Guinevère sat by the fire, and finished cooking the meal. She wasn't the best cook, her talents stronger in sewing, cleaning, and other arts; but she made do! She could do it without bringing shame to her name. Most days. Today she was paying extra attention to it because Arthur and Elyan were going to be returning any moment. Her brother. And her . . . and Arthur! She wasn't sure how to explain that to her brother. She wasn't sure what to call Arthur. She knew that one day, possibly many years from now, they'd be together. Yet she also knew that would mean Uther was dead, and that loss would be great on Arthur.
Pulling the meat from the fire, she looked over toward where Morgana slept. She'd save some for her, knowing Morgana was in pain and needed rest. Guinevère looked out into the dark night and wished her brother would come back soon. As angry as she'd been toward him, she had missed his dearly. She wanted him close. He was after all, the only family she had. He was her childhood, and her memories; as well as being her friend. She couldn't stay mad forever (though she might wish she could). Hearing foot steps behind her, she turned and looked back. "You're just in time." She said.

Tag: e & Guinevère Note: Better layout coming soon! for the love OF CAMELOT Relief was the most dominant emotion that Arthur was feeling. He knew that Elyan and Guinevère were put in this position because of him. That Cenred had used them, to get to Arthur. So, he was only too relieved when no one had gotten seriously hurt -- apart from Morgana's wounded leg, but it would heal quick enough. It also revealed, that others knew. How, he didn't know. But others had discovered his feelings for Guinevère. Either that, or they knew her closeness to Morgana and used that against him as well. He supposed he couldn't be certain. What he did know, was that he could not protect her the way that he wished.
Which, provided him with further relief that her brother was among them. That she would not be alone. Elyan seemed like a good man, and Arthur admired him for following his heart. Furthermore, he was a damn good swordsman and it only made him more confident that they would make the journey back to Camelot, without any more injuries. Speaking of the man, they had both gone to quickly collect firewood, not wishing to make it a long process for he did not like the thought of leaving Guinevère, Merlin and Morgana alone when Cenred's men could still be lurking. Much to his relief though, they returned and the others were resting, while Guinevère was preparing food. Arthur set the firewood by the fire, hoping with what he and Elyan collected, it would get them through the night. "Thank you, Guinevère," he said as he made his way around to sit on the other side. "Smells better than what Merlin makes," he said teasingly.
