* Past * It had been rocky for Young Catherine the last few years after her parents died, She was now 21 years of age; And she was quite nervous upon her coronation that was around noon time. She sighed as she laid in her bed that morning, Her servants came at the door and knocked: "Your Highness? Are you up? Its your Coronation day... You don't want to be late. Miss Valerie will be coming in to help you get ready... Come on now, Up up !" He stated, the male was a servant named Thomas. "Yes, Thomas I am up, Thank you for the warning... Send her in" she stated. Catherine sat up and her hair was laying flat on her back, She sighed deeply as she closed her eyes. "Today I will become Queen of Anglia, I only wish my parents were here to see this day I know it was their dream to see me become Queen" she stated to herself. Soon Valerie, and two other female servants came to help Catherine get ready. "Are you nervous Dear Princess?" one of the maids asked, Catherine stood there and she smiled softly. "No, its only a short while and its infront of my kingdom, I know the routine, you walk down the aisle; turn and face your people, and they announce your new title" She said with a soft voice. She sighed deeply. All the invitations had been sent out a month before. She inhaled and walked out of the room in a large ball gown, her hair done beautifully; and she wore a tiara on her head; she entered the carriage; and she sighed deeply closing her eyes and thinking of her parents; she soon opened her eyes; and she looked out the window thinking about how her life was going to change forever. Tag: @emily Note: Better layout coming soon! for the love OF CAMELOT It wasn't often that Arthur left Camelot for, leisurely purposes. The past year he had barley been home, for he had been scouring every inch of the kingdom and those beyond it looking for Morgana. Had she not been found, Arthur would have not been able to attend the coronation of their dear friend and ally. But fortune had finally shone done on them. Morgana had returned home, safe and sound, and Arthur was to set out to their allied kingdom to attend the coronation of the young queen. His heart went out to Elizabeth, as he knew what it was to be without a mother, yet he still had his father.
He wished to offer whatever support he could to her, for she would now be queen at such a young age. And Arthur, could only imagine the pressures she would face. Imagine . . . because his father was still of this world, and that still made him a prince. Once he arrived, he was shown to his guest chambers to ready for the event. It did not take long until everyone was gathered in the grand hall of the castle. The crowd mingling, Arthur speaking to other royals and nobles of the like.
He knew the importance of this, for while Arthur wished to attend because he wanted to give support to Elizabeth, his father wanted him to attend to keep stable the alliance they held with Anglia. One reason was far more personal, the other more political though Arthur supposed that summed up the difference in him and his father. The crowd received word that the princess -- soon to be queen -- had arrived and everyone eased into silence, as they watched the doors and awaited for her to step through them so that she would be crowned Queen of Aglia.

Once she arrived to where she was to be crowned in front of her new kingdom, Catherine took a deep breath. She sighed deeply and she exhaled. This was it. There was no turning back now. She stepped out of the carriage; and she entered the building. She remembered all the rules; all the rehearsals they went through day after day. She ran everything through her mind; Until she got to the head master of the coronation. He stopped her and smiled. "You'll be fine Catherine; Just look at me, and remember what we've taught you, Oh your parents would have been so proud" he said gazing upon her lovingly. "I know they would have. I know what to do" she said smiling upon him. "Thank you all for everything; for all your help, I just wanted to get that out now before everything... well you know, changes" she said taking a shaky breath. She looked upon him and placed her hands in front of her. "You ready?" he asked, and she nodded her head. She stood straight; and ready to walk in with the procession. Once they entered. A booming voice filled the room. "Lords and Ladies of Anglia; and those around our small kingdom!" he shouted; Catherine stood in the center; there was a large throne in the room to which she would walk to. "Welcome, to the Coronation of her Royal Highness, Catherine Elizabeth of Anglia! She is ready to become your new queen!" he stated; a large roaring crowd had started to cheer. "Silence please!" he ordered after a minute or so. Catherine took the mans hand; and she stood up and sat down in the throne. Everything was about to change. "Do you solemnly swear to look over the people of your kingdom, do you promise to protect these people, and look after them as if they were family; and help them in anyway you can" he stated as he held the crown over her head. "I do, I will protect my people" she stated; She held the scepter and the orb; in another hand; she closed her eyes as it was placed upon her head. "I give you your new queen; Queen Catherine of Anglia! " another loud roar was to take place, Her life had been changed for the better. She smiled softly and the scepter and the orb was taken from her. She breathed with relief; and she began to mingle with her people. She soon saw Arthur and smiled softly. "Thank you for coming, Yes.. Thank you all, for coming on this special day" she said smiling to everyone. "Please stay for the reception, there's lots of food; drink, and dance!" she said happily. She walked to Arthur. "Hello Arthur; Thank you for coming, I didn't think you'd make it" she said smiling upon him. Arthur Pendragon

