She was not only a wife now, but a queen. It was daunting to think of, but she planned to do her best. Arthur and herself had moved past that horrid night from months ago, and now they had nothing but years of love to look forward too. Years of laughter, and joy, and if they were lucky . . . children! She hoped for a son. Though she knew that it might take him, she would look forward to spending the free time with Arthur.
Guinevère had not left his side since he'd placed the crown on her head. It was Arthur's mother's, and he'd had the stones in the crown replaced with purple ones, knowing it was her favorite. It made her feel beautiful in her new dress, and on his arm.
They were touring the room, and speaking with everyone who had joined them. Though, she did find one question was asked to her from many of the daughters of the knights. Her brother. They all wanted to know more about the man who was now the most eligible bachelor in the kingdom. Guinevère would smile and try to encourage them to go speak with him, and she hoped that was what Elyan wanted. She wanted him to find love.
So when they were near Elyan, Guinevère let Arthur go for the first time, so she could step forward and kiss her brother's injured cheek. A gift from Morgana's men, and Guinevère never failed to feel her heart hurt for what happened to him. What Morgana had done to him! She didn't want to hate anyone, but she found Morgana was easier to hate after learning of what she'd done to her brother!
Today was not a time for thinking on Morgana. It was a day of life and love. "Hullo big brother," Guinevère said softly, stepping back slightly to take Arthur's hand again, looping her arm though his.

It was a surreal event. His sister was Queen! His baby sister was now the most important woman in the land. He couldn't begin to express how proud he felt. She looked so beautiful in her crown, it was like it belonged on her head for it fit her perfectly. He knew he'd never get used to this, seeing her in grand dresses like the princesses from the stories their mother told them as children. He knew Arthur and Gwen had waited a long time for this, and after everything they had been through together, Elyan truly thought they deserved it. They deserved all the happiness in the world.
Elyan was also acutely aware of the position his sister getting married to the King put him in. He had spoken to a few ladies, who never would have given him a second...well he knew he was quite dashing so maybe third glance before today. They were all very beautiful... very beautiful indeed. But after seeing the happiness his sister had...he wanted that, not to go off with some pretty girl with a head that might as well be filled with air. But he wasn't protesting at all, he was a man after all, so naturally he was attracted to many of them, and it didn't hurt to have a few conversations with them.
He watched as his sister came towards him and placed a kiss on his cheek. It stung slightly from the cut Morgana's men had so kindly left on his cheek. It was probably going to scar. He felt the little boy in him become slightly happier at the thought of an actual battle scar. "Hullo big brother," he heard her say, Arthur's hand now in hers. "May I offer my congratulations little sister," he said with the biggest grin on his face. "Congratulation to both of you, I would hug you now Gwen, if we weren't in such a crowded place." He then decided he didn't care and proceeded to sqeeze the air out of her. Earning them many looks from the crowd around them. When he left her, he looked over to her side. To the king...his brother in law. "I'd like to first and foremost welcome you to our family, if my father were here he'd say the same." Oh how he wished his father could witness this, he'd be so proud. "We are now finally brothers, in the truest sense of the word, Arthur."

