Clarissa’s family history starts with how her parents met. Robert Lockwood was a rebellious young lad who often went about pleasing the women of Willowshire to spit his rich parents. So it came as a shock to him one day that his parents had arranged for him to marry the woodcutter’s daughter, Minerva Thatcher. At first, he was none too pleased about that sorts, for how would he ever have fun in life again being tied down to a woman, but to please his parents, he did such. On the other side of the story, Minerva was none too happy about landing Robert Lockwood either, even if all of the other girls of Willowshire did envy him for one, he certainly did not have any money and seemed to have no drive to earn any. But married they did and no more than a year later, their child was born.| ~ • ~ | Character Basics | ~ • ~ |

.:Physical Appearance:. Within her town, Clarissa was always noted for her beauty especially by men, and she knows it. She stands tall for a girl of the time, with long and lanky limbs and a mild hour glass shape, but it’s rather subtle. Also, while she eats plenty, her color bone is often still promenade and seems to poke out through her skin although, that hardly bothers her. Due to her rambunctious ways as well as running outside a lot, Clarissa’s skin color is of a mild bronze. Her skin is flattered well by her hair, which is of a wild unrulely sort of mahogany hair with natural golden highlights that cascades down her backside. While it is usually down, she does pull it back in a pony tail when she has to so that it does not get in the way. Clarissa’s face is angular in shape with a hawkish nose. Her eyes are of a warm brown, like the fur of a rabbit. Her outfits usually consist of things for the outdoors, her favorite attire often been of tight fitting shirts that are cut low to show off her assets. Along with this, she also wears a finely made leather bodice that is accented with brass. Often rebelling at the idea of skirts, Clarissa’s outfits are often accompanied by reddish brown leather pants that hug to her skin tightly along with fine boots that reach her calves. Although, just because she choses pants over skirts does not mean that she does not accessorize with decorative belts, forearm guards, and rings. Also, her draw string hand as a protective glove around it and never is her belt seen without a lucky rabbit foot hanging off of it.

.:Personality:. Clarissa Lockwood is not the typical Willowshire girl. She is bold and outspoken, and hardly dainty with her words. She prefers to speak her mind rather than act coy and keep people in waiting. Despite this though, many people often could consider her charismatic and charming in a cunning way. She lights up the room often when it comes to people she knows, and with strangers, she tries very hard to put on a show. While it often seems that she does not have a head or a brain when she speaks, that is not true. In reality, Clarissa is quite shred, calculating, and intelligent and while sometimes ambiguous, her morality can be told of by those closest to her. But it often takes a person who is good at recognizing character to realize this or she will slip right under the radar and be mistaken for a silly girl with a big mouth. With being clever means that she is often good at getting herself out of situations, whether perilous or not, and due to this talent of hers, Clarissa can become quite arrogant and rather too sure about herself. Sometimes, she has these idea of how she thinks the world should be, but often does not share them with other people for fear that it can lead to dangers for her and even to her parents.
.:Strengths:.
Archery- What Clarissa lacks in swordplay, she most certainly makes up for it in her archery skills. It is the one practice that she had put a lot of thought and patience into (and keep in mind, this is something she often lacks) in order to hone her skills. While she is not the best in the lands, she can stand strong and tall and readily put her life on the line with her archery and often uses it in competitions to win prize money to be footed towards her ways of living.
Escaping- With all of the troubles that Clarissa gets herself in, she has to be clever in getting out of things if she gets caught. While talking her way out of trouble does not always work the best, she is quite good at physically getting herself out of tight places in which some others might have difficulty for everything comes with an adrenaline rush and sometimes, she does get desperate for she rather end up dead and dying heroic than find herself rotting away of boredom in a dungeon cell.
Acrobatics- Ever since she was a small child, Clarissa always had a nack for being wild and tie that into her being, well, rather flexiable girl, lead into a whole new world of discovery for her. Through her training, she managed to improve her balance, agility, and motor conditions. These skills of acrobatics for her helps her within the trees, but also breaking into some of the most guarded of castles whether it is walking herself across a balance beam, or chiming along a rope to the other side of a wall, or even allowing herself to glide down a drapery with nothing but dagger to help her, Clarissa could be said to have the moves of a cat.
