Well, the fact that Elyan didn’t want an apology shouldn’t have surprised Gwaine as much as it did. As usual, Gwaine was trying to make the best of a worst situation, and as usual his efforts were being completely underappreciated. He didn’t really appreciate this one bit, he had only been trying to help, why shouldn’t the man apologise to Elyan? He was wrongly accusing him of sleeping with his wife. If it had been Gwaine, the least he would expect would be an apology. “Well it should have been.” Rang Gwaine’s somewhat childish response. If Elyan wasn’t going to take this seriously enough then neither would he. Gosh, some people were so hard to please sometimes, it wasn’t his fault that this situation had arisen, if it was either of their faults it was clearly Elyan’s. He should have told him that he was in hot water with one of the locals, at least then he could have worked around it. Gwaine still would have insisted on a boozy night out though.. hmm... he decided that it was probably best not to mention that to Elyan, he probably wouldn’t be impressed, not that he seemed impressed by anything Gwaine did at the moment. He could imagine Elyan and Iwan forming an ‘We’re not impressed by the many antics of Gwaine’s mind’ sort of group. Iwan would defiantly suit something like that.
When Gwaine wasn’t rambling verbally, his mind was usually rambling, and this only got worse when he had a drink or two. Elyan’s words finally snapped him back into the present and he just looked at his fellow brother. Oh right yes, the fight. Now he could hear the roar of the crowd again as he looked up at the man in question. This wasn’t going to be pretty and Gwaine was sure of it. The man hadn’t gone down after his little tricks. Hmm, that was annoying. What was the point in having these amazing little tavern brawl tricks if they didn’t work when you really needed them to? Maybe he was just too drunk to use them effectively, that could always be a point. It didn’t take Gwaine too long to realise what Elyan was getting at and he mimicked his brothers moves until the man was flat on his back. This was there chance, “Shall we get out of here?” Gwaine asked, looking across at Elyan with urgency, the crowd was roaring, but Gwaine just wanted to get out of her, like right now.

Elyan was beginning to get the impression that Gwaine was getting a little annoyed about their troublesome predicament. But it wasn't like he was the only one. It was Elyan's life that was being immediately threatened here. But he came to the conclusion that maybe he shouldn't take out his anger about getting punched in the face on Gwaine, since he'd gotten hit too. Now wasn't really the time for arguing, now was the time for them to work together and get out with their heads still on their necks if they could, which would of course be preferred. He did quite like his head. Elyan shook his head slightly, thinking the ale must have seriously had an impact on his thought process. Another reason why he probably shouldn't have drunk as much as he did, but it had seemed a good idea at the time.
He was glad Gwaine caught on to what he'd been implying. He'd been afraid that he'd be too drunk to get it, since Elyan wasn't the only who'd had too much ale. He was relieved to see the man finally flat on his back, but knew he wasn't going to stay like that. “Shall we get out of here?” Elyan took one more look at the man on the floor who was already beginning to get up. "Yeah, I think that would be a pretty good idea." He took another look at the man who was disoriented but half way up. His eyes wide he grabbed Gwaine by the arm. "Come on." He ran out of the room and into the main part of the tavern which he realised wasn't quite as noisy as the room had been, which had been filled with roaring people especially after the fight started. He spotted the door and ran through it, feeling the cold air hit him like a wave. But as soon as he was out the only thing he could think of doing was laughing out loud. He couldn't help it. "Did you see us in there?" He said with laughter still in his voice.

Gwaine wasn’t in the best of moods that this stupid man had caused an abrupt end to his evening. They were knights of Camelot, surely that meant that they were entitled some degree of respect? He supposed that respect had been the last thing on the mans mind, he had only seemed intent on making both Gwaine and Elyan pay for whatever Elyan had done with his wife. Gwaine was disappointed in his friend for many reasons, one was that he hadn’t been doing anything with the mans wife in the first place. What was the point in being accused of something you hadn’t done? Might as well do it and get it over with, he might have even enjoyed himself. Gwaine couldn’t really grasp this situation though, and that probably had something to do with the alcohol, so it would be advisable for them to leave sometime in the future. Gwaine just looked around him, this would probably be one odd blur in the morning, perhaps putting his head in some cold water would help him wake up in the morning. One could dream.
He was glad that Elyan decided that he was right, and that they should leave. Gwaine didn’t really want to stay here and just get beaten up by this man, it wasn’t even his fight. Though he supposed it sort of was as the quarrel was a false accusation against one of his brothers, and he was bound to protect his brothers as much as he was bound to protect the citizens of Camelot. Still, Gwaine didn’t really want to get into a full blown fight in the state he was in at the moment. Therefore when Elyan grabbed his arm, he just followed the man, ducking out of the way of angry drunks who had now been robbed of their fight. When they were out of the tavern, Elyan could finally see the funny side of what had happened, and found himself just collapsing into laughter as well with his brother. “Any other big, brutish men you’ve upset before we head back to the castle?” He asked inbetween his laughs, “Just so I can prepare myself this time.”

