So much had happened in such a short amount of time. Between the initial entrance to the kingdom of Camelot he'd thought something would go wrong. His mentor, another Druid named Cerdan, had simply told him it would be fine, all they were doing was getting supplies then going back to camp. That trip for supplies had taken a turn for the worst when the shop keeper had apparently sold them out. There were guards he remembered. There was running through the Citadel, and he'd remembered pain. An injury to his arm. He'd gotten the attention of a serving boy, although that lad was not an ordinary man.
The man, he'd known immediately as Emrys had taken him to hide in the chambers of the King's Ward. He'd passed out at some point and the rest was a haze until he'd been treated for fever. As soon as he was well enough the Druid boy was to be taken out of the kingdom. The plan had gone so well. That is until they had been caught. Mordred was more terrified then he ever recalled being in his life. He'd certainly end up like the man who had grown to be a fatherly figure to him. He'd be executed and knew it. What was his crime? Being a Druid. Being a practitioner of magic.
Mordred was beginning to under stand how it was to feel so many emotions. There was terror at what was to await him as he was dragged into a holding cell, and thrown in unceremoniously. There was anger as well. Anger at how he could not simply leave. And there was hate. Hate for the king. The man had clearly been in a wrong state of mind for longer then he had been alive. To outlaw magic was not jest no matter the king had declared. And he was curious. Curious why the king was so bitter towards those with magic. Some people were born with it, and that was not their fault.
He felt as if he deserved the chance to talk to the man whom had certainly ordered his head to be cut off. It was only chivalrous to be granted such a wish, he was certain. And hadn't that been what knights and the nobles of Camelot prided themselves with?
