Sir Lucan!
Congratulations!!!!
Sir Lucan!
“What are you doing here?” Roslyn demanded peering over her balcony, a cloak wrapped tightly around her because it was freezing and some lunatic was standing underneath her window, disturbing her sleep.
“I’m standing under your window.” Iwan replied simply. He’d thought that much was obvious.
Roslyn rolled her eyes. His flippancy was not making her mood any better. “I know that, idiot. But why are you standing under my window?”
He just stared at her, arms stiff by his side. This had been a completely stupid idea but it was too late to do that now, unfortunately running away would only make things worse. This is why he didn’t do this sort of thing. He wasn’t any good at it and everything always went wrong.
“Well?”
“Gwaine said I should. I’m, erm, I’m serenading you.” His tone was a pathetic one, as was his plight but he was going to continue anyway because well, because he didn’t know what he was supposed to do and if he was good at this, he’d carry on and everything would work out.
Roslyn tilted her head. He was serenading her? Well so far he was doing an awful job of it. She was tired and he was not making his company a desired one. “And how do you plan on doing that?” She asked, eyebrows raised and fully prepared to return inside and leave him standing there.
“I didn’t think this far ahead.” He admitted, feeling even more of a fool.
His words made her stop. He didn’t think this far ahead? Iwan planned everything, yet he hadn’t planned this? So she wasn’t that important then, she didn’t even deserve a plan from a man whose life was just one long to-do list. And this was supposed to be him “serenading” her? “You plan everything.” She said, trying not to sound petulant but frustratingly her tone of voice was betraying her. “Why didn’t you plan this?”
Iwan was rather taken aback. And he didn’t know how to react. This wasn’t a new feeling, it was one he was too bloody used to, and yet he still didn’t know what to do or say and this really wasn’t working and he was going to absolutely kill Gwaine, only he wasn’t because yes this was all going horribly wrong and yes she was glaring at him and was going to leave him standing in the cold any second now but it was alright because she was worth it. This was worth it. Oh Jesu, he’d gone all romantic. “I wanted to be spontaneous,” he admitted, more than a little self-conscious. “It’s romantic.”
Roslyn narrowed her eyes, the hint of a smile forming on her lips. He wanted to be romantic? Oh now she couldn’t be angry with him. How horribly annoying. What’s worse, she was actually flattered. She leant forward, forearms against the balcony, a smile on her lips. “Alright then, you have five minutes to convince me to stay outside.
