Raieyana was in a furious mood. So furious, it had caused her to storm out of her home. Correction. Her in-laws home. With their overbearing controlling selves, it seldom fell into a place that Rai felt comfortable in. Her daughter on the other hand loved it, which was part of the reason she stayed as oppose to returning to her true home. And what was waiting for her there? A neglectful brother? No. Raieyana felt displaced; like she belonged no where. And being in one of her moods, she did not look at it as a way of having two potential homes; but rather, having no true home. No place where a husband would give her the company that she so desired. Nor a place where there would be a father to help raise her daughter. Instead, she had a father in law and a mother in law, both of whom insisted on taking her daughter to a feast they were invited to. Yet, did not seem to want to bring Rai to. Oh yes. It was infuriating indeed! She had stormed out of the estate in a raging fury, and had just kept walking, and walking, and walking.
Until she was utterly lost. She had left a little before the sun set, and now it was completely dark. She had the whole night to return home. But she was not oblivious to the many dangers that lurked in the woods, especially at night. She had nothing to provide warm to her bare arms and was feeling the cold night air bite at her skin. She had a band around her head which kept her hair in place, so even being in this state of fury, she tried to maintain somewhat of an appearance. Either way, she hated being in this position! One of anger and now fear. One where she had lost control of the situation and did not know left from right. But she refused yet, to break down and resort to an eye full of tears. Instead she would keep walking, keep hoping and keep - wait, were those footsteps she heard? She looked around in every direction as she froze. She was no hunter, but the silent air made it rather easy to hear another set of footsteps wandering nearby. And this, made her freeze in trepidation, though she continued to put on a brave face.
She needed to do something! And that was when she noticed a rather large stick, and picked it up, holding it in front of her defensively. She was not physically strong, but this was the only weapon she could find; her only way to defend herself. If she could at least get one good swing in, then she would be able to make a getaway! It would give her at least a bit of a head start if nothing else. And of course, there was the possibility that whoever was there, was completely innocent. And, if she dared to be even more hopeful and optimistic, perhaps they would go as far as to point her into the general direction in order to exit the woods. But for now, she was prepared for the worst. "Who's there?!" She called out in a demanding voice, trying to mask the fear she felt in a tone that came out rather bold, if she did say so herself. She only hoped that it would last and that was solely dependent on who, or if, the lurker revealed themselves.
