If Elyan was going to go to Gaius in the morning to explain that he needed an alcohol fairy out of his head then Gwaine would defiantly be going with him. He just needed to see the look on Gaius’ face when Elyan came out with such an amazing tale, though he would defiantly be disappearing before Gaius could quiz him about the state Elyan had got himself into. No doubt Gwaine would end up getting the blame for this no matter what. “I think that might be for the best.” He agreed, somehow managing to keep a straight face as he said it. He deserved some sort of medal for his acting skills tonight, though he was too drunk to care about getting recognition right now. He would tease Elyan about this for years to come. It took every inch of Gwaine’s self control to stop himself from laughing as Elyan declared that no fairy was going to beat him. “Well, the fairy is quite a tricky being. It will be quite a task to defeat it.” He half grunted his words; Elyan felt like he was getting heavier and heavier as Gwaine continued to take him up to his chambers.
Gwaine was making a mental note not to let Elyan get this drunk again, or if he did, Gwaine would have to get twice as drunk so he wouldn’t have to put up with his childish behaviour. It appeared that the more Elyan had drunk, the more immature he had become, but not in a good way either. Gwaine pulled a face back at his fellow knight; two could play at this game! Then Elyan stuck his tongue out at him, and Gwaine, because he was so mature, stuck his tongue back out at him as well. It was the simplest way of expressing his emotions aside from punching Elyan in the face for his immaturity. He would probably appreciate it in his usual state of mind, but right now he was tired and wanted to get to his chambers. Gwaine looked round at Elyan as he exclaimed at the door in front of them. “Well at least your eye sight hasn’t been affected by the alcohol.” He looked round at this friend, “Either you move your feet or you sleep there; I’m not carrying you.”

Elyan guessed he should be glad Gwaine was being so very supportive and strangely informative. In fact Gwaine did seem to know an awful lot about this beast. That was probably because he must have encountered it before. So he should just count himself lucky that his friend is nearby to help him. There was no point worrying too much now anyway; Gaius would surely know exactly how to deal with it. Until then he'd just have to sit tight and put up fight. He leaned on Gwaine further as he listened to him speak. Clearly he didn't have the energy to multitask. A task to defeat it? Ha! "I assure you, my friend, it is a challenge that I will definitely overcome," he half slurred. "Although I guess I really should thank you for," Wow! Gwaine had really shiny buttons!
He was incredibly glad to be back to his chambers. It felt like he'd been away for ages and he missed his warm bed. Maybe after a good night’s rest the alcohol fairy would stop banging on the inside of his head; he was beginning to get a real headache. He was sure it couldn't get worse than this. “Either you move your feet or you sleep there; I’m not carrying you.” He sulked at Gwaine. "What a friend you are." He proceeded to pout and then let go of Gwaine in a huff. That was a mistake. As soon as he lost the support he felt himself falling forwards. He would have hit the floor if the doors to his chambers hadn't been in front of him. But the wooden doors weren't exactly luxurious cushions and he fell against them with a loud "Ow!" He steadied himself and looked back at Gwaine. "I guess this is goodbye, my friend, I hope to see you soon," he said with all the seriousness he could muster in his childlike state. He slowly opened the door and practically ran towards his bed. Elyan fell asleep as soon as his head hit the pillow with all thoughts of the alcohol fairy and the early morning of training ahead gone. He also slept fully clothed and with the door still wide open.

Sometimes Gwaine’s genius even impressed him. Perhaps he should have actually been a scholar, or taught Gaius a thing or two about herbs, because right now the idea to tell Elyan there was an alcohol fairy living in his head was the best idea in the whole of creation and no one would ever be able to convince Gwaine differently. This was a tale that all of the knights would know within the next day or so, and Elyan would never forget it. Perhaps they could turn this into a prank somehow, Gwaine would have to think on that when he could actually see straight. For now he was good at either focussing on his thoughts or where he was going; nothing else really seemed to compute. Though he was never good at multi tasking, drinking seemed to enhance that flaw in his nature. Well, really to Gwaine it wasn’t a flaw, it meant that all his attentions had to be drawn to one thing at a time, meaning maximisation of effort to whatever he was doing... Gwaine blinked, what on earth was he going on about? Oh right, they were outside Elyan’s room; right. “I’m sure you will! You are a knight after all!” Gwaine enthused, still managing to keep a straight face; he was a better actor than he had thought it would appear.
Elyan’s chambers were cleaner than his were, but that wasn’t really surprising, most knights wouldn’t come anywhere near his chambers. He couldn’t really see the problem with his socks, but apparently the stench had somehow got into the corridor; again Gwaine had no idea what the problem was. He could never smell anything, so he was sure that they were just making it up. As Gwaine was just starting to cross the threshold into his own hangover, he was not really in the mood for Elyan to be moody and irritable with him and pulled a face at him, “I am a good friend, I warned you about the alcohol fairy did I not?” He said, folding his arms, confirming with it that there was no way in the five kingdoms that Elyan was going to convince him to carry him into his chambers; it wasn’t happening; end of.
Gwaine watched, amused as Elyan picked himself up and walked into his room, bidding him goodnight. He watched him get into the bed, making sure he didn’t injure himself in the process, and laughed as his friend collapsed on the bed; somehow the incident was so much funnier than it really should have been. His laughter was soon replaced by Elyan’s snores, and Gwaine pulled a face, “Night sleeping beauty.” He chuckled to himself, and shut the door behind him, wondering if he would have to wake his friend up for training in the morning; there was a job he actually wanted to do; or maybe Elyan would want him to hold his hand while Gaius searched for the alcohol fairy...

