Guinevère watched him lie back and smiled over at him. She was glad that he seemed willing to just lie back and relax, not worrying about any pressing matters of the kingdom nor of dark foes out side their doors. She knew it would not be easy for him to stay here and let others do the hunting but she was glad that he could. She had a sudden image of a bassinet between them one day as they spent after supper hours sitting before the fire.
Maybe that would be the next change she added to the room, a large comfortable rug to put near the fire so when winter came the cool stone would still be comfortable to rest on. She didn't make many changes to his room, but there were some things she did make. Flowers to brighten it, maybe a rug, some other items that were about that made it more of a living room rather then the spare displays that used to align his walls. She tried to keep them small, and simple so she did not just take over.
She wanted to make sure he knew one thing, even if his memory was not all the way back. "You do know that I would marry you today, if we could." She told him, "That we only wait to give the people time to adjust to you an the changes you bring them. While the changes are for the good, they are so different from everything that came before." She didn't want him doubting in why, in case he did not remember.

"You do know that I would marry you today, if we could." He looked at her as she said this, knowing that it was not their lack of love for each other that kept them from marrying. While there still may be gaps in their shared memory, he could say with earnest that he was ready to marry her as well. Not because he saw the queen's jewels in his safe, or because she was who he was supposed to love based on what she told him . . . but because, he loved her. In one night he had seen a side of her that he had not remembered seeing, and developed feelings for her that he had never felt before. It was powerful enough to overcome a spell, even before her kiss broke it. There had been something there, and even if it took him longer than it should have to realize it . . . it had come. He kissed her the first time because it was his heart compelling him to. It was not just infatuation or lust, but something deeper and more sincere.
"I know," he told her honestly. When he had found that love they had discovered three years ago, he had also realized why they had not married sooner. That there was a reason preventing them from doing so. They were committed to each other in every other way; just not ceremonially binding. A lot seemed to be changing and it had been his decisions that would forever alter the traditions and customs in the kingdom. "I knew there had to be a reason we had not married earlier," he said, beginning to explain his thoughts and rational. "Especially when you asked me to think why I was not married to her already," he added with a smile, almost teasing her for her words. She had been talking about the woman he loved as if she was a third person, when all along it had been her. "From the way you talked of our relationship, and the way I felt about you, I knew it was not because neither of us were committed to each other." But rather, the reasons had been far more political.

When she had asked him that she had been thinking of how she had been a servant until he had won the kingdom back just not long ago. She'd been thinking about how his father would have not allowed it, and done everything in his kingly power to stop it from happening. Not because it was better for the beginning of his rule to not over whelm his people and their neighboring kingdoms. She didn't want to explain that one too him, for his relationship with his father was uncertain ground for her.
Her eyes drifted to her shoulder, before going back to her work, as she thought about cut there, and everything that had happened since. "I can't say that I have never loved another--" For she'd thought she'd loved Merlin and there was another man in her life for a time. "--But I can say that I have never loved another in the way I love you. That I've never needed someone with me the way I do you. It's something that I do not even know the words to explain; for it's not psychical--not just physical. It's deeper. More real then anything that I have felt before." She wondered if his memory had come back enough to remember the hurt she'd given him when he came to rescue her from Hingist. She hoped not, yet she hoped when it did he knew that it was a part of her, yes; but apart of her past.

