;; sasha tiberius
It was rare that Sasha had ever felt at peace, but today was a very nice day and one of those rare occasions. There was nothing to do and her brother Rei was sleeping in. . . not that she had a problem when there was nothing to do. That meant relaxation to her. It was around noon time, and it would have been warm had it not been freezing cold in the middle of winter.
Sasha decided to go for a walk around her estate, wrapped in warm clothing, thick boots and gloves. It had been a while since she had gone walking around like this. . . she missed it. Buts he did not miss it quite as much as she missed Camelot. . . and Arthur, who was now the king since his father Uther Pendragon had passed.
SETTING ;; Tiberius Estate TIMELINE ;; In between S4 an S5 TAGS ;; open to anyone NOTES ;; I'M BACK! And it's good to be back too! <3 MUSE SONG ;; Sleepyhead by Passion Pit [ not that the lyrics have anything to do with the thread xD it just inspires me ]

Sasha was glad to see him looking happy. She hadn't seen him for so long. She would have to tell him to explain everything that had happened since she'd left. "I may come and go, stay away long years," she smiled. Sasha loved traveling. She never liked to stay in area long, always on the move. . . until it seemed that she had reached the edge of Albion. Someday, she promised herself, I will see the entirety of this world. I shall see edges of this earth. "But I will never leave this kingdom completely. I have ties to it; my father lived here, and I was born here. And you are a great friend of mine." She wondered if she'd ever find the urge to settle down and have a family with someone. She was 25 years old, halfway through the third decade in her life, and she hadn't even fallen in love with more than one man. And that man hadn't even loved her back. She hadn't really made progress in that area. She just wanted to enjoy her life, and she guessed that's all that really mattered.
When she heard Arthur's answer to her question about his father, she was completely taken aback. Now, she had NOT expected to hear that he had passed away. No, she had expected to hear something casual. . . maybe something along the lines of 'He is doing fine, as usual' or 'He is very healthy'. Not. . . not. . . that he had passed away. Her smile immediately dropped off her face, and her expression became a surprised frown. "Oh. . . Arthur. . ." The Lady Sasha began sympathetically. Her own father had died ( worse, he had been murdered ), yet she could not think of the right words to say to the prince. . . or well, technically king since his father was dead. "I. . . I am so sorry. I know what it is like to... to lose a parent. I know what you must be going through." And she meant that deeply. "Oh my God. I am so sorry."

When he turned the conversation over to her, she wondered how he'd react to hearing her answer. She had never had a significant other, or even had a man take any such interest in her. . . and she'd never had any interest in men either. Arthur was okay though; he was very respectful, and she liked that. “To be quite honest, you are,” she smiled. “No man has ever paid much attention to me. . . if you want to exclude the somewhat disturbing, impolite men on my journey here.” She would never even dream of being with one of those men. They had truly given her chills, and she meant that in a bad way.
Glancing back to the forest they'd rode out of, Sasha wondered something. “Are there wolves in these parts?” She asked somewhat worriedly. Sasha adored wolves, but to an extent. They were beautiful creatures to watch, but when encountering one she wasn't too fond of them. Nor would anyone be if they were faced with a foam mouthed hungry predator. Her mother Delilah also liked wolves. . . that had to be the only thing Sasha had in common with her mother.
Even after spending the day in the woods, talking about many, may things... she still had things she wanted to say to him and ask him. “Have you ever tried writing stories?” She inquired slowly. She could almost imagine the answer, but she just wanted to be sure what she had in common with Arthur and what she did not have in common with Arthur, and so she preferred he answer her rather than she just go off and assume something. “Like, make up your very own story where there are absolutely no limits to what could happen.” She did this seldom, but when she did it brightened her mood.

