face, just because his brother had been an idiot, it didn't mean to say that Lucan hadn't been worried about him. "Where on earth have you been?".

Lucan smiled at Caitrin's reply, in all fairness she was quite a witty woman - he could see why Griff had married her. "I dread to think of the outcome that may have caused" he gave a small chuckle, "however entertaining it could have been." he gave her a knowing look that was the Aubert cheeky side of his nature coming through.
"Would youl like to walk with me a while? I know we haven't spoken since the little family reunion."
"Ah...yes..." he agreed and the nodded, "If you want to? but on the term that we will never breathe a word of that meeting again - quite frankly that's something I never want to witness again" he smiled and ran a hand through his hair, walking along next to her. "Anyway, I want you to know that the only reason that I wrote to my father to tell him of you and Griff wasn't because I thought you unsuitable for his choice of wife..." he began and looked to Caitrin.
"It was because I wanted him to see for himself just how much Griff had calmed down and had taken control of his life - he and my father have never seen eye to eye because he doesn't want his life to be as controlled as it was by our father" Lucan admitted, "I wanted our father to see that Griff had found his own way, and im pretty sure that by the end of the meeting he was certain that you have been a blessing, and not another inconveniance."
Ok so now he'd got that off his chest he looked to Caitrin. "I know that you probably think that the whole of what i've just said is a lot of rubbish, but it's true" he paused. "and although i've never said anything to you or Griff, I have accepted you into the family from the start - because I know that Griff couldn't aim any higher than you already are - and that's the truth, whether you choose to believe it or not." Lucan finished.

Lucan smiled gently, glad that he was actually helping her to heal in some way. He couldn't bear to imagine what it had been like for her, yes he had been through it himself but for Camila, a woman who had never hurt anyone she did not deserve it. He was a little surprised when she actually kissed him again, becoming a little braver and bolder in herself . "I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you." Lucan gave her a knowing look, "you won't be saying that when you meet my family"
He could just imagine the amount of carnage that Cait and Griff would cause. He wasn't even going to get started on his father and Elaine. Only Allard was the one who would be carrying the Aubert torch for what it was worth. Lucan gave a small smirk, "I want you to meet my Uncle Allard before my Father and brother - purely because my Uncle is the only sensible one out of the three of them." he told her, "Then if that all goes without a hitch, I want you to meet my father and brother." He dreaded having Corneous and Griff in the same room together again, he could sense another argument brewing already, and the pair didn't even know of his engagement.
"So i'll warn you now...the Auberts aren't exactly the closest of families, but I'm hoping to change that when I marry you, perhaps then my father and brother will actually last in the same room for five minutes without biting one another's heads off." he gave her a smirk, "Are you up for the challenge?"

Oh dear, she was crying again - he quickly managed to find something to dry her tears on in his pocket and passed it to her. "If you carry on crying you'll cause a flood" he chuckled and pulled her in close to him, kissing her gently, "I know - the thought of spending the rest of your life with me is an awful thought, but honestly im not that bad".
"you've just made me the happiest woman in the World even when only moments ago I felt so weak." he caressed her cheek softly with his thumb and shook his head at this. As if she was weak? She was the strongest woman he knew. "Don't say that, everyone's been shaken by what has happened. You just need time to heal."
There went the tears again. He smiled and shook his head at how emotional just four words could make her, on top of everything she'd been through. Lucan wanted to make her smile again, and he was glad that she could finally do so. He knew his father would agree of the match. He'd already written and asked Lucan when he was going to finally meet her. Hopefully Corneous would get along with Sir Aaron - they seemed both the types that were on the same wavelength.
He had no idea why on earth she chose to put up with him, but he was glad of that night at Morgana's return feast. It had brought them together, and had given him something that he'd never thought he'd ever have. "I love you more" he told her gently, "no matter where I am or how many times you say that..." he paused before beginning again...
"I will always love you more Camila."
