Felicia was shaking all over. Only pure anger was stopping her from fleeing with fear. Yes, she was daft to face this evil being with no means to protect herself though something inside her kept her rooted to the spot. Staring into the cold calculated eyes that had ruined her life for no fault of her own.
"Yes, by now I should probably be dead. How does it feel to know your magic is inadequate. Not as powerful as you thought you were are you," she spat. She knew she probably shouldn't rile the witch up but the words had come out before she had time to think what she was saying.
Felicia was even angrier when the witch didn't even remember exactly who she was. She must have done so many of these curses she lost track of them all. How evil could she get?
"I'll fill you in shall I, seen as your memory seems to be lacking, same as your magic," she began. "My mother overheard you plotting to kill the King so naturally she told him. You found out what she did and you cursed her, well, me actually. My magic was supposed to consume me, drain my life away from me. Yet here I stand. I promise you I will avenge my mother and brothers."
With shaking hands she raised her brothers old sword and advanced a step toward the power behind her suffering.

With the help of Lady Maeve Felicia's strength had been slowly growing by the day. She still had to have regular top ups you could call it to keep the pain at bay but life was, for once, looking promising. Lady Maeve had promised she would get in contact with a more powerful ally of hers who could, maybe, rid her of the dreaded curse all together. Felicia hoped upon hope that he would arrive soon. For now though things were not so bad. She had vowed to find herself a job to finally take care of herself and be independant. Thigns were looking promising.
That morning she had felt the strongest she had in a rather long time. She found one of her brothers swords, which were a little worse for wear. She tidied it up and sharpened it to a reasonable standard though and it would do for her purpose of the day.
She had left for the woods early that morning and had been practising her sword fighting for the most of the morning. Along with her vow to be independent she had also promised she would find her brothers and mother and avenge them. Felicia was starting to feel a little weak and was heading for home when she heard a rustle of leaves. She decided to follow the sounds. Then there she was! It was her! Felicia was sure of it. That witch was the one who had cursed her family. Felicia gathered her courage and decided to follow. She had no idea what she was going to do but she felt almost as though she was in a trance. Felicia though was not very practised at being light on her feet.
“Who’s there?”
Should she run? Should she hide? No. She gathered what strength and courage she could muster and stepped out from the tree she was hiding behind.
"My name is Felicia Shadowmere," she answered, trying her best not to show the trembling in her voice. What did she think she was going to do exactly. Stood before her was a powerful witch and here she was a shadow. Not sure how to go on she stayed quiet after stating her name. She wondered if the witch even knew who she was.

When Felicia had ventured out on her own, for the first time in five years, all she had hoped for was the strength to find her own food and water. She had never even contemplated that a kind lady would take her in, listen to her woes and promise to help rid her of the curse that had befell her. The Lady Maeve, as she always called her, had more than helped her. Lady Maeve had used her healing powers to try and rid her of the cancerous curse. The healing had not worked entirely but now she atleast had the strength to care for herself and at last look for a job she had always wanted, while the Lady Maeve went in search for her more powerful healing friend. She had had an uncomfortable night, she still suffered with her pounding headaches, which always seemed to be more fierce at night. Though she woke with a renewed energy and strength to finally get out there and find herself a means to live on her own back. She wore the dress that Lady Maeve had bought her the day that they had met, she hoped that it would be a good luck charm, of sorts. She brushed her stubborn hair and pulled it up into a loose pony tail with a ribbon. She smiled as she looked and felt more like a woman than she had in many a year. She had been walking around the streets of Camelot for awhile now, looking around and thinking of what she would actually like to do. When she came upon the Blacksmith shop. She, again, smiled to herself, remembering her eldest brother and their shared passion of wanting to be a Blacksmith. It was true that it was not the usual practise for a woman to work in this profession but she hoped that today was the today things could change. She walked into the Blacksmith shop and called out, "Hello?"[/color]

Felicia was overwhelmed. She held back her flowing of tears, finding it hard when Maeve mentioned her family. She greatly hoped that her family was still alive. There was always hope. She had no proof afterall that they were. She truly couldn't thank the Lady enough for her offer and help. To feel she was not alone was a great comfort. She had thought she would have to face her plight alone and then this stranger comes to her.
"I am truly thankful. You did not have to help me," she smiled through her wet face. "I am staying at my mother's house, it's just a little way from the markets. As to who will care for me, I now have no one, that's why I was out of hiding," she explained.
(Sorry it's short, brother wants his comp back lol)