So he’d never loved her. For some reason Sasha was at peace with this answer. It was certainly better than him saying that he had once loved her, and then fallen out of love with her for another woman. "I feel incredibly affectionate for you, and a few days ago when you faced the dragon I was horrified for you,” she said quietly, remembering the fear she had felt. Nicolae had tried to comfort her, but since they’d only met a couple of days before he didn’t want to get into her business or make it seem like he was overstepping his boundaries. “I have never met any other man that I’ve liked as much as you…” …where was she going with this? “However, I would just like to say that I hope you are happy with the woman you marry in the future. And I only hope she appreciates what she will have.”
The shock wasn’t leaving her, and probably would not for a while, but she felt a lot calmer than before. She couldn’t say she was happy, because she was most certainly not. But she tried to imagine what Arthur was feeling; guilt, she could see in the way his expression changed when he had answered her last question. Shock, just as she was, although not as strongly. Sasha let several moments pass; in that long pause she remembered something. Her mother! Delilah had once attacked her and tried to feed her yew berries, which could kill an adult in a matter of seconds. They were very poisonous. Arthur had come to her rescue that night, and she had never properly thanked him. “I just remembered something,” Sasha began slowly and softly, advancing toward the bed where she slightly leaned against one of the four poles supporting the four corners of the bed. “Do you recall the night my mother tried feed me poisonous berries and you came to my rescue?” She gave him a moment to reply. “Well… I… I never thanked you properly for that. So, thank you for saving my life, Arthur.” That felt good to say.
Upon thinking of her mother Delilah Kastus Tiberius, the wife of her father Sir Peter Tiberius, Sasha remembered her childhood and all the verbal and sometimes physical abuse she’d gone through. The worst verbal abuse was when Delilah scorned her and told her she’d never be anything more than her mother; a vengeful witch. She resented that, and never wanted to even consider doing the things a witch did. She did not want Uther to consider her that way, like he would consider her mother if he had found out the truth. That was probably because she supported her father’s views on magic. In her opinion, witches were awful…. And she had a mother to prove it! But there was just something she needed to show Arthur that she’d shown no one else. Not even the nearby village physician when she’d first received it. “There is, something that I want to show you,” Sasha started, paused, then pulled up the right sleeve of her green dress to reveal a long red line of scar going from her shoulder to her elbow. “My mother did this to me when I was sixteen. That’s why I left and came here on my own; I had had enough.” This was probably a depressing subject for Arthur, but she just needed to get out the frustration she held inside by keeping it a secret. “I have never told anyone this. Not one person. And I hope that only you and my future husband will know about it.” She also hoped he’d never tell anyone of her harsh red arm scar. “I’m disappointed it never healed properly.” It flawed her body.
NOTE: 629 Words! I think that may be a record for me! X3

How else had she been spending her time in Camelot...? Just being at peace! Except of course when Arthur had nearly died earlier. That was very disrupting. She cared for him greatly, and he was the only friend she had here. For him to have died would have left her... in a very bad place, to say the least. But anyway, she took a moment to think of what she'd done to busy herself while she was residing in Camelot. "Well, I have taken many walks in the forest, of course never straying too far away from the city." And what was the other thing? Oh yes! "It seems I've taken an interest in painting wolves. Well, I wouldn't call it art... the wolves I've painted are very off in anatomy! They don't look anything like wolves."
Other than the anatomy, she ejoyed painting the feared yet beautiful animals! With their gray and cream pelts, and their deep golden eyes. Some wolves, she learned, were black with red orange eyes! How stunning! "Have you ever had a creative interest?" Lady Sasha asked the recovering prince. "Like painting, or..." She didn't finish that sentence, not exactly knowing of anything else creative.

Sasha Tiberius had been out in the forest with her brother Nicolae Rei Jacob, not doing much except for walking and enjoying the essence of the forest. It never got old, the forest. They appreciated it greatly, and all that was in it. The deer, the rabbits, the grass, even the predators. Sasha had gone into the woods because she had felt tense, as if something bad was going to happen, but she couldn't understand why. Nicolae had insisted on coming with her on her walk.
She needed to tell someone how she felt. So she turned her head to face her brother/servant. "I feel as if something might happen later. I don't know how to explain it. It's like a stone in the pit of my stomach."
Nicolae shook his head slowly. "I don't know what that could be. Are you sure it's not a stomach ache?"
"I'm pretty sure... well, never mind. I guess it is nothing," she responded. That was all she'd say of what she felt. Sasha didn't want to worry her brother for nothing. I was probably just her being dramatic.