He listened to every word she spoke, taking it to heart, knowing that she meant it . . . and feeling the same thing for her. She was the first woman he had ever loved, in a way that surpassed friendship or even a sister like bond. While she was not the first woman he had kissed, or the first he had gone on small dates with . . . she was the first one he had ever spoken of his love for; that he had ever said 'I love you' to. While he believed every word she spoke to him, he also knew what she meant when she said that she had loved another. That was why he could not erase it from his nagging mind. The vision of her with another man, and unable to understand what had happened. For she was once with Lancelot, and now he was here . . . how had they been separated? Had he asked her to leave him? No. He could not imagine himself ever doing such a thing . . . then again, he loved her.
Would he have taken it that far? Or had he just let them be? But then, what separated two people that loved each other? For he could not imagine ever distancing himself from Guinevère now that his feelings were so strong for her. He looked down at Bohrs in a thoughtful silence, wondering how to bring about the subject, for the way she talked about it made it sound as if they had spoken of it before. "Lancelot?" He said in both a question and a statement. After he said the name, he looked at her. Not accusingly, nor in a hurt way . . . but more so, out of genuine curiosity. He did not think the knight was a threat to him or his relationship with Guinevère, but his inability to comprehend what had happened was troubling him.
As she had said, their relationship was far deeper than anything else he had ever experienced. That it was not physical attraction that had initially drew them towards each other. That it was not lust which was what usually tempted him towards a woman. But, all that it was not based on, was why it had developed to something so strong; why it was so different from his relationship with anyone else. And it was not something so easily broken. Not from a king who wanted his son to marry for political gain; nor an enemy who wanted to put a queen of his choosing on the throne; not even a traitorous sister who tried to use something she would never understand, against them. And finally, not even a previous love which had seemed to become distant . . . for reasons unknown; for reasons Arthur was hoping to rediscover.

He asked her so many questions, with only speaking a word. Her eyes stayed on her sewing, even while she could feel his on her's. Not because she was hiding something but more from the reminder of the hurt she'd once felt when when Lancelot had felt her alone in the woods after they'd shared so much. She knew that it had been for the best, that she loved Arthur in a way she could never even begin to explain. Yet the hurt was there. Every day that Lancelot was here, she was wondered if it would be his last. If he would leave again as he had twice before.
"Yes." She replied, not sure how to give him the answers he wanted. she watched her sewing fora few long moments before she realized that she had forgotten to keep working on it, and her hands had grown still.
"I don't know how much you remember, but . . . . You would know him from before your memory got lost.-" stolen. "-He pretended to be a knight, and he was exposed and left the kingdom after helping protect the kingdom from some sort of large bird-beast. I had helped him and Merlin then. He left just barely a week or so after he arrived. The almost a year later, when I was kidnapped by Hingist and they made me pretend to be Morgana. . . He was there."
It was hard to tell him of her past relationship with a knight that now served and protected him. Yet she didn't want him to think she was hiding something. "He tried to help me escape but . . . I seem to always be the weakest part of any plan. I was caught, and we were about to die . . . . "
Finally she looked over at him, "Never did I think you'd show up to save me. I didn't think you'd even know where to look, and if you did you'd never be able to get close. When you showed up, I felt . . . " Euphoria that she would not understand until later. " . . . We all escaped, and we made camp somewhere safe, and when I woke up the next morning. . . He was gone." No goodbye. Nothing. "No one saw or heard from him again until he came with Percival to help you fight for Camelot just a few weeks ago."
She looked into the blue hues of his eyes. "I do not tell you this to give you reason to doubt, but to make sure you never doubt in me when it comes to my heart. it is yours." She wanted to break the mood just a little, "And Cabal's." She teased, as if his dog had won her over so quickly.