The ale must have really gotten to his head because he couldn't seem to stop laughing at their ridiculous situation. It seemed he wasn't the only one though, Gwaine was laughing too. He'd just gotten a punch to the face yet he still laughed, and so either that was a totally normal reaction or they were both marvellously drunk. Elyan would probably have to go with the latter, judging by the way he was still swaying and the fuzziness in his head. He listened to Gwaine's words and grinned at him before actually thinking for a moment. “Just so I can prepare myself this time.” He paused for another moment before hesitantly replying. "...no, wait." There had been...no. "Nah, I don't think there's anyone else, but I guess we'll have to wait and see."
The part of Gwaine saying that they would head to the castle hit him then. "Wait, you want to go back to the castle?" So soon? "But the night has only just begun, there must be somewhere else in this city where we can have a bit of fun." The ale seemed to be really getting to his head. He lost his balance again but this time he didn't regain it fast enough and walked backwards until he landed on a pile of hay. "Gwaine!" he yelled as soon as he landed and he stuck his arms out ahead of him expectantly like a child. Well he was stuck after all and who'd want to spend the rest of their lives living in a haystack? Maybe goats would but Elyan was hardly a goat. Maybe if he grew a bit of a beard he'd look more like a goat, then living in a haystack would be more appropriate. But alas he didn't have a beard yet so he'd have to stick with living in the castle. He vaguely noticed that his train of thought had gotten slightly messed up after drinking more than his fair share of alcohol, but that wasn't important right now. It seemed the lack of adrenaline that he'd been full of during their breif fight in the tavern left him in a more drunken state.

This was one of the more eventful of evenings in the tavern hat Gwaine had had since coming to live in Camelot. Though the tavern was usually a lot of fun anyway, nothing could compare to some of the experiences that Gwaine had had on the road, and in the taverns across Albion. Those were the nights when you could find a beautiful woman, get drunk, and fear for your life all in one night. Those had been the days, and he had been worrying that Camelot was getting a bit dull. However, this was an amazing night. Gwaine couldn’t stop himself from laughing, though the pain from his face would probably start kicking in in the morning. That, along with the fact they had training tomorrow meant that Gwaine would defiantly soon be feeling sorry for himself. He ran his hand over his face, and looked back at Elyan when he replied to him and nodded. Well, at least he wouldn’t have to worry about anyone else trying to punch them because Elyan had been eyeing up their wives. To be honest, Gwaine was still quite disappointed that Elyan hadn’t actually done anything with the woman in question. “Well, we don’t have to worry about anyone else then do we?” It was mostly a statement, but also a question, because Gwaine knew he had people who would probably want to beat him black and blue, they just weren’t in Camelot.
Gwaine was quite shocked that Elyan wanted to continue the evening, given how well everything had gone so far. However, Gwaine knew, annoyingly, that they would have to get back soon because otherwise they would both regret it at training tomorrow. He was about to voice this to Elyan, but he wasn’t by his side anymore. Gwaine blinked, and just looked around him, “Elyan?” He was incredibly confused, well that was until he heard Elyan shouting him from where he had fallen over. It was very ungracefully done, and Gwaine couldn’t help but laugh at his friends predicament, he stood over him, his hands on his thighs and smirked, “Need a hand?”

