As the sun shone particularly bright that morning, Lilith was already packed and headed out. She thanked the man who had let her stay in his home that night while she rested up for her journey. She'd even paid him for his time by helping around the house... with magic, of course. As she started in the direction she felt she needed to go, he stopped her. "Be careful. If you reach Camelot, you must not use magic. Magic is forbidden there, and if they find you using it, you will be executed. You seem like a nice girl, and I know you use magic to help others, but even so... the King will have you killed if you reveal your magic within the walls." He warned, making sure she understood just how serious this situation was.
She swallowed, her mouth suddenly dry, and nodded. All she ever knew was magic... if she wasn't allowed to use it, perhaps it would be better if she didn't visit Camelot. Against her better judgement, however, she picked up her belongings and headed out, towards Camelot. After a day and a half of walking (while she practiced not using magic to do a single thing), she found herself staring at a large wall, and, without asking, knew she had reached her potential final resting ground. Taking a deep, shaky breath, she moved to the drawbridge, waiting to be noticed, not trusting her own voice. It was now or never. If she was going to leave, now was her last chance, otherwise she would have to remain until she felt it was time to move on and help another location.
"STATE YOUR BUSINESS" A voice boomed from the top of the wall. Lilith jumped, and stammered for a minute. Finally, after finding her voice, she replied. "I am here to sell items to your physician and help out in any way I can." She replied. "I WILL VERIFY IF YOUR SERVICES ARE REQUIRED" The knight responded, and sent word to who was in charge. After receiving a verification to admit her, he welcomed her, and the drawbridge was lowered. Taking another deep breath, she entered, knowing that passing through the arch meant all magic was officially left out the door. The streets were teaming with life, and the people looked healthy and happy. "Ok..." she muttered to herself. "Whatever told me to come here... I seriously hope you know what you're doing."
Without a clue as to where things were, she wandered aimlessly, looking more and more like a lost little child than like a herbalist or a physician in training. She clutched her satchel and staff tightly, glancing from shop to home, barely able to distinguish one from the other. As she passed people, she wanted to stop and ask for directions, but everyone seemed so busy, and most were moving as if they were in a hurry, she felt claustrophobic and nauseous. If this was what a kingdom was like, she wanted to run and never enter another for as long as she lived.
