Arthur asked her how she felt, and she moved her eyes from where they rested on Amaren to look up into Arthur's blue ones. Her hand covered his own that rested over her belly that was large with his child. Not too large now, but enough that her balance was off. In a few months everything would be worse, and then shortly after she'd have another child. Another gift from him.
"This one will be another boy," She promised him, "For he has done nothing but kick me all day, and if he kicked me like this while outside of me I would have bruises everywhere!" She was joking of course, but the baby was rather active today. "They say boys are more active then girl, and I do think either of my other sons were this way." At least not with how this one was today.

Guinevère was humming softly when she heard Arthur walk in, and ask about how Amaren was doing. "Just like she father," She told him knowing Arthur would know she meant he was being stubborn. "Here," She lifted him up and turned so she could pass him to his father. "Hold your son, and tell him a story." Arthur's deeper and calm voice would sooth anyone into a good sleep.
Once Arthur took his son, Guinevère moved over to the changing screen and dawned a white nightgown, before returning to bed, and slipping under the blankets for warmth while waiting for Arthur to return. Her hands found her belly and she smiled down at it. If the war could end soon, all would be well. Guinevère wished to ask Arthur if he though the war could end soon, but nor did she want him thinking of it while here with her.

"Really?!" Thomas asked, as he climbed into his bed and stood on it. "When can I start learning? All the other boys cannot start until later! I can't wait to start! Can you tell me some rules now?! I promise I wont forget? Did you win your first joust?" Thomas began asking question after question, with no time for Arthur to answer them between.
While rest might have been what Arthur intended, the excitement gave Thomas a little extra energy. Guinevère could hear them from the other room, but only smiled to herself and shook her head slowly as she carried Amaren to her chambers and laid him on the bed, before joining him. Her feet grew tired easily and resting here helped get Amaren to sleep and her ankles feeling rested.
Amaren played with his hands in the air, seemingly slowing his moments but not falling asleep just yet.

Thomas reached his hands up to clap, so Guinevère followed suit when Arthur finished dressing Amaren for bed. "Very well done!" She cheered to follow in the moment. "Now, it is past everyone's bed times, so If you will be so kind as to force this one to bed--" She teased as she playfully pushed Thomas toward Arthur, "--I will begin with this one." Though she knew that Amaren would take longer to sleep.
She would help him begin to ease into sleep and when Arthur was done with Thomas he could hold his son and talk him into a slumber. Reaching out she took Amaren and lifted him into her arms. "Goodnight, Mama!" Thomas hold her with a hug, and then walked toward the door to await Arthur. "Soon night, Thomas, I love you." She called then looked down at her youngest (at least youngest for now).
Once she was alone in the room she smiled down at her baby. "You're making Papa very happy by being this agreeable. Keep it up." She teased, and began walking the floor and telling him the story of the sword in the stone.

Guinevère watched Arthur change their son, and she felt Thomas shift his weight. She wondered how he saw all this, and what he thought about when he laughed at Arthur's story. Children were supposed to be simpler to ready but she found it not so much. "When Thomas learned to run, he used to wait until I had him undressed before jumping up and running off." She told the boys in the room, to keep with the soft feeling.
"I would have to chase him down almost every night. I kept trying to get quick enough to keep him still, but . . . it took me a while to catch him." Thomas laughed and covered his face for a moment before looking at Arthur and Amaren. "Now I can catch him when he runs if you need me too Mama?" She kissed the top of his head, "You know, I just might."
Looking at Arthur over Thomas' head she smiled, and felt her eyes water just a little. Tonight was perfect. "Between you two boys--" Him and Arthur, "--surely one of you can can Amaren." She was speaking of a future. Their future. Their family.

Arthur teased Thomas about getting in practice and Guinevère felt her eyes lower, knowing that Thomas had already gained some practice. While Rosa came daily to help, she could not be here all the time, nor could she be over worked--Guinevère would never allow that. There had been one morning when she had been ill, and Rosa was gone to do a chore, and Amaren had awoken. "I already know how to dress him! I've done it before! He likes to fight you, but you can't be strong with him. Thomas explained.
That morning she had found Thomas with Amaren, with both brothers dressed and playing before the fire. It was hard to be a single mother, but she hoped the war would not last forever and that soon Arthur could be here. Not just to help, but to be apart of their lives. "You have to move with him, he might cry for a moment but he will stop when you pick him up." She explained. Her hand came up to touch Thomas' hair, and brush it back while they watched Arthur try.