When her eyes did not meet his, he averted his gaze back to the half sleeping animal, scratching him behind the ears, though he attention was on Guinevère's words. She had begun by explaining the part of the knight that Arthur remembered: when he had been in Camelot, posing as a knight when he was not of real nobility. Ironically now, it did not matter. But he had still been shocked to have seen Lancelot when he had awoken to losing his memory. Only now, his curiosity was for an entire different reason, and she was slowly diminishing it by answering all his unspoken questions. He also remembered having warned her to tread carefully after he'd reached the conclusion that Guinevère had helped Merlin and Lancelot with the entire farce. He now realized -- and probably had realized it when his memory was in tact -- that it had been more than a friend helping a friend. That something had developed from that brief time he had spent here in the kingdom. Something . . . strong.
Arthur did not feel betrayed in the slightest, nor did he even feel angry upon hearing -- or seeing -- that she loved another man. It just made him upset with himself more than anything. He'd known -- he had to have known -- that he had no claim over her. That he could not ask her to wait especially that early on when that one kiss they shared was thought to be their first and last. But . . . it had hurt. To see that he had not been the one who's hand Guinevère had been holding. And to now, be the one she was committed to . . . would forever be an honor and privilege that he would never taken for granted. Yet, he had so many thoughts about it. Would she be safer with another man? Yes. Would her life be simpler? Yes. Would she be less hurt with another? Yes. And yet, the question was would she have been happier with him? At that time, Arthur -- and probably herself -- would have said yes, which was why he had stepped back. But now, hearing how much she cared for him, and how she spoken of the incomparable love she had with him . . . changed his answer. She may be safer, have a simpler life, and less hurt.
But he would put his hand on his mother's gravestone and swear that no man could love her more than he did. Even a love as strong as what her and Lancelot shared; Arthur felt it safe to say that no one, could love her with the same magnitude as he. Which is why he kept fighting for her, rather than letting her go . . . for he would have done that a long time ago. But he fought for something that was more than worth fighting for. And this was where it had gotten them: laying next to each other in front of the fire place. He could not regret anything, other than her having gotten hurt. While he'd hated to see the tears she cried over another man . . . and all that she had been through because of Arthur's high position in the kingdom . . . it seemed that everything, good and bad, had led them to this moment. To the present. Where they were speaking of marrying one another and just casually enjoying ones company. How could he regret things that led to this seemingly perfect moment?
Listening to her fill the gaps made sense, as various images somewhat flashed in his mind. Whether they were familiarity or his mind concocting illusions, he could not be certain of. Only that he could see what was happening, as she spoke about it. He could feel those emotions he had felt at the time. Immense fear over something happening to her; terrified of losing her; relief over seeing her alive; hurt over seeing that one simple embrace between her and the now serving knight . . . and then conflicted when witnessing her tears over the loss of another. So many different feelings those days had elicited. But they had moved past it now, and Arthur would not dwell in it. They had overcome so much, and if they were to dwell in every past event that created hurt in either -- or both -- of them, then they would make no progress in their relationship. After all, had they not moved forward from all the woman in his love, such as Vivian? While had never genuinely loved any of them, it was still a past. But to focus on the present, and their future together was what was important, rather than remaining stuck in the history of their lives when they had not found what feelings they possessed now.
When he felt her eyes on his, he looked at her, not wanting to make it seem like he was hurt. He softly smiled at her attempt to lighten the subject. "I would never doubt you," he assured her, speaking in a strongly confident voice. This lack of doubt in her was unwavering. And he wanted her -- needed her -- to know that. That even with Lancelot in such close quarters, he was not suspicious. He was not uncomfortable. Lancelot was still a brother to him, and Guinevère was still the woman he loved and trusted with every fiber of his being. "Well since I have to share you anyway," he began, as he lifted his hand from scratching behind Bohrs ears. "Call to him," he said, still softly smiling. Since she was bonding with Cabal, she may as well familiarize herself with Bohrs as well. Both were affectionate, and both were seldom apart from one another. Feeling the lack of scratching, Bohrs fully opened his eyes, looking up at his master in anticipation, as if waiting for him to resume petting him.

She looked back down at her sewing with a soft smile and a warm blush when he told her his undoubt was strong. She was glad! So very glad that he trusted in her, for she knew that some would not. Some would not feel so strongly about their loves having other men in their past. While Lancelot was part of her past he was a strong part for the emotions at the time had been new. He was her first love. Arthur was her 2nd and her greatest. He was also her last, for she could never imagine loving another as she did him.
She looked over at him when he told her to call to him, she looked back at the other dog. "He looks so peaceful." She told him as an excuse to let the other dog lie there. It had been the one who barked at her, and while she was over it she didn't want him to do it again. Besides, she was still nervous about them a little. Hesitant to let them get out of this unrelaxed (unmoving) state and into the uncontrolled hyper part again.