Arthur had not left Guinevère's side for a moment. He was so proud of her today, and wanted to spend as much time as he could by her side. Whether it was to make her feel more comfortable, or just to feel that pride and honor of having the most beautiful and kindest woman in all of Albion -- of all this world -- on his arm. On his own coronation, they had not been able to be like this. But now . . . they were married. They were together in every sense of the word and he did not want to pretend otherwise. They had spent years pretending they were not together, but now . . . there was no more of a need to do so. The entire kingdom knew that the king had chosen his wife. And that she was now the queen of Camelot. As any formal occasion, they were to meet and greet as many guests as they could. It was something Arthur was fairly comfortable in doing, but he was aware of how new this all was to Guinevère. But she was doing remarkably well, even in this new crowd of people. Never the less, he was grateful that she was able to see someone who would give her more comfort and peace of mind: her brother, Elyan.
Arthur smiled, as she embraced him before returning to his side. However, when Elyan stepped forward to hug her properly, Arthur moved his arm out from Guinevère's and turned a bit to the side so that he would not get in the way. He ignored the looks of others, knowing that it did not matter right now. As nontraditional as everything was -- from a commoner becoming a knight, to a blacksmith's daughter becoming the wife of the king, and queen of the kingdom -- he expected a few people to stare and whisper. But he would not let it phase him. This was all new, and would certainly take some getting used to. The people however would have no choice, but to acquaint themselves with it. For this was the way it was to be for the rest of their time. Arthur's smile grew a bit, the easily detectable pride and joy on Elyan's expression; happy for his little sister. Though they had not quite talked about it, Arthur knew it couldn't have been easy for Elyan to have his sister banished from the kingdom.
A decision that Arthur could not regret, but one they had moved past from. He and Guinevère had both decided to move past that night. Never to speak of it nor hold it against one another. "I'd like to first and foremost welcome you to our family, if my father were here he'd say the same." Elyan never failed to say the perfect words to swell Arthur's heart with honor. He was very much like his sister in that way; knowing what to say and exactly how to say it. To hear now, that Tom would have welcomed him into his family . . . meant more than Arthur was capable of expressing; more than words could say. "We are now finally brothers, in the truest sense of the word, Arthur." They had spoken a couple of years ago about a future of Arthur marrying Guinevère. He knew the conversation could have gone either way, and was just so grateful that Elyan had proved to be one of the most honorable and understanding men Arthur had ever known.
"It is an honor, and privilege to be able to call you my brother. I thank you, for welcoming me into your family." For accepting the relationship without Arthur having to fight yet another person to prove his love for Guinevère. He had fought his father, Morgana, so many other people . . . Elyan had been willing to give Arthur a chance, and this was not something he would ever take for granted. "I am truly blessed to have the greatest woman by my side as my wife." He looked at Guinevère for a moment with a smile, then looking at Elyan when he finished his thought. "And the most honorable man by my side as my brother." A truly wonderful family, and Arthur only wished that her father could have been here. To know that he at least would have approved -- according to Elyan -- meant so much. And also caused Arthur sadness that he could not say the same about his father. For he knew, that his own father would strongly disapprove of all this, as he had made it well known to all.

"May I offer my congratulations little sister," She liked it when her brother called her little sister, for it was a reminder how they were. How Elyan would always be her big brother and her his little sister no matter what happened in this world. "Congratulation to both of you, I would hug you now Gwen, if we weren't in such a crowded place." She wished he would! She was his sister before she was a queen, and noth---He did hug her! Guinevère held him tightly for the span of the hug and it only made her smile brighter and the day seem more complete! "Thank you! The day feels truly complete with you here with us, Elyan." She told him, loving that she had her family back with her! All together again!
"I'd like to first and foremost welcome you to our family, if my father were here he'd say the same." Which left Guinevère beaming with joy at her brother's words! She liked to think their father would have welcomed Arthur with open arms, but knowing that Elyan felt the same made her feel better about thinking it! Arthur was a good man! A very good man and everyone could see it! For some reason, he'd picked her to love! Their love had not been easy or untested--and not all tests had she passed--but their love was stronger. They'd moved past everything to find this joy in each other.
"We are now finally brothers, in the truest sense of the word, Arthur." "It is an honor, and privilege to be able to call you my brother. I thank you, for welcoming me into your family." their family now! They were three! And if she had her way, in a few months or a year's time they could be expecting to be four! She wanted a family! She wanted to be a mother. She only hoped that it was in the plan for their life. Arthur wanted children as well, it was just a matter of trying.
"I am truly blessed to have the greatest woman by my side as my wife." Which never failed to make her brother, "Arthur," She said his name in a teasing warning! She'd asked him a few times not to make her blush today, knowing that her face turned shades of pink and red--just as she knew he took pride in making her blush, and loved it when he did so. "And the most honorable man by my side as my brother." Yet his words made it up to her, for he was saying good things about her brother. "Speaking of being at the king's side . . . " Moving her hands to hold Arthur's, she dropped her voice a little lower, "Many of the ladies today have asked me about my brother." Whom was now the 'catch' of the season.