Guinevère smiled at Arthur as she watched him begin readying their son for bed. "No, when I look at him with that hay, I see only his father." She teased, knowing that Arthur had his favored things as well. "Such as his father's sword that never leaves his side." The infamous sword that he had pulled from the stone years ago when Morgana had taken over the kingdom and his uncle's betrayal had become apparent.
"You cannot blame me for that." She teased again, then heard footsteps from Thomas hurrying to find them. When Thomas appeared in the doorway he hurried over. "Kings dress little boys?" He questioned and Guinevère moved beside him. "I think he is going to try. Should we warn him about Amaren's wiggling?" She asked and Thomas looked from his mother to Arthur, then back to his mother. "Nnnooo," he said in a tone clearly excited to watch Arthur try to change a wiggling baby.

"Not everything so good comes from me." Arthur seemed to see her too perfect sometimes, and she knew that he-above all others-knew how her mistakes were large and cost people dearly. She had lied about his son, and kept him apart of Amaren needlessly. Had she been honest, they could have done this together, and the months of fighting would have been avoided, for they were doing things his way in the end.
Not letting her thoughts take them to unhappy times she decided that there was another way to tease him, "I think he has a bit of your father in him too . . . " Looking from their son, up to Arthur her smile was soft and teasing. "He has to always have his way, or there is a fuss." She was teasing his father, even knowing that Uther was a hard topic for her--for him. Because despite every single thing that happened to harm his relationship with his father, Arthur loved him and honored his memory. " . . . Yet strong in his believes." While with Uther had had been good and bad, with Amaren it was more with his ideas that laying down for naps where just as bad as getting up from them.

Guinevère smiled as Arthur finally helped her, while his words should either be a tease or a complement. "You see these things and assume they are my fault, but I assure you there is more Pendragon in him then me." She teased, knowing there was a good blend but wanting to tease him in return as well as show him how like his son was to him.
"He challenges Thomas daily, with no though to his larger or strong foe. He is too brave for this mother's comfort, even while she find pride his action. He is loyal to a fault, and still had a strong dislike of Sir Flynt." Because Arthur never seemed to like the poor knight after her suggestion of wedding him should Amaren look like Arthur. She knew now--as she did then--that she could never teat a man that way.
"He also looks rather charming in red and gold." She teased, and her hand that was not on her belly, lifted to touch her son's jaw. "He is beginning to lose the babyness in his face." Looking more like his father, and they both would know what that mean. While Amaren would have her coloring, and curly hair, the shape of him would take on more like Arthur's. The jawline that was beginning to show from some angels, his noise, and the way his face was set. "Lets just hope he has your height." For knights seemed to like being tall.

Arthur moved over and teased her while placing a kiss on her belly. Her hand touched his hair as he did, letting her heart swell with pride, and love, and so many other emotions in this moment. He only pulled back when Amaren joined them. "I think you know full well that I am in need of aid to stand. Normally Rosa would be here, but . . . I gave her the night free." She they could be a family.
Amaren out his hands on his mother's shoulder and pushed to stand, while waving his straw sword everywhere. "You know, I could buy him every toy in the market and he might only hold it for a little while . . . but let him find something like straw, a rock, or even lately my shoes . . . and he will hold it and carry it proudly for far longer." Amaren swung the straw so hard once he lost his balance and tumbled sideways into his father. "You should ready him for bed." Another memory she wanted him to hold close.

Guinevère just waited there, fully planning to demand Arthur help her up so she did not have to crawl to the wall to borrow it's strength to stand. Thomas seemed to pout, but he also seemed to know better then to question something Arthur told him. "Can I come with you to the training field again tomorrow?" he asked as she backed away toward his door.
"I want to see if they got better over night!" Guinevère's hand moved to her belly as she waited for Thomas to exit the room, though when he did, he left hi door open so he could hear Arthur's answer if Arthur spoke up. Turning to look back at father and son, she watched Amaren keep playing. "I should ready Amaren too." But for that she need his aid to stand. "They both will find slumber the moment they stop moving long enough to close their eyes." For they'd played hard today.

