Uther was dining with his current guest. She was a princess herself, but exiled in a sense, no longer a claimant to the throne of her country, Kentura. Only her mother was royalty, her father had been a knight of Camelot, and her mother had fled here after the breakup of the marriage and to avoid being executed for her affair. Uther had been a bit annoyed to learn of the knight's affair; it wasn't entirely honorable of course. However, Uther did know quite well what love did to young men, and as long as her father remained loyal, he wouldn't drive him out of Camelot.
Lisa's father had fought well in a recent battle, and was to be commended for it later that day. For now, they ate and Uther did his best to be polite.
"I do hope everything is to your liking."he said.

Lisa nodded to Uther as she sighed, "Yes, everything is to my liking."She said as she looked at him. "Your highness, if I could speak to you after about a letter I just received from Kentura...I kinda need your advice on the matter. After dinner...Not now of course."She said as she looked at him as she knew what she was talking about wasn't much of a dinner topic. Espicallly if it was to commend her father about his service at war times.
The dinner they had was delicious and she smiled as she walked with Uther to his study chambers."Your highness..The letter that I received is that I am to return to Kentura and assume the thrown...My father ....The king has not told anyone otherwise that I am not his daughter. Just on a extended visit to Camelot"She said as she looked down.
"Yesterday, around noon my father....I mean the king's closest adviser came to my house before we arrived at the castle and told me that it was my duty to return to Kentura to assume the thrown since the king is dying..."She said pausing. "I don't want my father's kingdom to loose his trust or to let a dying man's 88 year legacy fall to the wayside just because of an incident that was out of his hands."She said to her."I am sorry ...I just don't know what to do..."She said sitting down finally.
"There is one part of me that wants to go back and do this but the other half wants to stay away..."she said pausing.

Uther listened as she asked if he could give her advice. At first, she chose to hold back until they had finished their meal, and Uther had agreed. After they had finished eating, he waited, knowing she would begin to tell him what she was wondering about, and she did indeed. He listened, mostly quiet, as there was much she had to say. She was concerned about accepting her own place as ruler of a kingdom, now that her father had contacted her.
"I can understand your fear. Ruling a kingdom is no easy task, and it can be very frightening. I grew up prince of another land, and conquered this one, but I recall how I felt as I went about beginning the true task of ruling, after I had established my claim as king. But, if you believe in yourself, and do your best to uphold confidence in your abilities, and ensure that you have adequate counsel with those who truly have your kingdom's best interest in mind, you will do fine."It was prudent not to trust anyone easily, even one's closet friends, but no one ruled without advisors, and Uther valued good ones like Gaius, even though he wasn't an official advisor.
"I believe that those of us who are born royalty are born with a duty to our lands."he said."I believe that the only honorable path is to accept your place on the throne. Duty to one's kingdom is the most important thing of all for a ruler; it must be placed above all else. Your people look to you to follow in your father's footsteps and protect the kingdom as he did before. I do not believe you should let your father's legacy die with him."