Elyan had been totally honest when he'd said they'd have to wait and see. The brute wasn't the only man or rather person in Camelot that he wasn't on very good terms with. He'd just usually make an effort to avoid said people at all costs. It was sometimes rather difficult and like today it didn't always work. But now he was ridiculously drunk so who knew if they came across someone who didn't particularly like Elyan. “Well, we don’t have to worry about anyone else then do we?” He looked at Gwaine and raised his eyebrows slightly; maybe he shouldn't really answer him. He just shrugged his shoulders. "Well you never know who we might see Gwaine," he said pointedly. "For all I know we could get another punch from some other brute who hates me." It was rather depressing, so many people in Camelot wanted to punch Elyan. It wasn't even his fault most of the time. He decided to pout as a visible display of his displeasure of everyone wanting to harm him in some way.
He waited patiently in the hay making no move whatsoever to help himself out. No, that would be Gwaine's job. That's what friends were for after all, right? “Need a hand?” He gave Gwaine a puzzled look. It seemed Gwaine must be more drunk than he was. "No," he began. "I've already got two, see." He proceeded to wave his hands at Gwaine, just to make his point more clear. "I just want you," he pointed at Gwaine patronisingly, "to help me out of this." He then stretched his arms towards Gwaine expectantly. Like he'd thought before, he wasn't a goat so by default, of course he didn't want to live in hay for the rest of his life.

Gwaine was starting to realise that taking Elyan anywhere was a risk. How could one man be hated by so many angry, fist happy men? It was fine being hated by some people, well it wasn’t fundamentally, but still you couldn’t be liked by everyone, however, you were incredibly unlucky if those who didn’t like you had violent tendencies. That was why Gwaine always picked his battles quite wisely. No matter how good looking the woman was, if her husband or lover looked like he could take out ten of him, then he would probably go for the next good looking barmaid. Some things were not worth the hassle. Of course sometimes Gwaine got himself into those sorts of situations by accident, but those occasions were unavoidable. After all, if he stopped charming women every time he got a bloodied nose from a jealous lover, he’d have had to given up this game years ago and then where would he be? He was nothing without his charms after all. “Well I’m not getting in the way of all of them. If I spoilt this face then the ladies of Camelot would be incredibly unhappy.” It was true, how all of them just didn’t flock to him when he walked down the street would always be a mystery to Gwaine. If he was a woman he certainly would, or perhaps that was just him being bigheaded.
The laugh which came out of Gwaine’s mouth as Elyan said that he wanted him could have probably woken the entire street. Now he knew his friend was drunk. As the speech was broken up, Gwaine took the first half of the sentence in a differently context to how it was actually meant, and he was laughing too much at his own thoughts to be of any real use when Elyan actually revealed his intentions. “If you really want me you’d have a few barmaids and ladies to fight off, I am after all, quite the catch.” He winked at Elyan, it wouldn’t be fair to just stand here laughing at him if he didn’t explain exactly what he found so funny. Of course he complied and pulled one of Elyan’s hands so he could help him into a sitting position, so at least then he could comfortably get himself up, “You’re heavy, did you know that?” He groaned as he helped Elyan haul himself into a different position.

Elyan had been punched many times in his life...so far. They weren't usually enjoyable. He remembered his first real fight when he was about eleven years old. Someone made a horrible comment about his sister after she'd just taken the job to work for Morgana. He couldn't remember exactly what had been said but it had been enough for Elyan to throw the first punch. At the time he hadn't realised how much it would hurt his fist rather than just the other boy's face. Before long both of them had to be pulled apart by the other boy's father, the old baker. He remembered the fight so vividly because he'd never forget the row he'd gotten from his father afterwards. Tom would never usually shout, he was more of the 'I'm very disappointed in you' kind of parent. But their mother had just died and he guessed his father just didn't need a foolish son getting in to fights in the street. He creased his eyebrows at the memory; it seemed drinking made him think of the past. “Well I’m not getting in the way of all of them. If I spoilt this face then the ladies of Camelot would be incredibly unhappy.” Elyan didn't have to be sober to laugh at that. "Oh I'm sure they'd be utterly devastated," he said with sarcasm dripping off every word. He continued chuckling to himself. Gwaine really was very big headed sometimes...or rather most of the time.
When Elyan got drunk his brain got a little slow which caused him to miss the innuendo that could be taken from his broken up words. He just gave Gwaine a confused look when he began laughing. Even after Gwaine spoke, joking and teasing him, Elyan still didn't catch on. He'd already pretty much forgotten about what he'd said so he couldn't think why Gwaine was being so odd and insinuating...things. Elyan just narrowed his eyes at him. "You're really weird." It was more to himself but in his drunken state of mind, he couldn't really control what was coming out of his mouth and what wasn't. He was very glad when Gwaine finally helped him up to sit and was about to thank him when Gwaine spoke again. “You’re heavy, did you know that?” Elyan narrowed his eyes at him. "It's all muscle, obviously." He pushed himself off the ground and deliberately leaned on Gwaine when he was up. "I bet I've got more muscle than you." He poked Gwaine squarely in the chest for emphasis and raised an eyebrow in challenge.

