Sasha had gone for a walk and was just returning. It was evening, but to be specific, it was twilight. On that walk she had explored the city of Camelot, ressurecting old memories and doing a bit of sulking about them. But in the end, it had been worth it.
The Lady Sasha had gone alone, so she could concentrate better. In those times when remembering things of her past she needed to be alone and focus. Just completely focus.
She could see the castle from where she was in the city, and she studied it for a moment. Perhaps Arthur would still be awake. She hoped he was, because she wanted to talk with him for a few minutes. Then, she set off in it's direction. Hopefully it wouldn't take long, she hated being out at night in civilized places.
Just exiting the city, she felt as if someone was close by. She hated that! She had good ears, too. She heard the normally soundless footsteps coming from... somewhere. She couldn't tell where. They also didn't sound in any way threatening, where as someone who wished to both her would walk a certain way... so that calmed her a bit. Sasha still wanted to know who it was though.

Merlin was actually just returning from a small store in the lower towns. He had needed to buy more lye so that he could wash Arthur's clothes overnight, as he had run out just the other day. With the bottle tucked safely in his pocket, he had was making his way back to Gaius' chambers, where, he knew, he would spend the next several hours just washing the excessive clothing that the Prince always had. He was beginning to wonder how so much needed cleaning! He had thought that the majority of the Prince's day was not spent inside his room!
Arthur had released him from his duties for the night, having no more need of him. After all, there wasn't much more to do after a whole day's worth of doing things. Of course, there would be plenty more to do in the morning, and Merlin would, once more, wonder exactly HOW such a thing could possibly happen over a single night!
So, walking through the silent streets, Merlin had no clue that someone else was nearby. He felt no danger, so he didn't feel the need to keep his guard up, even though it was twilight and all sorts of people with bad intentions, cutthroats and criminals and the like, usually only revealed themselves at this time of day... night?
So, he would continue walking, his head down, not paying any attention at all to anything that he was doing. He could have walked into a wall, something else, perhaps one of those bad people that might be lurking about, or even the other person that was out at this time.

Sasha kept walking. Until the castle was in plain view. That was when she noticed a silhouette in the distance; the one who's presence had been nagging at her. It looked like a male figure and by that she became a bit wary. Again, she knew there were men with bad intentions lurking around so couldn't so quickly push that fear aside. . . but she also felt that she had seen him before. Oh well, chances were that she had. Sasha just could not place the name. And the fact that she didn't feel he was a threat convinced her even more.
To be completely honest, Sasha had been out trying to find answers to things. Her relationship with Arthur was taking a strange turn. Of course Sasha would never bring it up, as they were not even a proper couple, but she was sure they shared feelings between one another. At least she did, quite strongly actually. And perhaps he did too? They had shared a few intimate moments in the past. Sasha hoped he did. The problem was that they seemed to not be speaking as much as they used to when she just considered him a friend. And her little wanderings had not been successful; she still felt she had no answers to anything at all. Ugh, she hated this feeling. She felt as if they growing apart or something of the like, and because he meant so much to her she did not want that to happen. Desperate, you might say. Embarrassing.
Getting very close to the man, she recognized him but still could not put her finger on his name. She had seen him with Arthur many times, but had never really spent any time with him. Nor had ever been properly introduced. It was rude of her to forget someone's name, but it had just simply slipped her mind. Giving a faint smile, she caught up with him. Yes, another one of her rude and playful moods. Sasha knew she'd startle him, but she hoped he wouldn't take offence. Or maybe he wouldn't be? She wanted to find out. Sneaking up soundlessly, she spoke as she walked a few feet behind him, "I by no means want to startle you, sir, but. . . I cannot quite place where I've seen you before."
Gosh, that sounded so unlike her. Maybe it was just the feeling that she had the opportunity to possibly startle the man? Huh! Well, whatever.
[ This post will teach you the meaning of late O.O Also, do you mind if I change the timeline to after the episode where Arthur stays in Gwen's house? ]

Merlin didn't pay attention as he walked. It wasn't a very good idea most of the time, but he was fairly confident that no harm would come to him this night. That wasn't always a possibility however, and this night was just like that. Well except for the fact that he was not in "danger". Or at least, he didn't think so. So along he walked, not paying much attention. And so, when he heard a woman's voice, he jumped just a little, probably rather noticeably.
"N-no," he stuttered, "It's okay, I wasn't startled. Um, you've probably seen me with Arthur, I'm his manservant, Merlin." he held his hand out to shake, a friendly gesture and one showing his neverousness. He believed he saw her around also, and also believed that she was a noble. Merlin couldn't hide a slight blush from stretching across his face. "D-do I kn-know you, by any chance?"
[ lol it's okay. And go ahead! !! Sorry if this is small, I'm posting on a phone ]

Sasha saw the man jump a little bit when she spoke. She felt kind of bad for that. "Pleasure to meet you, Merlin," she smiled and friendlily shook his hand. Yes, that was his name! Merlin. She had definately heard before; his name was the key piece. Merlin queried Sasha if he knew her by any chance. "Well, maybe you've seen me with Arthur," she answered gladly. She missed the feeling of meeting someone new. The feeling she had endured all too many times durig her travels, even while growing up.
Where you were just learning new things about that new person, and it was usually always interesting to hear what they had to say. For her, anyway. Yet Merinw asn't really a total stranger, she had seen him around and even acknowledged his presence more than once. That was how she knew that this would be interesting on her part. These thoughts were flying through her mind in a matter of seconds, and so almost forgetting to state her own name, "Um. . . I'm Lady Sasha, a friend of Arthur's," she added while becoming slightly nervous.
