Women were nothing but trouble. Alistair knew this was breaking the rule he had made just the day before. She had teased him, until she got him stuck in that metal death trap of a shirt and then ran away from him. This could be a trap, she could be playing him. Mae was right there, he was sitting a bad example for a kid. He should slide back, walk away. Save himself and his pride before she tried to hit him again.
Yes, walk away from the siren, ignore her song. Still, he was not willing to break eye contact. It was like how moths, flew close the fire. He'd knew it would burn him; kill him but he could not pull back. Just hope he could pull back in time.
Alistair let his hand linger in her hair. His rough hands were not used to something so soft as her skin and hair. They were used to his own skin, and the ground and hard work. They were used the hilt of his sword. Not silk of her skin. This was a bad idea. He knew he should break eye contact right this second. No more of this. The game would only get her killed when it made him drop his guard. "To hell with it," He said in a deep low almost growl before leaning closer to gently cover her lips with his.

Really? All eyes were on Camelot and the royal family right now? How . . . . perfect. "It seemed I am just in time. What sort of games do they have planed for the likes of you and I?" He asked, knowing they were neither nobles so they would not get to see everything. Only the cheaper, lowerclass events that were planned. Still, he was not overly interested in the events for him self.
"I am assuming as well, all the foreign kings have brought their sons and daughters with them?" He asked as he walked a few steps closer, "Camelot must be full of royal and noble alike, and the lower towns filled with their servants and followers." He gave a shrug, "Would you tell me which ones are favored at court most, so I make sure not to insult anyone. I'd hate to ruin anyone's time here." This was not why he wanted to know, but he was a good reason. An idea was forming in his head. . . now he just needed to QUICKLY find Vaughn and see if he could get the man's help.

Alistair was very uncomfortable in large public settings but he had been waiting for someone to come in and bring him something. He needed information, and the best way to get it was with coin. Coin he had, thanks to his recent 'adventure'. The man who had the information he needed, entered and came over to sit down. Alistair wasn't one to talk so the man slipped him a sealed parchment and Alistair dropped one of two bags of of coins on the table.
The man paused and looked as if he might try to say something but Alistair only jerked his head to the door in a silent command. Leave. While he was no noble, and did not even have the look; he was a large well built man. He had a way of looking at men, that some (especially non druids) feared.
Not wanting to draw attention to the transaction, Alistair sat there, waiting for the man to get away. He was not afraid someone might know his face, but more that someone would see this and wonder what was going on. He did not want anyone to know what he had just paid for. This was his 'trick up his sleeve' for later.

Alistair had not answered Mae's question, and nor was he going to. He would let Mae ask to visit the princess. Let the princess think over how things would never be, even if Druids became safe in Gwent one thing would still keep them apart: Princess did supper with the poor. More then druid blood kept Mae from being able to be friends with her, kept him---from nothing. He wanted to shake his head again, to stop whatever thought had been forming.
"Please?! I promise to be good, and help with the chores!?" Mae pleaded, the way children sometimes did, and Alistair spoke to her with out bring his face away from the princess'. "She is not a druid, Mae, she can go were we can not. What might be safe for her, is not safe for you, nor I." He wanted to look at Mae to make sure she understood but he was not about to break eye contact first.
Mae might have reacted to that statement but it was not with words, and Alistair was only half paying the child any attention anymore. Mae was a wonderful person, happy and loving against all odds; but in this moment, his attention was on the woman, not the child. Reaching up slowly, he brushed some of the hair back from the princess' face, before moving in slightly closer and speaking in the same deep low voice from a moment ago. "How else would you suggest a man get what can't be earned?" Lowly druids did not earn princesses . . . . Then it accorded to him, why were they speaking of this as if it was something possible? When he returned her home they would not even think of each other, right?
[You did it then, I liked the gold but this one makes her seem more . . . upperclass, I guess is the word I am looking for. Less innocent. Your good with graphics]

She had not continued their double meaning conversation, and he was thankful for that. "Two day." He replied to her question. He had told her (hadn't he?) that this would be just for a few days. If not then he'd meant to. It was then she roused the mischief side of him with her next challenge done by words and deeds. Normally the only one who could inspire him to break his own rules was Vaughn, a man who he'd known as a child but had a darker soul the Alistair did. Vaughn was part of this plan, in a way but He'd hope to keep him from the whole plan.
It was not Vaughn, but the princess who'd done it to him this time. With her i-am-better-then-you voice, and turning her back to him with it ram rod straight and graceful. It was as of she was trying to annoy him or at lest get a reaction from him. He lifted up off his arse and on to the balls of his toes, staying crouched down. He moved as slightly as he could up behind her.
Mae was replying to her, slightly distracting her while he moved, "Maybe then when I am older, I can go to Avalon and visit you?" He sent Mae (who had said the word Avalon with a roll of her eyes, as if she did not believe a word of what these two said) a wink, as he leaned forward she spoke in a low, deep voice near her ear. "Don't fool your self, Princess, men always want the finer things in life and then unattainable." Which she was both.
[Nice new banner. You make them?]