Gwaine wasn’t usually the one who could take the moral high ground with such matters. Usually he was the one who was being dragged out of taverns after a punch up. It was quite strange to be on the other side of it, and Gwaine was quite enjoying the sensation. He was allowed to judge his friends situation because he wasn’t involved in this at all. It hadn’t been Gwaine’s fault that Elyan had got himself punched in the face had it? He hadn’t been much help, but Gwaine had been rather drunk at the time. The fresh night air had sobered him up a little, but not that much. He didn’t really want to get into any more fights tonight. He fought so much better when he was sober anyway, that was why he usually gambled when he was on his first few ales. However, he had been getting into less and less tavern brawls since making Camelot his permanent residence. Gwaine supposed that was because people knew he was a knight of Camelot now, and were less inclined to call him a thief than when he had been on the road because he was more of a familiar face. He didn’t have old rivalries that Elyan had gained when he had been a resident here. Gwaine was happy enough with that though, as he had enough fights with his fellow knights in training without getting into ones when he was supposed to be having some time off. “Oh they would be, they’d be inconsolable.” He winked at Elyan, of course Gwaine wasn’t that big headed as to assume that every woman in Camelot would be struck down with grief if his face was punched in. He just knew most of them would be.
In all honesty, Gwaine took Elyan’s supposed insult as a complete compliment. He would rather be weird than completely average. Hardly anyone in Camelot, or at least the people that Gwaine had encountered, could ever be deemed as ordinary. Everyone seemed to have a special spark around them, no matter how great or small. He saw it with the knights, and with his other friends as well like Griff and his wife, Caitrin. “I take that as a compliment.” Gwaine grinned and continued to help Elyan up into a more comfortable position than lying down in the hay. Gwaine raised his eye brow at his friend though, “You’re a stick compared to me.” He flexed one of his arms, he was impressed with the amount of muscle there so he would doubt that Elyan would be unimpressed. If Elyan had been a woman he would probably have jumped on him by now.

Elyan had always silently or outwardly laughed at Gwaine's ridiculous attempts to woo and flirt with women. He thought he was such a lady killer which would make Elyan laugh all the more on the occasions ladies would turn him down. On the occasions they didn't Gwaine would smirk at him and Elyan would just feel sorry for the poor woman who'd fallen for Gwaine's charms. “Oh they would be, they’d be inconsolable.” Elyan snorted. "Sure," he said sarcastically. "But I can think of a few that I think I'd probably be able to...console." He smirked at Gwaine. He wouldn't usually talk like this, but he was drunk so whatever popped into his head would fly out of his mouth. "Not every woman in Camelot fall over their own feet to catch your eye, you know." He remembered one had actually done just that in the first week he and Gwaine were knights. It was ridiculous, how some women threw themselves at his fellow knight. Maybe it was his hair. Elyan paused in thought, he'd have to think about that one.
His friend was a bit weird, but he guessed they all were in their own ways. Except for him of course, he thought wryly knowing it wasn't true. He looked up at Gwaine when he mentioned taking Elyan's comment as a compliment, a smile as plain as day on his lips. "You would, that, my friend, is why you're weird," he said matter-of-factly. “You’re a stick compared to me.” Elyan scoffed at Gwaine and stopped leaning on him, carrying his own weight. He swayed slightly at first at the loss of support, but then found his balance. "Strength isn't all about muscle anyway, it's about technique too." He grinned before facing Gwaine fully with his fists in front of him. "Come on, show me what you can do."
He was fully prepared to take on Gwaine and stupidly over-confidant. He was about to make the first move when the grin suddenly fell from his face. Oh no. He abruptly turned behind him to the hay he'd almost considered living in and proceeded to vomit from his excessive drinking. He clutched his stomach which was probably empty now and looked up to see a man a few feet away with an extremely angry expression. "That was my hay," he bellowed. Elyan stepped back towards Gwaine, a hesitant smile on his face and indiscreetly whispered, "I think now would be a great time to run."

