Arthur had far too much on his mind. He was trying to understand what had happened from being to taken by Vivian, to having the spell broken by his true love Gwen, and then her telling him nothing could become of them. It was a great deal to take in; the only positive thing he could think of was the fact that the peace treaties were established. But really, that was the only thing. Now his father was talking of having a large celebration to commemorate this occasion. Arthur could not think about that right now. He needed to clear his head, and get some fresh air . . which was why he was walking around the gardens in Camelot's courtyard. It was vacant, as the guards were helping some of the royal families prepare to leave.
Some however, were staying. Isadora being one of them. He wondered if she had watched the fight . . . or if she had thought the whole thing had been far too ridiculous. Did she know him well enough to know that he had over done it? He was rather certain his men would believe he would have done such a thing; like trying to woo her with chicken, or climb into her chambers in the middle of the night. Oh dear. This was mortifying. As as if someone had read his mind . . . he caught sight of the princess. He did not reject her company, but rather, welcomed it as she was a dear friend and would remain here to take part in whatever celebrations his father had in store. "Lady Isadora," he greeted, slightly lowering his head in a bit of a bow.

Isadora was just going for a relaxing stroll through the castle, the last few days had been trying, with the peace negotiations taking up much of her time and energy, she was glad for the chance to relax and celebrate here in Camelot before returning home. But while the treaty talks had been taxing, there had of course been room for some scandal; the whole castle was buzzing with the news of the budding relationship of Arthur and the lady Vivian, with much speculation as to whether it was truly love or just a brief infatuation for both parties. Knowing Arthur, Isadora was inclined to believe the latter, but she was surprised by how public he'd allowed this to become.
Looking back, it could have been a disaster had things turned out differently; with either Olaf or Arthur dead, there would have been war for certain. It was fortunate that Arthur came to his senses in time, or even if he had survived the duel, Isadora might've strangled him; all that work to be destroyed by a fit of passion? That simply would not do. Entering the courtyard, she smiled when she saw Arthur, waving when he called out his name and approaching him.
"Prince Arthur," she greeted in like, inclining her head politely. "Wherever is your better half? I would have thought you and the Lady Vivian were quite inseparable." She teased lightly, well aware that the other princess had already left to return home; according to rumor, she was still pining for Arthur. Poor girl.

Arthur made a bit of a face, and suppressed a groan. A Prince did not groan! . . . Not even when he had nearly made the biggest, most embarrassing mistake of his like. How was he going to answer? He needed to approach this manner with utmost delicacy. He could not just flat out say that he was under a spell, for then he would have to explain how it was broken, which would then reveal his love for Gwen. It was a complicated issue indeed, and while he trusted Isadora, he was not sure he should tell her the whole true. "For two people who are supposedly so inseperable, it was rather easy to watch her ride away." Arthur did feel bad for Vivian. He hoped that one day, she would find her true love who would break the spell for her . . . until then, the poor thing.
He paused, almost afraid to ask the next question, but as he previously reminded himself, he trusted Isadora. She was one of his closest friends and so he valued her opinion and she was a woman of good judgment. "Was it . . . really that bad?" He was reluctant to hear the answer, but he had to. Who else was he going to ask? Merlin and Gwen understood from the perspective of him being under a spell . . . but just how much were people talking about recent events? He was about to find out, so subconsciously, held his breath while he waited for the answer, but tried to brush it off, not wanting to admit or reveal just how embarrassed he actually was.

Isadora rolled her eyes at Arthur's response, slapping him lightly on the arm and laughing. "You're terrible! It's bad enough to lead a woman on when there isn't the peace of five countries to consider." She shook her head at him in disapproval, despite her laughing tone. Had it led to war, her reaction to him would've included a lot more anger; Isadora didn't like the idea of going to war, especially if it was only for the sake of Arthur and Vivian's hormones. How he won her over was what really caused Isadora to wonder, Vivian was known for having men fall in love with her, and then abruptly turning them down before her father tried to murder them. A cold fish, Isadora had heard Vivian described as.
She raised her eyebrows at him when he asked how bad it was, wondering if he wanted the truth. He must've, otherwise he wouldn't have asked her. "You were as a man possessed, all you would speak of was Vivian, 'glorious Vivian', for goodness sake, you almost killed a man! Of course it was that bad, Arthur, you really need to ask?" She laughed, Arthur's behavior had been ridiculous. "Honestly, Arthur, what were you thinking? I know you like to flirt but this was over the top, even for you."