"Neither have you. Though, you look a great deal happier."
That was certainly true. With her travels she'd become much happier. Her heart still ached for the prince, but she had learned how to live with it. She'd never be with him or be his wife, so why keep thinking about it? Or well, that's what she kept telling herself. But she didn't want to think about that now, so she pushed it to the back of mind and stopped a few feet away from the prince saying, "I've seen many places with Nicolae. It sounds strange... but I think the life of a nomad is better for me. However, that doesn't mean I won't want to pay a visit to Camelot every now and then." As long as King Uther and his son Arthur didn't have a problem with her coming and going.
"And how is your father the king?" Sasha asked Arthur innocently. If she had known that his father was dead she would never have asked anything like that. But that was what happened whne you weren't around the catch the details of Cameot. Nicolae just stood there in the background of the conversation, not wanting to interupt it. The nomad servant knew that his sister valued all the words the prince said to her.

Sasha didn't really want to think about other men right now. So she quickly tried to think about something else. When he asked if there was anything he could do for her she was glad for the change of subject, but shook her head. “No, I think I'll be okay,” Sasha answered him gently. “Thank you, Arthur,” she added quietly.
Shock was seeping into her emotions again. She replayed the words she had on the night he'd first told her that he did not love her. Never. She would NEVER be with him. She would never be able to show him how much she still loved him. She would never be able to become his wife. None of that. Ever. And that hurt unbelievably.
“I think I should go!” Sasha blurted out with a smile. Though it was faked. She truly hoped he didn't notice. “I need to ask Nicolae to wash one of my blankets.” She did have to do that eventually, but at the moment she was just using it as an excuse to end their conversation. So she could go off and try to get everything together in her mind. But if he needed to ask her anything else, she would be glad to listen.

“Prince Arthur Pendragon,” Sasha greeted him formally but with a deep friendliness in her voice. She was so glad to see him again! It had been so long! The last time she had seen him was about a year ago after he defeated Morgana le Fey. Anything could have happened in that one year so she would surely ask him. “You haven't changed a bit!” She added cheerfully.
“Greetings, Sire,” Nicolae joined in happily. It was great to see him acting so comfortable around the prince. It did not seem like long ago that he was more nervous than she was around him. She knew that Arthur had given him a firm and solid warning to not try anything with her. Even if Nic would never do anything horrid to her, she still thanked Arthur for being so caring for her.
Sasha advanced toward Arthur a few feet, only a short distance between them now. “How are you?” she asked him with a huge smile. “It's been a year!”

So Sasha was heading back to Camelot. Again. She was always leaving and she was always returning. It was becoming a come and go kind of thing, and they always seemed to welcome her with open arms. In her travels she had mostly explored forests and vast grassy meadows and beautiful mountains. But now she was back she felt a warmth come over her. Only this time it would only be a short visit for a week or two until she moved on. It never got lonely, her brother Nicolae Rei Jacob was always at her side. They were a small couple together, and she would have to say she was the more commanding of the two.
Coming upon a very small clearing of low yellow green grass and not so much sunshine as it was shaded by the trees mostly, Sasha spotted a young man and a horse nearby. The man was sitting up against a large oak on the other edge of the clearing. She could barely see him, but she could that he had blonde hair.
Arthur?
Nicolae came up from behind her. “What are you looking at?” He inquired. Sasha glanced toward him but then shifted her glare back to 'Arthur'. There was no way that she could tell if it was him, but the man sure looked a lot like him. She was a little afraid to approach him in case it was not Arthur. But this was Camelot so if it was not Arthur Pendragon, it would probably be a knight or noble.
"Look who it is," she commented with a smile.

“No, it's fine,” Sasha told him immediately. “I'll manage.” She only wished to stand and as long as she didn't stretch her wound then everything be fine. Likely she wouldn't harm it, and her legs were just aching to walk around the room a little bit. She did not want to think about how much he cared for her right now. She needed to deal with the fact he would never be with her. Ever. She kept replaying that word in her head. NEVER. NEVER.
So she got to her feet, slowly and nervously moving away from him to stand in the middle of the floor. Sasha turned to face him, an unreadable expression crossing her face. There was an awkward, perhaps even tense, pause right before she spoke. “Did you ever consider loving me back?” Sasha inquired with a strong voice. Had it come across as cold? It probably had. She wasn't really that angry, more toward heart broken. Sasha didn't want to hurt his feelings.