"I am truly blessed to have the greatest woman by my side as my wife." Elyan took a moment to look at Gwen, his beautiful little sister. He was so proud of her, she had done it! She had beaten all the odds stacked against her and she overcame all the trials she was put through. She had married the King even though she was a servant. Elyan knew that if anyone could go through everything Gwen did and come out as Queen, it was his sister. She deserved love more than anyone he knew, and he was just glad she finally got it. He noted the slight blush on her cheeks, she was still modest it seemed. "And the most honorable man by my side as my brother." He couldn't stop the grin that appeared on his face although he was certain he looked like a child who had gotten his favourite toy. He couldn't help it, it was a wonderful compliment that he was so honoured to receive from the King himself, although he was his brother now. When would he get used to that?
"The honour is all mine, brother." He delibrately used that term, just to try it out. He had never had an actual brother before, it had always been just him and Gwen. But if he could choose anyone to truly be his brother, it would be Arthur, and now...he was. "Speaking of being at the king's side . . . " Where was she going with this? "Many of the ladies today have asked me about my brother." Oh. Great! his sister was teasing him, he could tell. He cursed himself as he felt a blush on his cheeks. He wasn't going to let her get to him. "I'm sure they have, I am quite dashing aren't I?" He quickly tried to change the subject, and spoke to Arthur. "Good luck with Gwen, I'm sure you're going to need it." It was his turn to tease. He sincerely hoped they fell for the change in subject. But if his past with Gwen taught him anything, it was that she never gave up.

Arthur could see the pride Elyan had for his sister, and the honor he felt upon Arthur's words. Both of which filled Arthur when Elyan spoke of how the honor was his, even calling him brother. The word was not difficult to adjust to. For he had known Elyan for two years now . . . and was now rightfully, legally, a part of his family. He smiled when Guinevère began to speak of the ladies questions that they had pertaining to Elyan. Arthur was not surprised by the questions they had. As the queen's brother, he had captured the attention of many noblewomen at court -- even more so now than before when he and the other knights were new. Their intrigue and fascination for him had grown . . . but that did not mean Arthur wished to partake in such things. It was a woman thing; he would leave all that to Guinevère. He could give his thoughts of certain women at court -- speaking of which family she was from and such -- should any capture Elyan's attention, of even Guinevère's for her brother. But Arthur was not going to play matchmaker. He was a man! Men did not play this role.
Clearly, that was what his sister was for. Unfortunately, he did have to hear it. Listen to the women giggle as they asked about Sir Elyan. And that was only because he had not left Guinevère's side. Never the less he had smiled politely and didn't mind hearing her excitement over the thought of her brother finding a wife one day. So now, it was far more amusing when the teasing was put on Elyan, which caused Arthur to even let out a small chuckle as further expression of this amusing situation. Even more so that Elyan played into it and then wished Arthur luck with her. "You're on your own with this Elyan. I am not getting involved in your sister's determination to find a suitable lady for you," he said, just humoring the situation. He knew that Guinevère only wanted the best for Elyan, and for him to find happiness in companionship. As she did for the others -- such as Merlin, whom they had spoken about in the past. But it made sense that she wanted it particularly for Elyan. As he was her brother, and she most probably wished to welcome a sister into the family.
"Good luck with Gwen, I'm sure you're going to need it." Another smile of amusement formed on his lips, enjoying the small sibling teasing between them. The way siblings should be. They should be caring toward each other, teasing, playful . . . so many things. Things that he and Morgana were not. But he would not let thoughts of her dampen this joyous day, so did not find it the slightest bit difficult to keep a sincere smile on his lips. For he was happy with his current family. "I should be wishing you luck. For I doubt this is a subject easily forgotten," he added. A phrase meant to be teasing toward both Elyan and Guinevère. He turned his head to give an innocent smile to his wife. Everything felt so casual; so . . . normal. And normality was certainly not something that Arthur was used to experiencing. Especially when it came to his relationship with Guinevère. For there was always a complication, a barrier, something to cause tension . . . but not anymore. And he was basking in this time of finally finding much deserved peace for them.