Felicia decided to brave it. She did truly believe that Maeve was a trustworthy person but if not either way her suffering would end. One was just quicker than the other. She took a deep breath, closed her eyes for a second then began.
"Right, well, many years ago my mother overheard, using her ability, an evil witch's plot to kill the King. So my mother told King Uther what she had heard and was rewarded for her loyalty with our house and a permanent job as seamstress to the castle. Then the witch found out what my mother had done and cursed her. Basically, she said, because my mother had betrayed the magical kind that magic would betray her too. So, she lost her telepathic ability and couldn't use any kind of magic anymore. As an extra evil she also said that, although it's rare, if any of her children contained any magical ability then it would become a disease. At the age of 20 the magic would turn against them, until death. So, for the past five years I've been holed up, hidden, in our house. The pain increasing day by day. My five brothers went travelling when I turned 21 to try and find a cure but they never came back. Then a couple of days ago my mother went out to buy food and water and she never returned. That's why today, for the first time, I ventured outdoors for food and water," Felicia told the kind lady, slowly and painfully. She had loved her family so much. They had been so close. If she ever found out who that witch was she had no idea what she would do.
Felicia looked at Maeve, tears slowly running down her cheek.

Felicia instantly became guarded. Should she take a chance in the vain hope that she could indeed be helped. She knew her mother had always said that their was no cure but was her mother right. She had led a rather sheltered life. The family had always kept themselves to themselves. Only her brothers had ventured out into the world, and never returned. The way Maeve made her feel safe, almost at home, could she truly be trusted.
"If I tell you," Felicia started, pausing for the latest shot of sharp pain coursing through her whole body, taking her breath away. "Will you promise me that you won't tell anybody? I mean no-one. If it gets out I could be hanged," she carried on with stunted breath, panic showing in her face.

"Oh I do not mind at all," Felicia replied, with her most heartfelt thanks. She hadn't been given anything new for many a year.
Felicia knew that the Lady Maeve really and truly wanted to help her and Felicia felt sad that there was no way that could happen. Her mother and brothers had, from an early age, drummed into her that she must never tell anyone about her ability, never mind the curse which was put upon it. She really wanted to confide in Maeve but how was she to know if she should trust her. She felt like she could.
"It is lovely thank you Maeve." If she had had the strength she would have put it on there and then. But, alas.
"I know you want to help me," Felicia added sadly, "But the pain will never go away you know. Not til it kills me anyway."

As the lady touched her hand and spoke in her soft sing-song voice Felicia once more felt safe. She wasn't sure if it was just her soft assuring voice or her whole aura that made her feel this way but no matter. The fact that she did indeed make her feel this way made her happy.
Felicia smiled an easier smile as the lady reassued her that she would be staying as long as she was needed. That fact did make her happy but realisation hit her. She has always needed somebody, she didn't want the lady to rearrange her life just for her. Or was there indeed a way to cure the curse? Should she pin her hopes that this lady was the one to find the cure or admit defeat and end it now, give in and wait for darkness to take her?
May I ask what your name is?
"My name is Felicia, Felicia Shadowmere," she replied.

Felicia was out at ease after Maeve's reply. SHe thought her very kind. Without meaning to she tried to read her thoughts, it was a thing she could not control, and once again she felt a great sharp pain shooting like pins and needles through her head. She grabbed and forehead and winced.
Once the pain had subsided a little she turned her attention to her food and water. Then she had a worrying thought. She knew she had to work something out herself but she was so used to someone looking after her. She still had no idea what she was going to do. She knew she needed some kind of income but how could she work like this. She had to find a way to lift the curse, or atleast find a way to lessen it someway. Without meaning to was starting to feel a strong need for Maeve not to leave her. But she knew that she was not the ladies responsibility and that the lady would leave to live her own life, follow her own goals.
"So, what happens now? Are you going?" Felicia asked, almost like a shy frightened child.

Although Felicia was panicking that the lady may not return, just like the others, she had a feeling that she would indeed keep her word. Just then she felt a sharp pain increasing behind her eyes. She had these often but still it took her breath away and took awhile for it to reside. As the pain ebbed away she gave in to the comfiness and decided she would rest her eyes. She felt like she had been awake for days.
Her sleep, as usual, was disturbed and unrestful. She tossed and turned as she dreamt of her lost family, the happier times then the dark times. The day, her 18th birthday, the pain came. She was slowly brought out of her sleep by a slight knock at the door. The lady had returned.
As Maeve entered the room, with a tray full of food and water Felicia smiled weakly and hutched up to the bedstead.
How are you feeling?
"I'm feeling much better thankyou," she managed, clearing her dry throat. Her voice was still croaky and dry but atleast she could now be heard and understood, although if it hurt a little. Felicia then thought of something she would like to ask, although she was worried, she didn't want to upset the lady. As she took the tray of food and lay it on her lap, stopping to take a big jug of the water she decided to ask.
"Erm, I am truly thankful for you hospitality but why are you helping me? I had walked through many streets before you saw me but not one other person even looked my way."

