No Hard Feelings

Mithian was smiling and talking with one of the nobles whom had traveled with her for this trip as they discussed the dangerous times that Camelot had recently and how well the young king had done to not only claim his lands back but to find the aid of a sword that could restore faith in his people and fight magic. She had thought him loveable and kind when she meet him, but she had not known he would do this magnitude of greatness. Though why she had not seen it then, when this was not even the first time that his half sister had done such things was beyond her own mind.

Purposely waiting until he was alone for a moment, Mithian excused herself and walked up to him. It was surprising easy to smile and not hold her embarrassment against him, for at least he had been honest with her rather then lie to them both. It has been such an embarrassment to return to her father, but knowing that he had been honest and had spoken of love for another she had done her best to make sure that her father thought it was mutual rather then the king did not wish her for his bride. "My lord," She greeted, not bowing her head more then a nod for he was a king and she was a princess. Yet she also did not want to hold the difference over him, and evoke any hard feelings or things that might bring an awkwardness between them.

Throughout the next several days there would be many feasts so long as the visiting royals and nobles remained in Camelot. And it was for a worthy cause as well . . . for all were here to celebrate Guinevère's coronation. He had pushed aside the past and at long last, Camelot had a proper queen. Not one who was going to plague the kingdom with a reign of tyranny . . . but a woman who would be the best suited queen ever imaginable. And the woman that Arthur loved above all others. Yesterday, he had not left her side for a moment. Today, they were separated. Mostly because others demanded their attentions that they had just slowly drifted apart. His eyes would search for her in the crowd every now and then to make sure she was doing alright. He knew all of this was very new and very overwhelming. As he had promised her many times in the past, he would be here every step of the way to support her. "My lord." Arthur turned to see Lady Mithian in his presence. Mithian.

His guilt for what he had put her through had not diminished. He had led her on far too much; troubled her by bringing her here, promised her family that he would be her husband, got along with her rather wonderfully for she was an incredible woman . . . but in the end, he couldn't do it. He knew that they had a connection and had things been different, they could have been happily married. But even with the pain of Guinevère's betrayal, Arthur would have rather not been with anyone than someone. He'd rather live a life of solitude then commit himself to another woman. He just wished it had not come at the expense of another woman. "Princess Mithian," he greeted, lowered his head in a bit of a bow. He had called her princess before, but was unsure as to what feelings she harbored for him . . . considering their last interactions. "I am honored that you were able to attend the ceremonies." His wife's coronation . . . slightly awkward. But never the less, his words held truth.

Mithian knew this could be hurtful and awkward for them both, but in effort to ease them from the hardships of their links histories she smiled at him and keep her head high. She'd been more then humiliated, she'd been disappointed that he had found another. She had grown to like him, and had looked forward to the years she thought she had to get to know him and form a life at his side. yet he had found another to love, and she rather he be honest then to lie to them both and begin a life with her when he would not feel about her the way she had started to feel about him.

"I am honored that I was invited to attend." She counted knowing that if her kingdom had not received an invitation to a queen's coronation then it would be a slight to them rather then an offering of sparing her feelings. "I could not stay away when I was receiving the chance to see what sort of woman could make someone speak so highly of her." Knowing the conversation needed to move to his new wife before they could step over the awkwardness and on to other things. "And after hearing of the troubles Camelot had so recently faced, I wanted to come in case more aid was needed." The burning of crops and homes might have done more damage then the kingdom could repair.
