"There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, Than are dreamt of in your philosophy." The fire was warm and pleasant in the cool day. Dark clouds hing in the sky and a light fog had settled over the ground. Thunder boomed and lighting flashed in the distance and whispers of the coming storm floated on the wind. The tall trees cast shadows of fright over the leafy ground. Two horses pawed at the ground with their hooves, unsettled by the howling wind. A girl moved to the two beasts, running her hands along their necks and whispering soft words. They started to calm, nuzzling their heads against her.
The girl kissed both their noses before going back to the fire. Trailing her hand over the flames, it leaped and almost seemed to wiggle in glee at her attention. She smiled and sighed softly. Storms always put her in a strange mood. They made her feel unsettled, like she couldn't stop moving. She looked up at the sky. The storm was coming from Camelot. A smile graced her lips. it had been months since she last visited Camelot. Her time there had been nice. She had met the Prince and his father as well as a very kind knight. With a chuckle, she turned away from the storm.
"I have become far too attracted to knights as of late," she mumbled, going back to her horses. They were still jittery with the storm, only calming as she cooed and petted them.

lost and insecure you found me lying on the floor surround me
“Oh yes, my servant will ride just beyond the woods and get it for me. No, it’s no trouble; he doesn’t mind the rain. You’re happy to get it for me, aren’t you, Merlin?”
Scathing words like the above weren’t a jovial request from a friend: they were an inescapable request from a cruel and harsh master, Arthur Pendragon. Oh course, Merlin was left with no choice but to meekly say, “Certainly, Sire” and was saved his sarcastic elaboration of “In fact, I’d be delighted to run naked through the snow and fetch you back a beautiful princess for your bride and half her father’s kingdom besides” by a knight walking in and demanding to know about the strategy of jousting for some tournament or another. So, now completely ignored by his blonde tormentor of doom, Merlin quietly donned his coat and boots and rode out on his palfrey to find Arthur’s precious mace.
And of course it had to be densely fogged…and blustering…and thundering…and lightning and by that logic, Merlin was soaked and miserable before ten minutes at passed. Two trees straddled the trail ahead of him, with was invisible, covered so thickly in fog as it was. Having no choice, the wizard rode his nag between them, realizing within seconds that if his horse stumbled on something on the unseen ground, he would most likely be thrown to the ground, killed and left for dead for his caring master and prince. He squeezed his eyes tight, wrapped his legs around his horse’s barrel and hung on for dear life, waiting for the moment when the animal would sink up to his knees in bog.
But it never came. Instead, Merlin felt the cold moisture leave his cheeks ever so slightly and he peeked through one eye. Relieved, he opened the other and gasped for breath, as it turned out he hadn’t been breathing for a few minutes. As oxygen flooded back to his brain, he started thinking. Only then did he comprehend…
…he was lost. Brilliant. Not.