Sasha knew she had to address this subject carefully, and especially gently because he was her best friend and she did not want to sound or uncaring. Because she was sad he had lost his father. Sasha knew that pain too well and had lived with it all these years. She was really one of the few who believed King Uther Pendragon to be a great king. . . and King Arthur would be even greater. “Even if it was inevitable, I'm still sorry,” she told him softly. “I can relate to what you're feeling.” She didn't want to dampen the mood, but she wanted to let him know that she cared about about him and that if he wanted to he could talk to her anytime about his father's death. Just like she could with him.
“That's good,” she commented, showing a slight half smile. She was well aware that he blamed himself for what had happened to his father, though she could not understand why. Sasha had not been when it had happened, she'd arrived only hours later. She knew he was not responsible though, and that he would never have done it on purpose even if he was. And when he changed the subject off of him she respected that. If he really felt that guilty about his father's death, that was another thing that had in common. For years Sasha had believed that she had been responsible for her own father's death when she had only been thirteen.
“Oh, it's been very nice,” Sasha answered, trying to give him a good detailed answer but also not dragging it out at the same time. “Nicolae is quite happy to be back,” she chuckled quietly. “We've been away so long we have forgotten how nice a Camelot evening can be.” There was another thing that she wanted to bring up... “I'm thinking about extending my visit. I've really missed Camelot.” Of course that was her way of saying she missed him. “And I'm sure Nicolae will be glad to hear that we can finally settle in one place for a while.” Oh wait, she almost forgot! “... Well, that is... if you'll have us?” After all, he was the King.

Yes. She would definitely have to convince her father to take her to more events pronto. “Well, only the basic facts. That you train every day, and have become the best sword handler,” she answered him. Cahir had also mentioned that he could get a little full of himself sometimes, but she wouldn't mention that. It would probably spoil the mood, and who knew if her father's servant was not supposed to say those things? It could get him in trouble if she told. So her mouth was shut. “Hearing your father explain about the Pendragon family history, that was interesting,” she commented. Sasha wasn't just being nice, she had honestly listened to every word, finding every word as interesting as the one before.
So he did like dogs! That was something they had in common. “Oh really?” Sasha smiled brightly. “Do you have any specific breed planned?” She was picturing a big dog, perhaps like a German Shepherd or... just a large bulky dog. That was definitely her favorite breed, the German Shepherd. Nothing was better than having a huge brown and black 'guard' by your side, ready to shred any offender to pieces if they threatened you.
“Oh yes!” She exclaimed, hoping right after she said it that it didn't come out too loud. “I adore dogs!” She really did. Sasha really wanted her own! But her father wouldn't let her. After the wolf-dog incident she hadn't been able to have one.

“Thank you for still having faith in me,” Sasha gave him a light smile. “I'm sure you're the only person here who does.” That's why he was such a valued friend of hers. He would never give up on her. That was what she loved about him, along with his many other characteristics. “But the King... I'm sure he would not be too happy to see me here, assuming he believes my mother's lies.” Her 'lies' that she was a sorceress. Delilah was right of course, but Camelot didn't need to know that. She would never use it for evil.
She was becoming a little more calm, but it didn't settle her mind and thought flow. She was still thinking about Nicolae and the two huge secrets that she had learned. They had just changed her life, and she knew that it would never be the same again. Ever. And when he asked her if all the secrets she had learned all pertained to her father she found it as a good time to start venting. The second secret made her a happy, but it also made her furious that her mother had not let her know about Nicolae's true relation to her. "No, the second secret I learned has to do with Nicolae," she said. A long moment passed where she wondered how he would react. "I have found out that he is... my... half-brother." It still made her shiver. All this time, even though she had never known it, she had been living with her brother so close to her. "I can't understand how, but... he is."
To hear that her half-brother was safe was a great relief to her. She let out a relieved sigh. “I care for him greatly, even when I didn't know he was my brother,” she said quietly. “I wish I hadn't let him come. Or stolen his sword.” She was holding it in her sword's sheath.