She sounded, dare he say, amused at this game. "Druids would not have to, if they did not have so many people hunting them. Fairies should also remember that they are not in fairy land anymore." Alistair was less amused, while his voice was calm, he was growing more uneasy with this topic. Mae wasn't daft, and she would start understanding soon. He was not just protecting Mae here, if the child learned the princess was just that--a noble she had been raised to fear and hate, he unsure what that might bring around. He doubted they would seek to hurt her but they could make these few days worse on her. Undo whatever ground he had gained.
It was a balancing act he was doing here, he was a druid but he was still a stranger to these people. He had to make sure the princess learned just enough to open her eyes but not enough to damn them all--"Not if he is sending you home! I thought you kidnapped her to be your wife?"--on the other side of the balance, he had to keep her safe. If the more angry, bitter druids knew she was here, he might not be able to protect her. . . .. and his dreams were growing clearer.
"But she won't marry me." He explained to the laughing Mae, saying it was her fault. "She can't stay here alone and unwed. Tell her, if she wishes to stay she has to marry me. If she does not then I am taking her home and leaving her there." He was amused at his word, making it seem like the princess was in charge of her fate. "I will give her two more days after this one to make up her mind, if she still says nay then I must return her to fairy land beyond the gates of Avalon. Until then she lives the life of a druid, not of a fairy. . . . " He grinned as he brought the conversation full circle, "and druids keep their secrets."

"--and because he thinks I'm dangerous." Alistair who had just come from the other side of the camp looked over at them, as he picked up on what they were speaking of!! The princess was just telling the kid everything?! Mae's eyes grew wide and excited, "Are you really powerful then?" A powerful pain in his arse! "No, because Fairies can't keep secrets and druids only stay alive by keeping them." He stressed the word secret as a reminder to her, not to tell the children to much. He was letting them talk, but if the princess went to far, he'd protect Mae by keeping her in the dark.
As for her remarks over no one wanting to marry him, he rolled his eyes, and tired to think of a remark to come back with. He was not used to witty banter and long conversations. Years of being alone make him not feel to comfortable in crowds, and sometimes not know what to say. "Like wise." Was the best he could come up with, and even to him it sounded childish even with his deep voice.
At lest she was honest, he thought as she called her self completely useless. He still wasn't sure what princesses did all day (but by the look at how pretty she was he would guess it involved hours around a mirror) but they could not even carry buckets of water, or wash clothing. They had others wait on them hand and foot because they were born that way. Where born 'special'. "Besides Mae, we both will be moving on in a few days. The princess will be going home, but I promise to come visit when I can." If he was not hunted by then. Once she went home, told them who he was, he knew he'd had every knight in the kingdom after him.

She began asking questions, in a quick child like way, starting off excited at the idea of him tricking her, and ending confused over her father's displeasure. "Did he trick you!? Why would Father not want you here? He likes everyone . . . everyone but the king." She corrected her self at the end. She knew of her father's hate for nobles, and mostly for the king. The king hunted them for no other reason then what they could do. No one seemed to see the irony that the king was doing what he feared of them. Distorting the peace for no true reason.
"You don't have to be a druid to stay here." Mae reassured her, and seemed to know not to ask more questions, "If you did marry Alistair, you'd be a druid then. We'd help keep you safe. He knows were danger is coming, and we can avoid it. The king's men never look here, cause nothing will grow. They think it's un-in-habit-able . . . " Mae stumbled over the words she'd heard her father use before as she tried to explain to Isadora why they lived here.
Their faces had gone from laughter to somber. Not good. It meant they were plotting or something equally annoying. Alistair shot a glance at Rilan before standing and casually walking over to the girls. He once again resumed his sit leading against the tree holding one end of the rope up. He said nothing to them, and did not even glance their way, just moved with in ear shot for he did not trust his little princess. He could tell that with their faced, things were getting away from the casual conversation. Why did women always do that?

