And while you are sitting indoors waiting for the storm to pass I will be outside dancing in the rain
❧ Emilia still couldn't believe that the ban on magic had been lifted. Beneath Arthur's reign as king things had improved tremendously, but she had never imagined that he would lift the ban that forbid her from embracing her heritage, that had seen so many innocent men, women, and children murdered, hat had bought so much pain and suffering to so many.
She was immensely pleased. It meant that she could be more open about her history, less afraid to talk about her mother, her father, her sister. It meant that she could embrace magic as she had always wanted. And the cherry on top of the proverbial cake was that the kingdoms had come together.
That was something that was never going to happen beneath Urther's reign. For reasons that were obvious. But Arthur had changed that for the better. Camelot was busy, with visitors around every corner, strangers from the other kingdoms. It was a lovely sight to see them all as allies, getting along for the first time in what felt like aeons. Emilia was happy with the change. She was moving through the markets, clutching a basket topped up with ingredients to make dinner for her step-father when he returned from the stables. A shoulder brushed hers, threatening to knock her to the dirt. Phalanges clutched at that arm, struggling to keep balance. "I am so sorry."
