.:Name of Character:. Tegan ò Mordha .:Nick Name:. Just Tegan's fine. It's only two syllables, shouldn't be too difficult. .:Age:. appears to be about twenty. .:Race:. Fae .:Status:. Nomad
| ~ • ~ | Appearance | ~ • ~ |
.:Physical Appearance:. Incredibly slight of stature despite her height, Tegan has incredibly sharp, defined, yet distinctly feminine features, one of the last few remaining signs of her heritage. Her eyes are a steely grey, and her hair is, for the most part, a platinum blonde. She has been known to magically alter the colour quite frequently, but only when not in areas that look down on magic. .:Height:. 5'10" .:Portrayed by:. Alaina Beaton

.:Personality:. Tegan is oftentimes quite immature, acting more like an undisciplined child than a centuries old being, and carries an air of innocence about her...until you can draw her out of her shell a bit. She's a bit naive to the ways of the world at large, and has a tendency to speak out of turn, which has nearly gotten her killed on several different occasions. She's incredibly flirtations towards either gender, and often pushes the bounds of propriety, nearly to the breaking point. Despite having a sharp tongue and wicked temper, she is good at heart, and a very peaceful individual -- unfortunate propensity for verbal sparring notwithstanding -- doing anything in her power to provide aid to those who need it. .:Strengths:. Persuasion, the ability to talk herself out of tight situations, physical attractiveness, and the magic she has learned over the years. .:Weaknesses:. Dependence on magic, lack of physical strength, immaturity, a tendency to be impulsive, and not thinking before she acts. .:Magic Abilities:. She has mastery over several spells, though the majority are more showy than effectual. The exceptions being her ability to cast powerful illusion spells, and strong [though often brief] telekenisis. .:Special Skills:. Perhaps not exactly a special skill, Tegan is incredibly lithe, possessing agility and grace beyond the norm. She's also immortal, the last scrap of inborn magic she's managed to retain. .:Accents:. A soft, but thick Irish accent which she's learned to hide over the years. Unless taken incredibly off guard, or with someone she trusts deeply, she'll use a learned English accent. She still speaks the language of her people, though she hasn't had anyone to speak it to in years.

.:Birthplace:. Mabon .:Family:. N/A .:Occupation:. None. Though she will pose as a bard from time to time, or take on other odd jobs. .:Current Location of Residence:. Nowhere in particular. She's been a wanderer for a good many years now. .:History:. Alas, it's a bit difficult to give a decent history when the one telling it can't quite remember. Being a fae, Tegan was born immortal, presumably in Mabon, the land of the faeries. Unfortunately, she's grown so old that she can't quite remember the beginnings of her own story, which until recently, hadn't bothered her at all. The most vivid memories are the most recent, as is often the case with all types of creatures, but some of her fainter memories recall a great time of peace and prosperity among her people. Not that they've ever truely known war, per se, but as humans stopped believing in the ways of the Old Religion, and the Old Gods, the beings associated with them began to suffer. Their numbers began to dwindle, as did their natural power, and many fae took to wandering, looking for ways to save their people and themselves.
As the outside world began to turn away from magic, natural magic became a precious thing, and many of those who still practiced would hunt down those beings who possessed it, seeking to harness their powers for themselves. It was that fate that befell Tegan, as she had the naivety to practice her magic in front of a mortal sorcerer, who used his powers to strip the fae of hers, including her ability to return home without the aid and invitation of another faerie. He left her weakened, likely presumed dead, and for several years, she was absolutely lost, not knowing what to do without what she considered to be her birthright. It was an incredibly sobering experience, blow only softened by the discovery that she was able to adopt a new type of magic; the art of spells and incantations. The same arts that stripped her of her powers also served to -- in a way -- return them. For the years spanning then until the Great Purge, she continued to wander, but with renewed purpose, learning all she could, practicing and honing her spellcasting.
As years passed, to her great relief she realised that she lacked the physical signs of aging that humans were so susceptible to, despite her deprivation of her race's natural magic. She still clings to the thread of hope that someday her powers may be restored, and she can return home properly. If she'll even have a home to return to, by that point.