Gwaine didn’t really appreciate the tone that Elyan was using. It was almost like he was doubting the effect he had on women which was quite absurd. Everyone in Camelot, if not even the whole of Albion, knew how much of a womaniser Gwaine was, and how women practically threw themselves at him. He raised his eye brows at Gwaine, who on earth would look to him for comfort if Gwaine was in the picture? The woman would either have to be stupid or blind. That wasn’t to say his friend wasn’t a handsome fellow, but when compared with Gwaine, well, no one could match his charms or good looks. “They would only seek consolation from you if I weren’t there. If I were then you would not stand a chance.” He said rather boldly, with a grin. Gwaine grinned to himself, realising his ego was quite a lot larger than even he had granted it as being.
In all truth, Gwaine wasn’t surprised about Elyan’s state. Not everyone was a seasoned drinker like Gwaine was. In training tomorrow Gwaine would have a mild hangover, but Elyan would be so much worse than him. Grinning, Gwaine decided not to rise to Elyan’s words. He would be able to best his friend in training tomorrow, and though he would beat him mercilessly, it would be a lot better than the torment he would be put through by some of their fellow brothers who would make them both pay for their drinking antics. “I’ll fight you fair tomorrow my friend.” He clapped Elyan on the shoulder, but made sure not to do it too hard in case he pushed his friend over.
He, for a minute, thought he had hit Elyan’s shoulder too hard and could only watch as his friend retched in the hay. He would have laughed if it weren’t from a very angry man whose hay Elyan had just wrecked. This was probably the most amusing night Gwaine had had in a while, but it was quickly teaching him that Elyan was a liability. “I think you’re right.” He agreed, and began to head off in the opposite direction as fast as his drunken legs would allow.

Elyan had charmed a few women over the years, and no matter how big headed it sounded, he'd been successful most of the time. He was more of a strong silent mysterious type, and women seemed to go for that. Gwaine was a lot different. “They would only seek consolation from you if I weren’t there. If I were then you would not stand a chance.” He snorted at Gwaine's comment and sighed. He didn't want to harm his friends ego and everyone knew that being a womaniser was Gwaine's thing, although he compensated by being a formidable fighter. "If that helps you sleep better at night, you can believe whatever you want," he smiled mockingly at him before chuckling.
He didn't fully understand what was wrong with him. It was like the universe decided to make sure he was constantly in the wrong place at the wrong time and laugh at the amusing consequences. It wasn't always amusing for him. Did the man have to be there the second Elyan had to throw up? No, but some unknown force, Elyan had decided made sure he was. He sighed; there was no point in questioning it any longer. He watched Gwaine run and didn't need a large amount of time to follow suit. He stumbled slightly at first as he followed Gwaine to the castle, but after some time he gathered momentum and propelled himself forward. He chanced a glance back at the angry man and sighed in relief when he saw he wasn't following. He began trying to slow down before realising he couldn't. The momentum he'd created was too great and he was too drunk to attempt to stop it. He ran in front of Gwaine with a look of resignation on his face. He may have been ridiculously drunk but he wasn't stupid, there was only one way he was going to stop. He saw the gate of the castle in front of him and held his arms out as collided with it at full speed.