She was just left in awe. She had never even come close to kissing a man and now that she had, it felt great but also a little strange. Sasha was always nervous and shy, but she had never felt those two emotions so strongly in her life aside from now. What did she say after she kissed a man? What did she do? Was she supposed to do something? What would he think of her if she didn't do whatever she was supposed to do? She was so inexperienced. But then again there was a first time for everyone. But at least she wasn't looking him in the eyes at the very moment, it helped slow her thoughts.
~ TIME SKIP: TWO HOURS LATER ~ They were heading back now, as much as she hated to. They had had such a great time, and it turned out to become a huge moment in her life. She had actually kissed a man...It wasn't something abnormal, obviously... but... just wow. She would definitely be thinking about it the rest of the day. There didn't seem to be any more conversation as they rode toward the beautiful castle in the distance, which she didn't know if it was a good thing or a bad thing. Probably a good thing, to have pauses where they did not speak.
But she wanted to start conversation. What had they not talked about in the past two hours? “It's none of my business, but...” She began pausing for a moment. “Has your love life been going decently?” Sasha didn't even know the reason she wanted to ask that so badly. Judging by his obvious good looks and nice personality his love life was flourishing. Which was unfortunate for her, because she was really starting to like him. Starting to become a little more familiar with the concept of love... however she still didn't know if it was love or not. It was just on her mind a lot right now.

Needless to say again, this was very painful for her. But she knew that saying these things and meaning them would help her get through this. He apologized again, but immediately she gave him a look saying 'You don't have to'. Truly, it was her fault for having the hope that he might love her... especially because he had already told her a while ago that he did not. “It is not your fault, Arthur, be sure of that,” she said quietly.
His next question made her think for a moment. A question that she could not answer. “I don't know,” Sasha began softly, her tears starting to dry up... for the time being. “Well... I'm sure there are still good men here at the court.” She had absolutely no current plans on meeting another man. The thought repulsed her at the moment. However, she did know one good man she truly liked other than Arthur. The only difference was in rank.

It was just another short walk through the forest on the wide, leafy path Sasha followed routinely everyday. She knew it by heart so fortunately it reduced her chances of getting lost in this... this wilderness. Sasha would not like enjoy that, no matter how beautiful it was. She wasn't exactly too far away from the castle of Camelot, but it was a good distance. She never liked to stray too far, in case such a situation arose where she needed help she wouldn't be very far away.
If she were mugged, or maybe worse, by bandits then the distance wouldn't matter. It would still hurt her. So you could say she really hadn't thought it through very well. But she may as well take her chances as long as she enjoyed herself, right? Well, it was noon and it was breezy out. Just the way Sasha liked it, so she was not about to miss it. It was what made her feel good, especially nowadays since Arthur had admitted he loved another woman. These nice walks made her think less about it. Plus she had who seemed to be the greatest servant in Albion! Nicolae Jacob.
Sasha Tiberius wasn't really paying close attention to what was straight ahead of her on the brown path, possibly because what was there was so camouflaged against the shadows of the trees her eyes glazed over it. But as she got closer she looked harder until she could just make out a tail, floppy ears, and a square shaped head attached to a small black body. The Camelotian noblewoman knew exactly what it was just by the anatomy of the tiny creature. It was a puppy! She hadn't grown up with dogs that frequently, but when she had she'd enjoyed them incredibly.
So instinctively Sasha just wanted to hold the pup. Slowly approaching the little dog she tried to seem as friendly and calm as possible, feeling like an animal could read her body language and become scared by different signals. What was a puppy doing in this part of the woods though? Had it gotten lost? Was it from a nearby feral dog pack? She'd never heard of feral dogs in Camelot, but there was always a first time for everything.
She squatted down a few feet away from the black dog pup, of whose breed she was a little unsure of. Perhaps a Labrador Retriever? She recognized the square anatomy of the head. She reached out her hand slowly so the dog could get her scent, not that it wasn't carried on the breeze.
NOTES: SOOOO sorry about the late reply! Muse was really low! Also, could we have it right in between S2 and S3?