"He looks so peaceful." Arthur wondered if she was just saying that as an excuse. "Are you playing favorites Guinevère?" He accusingly teased, trying to bring the mood back to something less intense. Something less . . . potentially uncomfortable. They had spoken about it, and he truly appreciated her full honesty. But he did not want to spend their day together talking about another man. Better to speak about Cabal and Bohrs even. "Believe it or not, he is the calmer one of the two." Meaning, the one that acted more like a pup. He was always looking for attention and a good belly rub here and there. While Cabal had his moments -- such as right now -- he tended to be the one who was more consistently hyper. But of course, when the two were put together . . . they were energetic beyond belief. But that would not be the case right now. Both were far too mellow to suddenly burst up and start running around. They would get their rest first. Bohrs finally got tired of just sitting and waiting, and nudged Arthur's hand, letting out his tongue to lick his fingers a couple of times, attempting to convince him to pet him again.
Arthur did not comply. Instead he held out his hand towards Guinevère. "Go," Arthur told him, but not overly demanding. He had to keep a level tone so that the canine knew he was not angry with him. They were well trained and highly disciplined so Arthur did not wish to send them conflicting messages. Bohrs followed instructions. He rose to his feet, opening his mouth to yawn and took a few steps over, where he plopped down on the ground, next to Guinevère. It was clear he had noticed the affection she was giving Cabal, and was now waiting for the same thing. He put his wet nose on her arm, nudging her a bit before claiming the small portion of her lap where Cabal was not resting his head on, so that he could rest his chin on it, and get comfortable. Arthur grinned at seeing the two swarming Guinevère. "Now they will be impossible to get rid of," he informed her, knowing that if she were to stand and start walking, they would undoubtedly follow.

"I don't play favorites!" She told him in mock defensiveness! She didn't! She just was unsure as to where she stood with them. Unlike people dogs could just open their lips and tell her how the felt or tell her when she did something they did not like. . . . then again people could do that and most did not. Some even lied and pretended. Watching as the other dog came over to her she wondered if dogs were not easier to live with because they did not lie.
As Bohrs grew closer and lied his head on her lap, she felt her back stiffen for a few moments before she had to almost force her self to relax. Reaching out slowly, she put her hand on his head and moved her fingers to scratch his ears. He wasn't so bad, "That's hard to believe. Cabal has been so quite and docile." Bohrs had been the one to bark at her, but she knew that Arthur knew them better then she would ever. Being she had just been thinking of a bassinet, she could help but to ask, "And they are harmless? Even with children?"

As her hesitancy began to waver, Arthur regained his comfortable position, folding his arms behind his head as one did not have to occupy itself with scratching Bohrs behind his ears. Guinevère had now taken care of that. He chuckled a bit when she defined Cabal as docile and quiet. "He must like you a great deal. For he is usually the highly energetic one." Bohrs was the baby of them both; not in size or age, but in personality. He just smiled when she asked if they were harmless, even around children. "They are," he assured her. The wonderful mental image of their own children playing with the two dogs entered his mind. The animals were so large, they could serve as small horses to their children when they were slowly learning to walk.
"They are good protectors, loyal to their master. Or well, masters now," he corrected, officially declaring joint custody of the dogs. They were not only his now, but hers as well. After all, when they were married, all that was his would become hers. While he had a strong feeling she would not take advantage of the riches and gold that would associate that formal position, dogs were at least something that perhaps she would not mind sharing ownership of. They were sentimental to him, and all the more reason she would be one of the few that he would encourage to get to know them. As they were a part of his life and she was too: a very central part.

Even to children. The thought made her smile and look over at him for a few long moments before looking back down at the dogs she was petting. She could not see children playing with such hyper and large beast, but she also knew that Arthur could. Maybe with time she would learn to see it too, to trust in the beasts as he did.
She looked over at him for a moment before she stopped petting the dogs and picked up her sewing again. She had everything cut, and was starting to sew circles that would turn into the arms of the shirt. She enjoyed making him this while they just sat here and talked about nothing important. With him dressed un-kingly, and non of her old friends or 'servants' in here it seemed casual and almost . . . almost normal. If this was the first day of the rest of her life then she could not wait for more. At the same time she wanted them ti last forever.

