It was a rather nice change to be in the city. Her in-laws had decided to visit court, and she had the opportunity of going along with them. At least it got her out of the estate for some time, as she was able to meet a variety of people. It was only the first day but she had wanted to get an early start, and with the sun beating down, and the business of the city streets, it felt absolutely perfect. She even managed to sneak out before Roger and Dyana insisted that she get a shawl to cover her bare arms. Not today. Instead, she was dressed comfortably in a sleeveless, lightly colored gown, her hair loosely tied in a braid and a band around her head.
The only thing that would add to the perfection of today was if Melodie could join her in this stroll. But she was letting her get her rest, as it had been quite a long journey and the young infant was not used to traveling such distances...even though she had been so excited every step of the way. So for now, she just leisurely strolled through the streets, stopping occasionally to look at some of the materials that various vendors were selling. She stopped in particular to look at some rather nice pieces of cloth. Nothing that compared to the exquisite material that nobles could afford and that was ordered from different places in the world....but still, it had a quaint charm to her and it was enough to intrigue the noblewoman.
She decided not to purchase any at the moment and after a few prolonged moments of looking, decided to press forward. She kept walking, until she saw something that forced her to pause. It was a stake. A stake that was being prepared, and she knew from the gossips of others, who it was getting prepared for. A young hand maiden, accused of using sorcery. Further more, it was the king's ward's personal maid servant. Really. How could someone who worked in such close quarters to the king be so reckless as to use magic, and enchant the prince! It was utterly ridiculous. Though at the same time, it was never easy to see someone burn. Which was why Raieyana was going to make sure that she, nor her daughter, would witness such a heinous act. Still, she could not help but stop and stare as servants and guards gathered small bundles of hay which they placed around the stake, so that she would burn. It was disturbing, and enough to cause a cold shiver run down Rai's spine.

Marian was horrified! Oh dear, Oh dear oh dear indeed! She was standing in the covered walkway watching as the men built up the towering pile of wood that would be used not to create something but to destroy! This was no the city she dreamed of visiting! Her aunt had begged her not to stand out here and watch but Marian could not keep her self away. When she dreamed of Camelot it was of a white castle that towered over the trees for miles like a beaken of hope.
It was of a city rich with activity and bustling people! Their were parties and glittery balls with dashing nobles and hansom knights! She knew that the king was strong ageist magic but knowing it and seeing it were to vastly different things! How did one plan to kill another? Marian was a romantic by heart and it broke her's to know that it was a love story behind this. She wasn't sure how, but she had heard the whispers and knew that everyone has casting blame to a servant girl.
Marian had meet the girl once and had felt safe rather then shy around her! How did such a girl get mixed in with magic? Where was the knights that were supposed to be heroes? Didn't servants get heros too? Marian noticed a noble woman walking, but could not see her face. Taking a few steps out of her hiding place behind a pole she walked over hoping to be brave enough to speak to her and learn what was going on.

While Raieyana stood there, just staring, lost in thought over the traumatic events that would take place soon, she noticed from the corner of her eye another woman. She did not look at her right away however. She kept looking straight ahead. Perhaps, she was here for the same reason she was. To contemplate the incident that had yet to occur. To feel a strange sense of sympathy towards the girl, though Raieyana did not fail to recognize her stupidity of using magic so close to the king. Ridiculous. The sooner this would be over, the sooner everyone could move past it. And hopefully, learn from it. Though it seemed people never did. There had been many examples set for people to understand magic was unacceptable. How hard was that for people to live by? She folded her arms across her chest, as she felt another cold chill, though felt the need to hide this eeriness.
Eventually, after several passing of moments, Raieyana spoke. "'T'is a shame," she said in a tone that did not over display much sympathy. It was more of a causal statement, one that showed Rai would not lose any sleep over this, but nor was she cold enough to not feel an ounce of regret for the servant. Again, the sooner this happened, the less people would have to look at this awful stake. Once Raieyana spoke, she turned her head a bit to look at the stranger. She was a noblewoman. Without a doubt. Her attire and the overall way she carried herself made this much clear. Well that was ironic. Another noblewoman lamenting over this soon to be execution. She turned her head forward again to look at the abundance of hay. "Some people just never learn," she added, shaking her head. She almost felt a bit of anger towards the servant, for putting herself in this position, and then for others having to fall witness to this punishment. It was a dreadful thing; to watch someone to burn.
