Things had gone smoothly as John rode though hills and vallies surrounding Camelot. He had gone through these roads numerous times. They were not stranger to him. Although he was to find someone ...A person named Gwaine to help him on the recent task to recover an artifact from an nearby kingdom. He knew from experience, that Gwaine was somewhat a magnet for trouble but a good person none the less.
He heard to that he was an drinker and that he would most likely be found in a bar in one of the surrounding villiages or townships. He took the assignment as he had nothing better to do at the time. Arriving in a village called Desan, it was there he heard fighting from a nearby tavern and he sgihed as he went over to the tavern and he got off his stead and went inside to investigate. Since it was not Camelot, the authority he had as a knihgt was not vaild here.
So he would have to make sure he kept his head high and nought get into any mischief while he was here or on the road to thier destination. He would be able to get out of such situations if need be, but he rather have not to resort to those type of tactics since there were only one of him against the numbers he might be facing if he did encounter any trouble.
Walking into the tavern he ducked as a glass was thrown towards him and he glared as it shatered above his head as he looked for the culprit as he saw a man who was fighting with others at the moment seamingly over a saturated bottle of wiskey. He walked over to one of the men surrounding Sir Gwaine and he touched his shoulder....Bad Choice.
As he had no time to react to the outcome, John felt himself Clobered in the cheek and he was kncoked down. Getting up he took out his sword."In the name of the King ...This stops here...Now"he said with authority soudning in his voice.
Glaring at Gwaine as well he saw the hulligans disperse and he sighed, "You must be the infamous Gwaine ...I hear so much about...Truth?"he asked as he looked at the man infront of him.

Gwaine had managed to find himself in yet another tavern. It wasn’t a particular favourite of his as it was always a little rough around the edges. However, he had acquaintances here so he could always be sure of a free drink, so what was not to love about the situation? He was stood up near the bar with some particular favourites of his, they were always good for a free drink, not to mention a few coins when a game of cards was in session. Gwaine knew all the tavern tricks, in his eyes he wasn’t being completely dishonest, he wasn’t blindly robbing men, but he had to eat after all didn’t he?
Sinking his lips into his drink Gwaine felt a nudge from the man to the right of him and he looked round to where he was pointing. A well groomed man had just entered the tavern, just from the way he walked and acted Gwaine could tell he wasn’t from around here. Gwaine set his tankard down on the bar and watched as the man dodged a glass being thrown at him. He winced and stepped forwards, he had no quarrel with this man, and so would see as little harm done to him as this tavern would allow.
As the man was hit to the ground Gwaine couldn’t help but grin, this man really had a lot to learn about tavern etiquette. It amused him, he could imagine Merlin doing something similar, and Gwaine would have been expected to get him out of such a mess as well. Gwaine pushed past the man who had hit the stranger and extended his hand to him to help him up, “Sorry about him. Its true what they say; ale is the devils drink.”
He stepped back and held his hands up mockingly and half cocked a grin. The men around Gwaine backed off slightly as although ale was like fire in their bellies, none of them were armed and so they thought better of it. Gwaine however stood his ground, this tavern was like his territory, and he would not be dictated to in it. He folded his arms as the man requested his name and he raised an eyebrow at him, “I might be. But that depends on who is asking my friend.” Gwaine unfolded his arms long enough to take a swig of his drink before resuming his previous position. He was not usually sought out, he wasn’t in one place long enough to be sought out anywhere, not even his own family ever looked out for him.