.:Weaknesses:.
Gold- Like all people who are not royal, Clarissa has a terrible addiction to gold. Of course, while her intentions with it are always good, she finds herself drawn to it as a rabbit would a carrot. If she sees large masses of it, she becomes utterly determine to get it so that she can share it. After all, the rich could spare a few of their things, and since Clarissa can be so blinded by this reasoning of hers, it can leave her open to being blindsided without much thought.
Easy Opportunities- Sometimes, when things appear so easy to her (eg. A gold statue sitting in the middle of the forest), Clarissa forgets to often realize that it could very well be a very luring trap. Often, she falls for these things simply because of the jewels or gold within the trap, but of course, she manages to get herself out of it in one way or another. Her least favorite ones are when she finds herself hanging upside down all of the sudden by rope on a tree.
Her ideals- Clarissa has very strong ideas of what the rich are and how they so very few of them appear to hold all of Camelot’s wealth. Sometimes, she could be known to go into drunken rages about it, or even sober rages, they do get her in trouble, especially with those loyal to their masters. Of course, it was because of these ideas in her brain that turned to thievery and to strive for her legacy. Unless the people who are with her at the moment are poor, Clarissa proves to not be very popular especially in the cities.
Ale- Ah, who would not be a slave to the wonderful drink that is ale? Actually, any type of drink, Clarissa can be seen getting drunk off at the taverns and bars. Although, there are many times where she often thinks that she performs better when she’s drunk rather than sober, but honestly, that usually is not the case.
.:Magic Abilities:. Clarissa only has one magical ability, and she does not use it a lot at all, but it is but a simple magic spell that she mutters when in battle against great foes that she does not believe that she can take down without help. While her bow and arrow are drawn, she mutters some simple words of the old religion and the arrow with begin to glow, making it true and pure in flight and aim and can penetrate the thickest of armors. Of course though, as stated before, this is only used in life or death situations.
.:Special Skills:. Other than her strengths, Clarissa only has one other skill known of and that is just that she is a really good talker. She likes to talk people in loops and before they know it, they have made a deal which they are not entirely sure as to what it exactly is. Also, she is rather good at fooling people into thinking that she is not of intelligence and often just a girl who is not fully there half of the time that just likes to drink.
.:Accents:. Clarissa’s accent is certainly off landish, being a mixture of Scottish highlands and English middle class.| ~ • ~ | History | ~ • ~ |
.:Birthplace:. Willowshire, a small town out of Lyonesse
.:Family:.
Sir Robert Lockwood, 43, Knight of Lyonesse & Father of Clarissa
Minerva Lockwood, 38, house wife, temporary bar maiden & Mother of Clarissa
.:Occupation:. Princess of Thieves (self proclaimed/title, of course!)
.:Current Location of Residence:. Camelot woods for scouting purposes
.:History:.
Due to the fact that they actually had a child now, and how it came so quickly startled Robert greatly, and he ended up getting set up as a squire for one of the great knights of Lyonesse. The pay wage was little and his parents refused to help him out, stating he must figure out how to survive on his own, and Minerva was getting annoyed, and plus, it kept Robert away from the house and that was not what she wanted. By the age of two, Clarissa proved to be quite a hazard for her mother’s health, for that had been the discovery of walking on two feet for her, and she sought out trouble where ever it could be found, especially when it came to Mr. Brandybuck’s hutch rabbits which she set free on many occasions. By the age of six though, her father had finally surpassed his test into knighthood and became a full fledge knight of Lyonesse.
Of course, being a knight meant that he had to be on duty at all times even with the pay being considerably better. With Sir Lockwood being an excellent scout, King Olaf often send him on scouting missions in other lands, both in Albion and stretching beyond its territories into greater uncharted territories. This certainly put a strain on his marriage, but not with his relationship with his daughter, whom he had grown very fond of despite the fact that she was not a boy. Due to her ‘save the rabbits’ antics, he often told her stories of Frith, the supposed prince of rabbits and other such animal folklore that he had learned from his childhood.
