Ifan is the oldest and closest friend of Prince Celyn ap Llewellyn. The two have been friends since childhood – Ifan’s father being one of the king’s chief advisors. Ifan is supposed to be looking after the young prince and making sure he doesn’t get himself into too much trouble, only he’s not that good at it. Ifan is just as adventurous, a tad more cautious and definitely more accident-prone.
Despite this, he doesn't have the luxury Celyn has of being able to do as he pleases, and is acutely aware how easy it would be to fall out of the king's favour should anything happen to Celyn. This has often led to Celyn to describing him as boring and only out to ruin his fun. Surprisingly enough, Ifan isn't too pleased about this. Only he's too busy trying to make sure they stop ending up in sticky situations to try and prove Celyn wrong.