As Felicia was led to a room at the motel and was made comfortable on the bed she sighed with relief. As her weight was lifted completely from her wary bones she sunk into the relatively comfortable bed and felt the pressure release from her body. She was so thankful even if she could speak right now she would have been lost for words.
As the dear lady Maeve promised to return with food and water she felt safe for the first time since her family had disappeared. She was overcome with panic when Maeve headed for the door. Afterall it was not the first time someone had told her they would not be long and then did not return. Even though the lady promised she would not be long in her return, she smiled but inside she worried.
(That is absolutely fine. My bad really I was supposed to say you could move me/her but forgot)

Felicia was grateful for the lift when the nice lady took some of her weight. She wasn't expecting any help, thinking that she truly was now on her own. She was overwhelmed and truly thankful for aid.
When the lady told her her name Felicia gave a little weakened smile. She thought it a wonderfully pretty name. All she could think about was food and water but when the lady Meave offered to take her somewhere to rest she was torn. It was true she was tired, but she was starving and thirsty. She didn't have the strength to explain or argue so she let herself be led by her saviour.
"Thank you," she managed to croak.

Felicia had gotten further than she could have ever imagined. Her chest tightened with each step and her breathing struggled but with each resolved movement she somehow felt stronger too. She was doing it. She was getting there.
Out of nowhere she felt a weight on her shoulder. She winced as a wave of pain went through her. She heard a soft voice asking her if she was all right. She was a little taken aback. She wasn't expecting to be approached by anyone. Wasn't prepared for it. What was she supposed to say? Give a family history? Say anything? Ask for help? She wasn't sure is she could even still speak. She hadn't used her voice in two years. She had found it took too much energy.
She decided she would at least try to be polite. She tried to say that she was all right but all that escaped from her dry cracked mouth was a rusty croak. Instead she signalled toward the market, hoping that the soft spoken, beautiful lady would understand. (Absolutely fine Maeve. Great to RP with you.)

How could things get any worse? For days now Felicia stay hidden, enveloped in darkness, her eyes black and sunken, her skin pale and yellowing, any source of light penetrating her head. The pain was excruciating. At the best of times her daily pain was hard to cope with but now starving and dieing of thirst it had taken new heights. Her mother had only gone out to fetch some food and water. She never came back. Felicia had to make a choice; stay and die or pick up the courage, gather every last ounce of strength she had left and venture, for the first time in five years, outside and find food and water. She thought about what her brother would say. She couldn't just lie down and die - couldn't, wouldn't give in. The curse would not beat her.
First things first, she had to find some money. Every step agonising, weakening, she managed to find her mother's hidden stash and found enough to atleast feed and water her for two days. After that? She knew she had to do something. Find a way to earn money. But how, she had only barely had enough strength to put one foot in front of the other. Taking a deep breath, covering her head with her hood to stop as much light hitting her eyes as possible, she summoned her strength and headed, slowly, painfully, to find nourishment.

Felicia was born and bred Camelot. She grew up with her mother and five brothers. Her eldest brother was a Blacksmith and was almost a father figure to Felicia. Almost seven years ago her brothers went travelling and never returned, presumed dead. When Felicia turned eighteen the curse began. Her mother explained to her that when she was pregnant with her first born she overheard, using her telepathic abilities, a dark witch's plot to overtake Camelot. So she told the King and the witch's attempt was thwarted. The witch found her mother and told her that a curse would befall her. The curse was that if any of her children had the telepathic power, then that power would eventually make them insane. It would eat away at them like cancer. Slowly taking away all energy and strength until there is nothing left. For years she thought nothing would happen as for generations the power only ever occured in females and as she had only ever had boys she thought she was safe. Until, Felicia. Growing up Felicia always knew she was different. She could hear thoughts of other, albeit it only whispers or cut off thoughts, and only when she was really concentrating. Nothing happened for years, she was happy, like any other child. Then when she turned eighteen, when she was jsut getting a hang of her power, things began to change. It was only her and her mother now, her mother nearly always working as a seamstress. Felicia slowly started to lose grip on her power, then her strength started to weaken, then pain started to overtake her. At times her head was in so much pain it felt like it would explode. This all drained what was of Felicia. Her mother had to quit work to care for her. Some days just holding a spoon was too much effort. Her moods got so bad sometimes her mother had to leave. Worse was yet to come, and brings us up to the present day. Her mother leaves her hidden in the basement, so people couldn't hear her screams, and goes shopping. She hasn't come back! Felicia now needs to take care of herself. She hasn't been outside in five years. Will she brave it?