Gwaine found himself raising an eye brow at his friend. Now, Gwaine could take insults to many part of his being (most chose to insult his hair) but when someone tried to challenge his experience and capabilities as a womaniser, he found himself resting on his defences. Gwaine knew how good he was, and how he could have most women weak at the knees. He did accept some women would not look at him twice, because even he wasn’t that egotistical, but that was their loss. It meant he had more time to give to those women who really did want him. “I don’t just believe it, I know it.” It felt like a rather pathetic come back, but he had a belly full of ale, and he didn’t have the will power, the brain power, or even the effort to think of a good come back. Right now, even though he would usually be on his seventh ale of the night by now, he wanted his bed. Maybe that was only because he was sure the men would make him suffer for his hang over in the morning at training. Well, he wouldn’t be punished as much as Elyan so it was fine. They might not even notice.
A quick look over his shoulder told Gwaine that Elyan was actually running after him as well. He’d been worried that his friend had been beyond running in his state. After all, he had been a little worse for wear. Well, a lot worse for wear. Gwaine smiled to himself as he continued running, thinking that as long as he reached the castle gates then he would be a lot more safe than he was now. Luckily, another glance over his shoulder told Gwaine that the mans straw that Elyan had promptly ruined was not following them. Well, they would have to sort something out for the man, when they were more sober, and less childish. Hmm. Elyan had finally caught up with him, and Gwaine couldn’t help but burst out laughing, though he was sure his friend could probably do with some rest, given the fact he was already being sick. “Come on, lets get you cleaned up and to your chambers.” He patted Elyan on the shoulder, hoping his friend would see sense in this at last.

The collision with the gate caused Elyan to land rather ungracefully on the ground. He attempted to get up but as soon as he tried a huge headache split across his temple. It was agony so he decided to give it a few moments before attempting to get up again. After a moment of breathing in and out deeply he got up again without the headache but still with dizziness. He heard Gwaine's boom of laughter and couldn't help but grumble in response. Elyan failed to see the funny side of things and that's exactly what the expression on his face said. He'd probably have a massive bruise on his thigh where he'd collided with the floor, not to mention the black eye he could already feel forming. His only comfort, despite how horrible it sounded was that Gwaine had been punched too and would probably get a more obvious black eye. Except Gwaine didn't have a sister called Gwen who'd probably wring his neck if she saw him in this state.
“Come on, lets get you cleaned up and to your chambers.” He looked up at Gwaine, an almost dazed look on his face when as his eyes adjusted. "You know what," he began grabbing Gwaine's shoulder for support. "I think that's the first good idea you've had all night." He gave him a shaky smile and pretty much put half of his weight on Gwaine as they made their way towards the castle. After a few steps he paused slightly and groaned very audibly. "Someone is hammering inside my head," he moaned and clutched his head with his fists. He wasn't sure if it was caused by the collision or by his excessive intake of alcohol. "This is all your fault," he grumbled childishly at Gwaine. He had to admit though he'd actually enjoyed himself if he excluded of course the punch in the tavern, vomiting and angering a man who was overly attached to his hay, colliding with the castle gates and getting a pounding headache.

Gwaine couldn’t recall a more hilarious evening than the one he and Elyan had just been through. This was just too perfect. The whole evening hadn’t been what he had planned in the slightest, and he had to say he would rather have ended the night in someone elses bed rather than running from an angry farmer with a splitting headache. However, this was so much more entertaining. This would probably be a night they would be talking about for some time. He knew Elyan probably wouldn’t be that impressed with him in the immediate, especially when his hangover kicked in, but in time he would probably look back on the events they had been through together in a fonder life. Who knew? Gwaine hoped so anyway, because he was quickly running out of knights who trusted him on a night out.
Gwaine let Elyan grab onto him, to give him support as they began to make their way up to the castle. He found himself pulling a face at Elyan though, of all the ideas tonight this was Gwaine’s more sensible one, but it was by no means the best idea he had had. “Drinking was the best idea I had all night.” Gwaine protested, after all without the alcohol he wouldn’t have had such a laugh afterward. You never had this much fun when you were sober. He snorted as his friend complained about someone hammering in his head, “That’s the alcohol fairy trying to break out, but her more common name is hangover.” He pulled a serious face at his friend, “Nasty piece of work she is.” It would be amusing to see how seriously Elyan took that, given he was quite drunk at the moment. It wasn’t an unreasonable conclusion for him to say that it was all Gwaine’s fault. In fact, he had been expecting something like this. What Gwaine disagreed with though was the fact that Elyan seemed quite annoyed about the entire thing. This had probably been the best night of his life, and he sounded like a sulky child, “You say that like it’s a bad thing.” He pointed out with a wide grin, “We had a fantastic night!”