Guinevère looked up in surprise when she heard Arthur's voice come in from her chambers. Thomas would be too young to fully understand what that meant, but Guinevère liked that Arthur was in her room. She had called it their bed before, and with how he used it more then his own, she thought it was a just title.
Both brothers hurried to him, and she tried to sit up, but the awkward shape of her growing belly made rolling over and balance odd. She ended up just falling back slowly, and resting on her elbows. "Arthur!" Thomas used his name since they were alone, something she knew he enjoyed doing because it made them feel close. "It's not a birthday gift, he cannot have them until tomorrow. He found that outside and cried when I tried to make him put it down. So Mama said to let him have it." Thomas was over explaining but Guinevère knew it was how children were.
When Arthur smiled at her, she felt her heart skip a beat at the sight of him surrounded by their children. Soon there would be another he could hold. Guinevère prayed he would be near for the birth, for it was something she wanted for him more then anything else. For him to have the first moments of this child's life, as he had wanted with Amaren. His words of wanting them, after first meeting his son, still came to her. She moved one hand to her belly and tried again to sit before just laying back down.
Amaren was swinging his strand of hay wildly, smacking Arthur with harmless swats while Thomas was speaking to him. "We are spending time before the fire, since a a cool night, can you stay? Please!?"

He was using his almost elopement as a reason to deny giving Anna a chance at love. she still wanted to know more about his relationship with Sophia, but she was not jealous nor hurt that he had once found a girl he wanted to marry. She had known there was others, but that his heart was her's. Just as her heart was his. The need for jealousy was void, for she had too much faith in their love to doubt.
"You need to have faith in Anna, husband, and trust her to know what she wants and whom she loves." This wasn't a sudden thing, but something that had built. "When we host feasts or balls, Anna and Merrickk tend to spend time together at them. They've picnicked in the garden, and try to find every reason they can to seek each other's company."
"This is not a sudden and unexplainable love but one that has grown over time. I think you owe it to Anna to at least speak to her and see where her heart is."

When Arthur entered though the servant's door in Guinevère's chambers, the room was empty. Yet voices could be heard from the main rooms. Laughter.
Her day had been spent looking forward to his visit tonight, and tomorrow. Everything she did, or thought had been of him and their family. Currently, she was lying before the fire--with no idea how she would get back to her feet, for her belly made the adventure of rising a complex one--while her two son's played.
Thomas was pretending to train Amaren, who had a long bit of straw and was swinging it wildly. "Amaren! Your footwork! You need to practice more!" Thomas said, though she had the feeling he was trying to think of things Arthur might have said and was only repeating them. "He will need time to learn to have better balance before he understand footwork." Guinevère playfully warned her son.
Thomas laughed, "When will he grow up and be fun to play with?" Which in turn made Guinevère laugh. "Babies take time. You used to be the same way, walking and falling." Thomas moved closer to his mother, before sitting down and watching his brother. "Someone has to teach him how to be man." Guinevère smiled softly at Thomas, reaching up to brush back his hair. "Your such a good brother to him, Thomas, never let anything change that."
She hoped that he knew how much she loved them both. "Why would anything change that? Is he going to mess up my toys? I will still love him even if he brake another one. Guinevère laughed softly, "Good. I fear as he learns to play he will brake a few more." She warned. "I am going to need better hiding places!" He counted, leaving her laughing.

Guinevère knew he had almost wed a few times, though she had always known he had not wished to many most of them. Vivian had been a spell, Elena-the closest call to him almost being married-had not been his own choice and Mithian . . . had not been love.
Yet with Sophia she wasn't sure what she had thought. "You loved her?" She asked, again not hurt but surprised by his words. She knew he'd never loved another, but he said he had thought himself in love. Why had he nor married her then? If he was in love, and willing to elope, why did he not wed her? "What happened?" What changed his mind? How had he known it wasn't love but . . . . lust? Youthful need? Friendship? "I am surprised she left." After gaining the (almost) heart of a prince. "Where is she now?"