When she resumed with her sewing, Arthur continued to lie on his back, and closed his eyes. He wasn't quite sleeping, but was just resting rather peacefully. Now that he knew she was well. While he caught an hour or so of sleep last night, it was far from restful. He was afraid to enter a deep sleep, for what if he woke up and she was gone? She must have had that same fear; closing her eyes without a guarantee of ever opening them again. But now, all was well -- apart from the looming presence of the sorcerer somewhere in the city. He could close his eyes, knowing she would still be there. Knowing the dogs would start barking if anyone else lurked around the room.
While he had not exactly been sleeping, the sudden knock made him abruptly open his eyes, though still done with ease. Unfortunately, it had alarmed the dogs even more. Their heads instantly rose and each one barked a couple of times. Arthur quickly stood up, looking at them warningly. "Down," he ordered them, not wanting them to cause a commotion when Guinevère was sitting there, with a needle in her hand and scissors nearby. They complied and while did not totally relax, were no longer making noise. When Arthur opened the door, he saw Gaius standing there on the other end. The physician looked at him, his eyes scanning the KING, down to feet which were shoeless and only clad in socks. Arthur had to look down as well to see what Gaius was looking at. Oh. Right. He was, a bit too casually dressed.
Yet Gaius withheld any sort of questions, though Arthur could easily see it on his face, with one of his eyebrows arched. "Sire. I came to check on Gwen," he informed him. He noticed that the physician had another small vile in his hand, wondering if there was another stage of the aftermath of the poison they needed to be wary of. "Of course," he answered, opening the door more and stepping aside so that Gaius could enter. He then closed the door behind him, granting the three of them with some privacy. Gaius ignored the two dogs and focused his attention on the woman in between them. "Gwen, how are you feeling?" He asked professionally, but also with a strong concern in his voice. While Gaius commenced his questioning, Arthur figured this would be a good time to finished getting dressed, so headed towards where he had thrown his belt, and grabbed his boots.

When the knock came and the dogs jumped up to bark, she dropped her sewing and pulled her hands to her chest, folded near her collar bone, as she pulled her shoulders closer to her. She wasn't really afraid, but she didn't want them to step on her or anything of the sort. Her heart was also racing as Arthur got up to walk over to the door. She did not know who was on the other side, even as her mind (once again) reminded her that dark evil forced did not knock.
Gaius! Her shoulders relaxed and as Arthur had calmed the beasts, she reached with one hand to rest it on Bohrs' back to make sure that he did not go closer and trouble Gaius. Standing slowly she smoothed out her dress before speaking; "Better then the day before." She told him, "Thank you, for helping me." She did not take it for granted that it was his 'job', as he still had saved her life.

Gaius took a few steps towards her as the king commenced putting on his boots. "You do not need to thank me Gwen. I am just glad to see that you're alright," he said with relief. "The medicine helped then?" He asked, making sure that the remedies were doing their work. He had made something earlier but he wasn't sure if it had a strong effect. She seemed to move with a bit more ease though, something that he was certain had changed since the morning.
While Bohrs stayed in place, under Guinevère's touch, Cabal was feeling a bit more restless, so made his way over to Arthur. Arthur, who was sitting on the chair not too far from the others, had his gaze focused on Guinevère and Gaius, listening intently to what they were saying, while trying to get his boot on. He had one on his foot, and working on putting on the second. That was when Cabal decided he would play a little game. Amidst the conversation, he felt someone grab at his boot, and turned to look at Cabal, keeping a first grasp on it, and trying to pull it out of his mouth. But Cabal was having too much fun. He kept pulling at it in the opposite direction. "Let go," he told him, but his voice was low, a bit of a harsh whisper and not very demanding, as he did not want to interrupt the more important conversation taking place. Because of the lack of authority in his tone, Cabal did not take it seriously. He let out a playful growl as his tail began to wag rapidly.
Gaius only glanced to the side at the scene, but he was professional enough to remain focused on Guinevère. "How is the pain?" He further questioned, needing to inquire about it to check if she needed more of the medicine, or perhaps even a stronger one. Everyone's body reacted to the poison, and with Guinevère being a bit small, there was a risk of the poison being absorbed more quickly.