“Drinking was the best idea I had all night.” He couldn't help but laugh at his friend and clapped his shoulder. "I'd drink to that," he chuckled. He wouldn't really, especially if it caused him to get punched again. He sincerely hoped Gwaine wouldn't take him seriously and he almost started to worry until he got distracted. Elyan stared at Gwaine incredulously when he mentioned an alcohol fairy. "There's a fairy in my head?" He asked wide-eyed. How on Earth did a fairy manage to get into his head unnoticed? It would have to be a pretty small fairy of course to fit and what kind of name is Hangover for a fairy? Fairies were supposed to have names like Poppy and Buttercup not Hangover. "How do I get it out?" He practically shouted at Gwaine. He didn't want a fairy living in his head. It would significantly reduce his manliness, and he liked his manliness...a lot. He wasn't about to allow any of the other knights to be manlier than him, especially not Gwaine. That, and the fact that he didn't want a drunk fairy messing with his head.
The night had been...eventful to say the least. But he'd be a liar if he said he hadn't enjoyed the thrill of it. It had been fun; even the punch in the face hadn't ruined it. A few hours ago he would never have thought he'd end the night with severe bruising and a fairy trying to break out of his head, but who could tell the future. Certainly not Elyan, and he didn't want to. It would ruin the thrill of the moment. “We had a fantastic night!” He grinned at Gwaine's enthusiasm. At least he hadn't ruined his friends night by getting him punched along with him. "I suppose," he agreed reluctantly. He almost slipped but grabbed onto Gwaine's shoulder tightly to right himself again. He noticed all the strange looks they were getting from the servants around the castle and the guards on duty, but thought nothing of it. They were probably staring at Gwaine and his strangely well-kept hair. It wouldn't be the first time. He found himself poking it after a while, wondering what Gwaine's secret was.

Elyan drinking to his words probably wasn’t advisable in any sense. His friend had already had too much to drink, and now Gwaine just had to focus on getting his friend back up to his chambers before further damage could be caused. He had sort of caused this, so he could at least make sure Elyan got back to his chambers in a half decent state; he couldn’t just leave him after all could he? “Probably best off leaving the drinking for another night.” He pointed out with a wicked grin, he wasn’t letting Elyan near anymore ale in his condition, right now all his friend needed was his bed. He found it hard to keep a straight face as Elyan began to query about the drink fairy. Oh, Gwaine would have to use this one more often as it was too perfect. Gwaine luckily wasn’t that drunk that he couldn’t enjoy his friends confusion and anguish. In fact, he was just making it worse. He looked seriously at his friend, realising there was more fun to be had with this, “Well it is quite a rare thing, so I’m not quite sure...” Again, he amazed himself at the fact he was actually able to keep a straight face. Apparently Gwaine was as good when half cut as he was when he was sober.
No one would ever be able to convince Gwaine that his style of a night out wasn’t the best kind. After all, his adrenaline only ever ran this high when they were in a battle, so it was nice to have the same rush when his life wasn’t in danger. Well, it wouldn’t have been in danger if Elyan hadn’t been involved, as now Gwaine was convinced that half of Camelot. He just grinned at Elyan as he gave a humble sort of nod at his friends words. Well, Gwaine had had fun, despite the fact he was going to have a black eye tomorrow and a hangover to nurse. He kept Elyan upright, which was a task and a half, and they were getting looks from the knights on guard, who all seemed to look puzzled until they saw Gwaine. Clearly, his reputation proceeded him. “Come on, we won’t take too long to get to your chambers.”

The fairy in his head was banging harder and louder as he heard an annoying ringing in his ears. He wished he'd taken more care in how much he drank, but he'd just downed the tankards one after the other without thinking. That must have been how the fairy snuck in. His eyes narrowed, the next time he went drinking, if he survived with a fairy banging around in his head, he'd keep a closer eye. No angry fairies with weird names were ever going to get past him again. “Well it is quite a rare thing, so I’m not quite sure...” He stared at Gwaine, a genuinely petrified look on his face. "What?!" He practically screeched at him. "The fairy's going to be in my head forever?" He couldn't live that way! "There must be some way...any way," he pleaded with Gwaine. There was no way he'd be a proper knight with all his manliness intact. And he had a lot of manliness.
He didn't even attempt to help Gwaine drag Elyan to his room. The only contribution he really made was putting one foot in front of the other, and he wasn't always successful in doing even that. He ceased poking and prodding at his friend's hair; he'd have to learn about that secret another time. After some time of feeling sorry for himself at the state of his massive headache, he decided to openly show his emotions. He didn't do that often, but now he felt everyone should know how Elyan felt.
And so he began to sing.
His words were a mumble and barely audible most of the time. But the audible parts were a mix of 'my manliness is destoooyed' and 'I want long luscious hair.' He wasn't the greatest of singers when drunk and so the melody was out of tune and all over the place. But he didn't care. It was an expression of his raw emotion.