As Clarissa grew older, many people thought she was turning into a beautiful young girl, but as well as a wild child. Often, Clarissa sought out beating boys at running races, and found that she was the bravest at climbing the tallest trees and of course, Sir Robert Lockwood encouraged this completely where as Minerva absolutely despise these actions. It was not until Clarissa, at the age of fourteen, ended up on the roof and did a black flip off of it into a hay pile did her mother completely lose it. Her mother had scowled her, telling her that silly acrobatics and beating boys were not very lady like things to do but Clarissa simply informed her that she did not wish to be a lady but a rabbit. Little to say, the stories of Frith and other such fabled animals were quickly banned from the house hold.
When she turned sixteen was when her mother started looking for presentable husbands for Clarissa, and unfortunately for her, her father was not there for this nonsense for he was out on another scouting mission. Day by day, she would argue with her mother but chaos explored when Clarissa was to be arraigned to marry the blacksmith’s son, a notable family that made a generous living in Willowshire. It was then when Clarissa stated that she did not want a husband and of course, Minerva would always fire back stating that a woman’s place was by a man’s side as well that this was the only way that she was going to have a good life and not one like Minerva had with Robert. These words angered Clarissa and she simply stated that she was not some fat cow to be sold and stormed out of the house and along the woods and came to the conclusion that she was just going to have to do something about.
In other words, make the blacksmith’s son wish he had never heard of Clarissa Lockwood.
And so she did, although, it did not take as much convincing as she thought, for unlike most men, the blacksmith’s son was of a rare breed who also cared about the woman’s feelings and not just his own. While sadden by what he must do, he broke off the engagement. Shocked by his nobility though, Clarissa did continue to speak to him and later set him up with one of her friends, a match that worked out very well in the end. Her mother was distraught by all of this of course, and by then, Sir Lockwood had come back. Deciding that his daughter needed an escape from the small town of Willowshire, and his wife, a much needed rest from their daughter, he took Clarissa for a journey. During their journey towards the castle, they passed along many of the villages that were filled with pheasants that could not afford anything, let alone the tax that they had to pay.
When she asked her father about these conditions, he simply stated that this was how every kingdom was ruled. When they made it into the heart of Lyonesse, it was there that Clarissa saw how the royals lived and saw how full of herself and spoiled Lady Vivian. Not only that but her ladies in waiting often spoke terribly about the pheasants, as well as other royal nobility. Clarissa could not help but to frown at these people, thinking it unfair that people with such rotten attitudes and dispositions should be the ones living on top with a high and mighty attitude while the rest of kingdom starved to death and could barely keep clean. In other words, it simply was not fair and as she rioted of these ideas to her father, he simply remained quiet and decided it was best to take her back home.
But forever would Clarissa be plagued by everything that she had seen and came to the conclusion that she was going to do something about it, plus, show her mother that she could make a living for herself. From that day on, she began to hone her skills in archery and made certain that her father taught her this. Not only this, but she also went off to the woods a lot to work more on running and training her body to get used to wild stunts. Every day that she came home, she would hide her bruises from her parents. Upon the age of nineteen, Clariss thought herself ready for any adventure so one day, she left the house and went to one of the woodland paths and hid in wait. As sure as luck would have it, a noble’s wagon came along the pathway and Clarissa attacked it but not one did she aim to shoot, only impair and also, the noble family was not on the wagon.
As she grabbed a trunk of gold and hauled it out of the wagon now, one of the guards dared to ask her of who she was, but of course, she did not answer him. In fact, Clarissa did not let anybody know who she was until she managed to take the trunk of gold to one of the poor villages near the kingdom’s castle did she let everybody know who she was: Clarissa Lockwood, Princess of Thieves self titled of course. And thus, she began to make this a living, stealing from the rich and dispersing it all over the kingdom, and of course, keeping some for herself because everybody needs drinking money. Her most notable steal to date is when she stole Lady Vivian’s crown. Of course, King Olaf was none to please to hear that one of his knight’s daughters was a renegade and quickly ordered of her capture.
Of course, this caused some distress for the Lockwoods and they told her that she had to leave, her mother not proud but her father was, but alas, they had to send their daughter on her way. She soon became known, at least in the kingdom of Lyonesse but she soon started spreading throughout Albion to avoid capture. Nowadays, Clarissa continues to ways of life by stealing from the rich and can always be found in taverns, drinking up their ale and singing of pirates and thieves.