"I'm glad you find this so amusing," he said sarcastically, though not offended or blaming her for being amused by the situation. If things had resulted differently, they would have been having a very different conversation. Arthur was beyond humiliated. How could someone make him do such a horrible thing?! What fun did they get out of humiliating a Prince?! Okay, so he could in fact understand that . . . but he could never condone it or appreciate it. He would prefer if someone just came out and tried to kill him rather than allow his downfall to come in this . . . embarrassing way. He made a face, not laughing at anything he was saying but instead, had a rather disturbed expression on his face.
Glorious Vivian?!? "I . . . " He cleared his throat. "Said that?" He couldn't believe it! How could he be so in love with one woman, and then say such things . . . and do such things with another?! Magic was a dangerous weapon indeed. "How I wish I knew what I was thinking," he said in an overly exaggerated dramatic voice. Oh thats right, he WASN'T thinking! "I . . . never felt so infatuated in my life." He had said it in such a way that it was not meant to be a good thing. He was still disturbed by his actions. "I don't know what came over me. I would never directly threaten such a strong treaty . . . especially not for someone like Lady Vivian." Poor girl. "I don't know what came over me, or her." At least that much was true . . . it had been a spell after all!
"I know I'm going to regret asking this . . . but what exactly did I do." Once again, he feared the answer. Everything he hurt made him realize how much he had hurt Guinevère, even if they could not be . . . for now. He doubted Isadora was going to sugar coat his actions . . . in fact, he asked her, knowing and hoping she would not. Brutally honestly, thats what he required right now and there were very few people he could rely on for that.

Isadora couldn't help it; she giggled when Arthur berated her for finding his suffering funny, and pressed a delicate hand to her lips in an effort to stifle the sound. When she managed to quiet her laughter, she shrugged, sobering herself at the sight of his obvious distress. "Or something to that effect, I'm afraid I didn't feel the need to memorize all the poetry you were reciting to her. Although, a word of advice? Next time you're wooing a woman, leave the sonnets behind. They were rather terrible, I'm afraid." Teasing Arthur was just far too much fun to pull any punches, no matter how distraught he appeared to be. He deserved it, with his ridiculous actions!
"Perhaps that's a good thing? Honestly, if you get this worked up over every woman you develop a passing fancy for, you're going to wind up breaking a lot more than a few hearts." Especially if he treated many more noble women the way he was now treating Vivian; he might be a prince, but what was that saying? Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned? Yes, he might wish to keep that in mind. She frowned at his criticism of Lady Vivian. Isadora held no love for the woman, she was a pain in the neck, to be sure, but it seemed so...harsh of Arthur, particularly when he'd claimed such a deep affection for her so recently. She felt bad for the other princess.
Isadora raised her eyebrows at him. "You don't remember? What, did you hit your head? Or simply hitting the ale a little too hard." She asked with disapproval, she didn't see how he could forget, but then, he was a man. Who could rely on them to remember anything? "Well, I think the worst of it was when you climbed into her bedchambers through a window. Or maybe worse yet was when her father found the two of you locked in an intimate embrace shortly thereafter?" Isadora hadn't witnessed any of this firsthand --thank God-- but she had it on good authority that it was true. "...Is any of this ringing a bell, or shall I go on?"

Yup. Arthur definitely regretted asking. He heard many things, but hearing it so . . . bluntly made him feel sick. He was indeed feeling nauseous. Not because of the woman he had been put under a spell for. No. Lady Vivian was and always would be a beautiful woman. But it was not someone Arthur cared for. It was not someone Arthur loved. That woman was someone else, and all he could do was think about how much he had put her through these past few days. Isadora's laughter and mocking statements only made him feel worse, as he made a face hearing everything she had to say about what had happened. "Poetry?" He was trying to react to one thing at a time. It was all so . . . so . . . overwhelming. "I do not recite poetry, or sonnets or . . . anything of that kind!" Arthur could not recall a single poetic line he said to her. How fargone had he really been?!
And that was not the worst of it. It did indeed get worse. He had climbed into her bed chambers?! Oh . . . dear . . . god. Bits and pieces were coming back to him, flashing in his mind. Oh lord. It was worse than he thought. They had been caught! Wait, what would have happened if they had not been caught?! No. Arthur could not even imagine such a thing. It was already bad enough he had betrayed Gwen to this extent, anything more would be even more unforgivable. "I have never acted so . . . intensely towards a woman before." He felt the need to justify himself. To point out that he had never been this obsessed with a woman before. Oh. Well, other than Lady Sophia. But both times he had been under a spell! Then again, not everyone knew that. What kind of reputation was he gaining for himself?! He had remembered seeing Vivian when she left, and how upset he had been. He only hoped that her own true love kissed her before she returned. Otherwise . . . no. Arthur did not want to think about the drama that would create.
"I would never have done such a thing, had I not been --" Under a horrible enchanted love spell! " -- so obviously, not in my right mind." He had to admit it, as much as his pride fought against it. There was no other logical explanation that he could give someone. It would be far more complicated to explain the truth about it, than to just admit that he had been a selfish, love obsessed fool! "If I was not in my right mind, I surely would have remembered everything." That was his added justification. "Apparently, it was not even worth remembering." Wait, how bad had that sounded?! "I mean to say that, it was not that serious. Just two individuals . . . overwhelmed with emotions." Yeah. Right. Emotions that jeopardized two entire kingdoms!