"You don't believe him, I take it?" It was very clear Mae thought it was teasing her, she was very unaware just how much Alistair had told her. "No one can steal from Avalon! He must have said it because your pretty, like a fairy should be!" Alistair had only told her such a lie, because he knew she would not believe him, and yet it would seem real in ways. He hoped she would be to young to ask for the truth and keep playing with the lie. Marry the princess? A druid?
She had made him want to kill her, and kiss her with in the space of an hour, and not even for the first time. He pitted the man she'd one day wed. She'd either be stronger then him, and run all over him or if he was strong enough to stand up to her they'd spend the rest of their lives . . . . Alistair shook his head as of to shake off the thoughts he was thinking. She was ice at times, ice was hard to live with. Still, he'd seen cracks in that ice. Some man, whoever the poor bastard was, was going to one hell of time melting it.
Had she'd been a druid, things might have been different.
"What do you think? Should I marry him?" Mae laughed at the question and looked back at Alistair for a moment, then back at Isadora. "Yeah! You could stay here forever!" She said, being to young to know details and that there was more to take into thoughts then just staying somewhere. Mae was the only girl here, she didn't see beyond gaining a friend. She grew slightly serious, but more in a childlike way, then a grave way before asking curiously; "Isadora, your not a fairy, I know but you're not a druid, are you?"

"I told you Id do your work today, I meant it." Mae laughed softly but not in a mean way, "Your not going to finish this today if I don't help you. Then tomorrow there will be more work." She explained, "Besides, soon the men will hunt and then we have to get more water, and start cleaning the catch." Which meant skinning, and cooking whatever rabbits or deer they managed to bring down.
It took allot of work, and it never ended in a Druid camp but it wasn't like in the city. There if you did not finish your chores, then you got fired, whipped, or you could not make enough money to feed yourself. Here if you did not finish your work, you just had more to do the next day. Mae had never been to a city, but she didn't think she'd like it there. She'd heard storied from her father, none of them flattering.
Ask Alistair? "Maybe I will." She said before looking over at him, then over at Isadora, feeling doubt. After a moment, she turned and started walking over to where Alistair was sitting. The conversation could not be over heard but one moment, Alistair was sitting calmly then next he was standing and glaring at the princess and the next he started laughing. He sat back down and looked at Mae, speaking very low to her.
When Mae came back she was laughing. "Alistair said you were a fairy princess, and he kidnapped you from the gates of Avalon it's self, to be his wife. He said you were learning to be mortal." It was clear from her expression she did not believe him; and it was clear from Alistair's expression he thought his words funny.
Alistair on the other hand, wondered what the women were talking about. How had that question come about and why did Mae ask it of him. He would have thought they were mocking him had he not known they'd had no time planning such things. Not in the moments they have spent together.

"My name is Isadora" Not a very druid name, and her hands were so free of marks and scars. Mae might not be the smartest girl in the world but she was not an idiot, "Sastipe, my name is Mae, daughter of Rilan. She used the Druid word for hello and the formal greeting. Sastipe was part of the old language that magic lived in, spoken for longer then man could remember. She was sort of testing, to see what the woman knew.
"No, of course not." Mae started to help her with the washing, sharing the other side of the bucket while they talked. She seemed to be starting to understand, even if she did not know what was going on. Maybe she was not a druid, and had run away, that could be the only reason Mae could think of. "He does not talk much, but he saved my brothers. They were playing in the river, and the current was to strong for them. Alistair is a seerer, he saw it happen, and knew how to save them from his dreams."
Mae started to hang some of the clothing that was scrubbed, she looked over at her father and then at Alistair before going back the Isadora and whispering, "Are you going to marry him?" She asked, wondering if she had runaway. Mae seemed to think nothing of Alistair's treatment of Isadora.

"Then why are you? Apparently Alistair thinks I need to build up some callouses." Mae looked down at that and it would be hard not to notice the unscared hands that were working. "You looked like you needed a friend. Besides, druids have to stick together, that is why Father says." she told her, and looked over to make sure no one was watching. Only Alistair seemed to pay any attention to them, and he did not appear to be about to stop them.
Alistair was trying to only pay half attention to them. The other half he was trying to ignore them. He wanted to know what they were talking about, but didn't want them to know he wanted to know. If the princess gave away who she was, it would be bad. However, if he reacted angry over their speaking, Mae would only get more curious. Children and Woman could never mind their own business, and Mae was both.
"I notice you didn't come over here until he went away. Are you afraid of him?" Mae gave her a smile, "Of Alistair? Nnnoooo. Are you?" Mae had not reason to fear him, he might be bossy but he had never hurt her, or anyone around her.

