How far everything had come. It wasn't the first time she'd been banished, but knew this time there was no coming back. No waiting for Arthur. How could be he apologize to her? She'd hurt him so much. She didn't even know why! One moment she was happy and the next she breaking every vow she'd ever given him! What sort of person did that?
Guinevère was packing her bag, and trying to make sure she took the important things, and left what she could not live with out. She did not have anything to remind her of her father but this house. There was nothing left to remember him by.
She looked toward the window and noticed that it was not dawn yet. Soon, she would have to be leaving. She knew that she would want to be out early enough that no one saw her. Even planning that she half expected her brother to come by. Or someone. She wanted to say goodbye, even if she didn't want to see them again. Picking up her mother's comb, a gift on her mother's wedding day.
Guinevère felt tears on her cheeks. Her mother would be so ashamed of her! Her father too! She wanted to go somewhere where no one knew her! Where she could hide from hearing about Camelot. She loved this kingdom so very, very much but she knew--SHE KNEW--that when she heard of the king taking a wife it would hurt a million times more then this. It would break her.
It wasn't her first time being banished, nor the first time she'd lost him. It was just the last . . .

Alistair was not happy with her as they hurried through the dark city streets, but she knew they couldn't wait. She had spoken to Arthur, trying to change his mind about banishing the woman he loved forever, but he was so hurt and angry right now. She feared he was making a mistake he would come to regret when it was too late, but despite her best efforts to convince him to cool down and take time to think, the young king would not be swayed. And she had to say goodbye to Gwen before she left at dawn, meaning that now was the only time. Alistair didn't like that they were going out so late at night, but as always, he did as she wished.
Since Alistair insisted on escorting her here, it meant the youngest member of their family came, too. Sabina was bundled up in Isadora's arms, blinking in the darkness and wondering why they were wandering around in the dark. She was rarely without one of her parents nearby when they were in Gwent, let alone in Camelot. They didn't speak on the way to the little house by the forge, trying to avoid notice by any unsavory characters. When they arrived, Isadora rolled her eyes when Alistair opted to stay outside, leaning against the wall by the door and folding his arms over his chest like a silent sentry, glaring away any other unwanted visitors.
She knocked on the door somewhat hesitantly, glad to see through the window that the candles were still lit. She had expected that she would be up, given that she'd only been given a night to make herself ready to leave her home, but she was glad she wouldn't be waking her. She still wasn't sure what she would say...but she knew she had to come. Even if all she could offer was her condolences, or her help packing up, she wanted to do something for the woman who was supposed to have become her equal.

Guinevère heard someone knock on the door and she slowly put down everything and stared at it for a moment. She knew Arthur was not a curl man, but the fear of someone standing there to force her out sooner was still there. Silly she knew, but after the actions of this last night she still felt very foolish. Idiot! Fool!
Walking over slowly to the door her hand touched it and she paused. What if it was Arthur? What would she say? Would begging mean anything to him? She had to try didn't she? or at least apologize?! Would he believe her? How badly she'd hurt him!
Opening it she . . . . saw the last person she'd expected to see. It was enough that she was greatly unsure of what to do for a few long moments. How to act or even what to say. Guinevère just ended up watching her with surprise, covering up the broken emotions that filled her. She didn't miss the baby in her arms either . . . .
Something that only broke her a little more inside.

For a moment after Guinevère opened the door, Isadora just returned her stare. Her cheeks were stained with tears, her hair and clothing askew, Isadora had never seen the other woman in such dire straits. She had tried to convince Arthur not to do this, not to send her away, but to forgive her. Whatever she may have done...it wasn't worth the heartache it would cause both of them to be apart. Isadora knew firsthand how terrible it was to be separated from the one you loved, and she could never imagine going through that again, particularly not voluntarily.
"Guinevère," she said, again finding herself at a loss for words as she looked into the other woman's surprised brown eyes. Words wouldn't come, for what could she say? Looking into Guinevère's eyes, after having spoken to Arthur and seeing his pain as well, it was enough to break her heart. "I...I am so sorry." It was the same pathetic thing she'd said to Arthur, and she knew it wasn't enough. She saw the hurried packing behind her, thing hurriedly moved into crates and boxes, and she knew she might not be able to help with the pain...but she could help with other things. "Is there anything I can do to help? There must be so much to do...."