Pain. It was the first thing that registered as Elyan sluggishly opened his eyes. His head felt like he'd banged it against the wall...repeatedly. He stretched in his bed and felt his joints aching. What was wrong with him? He tried to sit up but felt instantly nauseous and dizzy so he put his head back down again and lay there for a few minutes. Groaning loudly, Elyan made another attempt at sitting up. He still felt dizzy, but not the painful stinging he'd felt before. Things'll get better, he thought to himself until he felt his stomach heave. "Oh please god no." He leaped from his bed, grabbed the closest bucket he could find and proceeded to empty out the contents of his stomach. It was not a pretty sight. He felt liquid burning back up his throat, which was definitely alcohol. Judging by the amount he heaved out, he'd drank a lot. So that would explain the unreasonably terrible headache he was experiencing, well either that or an alcohol fairy. He paused, alcohol fairy? Where had that come from? In fact what the bloody hell happened last night?
He tried to think back, which was painful, but Elyan was adamant in finding out who he should blame for his current condition. He'd take it step by step, knowing that was the best way to remember anything. He remembered talking to Gwen in the afternoon about....Ah yes, what she wanted for her birthday. He wasn't sure at all what she'd like and she'd said nothing of course. He hadn't expected anything different, but he remembered deciding to get her a simple necklace from the market. She likes simple things like that. Then, he'd been talking with Percival about a some girl that had caught his friend's eye. She was a red-headed kitchen maid, who Elyan didn't really have a liking for. He remembered her from when he was a young boy maybe around 12; she'd pushed him in a puddle for absolutely no reason. He'd hadn't liked her since. Afterwards he'd gone back to his chamber...yes, and tried to sort out the inventory of his forge. And then....and then...Gwaine had knocked on the door and....they went to the tavern where he proceeded to drink himself silly and make an absolute fool of himself for Gwaine's amusement! He felt himself get angrier the more he began to remember. That good for nothing, "GWAINE!"

To say that Gwaine had spent most of the evening drinking himself silly in the tavern, he felt quite refreshed that morning. Oddly, he thought, when he woke he was staring at his floor. He was slumped over his bed; his head hadn’t even managed to stay on his bed, it was kind of lolling over the side. Gwaine laughed at himself, unsure of how that had actually happened. Comfort hadn’t really been on his mind when he had stumbled into his room; he had been more bothered about actually getting some sleep. Looking up, he was also quite glad to find that he was in his own room. Well, he wouldn’t be complaining if he had wandered into the room of an accommodating young noblewoman, but he had far too often strayed into guest rooms, and the rooms of his fellow knights. They were never happy with him when they found him sleeping in their bed. Gwaine couldn’t see the problem. If he found someone as witty, handsome and as dashing as him in his bed he wouldn’t be complaining. Well, perhaps if those qualities were in a woman who had found herself in his bed instead... It was fairly obvious where Gwaine’s thoughts were that morning; most probably because last night any contact with women had been short lived as he had been drinking with Elyan.
Another grin crossed his features as he thought of Elyan, he wondered what state his friend was in this morning. Hopefully Gwen wouldn’t find out the details of last night, because it would end up being Gwaine’s fault, even though most of it had actually been Elyan. Sure, he had been the one to suggest drinking, but still, he couldn’t be expected to take all the blame. The next thing he became aware of was his name being shouted angrily down the corridor. It wasn’t long before his chambers were invaded by a rather angry looking Elyan. Gwaine flopped onto his back ungracefully, and propped himself up on his forearms. Elyan looked a little worse for wear, and all Gwaine could do was laugh. “Still need to see Gaius about that alcohol fairy?” He asked with a toothy grin on his lips. If Elyan was more sober Gwaine would probably be fearing for his life. As it was, Elyan barely looked like he could stand, so he felt relatively safe.