The women were plotting together. Alistair watched Mae walk over to the princess and he rolled his eyes. Why was it women thought they knew better then you? They did what they wanted even after you told them no? Alistair could not hear them, but nor was he going over there right now. He was at a road block in his evil plans and he was annoyed with himself.
I am not allowed to talk to you, Mae told her. Her father had his back to them right now, so Mae was mostly safe from being caught. Her father would be ignoring them, even if Mae did not understand why. Why are you doing my chores? Not that Mae was not grateful but it did make one wonder . . .
Alistair watched them, knowing he should jump up and break them up. If Rilan caught them speaking there would be hell to pay. Still, he was rather displeased with him self and did not trust himself not to go over there and ruin things more. he would wait til just before noon, and then go make her carry more water. That would turn things around.
{{No that is perfect. His exceptions are just higher then realism. He is not used to being the villain and now he is pouting about it.}}

Damn. Alistair was rather disappointed with her reaction; or more to the point rather disappointed with his inability to read her reaction. She just stopped looking at him. What did that mean? Annoyed that he cared, and annoyed that he was left in the dark he took a step back. "At lest now you will be able to work better." He grumbled to her. She had not even raised to the bait of the good girl. Her ice had melted moments ago, when they had shared a laugh. Now it seemed to be back up, and they were no longer Isadora and Alistair but Princess and Druid once again. Yes, damn indeed.
He should have waited, gone with his plan to get Mae to charm her. Maybe it was Rilan's hate of nobles that made her unwilling to show thanks, or emotion here. Alistair had only known him for a few days but everyone knew Rilan did not like nobles. The druids were very peaceful people for the most part. It was the bitter few, or the angry that stuck out and built the reputations of the many. Rilan might be bitter, but he would not seek to hurt others. Maybe Rilan had not been his best option.
Frustrated with himself, Alistair turned from her, leaving her standing there as he walked further then had left her alone before, to his tent. He sat down right out side of it, deciding that he was not too far from where she would be working to catch her if she ran. He just needed time away from the mystery that was all to quickly starting to get under his skin. He would sit here and keep an eye on her, while getting far enough away that conversation was no needed. Give her time to think. Give him time to stop thinking.

On that first link you posted, Gwen for spoilers. I noticed that there has been some updates. It has allot more detail. Including, who comes back from Gwen's past. Her brother! Here is some other quotes from that site. Some look really promising: 'Series 3 is being written to appeal to both adults and kids, adjusting plotlines to a fanbase that is growing older.' -- 'Arthur's relationship with his father is really put into tests as he learns the truth about his mother, which is disturbing information for him' -- 'There is a lot more banter between Merlin and Arthur and more magic.' -- 'More about Uther's past will be shown, and the repercussions of everything he did keep filtering to the surface' -- 'Morgana will be involved in a big fighting scene. -No fighting for Gwen although her part will grow into a more powerful part.' -- 'Uther is finding out not everything he did was the brightest move.' -- 'Uther has secrets that will gradually surface'
'Short scenes involving Bradley and Colin and Bradley and Angel were filmed. In his scene with Gwen, Arthur was yelling for some reason.' -- 'More jousting' --'-Katie, Angel and Emilia filmed a scene in the lower town. Emilia had aged aging make up that made her look like an 80-year-old woman. An apple was part of the plot.'
Merlin's keep has a few rumors as well, but they all look the same. 'There are unconfirmed rumors of a scene in which Morgana slaps Gwen.' Ouch.

Alistair watched as the ranger signaled his men to leave. Was that just a show, or was the ranger really going to stay here alone with him? Either the ranger had strong skills to back up such a bold move, or was not very good at his job. Being he was a captain, Alistair was willing to bet it was the former, and not the later. Still, the feeling of being watched lingered.
"I am traveling to meet a friend, you need not worry that I am a spy or a thief." A druid he was however, which lead him to make his next statement, "I will not linger here more then a hour. You will not see me come morning." Because Camelot was not safe for his kind. It was not something he wanted to think on however. Not while the idea of helping them was so strong.
"You are welcome to sit an join me, share a small meal if you wish." Alistair offered, wondering what the ranger knew of Camelot's politics. He wondered how he could question him about the druids and the king without letting on why he was doing it.

Alistair did not reply to the boy's question. He could not see everything the future held but he did not need his gift of sight in order to know what would happen if he was being honest. He was getting the impression that he was annoying the young hunter. The boy was loyal to the crown, that must was becoming slightly clear. The only thing that was not clear was if he was loyal because Alistair was an outsider, and he did not want strangers insulting his home; or if he was actually loyal to the crown.
He did not see a need to hide his name but thought about holding it back to annoy him more. Had he not had some questions to ask him he would have ignored the question. "Alistair." He answered, and then asked his own question, "There are many banners traveling to the city. The king has guests it seems." While neither was a question, it did open the conversation. "I've heard rumors of a treaty?" There, a question.