Guinevère knew he had asked her questions and was making a point, but some of his words cleared her mind of all else for a moment. "When I was only a couple of years older than Anna, I had thought I was in love." She had thought he meant with her, knowing they had fallen in love when he was just a few years older then Anna. "I nearly eloped with her." Again, she might have thought it was her, but there was something in her tone that gave her pause.
Because he would not be using her as a reason why Anna could not wed Merrickk. Arthur and Guinevère's almost elopement, had ended when Uther had her arrested claiming she was using magic on his son. Not: "Had Merlin not come to stop me, I would have destroyed my future." There had been a another. She knew that he had once asked permission to wed, but had never really given thought to how serious it had been, if that was even the girl they were speaking of.
"You . . . . You almost wed another?" She asked, not really in a hurt tone, but more one of surprise. She had faith in their love, and knew that in the past he had many girls in which he'd spent time with but she had not known he had almost ran off with one.

She was glad that Arthur and her were of the same mind when it came to what or which fights that Amaren, a child of six years now, would be allowed to see. The ones were no blood was shed and he could watch with adventure and not fear. Even when her and Arthur disagreed they agreed on their children. How odd that two people from two worlds could have their hearts and minds so much as one.
"I will let you be the one to tell him then," She told her husband, "I think he will be too excited to sleep for days." She wondered how Arthur had felt with his first one, watching his own father fight and win. At least this time Morgana would not be here to play both men against each other. "Shall I send invitations to our friends and ask they help spread the word in their kingdoms?" So everyone would have time to ready for the upcoming events.

"Anna is too young. It is nothing but infatuation." Too young? "And what were we, Arthur? I was a but a year older then her, when a prince kissed me and told he that he'd never loved another." She was trying to make her point by reminding him about what they had. Besides, he had said she would explain to him why he should allow this.
"Your father had your whole life planned our for you, from your marriage to how he wanted you to think. We agreed to let our children have more freedoms. Anna and Merrickk have been meeting for a while now." She admitted, "Chaperoned the whole time, of course--" Unlike her and Arthur's meetings, Guinevère had made sure herself or Rosa was near by. They gave the two room, but she also knew how young love could be. "--And they've fallen in love. He makes Anna happy. Should that not be the greatest reason to say yes?"

"And as I said, if you prefer to stay with the children," No," "I would completely understand." "No," She would be there watching him fight, and with him in his tent when he was not fighting. Her place, as always, was by her husband's side. She also knew their eldest son would be hard kept from the excitement. She would have to make sure he only came to watch the ones they knew would not go too far. The ones were the knights fought each other and knew it was just sport, rather then strangers they did not trust.
"I will be wit my husband." Where she belonged. "We will have to get quarters ready," She could do that. While she did not get the rooms ready herself, she could make sure everything was made ready, and flowers were in chambers and families were close to each other. "I will see about getting some extra help from trusted places to make sure all the rooms are cleaned daily." Family members of current servants whom could use the extra coin. "You will have to find a way to keep your son from seeing most of it."
Amaren could watch some of the fighting, but she wasn't ready for him to see blood yet. Perhaps the ones were Arthur fought men like Leon, Elyan, Percival and Gwaine or his other knights who entered. She knew they would not take it too far!

"I would tell you that you needn't worry, but I know that such words would be trivial to say," It would for she would forever worry about his well being. Arthur was her husband and the father to her children. She wanted him alive and safe and well--and near her! "I can not let the fear of Morgana and Odin striking, control every aspect of our lives." Something she had told him often, and her own views given back to her wasn't something she missed.
"This is not something I can exempt myself from," Surely he could, surely giving his knights a chance to prove themselves would be a show if respect to them? "As a king, I must participate." She hoped that he could be persuaded, but she also knew when his mind was made up. "Besides, I will have Excalibur with me," He would jest? She knew he was trying to help her relax and embrace the idea, but she still feared the temptation could get him attacked. "I think that gives me a fairly good chance to get fair in the competition,".
"I think to be fair, no mythical swords should be allowed." She teased, but the worry was in her tone. She wasn't doing to enjoy this tournament. She also knew he would know she was joking and that he sword would be by his side. " . . . . I do not like this . . . I will not rest easy until it's done with."