Tag: @emily Note: Better layout coming soon! for the love OF CAMELOT Arthur smiled as she walked in. She was certainly beautiful and already held the regal look of a queen. The ceremony carried on flawlessly, as she took an oath as queen, to protect the people. To rule to the best of her ability. The crowd erupting to chant Long live the queen! once the crown was placed upon her head. Arthur knew that a coronation was a bittersweet event. For one, it marked the loss of one's parents -- though she had lost hers at a much earlier age. It also held the burden of ruling. But . . . at the same time, it was a new beginning. A chance to showcase the strength of a kingdom's sovereign and from what he knew of Elizabeth, he had no doubt that she would indeed be a wonderful one.
When she was crowned and the crowd started to mingle, Arthur waited patiently as she greeted each guest and once she got to him and acknowledged him -- thanked him -- he smiled and spoke in return. "I wouldn't miss this for anything," he told her. Though, he also knew that sometimes it was out of his control. He was only too glad that this time . . . he hadn't had to miss such an occasion. "Congratulations your majesty," he said with a continued smile, lowering his head and lightly kissing the back of her hand out of respect before meeting her gaze once more. "I can think of no better sovereign of Aglia." Than her. "And I do hope one of those dances you spoke of is reserved for me," he added on teasingly. She was a dear friend and he wished to celebrate this day with her.

A small smile appeared upon Catherine's face, Arthur had been a good friend through a difficult time. She remembered going to Camelot; when her parents passed away and she needed a good laugh and a good time, and she was glad that Arthur was one of them. She smiled and hugged him tightly; then pulled back. She chuckled; and she walked to the food table; and picked at a grape and ate it. Then she poured herself some wine afterwards. "Thank you Arthur; that means a lot to me" she said smiling as she snacked on some things. "Man, that was the most terrifying thing I had to do in my entire life" she said sighing. "I'm so glad it was over though" she said chuckling. Catherine smirked upon Arthur's request. "Maybe, maybe not!" she said giggling. "I hear as Queen, you have to dance with every male dancer out there. This is going to be exhausting" she said softly. "But yes, I will make sure to reserve a dance for you " she said giggling. Soon a gentleman of high nobility; came towards her. " Your Majesty? May I have this dance?" he stated; smiling upon her. She gave a little curtsy; and took the man's hand. "I'll be back Arthur" she said grinning a bit. "Certainly" she said softly to the gentleman, and went off to dance with him. Catherine had danced for two hours with everyone; and she sighed deeply she grinned and she looked at Arthur. "You were waiting for a dance Your Highness?" she teased playfully. Giggling a bit eyeing him giving him a playful curtsy grinning a bit. A high fun song began to play and she twirled around and grinned at Arthur. Arthur Pendragon

Tag: @emily Note: Better layout coming soon! for the love OF CAMELOT Arthur smiled at Catherine when she spoke of what it meant to her, the smile turning into one of amusement as she added that it was terrifying and was glad it was over. He could certainly understand that. He felt similarly when he'd been crowned Prince, and could only imagine how he would feel when being crowned king. It was one of the burdens being sovereign. Everyone was watching your every move and on occasions such as this, there were all keeping an extra watchful eye. "Well if you were terrified, it certainly didn't show," he assured her, wanting her to know that despite what she felt . . . she held composure. "So it's a good job you didn't trip or fall," he added on teasingly towards her. When she told him that she had to dance with every male, he slightly raised an eyebrow.
"Is that truly a custom in Anglia?" He questioned with the same teasing tone. "I hope you have the stamina to keep up then," he said motioning towards the first male who approached them. A light smirk played on Arthur's features as she told him she would be back, and once she started dancing, he used the time to mingle and catch up with old friends, while making new acquaintances. This was after all, part of journeying to such events. He had lost track of time when Catherine approached him and said that he was waiting for a dance. He turned towards her, smiling. "I don't know, you may have kept me waiting too long," he said with clear jest, obviously not meaning it. He watched her twirl around before lowering himself in a bit of a bow as an introduction to the dance. He then extended his hand for her to take. "Are you sure you're not too tired?" He asked, a playful challenge in his voice.