"I don't." She told him, and Alistair fought back a grin, "Good girl." He said, mostly to annoy her. He knew she had no reason to trust her kidnapper, but it annoyed him she did not. He had never really played the villain before. Before he had come here he had been to much of a loner to try at being a hero, but when the event did rise he always did what he thought was best. He had never gone out of his way to hurt others, until he decided it was time to help his people. Now it seemed, he would have to grow used to being hated, feared, and mis-trusted.
He kept his eyes on her for a moment before looked away. When Rilan came back to them, he held some herbs in his large but bony hands. Alistair knew she would be wary or even frightened so he moved to stand closer to her then he should and watched Rilan work. He doubted his presence would comfort her; why should it? He however also wanted to keep her from backing out. 'We are on equal terms after this.' Rilan told Alistair, and Alistair did not reply to him. He had seen the death of Rilan's sons, and had helped prevent it, and Rilan would do this. There was no reason to reply.
Rilan lifted her wrist and rubbed them over the busing while saying an some words that most did not understand. Alistair only knew some of them from his time with the druids. His uncle had been his father's brother--Not a druid, not a magician. After the words where spoken, time seemed to stand still for a long moment and Rilan pulled away. 'We are equal now. I want no more to do with this. She is one of them!' Rilan walked away but did not go far, just returned to his place around the fire with the other men.
Alistair wanted to look down at her wrist, but his eyes could not leave her face. He already knew the power of magic but he wanted to know her reaction. To know how this would effect her. Would she began to doubt that magic was evil? If he gained even that much ground with her, he knew the druids in Gwent would have a strong chance of being safe. If their queen knew magic was not truly evil; then they would be safe. When she became queen, there would be hope for them. He would have help something change.

He gave her a grin and then stooped her up in his arms and sat her gently on her feet. Taking her by her hand, he lead her over to were some of the men were talking. He knew this would be hard for her, but he hoped that by doing this, it would give help at lest open her eyes. He might not change her mind, but maybe he can make her not see the world as black and white; good or evil. Everything was in the middle.
He stopped near a middle aged man, about ten years older then himself. Again, her title was her name, but said softer, "Princess, this is Rilan, Mae's father." He introduced her to the man. Rilan just gave her an awkward nod of his head and then looked at Alistair as if he was out of his mind. Alistair lifted the princess' purple and bruised wrist up, being very gentle with it. "She fights me like a lioness, this one." He told the man in a slight joke. "It seems I have injured her. Can you fix this?" He hoped if Rilan healed her, she would see the good side of magic. 'I am not working any spells before someone who would have me killed for it' Rilan answered bitterly. 'You bring her here. Let her see my family, and then ask that I give her a reason to come hunting for me and mine?'
This had not been part of the plan. He should have known that is would not be this easy. "Rilan, I am not asking." he said, his voice deep and strong, "You know you owe me. My dreams kept your boys safe. This is what I demand in return. I do not have the knowledge nor skill." He wasn't going to explain how he had helped Rilan and his boys, Alistair did not brag but it seemed to do the trick. Rilan sent her a glare before giving Alistair a nod.
Rilan walked away for a few moments to gather supplies. Alistair turned to looked down at her, "Trust me." Was all he said in hopes it would give her the strength to not change her mind.

The moment was gone. He had lost her the moment he touched her wrist, and he could see it in her eyes. Her words however made him wonder if she was willing. He knew this would either me a moment of faith, or they were going right back where they had been. At odds, with each other. Why should she trust him?
"Aside from the necessary lie to get you out of the castle, I have not lied to you." Miss lead her, ignored her, and injured her; but not openly lie to her. "You say magic is only evil. You say, because they say. You believe, cause they believe." He was referring to them (they), whoever had told her magic was evil. "Give your self a chance to decided for your self. Stop being the Princess for one moment, and be Isadora. You want to lead your people to best way you can. Will you do it the way they have done for years only because they have done it that way for years or will you explore and learn? Druids are your people as well, Princess, what if they need your protection too?"
He watched her for a moment, "Have you ever wondered, what if you execute an innocent? What if the reason they did not turn their back on magic was the same reason you could not turn you back on your kingdom? It's who they are, who they were born to be, and it's in their blood."
"Besides, worse case I prove you right and you can hate me some more, right?" He knew why she would be doubtful. Love spells. "I will NOT make you fall in love with. . . . at lest not my magic. If you do that it's just because I am dashingly charming." He teased her, trying to get her to believe and trust for a moment. He could force her to watch, but he wanted her to be willing. He didn't like trying to talk someone into something, as he wasn't a talker, but he wanted her to want this; not to be forced to see it.