Isadora pressed a hand to her lips to stifle her giggles somewhat, but still failed a little bit, her giggles escaping. Yes, she was making fun of him, and the horrified way he reacted was only serving to make it all the funnier. She shrugged at his denials of her claims that he had spouted poetry to the Lady Vivian. "Well, I suppose it is a rather loose interpretation of 'poetry', but you were certainly trying." What Arthur had spouted could be termed poetry only by those who had never before heard it recited in their lives; which she was certain, some of the knights of Camelot hadn't.
She raised an eyebrow when he admitted that he'd never acted this way towards any woman before, she hoped not. "That's probably a good thing. Infatuation is never a good thing." She'd be quite worried about him if he treated every relationship like he had this past one with Vivian. "I am startled by how quickly you appear to have...changed your mind, though." She commented, how could he so easily go from loving a woman that intensely to hating the thought that he had loved her...although not hating her, it seemed. "Men." She added with a roll of her eyes.
She snorted with derision when he claimed he was not in his right mind. "They say loves does that." She commented drily, she had no experience in that area, only what she had read in books and heard from chatty women. She raised her eyebrows and her jaw dropped slightly at what he said. "Have some care for the honor of the Lady Vivian, would you? And don't spread this amnesia routine of yours around too much...King Olaf would not take kindly to it. Wait a while before you see her again, then explain that the passions of youth have left you and you see the folly of your actions. Then apologize profusely and hope her father doesn't cut your head off for the insult."

Arthur wondered if he was ever going to live this down. If this would ever be forgotten. Damn magic had to ruin everything! Why was it he who always had to be the one who was enchanted?! He did not understand it . . . nor did he understand who would have done such a thing. He had his suspicions with one of the kings, but would he really have gone that far as to force two kingdoms at war, just so he could weaken them? He supposed the greed of man could never be underestimated for there were some kings who only cared for power and wealth and would do anything to attain it. This whole situation was a prime example of that.
Arthur made a face, one that indicated he was not impressed with her finding humor in this. How many other people were laughing at him? His knights? The people of Camelot? They were either laughing, or judging him terribly and how could Arthur be a future leader of a kingdom when his people did not take him seriously? Or thought he was just there to create drama and tension? "I don't even know poetry," he mumbled defensively, paraphrasing what he had previously said about it.
He of course knew that Isadora was no fool, and therefore had to be sure to phrase things properly. He really wished he could just blurt out that it had been magic so that she would understand it was not all technically his fault. But he could not. Instead, he would have to justify his actions which many only make him appear to be more arrogant. Damned if he did, damned if he didn't. "Have you ever bee so infatuated with someone, only to have it fizzle out so quickly?" He was asking her a legitimate question for two reasons: one, to try and see if she had been in a similar situation -- though he doubted she would ever jeopardize two kingdoms to such an extent -- , and two, to shift a bit of the attention away from him, and onto her.
It was also a perfect question to lead into her next statement. "Would you say that love does that?" he asked curiously. "Though it was not love I felt for it. It was just infatuation," He had to make that much clear. He had sworn to Guinevère that he had never loved another, and he would not deceive or betray those words, even to someone who did not know about his feelings for her. "I have absolutely no intention of seeing her again," he said, making a bit of a horrified expression. "Not until she is settled, married, and Olaf is too old to challenge me to another duel." He really did hope the spell would be soon lifted from the poor girl. While he had sympathy for it, it was not enough for him to ever want to see her again to check on how she was doing. "You talked to her quite a bit right . . . how was she before she left?" Arthur had not spoken to her, only waved good bye to her and that was more than enough.
Though Isadora's suggestions as to what he should do were very wise, they were also ones that he did not want to par take in because while his 'passions of youth' were overcome, hers would not be. "I do not think hers have passed as quickly as mine have." Just as Isadora made a comment about men, he would make one about women. "Either I am that much more difficult to get over, or women get attached more easily, making it hard for them to let go." He said this a bit arrogantly, giving a charming smile while saying it. He couldn't resist. If he did not joke about this, it would make it too serious . . . too real.
