The banquet hall was laden with flowers laden with ribbons, and servants scurried to and fro getting everything ready for that night. It was the King of Gwent's seventy-fifth birthday celebration, and Isadora was going to make sure that everything went off without a hitch. She'd already seen to it that the kitchens were preparing his favourite dishes, and the nobles who had travelled from every corner of the kingdom were greeted and settled into their guest quarters appropriately. Everything was going well so far...except for one minor detail.
Isadora hadn't selected entertainment for the night yet. She'd seen all the local performers and decided none of them would be appropriate for what she hoped would be an event to remember. Her father had never enjoyed clowns or jesters, but he did like music, so she'd been trying to find a songstress or a musician who would be able to keep the guests entertained and who would be able to impress her father.
She'd heard good things from a friend that a certain Graecian noble was an adept musician, and she had arranged to hear him play this afternoon. She sincerely hoped he proved to be what the celebration needed, because the other act she had lined up hadn't quite impressed her, but they would have to do if the reports of the musician's talent were exaggerated.
Isadora was seated in the throne room, next to the large, ornate, yet empty throne that belonged to her father, speaking to one of the servants about changing some of the floral arrangements when his presence was announced. She smiled towards the noble man and nodded graciously. "Welcome to Gwent, Sir Alex. I hope your had a pleasant journey?"

Alex was siting in the royal garden of his home. He was boring a lot. Nothing else was taking place these days. His friends was busy with taking part in a tournament, and his lovely princess was away for a couple of days. Was away and his sister Loucia, and he was alone now!
Some men shook his calm of the day, announcing his that Princess Isadora wanted to play with his violin, for the seventy-fifth birthday of the King! At least! Something interesting! "Of course and I will come! Just give a moment to take my violin." answered, and went into his home. In some minutes was ready, and they began for the Kingdom of Gwent!
The destination was lovely, but Alex was thinking what song will win the "ears" of Princess. They arrived to the castle, which was a enough big castle, and some servants show him the way to the throne room. There was Princess Isadora waiting, and welcomed him, with a very friendly greet. "My journey was lovely Your Highess! I hope not kept you waiting a lot. I have learned that you are beautiful, but I didn't wondering so much" said and did a little bow!

Isadora smiled when he confirmed that his journey had been nice, and at his added compliment as well. "I'm glad to hear that, and thank you, you are too kind." She answered easily, Isadora was used to receiving compliments, so she never really took them to heart. You never could tell whether someone actually meant what they said or if they were just trying to win you over for their own gain, so while she tried to be gracious of compliments, she was careful not to let them go to her head.
Waving the servant with the floral arrangements away, she got to her feet, taking a few steps closer to the visiting noble. "I've heard quite excellent things about your skill as a musician, as well. I hope I won't be disappointed." She raised an eyebrow, but she was still smiling. She gestured to the instrument in his hands somewhat curiously. "I'll admit, I've never seen an instrument quite like that before. What do you call it?" She was a well-educated lady, but there were many things she regretted she'd not seen or heard of before. Whenever she encountered something new, she let her curiosity get the better of her, and a musician with a strange talent certainly qualified.

Isadora's answer was very kindly, but Alex could understand that she receiving many compliments. So his compliment was one of them. But now he did not care about the compliments, but to impress her with his music. He was there for this reason.
The kind words of the princess, made him swell with pride. He didin't new that he was famous and in other kingdoms. "Thank you for your kind words, Your Highness." answered very kindly, with a big smile in his face. But after the young princess's words surprised him. He took a serious but friendly look, and solved her question. "Your Highness this is a violin!" and showed her the violin. "It's a traditional musical intrument in my country."

She smiled sincerely when he accepted her praise, inclining her chin just slightly. She listened with interest as he told her the name of the instrument, a violin. She'd seen plenty of stringed instruments before, of course, but never one quite so fine and intricate. If they were so popular in Graecia, she might have to see about purchasing some and seeing to it that a few performers of Gwent learned to play. Only if they sounded as nice as they looked, of course. She'd just have to hear Sir Alex play first.
"It's a beautiful instrument, Sir Alex. I hope it sounds as nice as it looks." She said, before she gave him a meaningful look and a nod that he could start playing whenever he was ready. She was looking forward to hearing it, and she was hoping against hope that his strange violin would be just the thing that the celebration tonight needed. She so hated to be disappointed. "Well Your Highess, I will start with a tradiotional song in my country. My King always order to me to play it!" He explained, and brought the violin to his shoulder. He grabbed the bow and after he had taken the correct position, he starts playing. He knows that in these jobs they mustn't wait a long. He should be quick enjoyable, and above all good at his job.
Now silence prevailed in the room, and was hearing only the sound of the violin. Alex like all times, he was back on the violin without giving importance to the rest room. Whenever he played the violin he was feeling more beautifully than ever. Always gave his best. And it also affected his music. How sweet melody came when he was happy. He played a little part of the song, and stopped. If Princess wanted to hear more or something different, she was going to ask him. He bring the violin next to his leg, and looked to Princess Isadora.[/blockquote]

The music was, to put it simply, breathtaking. Isadora had never heard anything of the like, although she'd heard string instruments before, this sound was unique, somehow cheerful and upbeat, while carrying darker undercurrents, and she knew after only listening briefly that this was the music she ought to have played tonight.
The song itself was upbeat, and reminded her of her people, of the markets of Gwent, of freedom...and as the song went on, she thought of the forest. The trees, the rivers...but perhaps most hauntingly, the wild things that dwelt in them. And not just the animals. It sent a pang of longing through her, and she swallowed the lump that was rapidly forming in her throat, glancing down as her eyelashes fluttered to banish the tears that threatened to form. It wasn't a sad song...it shouldn't make her feel this way.
By the time the music stopped, Isadora had regained control of herself. She looked up to the musician and smiled brightly. "What a marvelous talent you are, Sir Alex. You do your kingdom proud! And we shall be proud to hear you play tonight at my father's birthday celebration." She wanted to hear more of his music...but perhaps now was not the time. She snapped her fingers at a servant standing nearby to attend her. "Arrange guest quarters where he can rest up before and after his performance, and see to it he is supplied with castle livery." There was so much brilliance in the princess’ grin; it filled him with hope that finally he would tonight he would play for her, her father and her population. He retaliated with a big grin but it was also a bit silly. As soon as he heard this splendid compliment his face turned a little red. As much as he liked to give compliments, he also accepted them with great pleasure. “My princess, what can I say, you make me bless you. I thank you despite a lot!”
He found it very fascinating that this evening he would play. He wanted to jump from his joy other natural and him it made! He had all the time when he would be only more late to make it. Alex had this habit to behave like a child at certain times. “Thank you very much Your Highess! I hope to see you later.” He made a light curtsey, gathered his violin and followed the servant who had waited for him. As he left he observed how big the room was. When he had come in. Something along the lines of Alex not realising how big the room was when he first went in, but when he left that's when he saw how big it was.
On the way he observed the walkways and the people. His servant was telling him some things about the celebration which was going to take place. He was sometimes listening to him and sometimes not. He was just flirting with young ladies. As they arrived they saw the room was perfect for him. He put his violin in a safe place and his servant filled with goblet of wine and brought some fresh fruit. Alex gave him permission to the servant to leave and after he walked to the window to enjoy the view.
Thanks Roz for the Edit!
