Humans. They were absolutely despicable. The way they socialized, their lack of hygiene, their dishonesty, greed, rudeness....really, Haldir was not a fan. And for him to converse in such a large group of them was not his most favorite pass time. But alas, they were here in Gwent and there was not much else to do, especially if he wanted to maintain a close distance to his Queen which was really the only reason he was currently out of the comfort of Mabon at this moment.
He walked into a tavern alongside Alistair while Dayton was escorted Maeve to her room. He was dressed in casual clothing, with a long red cape as there was no need to dress in his armor tonight. The front of his hair was braided back, hiding the tip of his ears while the rest fell straight, past his shoulders. Haldir paused in the doorway, looking at the sight in front of him. It was as if every judgment he had about humans was instantly proven upon taking one look at this crowd. They were loud, boisterous animals. No doubt alcohol was a factor in their uncouth behavior....but still. They were weak minded and looked ridiculous.
The only one he seemed to be able to develop a tolerance for was Alistair. And even then it had initially only been because the man had saved his life. Haldir may have pride but he was not one to ignore the efforts Alistair had taken to save him when they were strangers. Since then, despite their infrequent encounters, the druid was definitely someone`s company Haldir did not mind terribly being in. He regarded him as a closer friend than he admitted, for neither of them were sentimental people so there was no need to vocalize this unexpected friendship.
Seeing an empty table, Haldir began to walk towards it. He moved with grace and poise, in perfect posture with his chin slightly raised...this grace was clearly lacking in the room, but Haldir would never lower himself to their barbaric ways. He took a seat and though he may have looked at ease, he was completely uncomfortable. His expression was frozen in an almost stern look with subtle disgust only noticeable if someone was looking closely enough at him. His eyes scanned the room, very slightly shaking his head in disapproval.

::Alistair::
Alistair walked in with Haldir and felt just as out of place as he always did in large crowds. While he had grown better since both Vaughn and Isadora had taken strong rolls in his life over a year ago, he still felt unsure in crowds. He sat down at the table the feary had picked out and noticed him looking around. "Your going to get us in a fight, my friend. Try to think of something else."
Alistair had come to see both Haldir and Maeve as friends, while he 'visited' their home realm. Maeve because of her unwavering faith in everyone and everything (how to hate that?), and Haldir because he wasn't. Haldir was more down to earth (ironic), and Alistair could relate to the man better.
He had not seen Haldir in a few weeks, as he had been with Isadora in the woods, until just the day before. When he returned her to Gwent; he found Haldir and Maeve waiting for him. . . And Marc.

Haldir would have to stop staring. Alistair was right in that sense for the sensitivity of the human race could not be underestimated. And he really did not want to start what they would call, a bar fight tonight. He was not here for that, but nor was he here to have fun. He was here merely due to the fact that there was no one else to go, and that this was some sort of social protocoyl. Oh well. Every seemed to have consumed too much alcohol to notice that he may look a bit out of place. If anyone came to him, he would just do what he always did and pretend like he does not speak English.
He turned his gaze forward, looking at Alistair. Such barbarism. He commented, as if Alistair would not have already taken notice. Anyone who was sober would have taken notice of the foolishness dominating this room. What was the point of this? He would never understand. Do you usually attend places such as this? His comment was not meant to sound judgmental, even if his previous one was. Alistair did not strike him as a crazy, go out and act like an idiot, type of person. Of course, he did not know the man well enough to make specific assessments of his character and what he did to pass the time.