"No pain, not like you mean." She told him since she wasn't in any real pain. The soreness from this morning was even gone. "I just get a little short of breath sometimes. Arthur's been making me keep still most he morning." She knew Gaius had known about them since the days that the Dragon had escaped. With her own father gone, Gaius was the type that often filled that role for her at times, though he was also more of a friend then father.
She turned her head as she heard a growl and gave a soft and small gasp that was almost soundless. However they were just playing. . . . the sight of Arthur playing with his dog made her smile. It was unexpected and very charming.
Looking back at Gaius with the smile on her face she just shook her head slowly as if to silently tell him 'what can you do?' before answering his question. "I feel almost like me, as long as I am not moving around allot. I was very tired this morning, and sore but with each hour that passes, I feel improved."

Gaius listened attentively to her describe her present condition. "Good. For it is imperative that you get as much rest as you can. The less active you are, the better. But if it is already this much recovered, you should feel completely fine in a few hours time." After knowing Gwen for so long, he knew it was not easy for her to just relax; she always preferred to keep busy. So perhaps it was a good thing she was confined to these chambers, any chambers really.
Arthur was trying to pay attention but was getting distracted by the boot thief! He continued to pull, but Cabal pulled harder. Arthur made the mistake of turning his head, taking his attention of Cabal for one second, and that was all it took. The animal with one large tug, yanked the boot right out of his hands. Arthur immediately looked to him, standing up from his chair. Even though the boot was in Cabal's mouth, he could tell that the dog was rather pleased with himself. He had 'won;. Or so he thought. Arthur leaned forward to try and grab it from him, but Cabal reacted. He arched his back up, putting the front of his body forward, as his tag continued to wag excitedly. Arthur folded his arms across his chest, giving him a displeased look to make it look like he had given up. He was trying to catch him off guard, but when he lunged forward for the boot again, Cabal was once again prepared. The canine let out a snort, and bounded over towards the bed, turning forward in the same arched position, waiting for his master to come and try to take the boot again.
Gaius turned his head to see what was going on. It was admittedly strange to see the former prince, and now king, act in his manner, but he knew that he had a immature side to him as well. Especially from what he heard of his interactions with Merlin. "I have this medicine here. If you are already feeling an improvement, then this should eradicate the pain permanently. Are there any other symptoms, other than soreness and shortness of breath?" Gaius asked, just to be sure there wasn't anything he needed to keep an eye out for. He just wanted to be sure this poison was not given strength with magic for if it was, it would require an entirely different remedy.

As much as she loved (upon loved) spending time here with Arthur alone, she wanted the ability to get up and leave if she needed to. So she could get her own books, and sewing, and supper. However, if one had to be trapped in a room, Arthur and his two minions were the best to be trapped with.
She was watching him with her eyes, even while her face was turned to Gaius' and she attempted to hold a conversation with him. Moving slowly closer to him, she held her hand out for the medicine. "Thank you, I really feel much improved, however. Will this make me sleepy?" She hoped not, for she had slept enough of the past few days away. She wanted to be able to enjoy being with Arthur, not wake up and be sorry she missed it.
She noticed that Cabal was playing with Arthur and she could not help but to be surprised by this new side of him. She could see him playing with children in this moment, and her heart grew and swelled with the emotion of that vision.