Catherine gave a pleasant smile upon Arthur. "Why thank you; One of my hand maidens have been helping me with that trait" she said smiling eyeing him. She said nothing for a moment as she was waltzing with a guest. Then she came back towards Arthur and smiled softly. "Man that would have been embarrassing" she said blushing slightly. She said nothing for a moment and she rolled her eyes giggling to Arthur. "Sometimes it is; Yes, Specially with a new Queen or King... you must dance with every person in the room. Its quite exhausting to be honest with you " she said shaking her head. She rubbed her forehead for a moment and took a breather; then she looked at Arthur as he spoke to her. Her mouth opened playfully. "Well.. I shall never keep a friend of the queen waiting!" she said sternly but playfully and such she said giggling. "Come now!" She said dragging him to the floor. "No of course not however maybe after this dance I may escape for a while; Wanna come with me?" she asked raising an eyebrow at him as the dance began; It was a formal dance but a fun one. She smiled as she twirled around him and gave him a low curtsy as she started the dance. "This is one of my favorite dances! Its fun; Its not too boring; or slow" she said grinning as she danced. Tag: @emily Note: Better layout coming soon! for the love OF CAMELOT Arthur continued to smile as she told him that it was indeed a custom, expected with any new king or queen. "I bet," he told her truthfully. "I can't imagine having had to dance with every women at my coronation as crown prince," he said a bit jokingly. "I won't keep you dancing too long then," he told her teasingly, each tease and jest able to come with great ease with her. The perks of having been friends for some time now. He did as instructed, following her onto the designated dancing area as she explained that she may escape for a while. "I am intrigued,"[ he told her, moving along with each step.
Arthur couldn't recall the last time he had just, danced. And enjoyed a celebration like this. Fortunately, part of his upbringing and grooming to be a prince and one day king, involved learning to dance. A relief, for otherwise he would have made an utter fool of himself in moments such as these. "You can count me in," he told her. "Where will we be going?" He knew all too well the need to escape for a little while; a feeling he was willing to support her in. Arthur continued to move in sequence, as she explained that this was her favorite dance for the pacing. "In that case, we shall wait until the song is done to escape," he told her a bit playfully, ensure to keep his voice low so that no prying ears would hear of this plan.

Silence was with Catherine as they danced around the floor some more. However before it ended; she looked at Arthur and motioned him to follow her and she giggled softly. "C'mon, they won't miss me. The party is said to go on for hours!" she said picking up her skirts and scurrying out the secret passage way the one she only knew about. A small giggle escaped Catherine; and she closed and locked the door to the garden out back. Once in the garden; she sighed softly and closed her eyes and leaned against the wall. "Thank god. I know this is a hard task to live up to, You of all people should know" she said softly. She began to walk around; then looked at Arthur. "So what's been new with you ? How's Merlin and all ?" She asked sitting on a window sill and smiling a bit. Arthur Pendragon

Tag: @emily Note: Better layout coming soon! for the love OF CAMELOT When the dance neared to its end, Catherine moved them towards . . . well, Arthur wasn't even certain but he made no protest as he followed her, until they reached the gardens. Watching her close the doors behind her, he knew full well that need to just . . . breathe. And breathing certainly came easier when there was not a room full of people watching your every move. Holding such strong expectations of you. As she said, Arthur knew that feeling all too well. But, he had his father, Guinevère, Morgana . . . and yes, even Merlin in some strange way. His heart went to Catherine who did not have her parents, yet, it made her no less strong or capable. He'd seen her strength of heart first hand.
So, he smiled in response to her words. "I know all too well," he told her. "But you're never alone Catherine. Above allies, we are friends. And should you need anything, Camelot will be here for you." He would be there for her. Upon her next question he continued to smile, as she inquired about his manservant. "He's well. Probably enjoying the drinks and celebrations," he said in teasing towards the man. "Morgana's return has been a relief." The king's ward and Arthur's sister of heart had been missing for a year. Her safe return had helped bring ease to the kingdom, and the king. "And what about you Catherine? What news of Anglia apart from it's new queen," he said with a continued smile.

Sitting on the edge of the open window; of the small garden outside; Catherine gazed upon Arthur as he spoke of Merlin's wellbeing. "I still would love to meet Merlin though you know, one of these days... " she said teasingly. "Don't you think that its strange; that both of us became rulers of our parents lands?" she said grinning. "I mean you still have yours I assume; considering I'm basically an orphan, but raised by servants and the maids" she said rolling her eyes. "But they mean well" she said smiling upon Arthur. Arthur was a good and kind friend to Catherine; Specially in her time of need after her parents died she remembered running away toward Camelot and meeting up with Arthur in the Forest. "And of course there's you" she said with a small smile "You always made me laugh when I was younger. And you still do" she said grinning. "Tell me Arthur; how is it that a man like you don't have a girlfriend yet ?" she asked quirking a brow; folding her arms a bit raising an eyebrow at him. "Are you not interested in finding love yet?" she asked moments later. "I mean I still have a long ways to go; I am twenty one now; come to think of it" she said chuckling. "Perhaps we could go riding in the countryside one day just the two of us; and get reconnect some memories" she said with a bright smile. "Perhaps a picnic maybe one day? I mean of course we'd be going as friends" she said coming off the window sil and she shoved him gently. "I'm teasing; But I do thank you Arthur for coming out to my Coronation" she said softly hugging him once more and pulling back. Arthur Pendragon
