Raieyana was like any noble woman. She loved festivals! She enjoyed getting dressed up and socializing with others. With her in-laws strict regulations, she did not get many opportunities like this so when they did arise, she took full advantage. Plus, it was always a great delight to dress up Melodie who was getting older every day. Her baby girl was already four years old and despite the hardships associated with raising a child by oneself, she adored her daughter more than anything and anyone. Even to the point of making sure she was ready first. Melodie was dressed in a pink dress, with a crown of flowers in her curly blond hair, and white shoes to compliment her silver bracelets. A precious doll indeed. Mothers often bragged about their children, and Raieyana did not stray from this norm.
As for herself, she was dressed in a light blue, almost mauve color with no sleeves though, with the strong insistence of her in laws, had a matching shawl to cover her bare shoulders. She wore her hair in a loose braid, with ran down her side, her neck void of any jewelry, say for a few silver bracelets on her wrists. The final touch was a silver band that she wore around her head. And with that, she was finished with her outfit. Of course a touch of makeup here and there and other necessary accessories completed the outfit and with a final look in the mirror, and one last inspection of her daughter, she picked Melodie up in her arms and rode off to the city.
They were formally invited to a knighting ceremony. As Rai's late husband had been a knight, they were often invited to these sort of functions, reserved for nobles within Camelot, sometimes even extending to other kingdoms. The ceremony had proceeded nicely, as Lancelot became Sir Lancelot of Camelot. It was always nice to see another man of honor be commended for it. As any knight ceremony, the evening proceeded with food and drink, and talking to other nobles of sorts. While Rai loved the feeling of being in a crowd, she despised the sympathetic looks and words she received from others, as they sent their condolences her way for the death of her husband. It had happened years ago, and people still expressed far too much sympathy. She watched Melodie from a distance as a few of the children were watching a court jester perform magic tricks. At least her daughter was having a good time; that was the most important thing. And in the meantime, Rai held a glass of wine, and watched the crowd around her.

One day at home, she received a message via carrier that she was requested at the castle along with her mother to be present for her father's presentation of a medal of chivalry and his loyalty to Camelot. Lisa nodded to the messenger and gave her thanks and she smiled. After opening the letter she realized what the man had said was indeed true. And she would be staying at the castle for the week prior to the ceremonies to help prepare or to help prepare herself and join in meals with the royal family and to receive special privileges during this week.
All of this was in the name of her father's recieval of the award. Her father had gotten a couple of these. And she would be glad that she might be able to see her childhood friend Raieyana as she heard that she had come for the cermony as well.
For since she arrived, she hadn't been able to see her much because each time she went in search of Raieyana , she found that she was on an errand here or there.
She got up and was greeted by the Lady in waiting that was assigned to her. The woman's name was Indred. And she had been helping guests at the castle for years now. She was glad to have help but she missed her own Lady in waiting Anna which had been with her basically since she came back a year and a half ago. She nodded in response to the Good Morning. "Good Morning"She said as she looked to her.
After she saw the curtains drawn back and opened she got up and went to the dressing curtain and saw a dress had already been picked out for her. This was a relief...Normally, she would have to call Anne to come back and help her...Which was sometimes a pain, but she was family after all so she didn't complain. Putting on the light blue satin gown, she nodded, "So what is on the agenda today Indred?"She asked curiously.
Indred looked at her and smiled. The young woman she had been assigned to for the week was a joy to work with and assist. She might even switch over and be her lady in waiting for good. She heard that Lisa's own lady in waiting was getting old and they were looking for a new Lady in Waiting for her. She smiled, "I would be honored.."She said as she smirked a little.
It would be a nice change...Indred thought and since she was free to serve whomever she pleased, the reason being she wasn't bound to one person as their lady in waiting. She was basically a freelance till she was requested to help out a royal visiting the castle.
Indred was 33 years old and went with Lisa to the dinning room,"My lady there is no set agenda for today, however; there are celebrations tonight and then the ceremony tomorrow for your father."She said to her.
Lisa looked at Indred and nodded."Thank you. "She said as she rounded the corner to bump into Raieyana and she backed up suddenly. "I am so...Sorry...."She curtsied a little bit and smiled, "Its good to see you again."She said as she looked at Raieyana. When she finally saw whom it was she smiled a little, "Raieyana!"She said smiling as she hugged her, "It has been too long."She said to her friend.

Raieyana was distracted when someone suddenly collided into. Thank goodness the impact of it had not been enough to spill her drink. It was such a nuisance to try and get wine stains out of dresses! She kept a polite smile on her face, more so when she saw who it was that had bumped into her. Now Rai was not enough of a prude to be irritated by an accident. Instead, she reciprocated the friendly embrace by putting her arms briefly around the other woman when she hugged her. "Lady Lisa," she greeted, still softly smiling. "It has indeed been far too long." And Raieyana blamed her over bearing in laws for that. Of course, she could not very well say that in public.
Apart from the reason being that they were here as well, and could possibly hear her...it was also just plain disrespectful to speak negatively about her deceased husbands parents. They had after all taken care of her, and her daughter. "How have you been faring all this time?" She asked her, rather relieved to see a familiar face. One that would not be judgmental towards her.