Gwaine would have to remember this one, the ale fairy was truly one of his better inventions. Why did he have all his best ideas when he was half cut? Hmm. He would have suggested that having an ale or several would have been the right thing to do before a training session, as if he had all his best ideas whilst drunk then nothing could go wrong, right? Wrong, Gwaine had turned up to training in all sorts of states in the past and paid for it every single time. The knights made him remember every ale he’d took in and it had put him off drinking temporarily, until that night of course. No, drinking was meant to be kept away from fighting. Gwaine was finding it harder and harder to keep a straight face, and he would be using this to taunt his friend with for the foreseeable future. This was the fun with only letting yourself become tipsy rather than drunk; you appreciated the pains everyone else went through. “Maybe not forever.” Gwaine said rather seriously, “But it will leave, when it finds a way to get out of your head.” He shrugged and had to put his face away from his friend as he supressed a chuckle. This really was too perfect.
Though he appreciated his friend was incredibly drunk and had no intention of sobering up anytime soon he wasn’t really enjoying the constant prodding and poking. Gwaine pulled a face at his friend and tried to slap away his hand, which did result in him stopping his prodding, but only to be replaced with Elyan’s singing; great. His friend sounded like a chorus of cats being strangled one after another. This was going perfectly well wasn’t it? The amusement from the fairy was going, as Gwaine tried to stifle his friend with his hand, “Do you want to wake the whole castle up? Gwen can’t see you like this!” Gwen would probably kill her brother for getting in this state, and then kill him for letting him get into the state in the first place. It never went Gwaine’s way really. “Besides, your hair will never be as luscious as mine, no matter how much you bloody well sing about it.”

This alcohol fairy seemed like a dangerous foe, unlike anything he'd ever encountered before. But despite any fear he felt, he was determined to defeat it. “Maybe not forever.” He could see the seriousness of Gwaine's face and listened intently when he continued. When it finds a way to get out of his head? Did that mean it would go out through his ears? It was the most logical conclusion, of course. Elyan knew he'd been extremely logical throughout the entire ordeal with the alcohol fairy. "I'll just have to go to Gaius." He thought of his bed. "Tomorrow." Gaius would definitely know what to do about an alcohol fairy. Elyan just hoped he wouldn't have to drink anything. He knew as well as anyone how practically every medicine given by that physician and probably every physician tasted revolting. But he also knew that they all worked. It was a sacrifice he’d just have to make. “No fairy is going to beat the mighty Elyan,” he said pointedly at Gwaine, referring to himself with the old nickname he’d used occasionally when he was a child. Gwen had always laughed at it but that was probably only because she knew it was true, he thought childishly. The possible repercussions of saying such words in front of Gwaine didn’t even cross his mind.
He wasn’t amused by the fact that his friend was trying to stop Elyan from expressing his deep emotions. He slapped Gwaine’s hand away and stopped singing…for the time being. Although, he made a point to pout at Gwaine and sulk because he hadn’t enjoyed his obviously wonderful singing. There must be something wrong with the other knight’s ears, he concluded. That was the only plausible explanation. The castle would have been glad to wake up to his glorious singing anyway and so would Gwen, he pouted again. “Besides, your hair will never be as luscious as mine, no matter how much you bloody well sing about it.” Elyan glared at his friend; that hurt. If he grew it out Elyan’s hair would be a million times better than Gwaine’s silly hair. He had to express his hurt somehow to Gwaine though and concluded the only way he could. He decided to very childishly stick his tongue out at Gwaine while of course glaring at him the entire time. He was distracted by his mission though when they finally reached a door. “My chambers!” He exclaimed. Elyan made no move towards the door however since Gwaine was obviously going to carry him in, of course.