Arthur felt ridiculous. He was walking towards his bed with one boot on and one boot off . . . thanks to Cabal. Yet the dog seemed so very pleased with himself, and each step Arthur took closer to him, the more on guard and prepared to jump off to the side he was. Arthur gave him a mock glare, wanting to listen to Guinevère's condition rather than play a game of chase around his bedroom chambers. Cabal was going everywhere though. While he knew better than to jump on the bed, he was running under it. Arthur looked at Guinevère and Gaius for a few moments, before crouching down on the ground, looking under the bed. He saw his boot and the dog's eyes, but the rest of him was camouflaged with the darkness.
When she extended her hand, he passed her the vile. "It will only relax you. It should not make you feel drowsy, but rather, will release the pain and aches in your muscles." Gaius very briefly looked down at the other dog, wondering if he too was going to suddenly jump up and start playing. He certainly hoped not. Or that he at least waited for him to leave. "Did you want something to help you sleep? I can make it and have it delivered later today?" Gaius offered, not minding in the slightest to make a more suitable medicine, one that would help her get some rest.
Cabal sprung out from under the bed and ran towards Guinevère, now positioning himself behind her, as if using her as some sort of shield, or attempting to hide behind her. Arthur went after him, not quite running but rather walking at a hurried pace. He stopped when he stood in front of Guinevère and Gaius, straightening his shirt a bit, trying to look more suave . . . trying to pretend like they weren't witnessing the king of Camelot running after his boot. He looked between them, but could help but look down and shoot a glare at Cabal, before he looked back up at them again. He cleared his throat, deciding not to point out the obvious in that Cabal had one of his boots, and he was only wearing one. "Is everything alright?" He asked, deciding to focus on something of far greater importance than his shoe: Guinevère's condition.

"No!" She told him hurried before seeming to realize that it was a bit rude of her, "I'm sorry, but no thank you. I don't want to sleep anymore right now. I feel like I have slept the days away as it is." Besides, she had dreams when she was sleeping. The feeling of panic as she could not inhale had yet to leave her fully. While she was awake she could at least distract her mind from thinking on it. Let her mind think only on Arthur and his . . . doooggggssss . . .
Speaking of them, Cabal was bounding up to her. She stiffened for a moment with fear that he would bound into her, rather then past her but he did not. As Arthur calming walked up them them with a bit of a hurry she turned her head to look at him, "Is everything alright?" He asked and she just shook her head again as if surprised he was doing this, "Yes, Gaius was just giving me something to help ease any stiffness or soreness left over from the fever." She explained, she looked back at Gaius, "and I am very grateful for the medicine. Thank you again, Gaius.

Arthur kept his eyes on Guinevère as she explained the new medicine she received from their trusted physician. While one of his feet was still bootless, it was easy to focus on what she was saying, for her health and well being was his primary concern. More so than getting his socks dirty, or looking disheveled. Gaius looked at the prince in his odd state of dress and then back to Guinevère with a nod of understanding. It was not needed medicinally for something to help her sleep at night. It would have only been a sleeping draft, though not as strong as the ones he used to give Morgana. He turned to the king, as he addressed him. "I had Merlin running a few errands," -- Meaning he was trying to discover the whereabouts of the sorcerer and do proper research about the magical side of what all was going on. "If you need him, I can send him up for you."
Arthur thought on it for only a second or two before shaking his head. "I think we'll be alright, thank you Gaius." He wanted to spend the day with Guinevère, so he did not need to get ready to go anywhere. Merlin could just clean up whatever mess Cabal and Bohrs made, tomorrow. And he could polish his boots as well for after this little game initiated by his canine companion, they would need a good thorough polishing. "Let me know if I can get you anything else. Gwen, Sire," he stated as he turned to leave the room. He would at least have good news to tell Merlin, in that Guinevère was recovering well. Whatever the poison was, it had not been concocted by magic. Now, they only had the sorcerer to worry about.
Arthur saw Gaius out, thanking him once more before closing the door once the physician was in the hall and on his way back to his quarters. Arthur turned back around, half leaning against the door. This was when his gaze focused entirely on Cabal who was still hiding behind Guinevère. He took a few steps closer, and the dog did not budge. Maybe he knew that Arthur was not yet going to lunge for his shoe . . . not right this second anyway. He looked at the small vile in Guinevère's hand before his eyes met hers. "Do you need to take that now?" Meaning, was the pain bad enough for her to need to. Which meant, that she should sit, and maybe eat something; if not yet a meal then at least a snack.
